hello i've been curious, did you delete all your stories from ao3 (other than the naruto ones)? or maybe i'm mistaking you for someone else, in which case sorry lol

I didn't quite delete them. I had to step away from BG3 because it was taking up a massive amount of my life, sadly. I think I marked them as "anonymous" so that anyone who still enjoyed them could read to their hearts content or even pick them up and write them (I think that's how it works?)

Last night, I realized why I've been having so much trouble with my story Sparks and Burn. I'm a little surprised I didn't realize it before.

I will be doing some major editing regarding the story. Because the edits will comprise mostly of Burn and only part of Sparks, I'm going to take the time to refine the entire story. Might as well. I'm going to leave the "rough draft" up on AO3 and post the edits in a new story as one big story. There's some clunky parts in Sparks that I've wanted to clean up. And maybe refine Tami a little bit (some scenes she's being a little obnoxious. Not that she can't be, but sometimes too much is really too much). There's parts of the story I think that can go a little deeper, have more world building, or more character detail. I think I might even take some time to clean up some of Naruto's world building, too. Just so it's a little more -- realistic? I don't think Kishi meant to have the technology as sorta there, sorta not originally. It was supposed to be a short story that kind of spiraled and became the lovable story we all care for today. I might not be able to do much better, but I'll try to honor his work and intent as best as I can!

This might be a little obnoxious, but -- I really want to use this story as practice before writing my big original novel I have planned.

UPDATES REGARDING BURN

I think I'm stepping away from this fanfic for some time. I had wanted to update it before now, but -- I think I'm going to leave it be. I love the story, and I love the characters; Tami is still near and dear to my heart. But I have no inner desire to continue the story right now. There's been a lot of strange things surrounding that story in particular; I even had to take down my series on FFN due to continued harassment. In addition, I also had a situation with a -- I honestly don't even know if she was a friend? Looking back, I realized that anytime I had anything good happen in my life, she was upset with me immediately after, but she was fine hearing about my boss tormenting me and treated me better then. This character and series as well was a hot-button issue (for other, complicated reasons).

Anyway - love you all. I don't really know who I'm telling, but -- I guess to anyone that's curious. I'll see you sometime, hopefully soon.

There doesn't seem to be much interest in my story, and with all of the above going on in my head, it didn't seem really worth it. I don't know if anyone is even watching or wanting an update anymore.

Obsessed with characters who portray themselves as worse than they are. Who are lying to everyone including themselves about it. People generally assume if someone's lying about themselves they're trying to look better but sometimes they're trying to look worse. They attribute agency to where they had none, add intend to accidents, try to convince everyone that this is something they did instead of something that happened to them.

New Burn Coverart

I was able to get this done today. Luanna is one of my oldest characters that I have - I love her so much and I'm so happy I'm able to write her in my fanfic. She's great. This took a little bit to get right, but I'm glad it's done. I like this more than the other.

Life has done what life likes to do, and throws curve balls.

I'm taking a small break from Burn for the time being. Not long, as I really just want to get the story done with. The friend I had made during Sparks is no longer a friend. I wouldn't say it was amicable. I'm not going to say more as it's over and done with. And as I look back more and more, I think it's for the best.

Anyway, I'll need to figure out what to do with some of the side characters. Namely, Reina and Himeko, and even Junpei to some degree. Reina was inspired by this friend -- I think maybe dropping her out and editing her out of the story at some point would be fitting. Not out of any kind of malice, but just that I don't think it's a good idea to continue the character. And Himeko... I had plans for her, but -- maybe she'll be dropped too. Or I'll change the plans. Owl did want a princess lol

Anyway -- thank you to my readers. If you feel it in your heart to send some encouragement my way, I'd love it. ❤️

I won't be down for long. I want to get Burn done, do my final round of edits and repost as one completed work as the "shiny and completed" version. That's been my plan all along.
