CC: Scorpius and Albus look at each other and something passes between them.
CC: Scorpius and Albus look at each other heartbroken.
CC: Scorpius couldn't think of his own mother to save himself from the dementors, he had to think of his completely platonic straight bro Albus.
CC: I am the Heterosexual Book of The Year.

Doctor: So what seems to be the problem?
Me: I'm having these strange pains...
Doctor: Please, elaborate.
Me: Well... whenever I think of Scorbus, my chest hurts.

In Response to: “They are Only Fourteen”
I have been reading a few responses to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child that use the argument “they are only fourteen” to justify why Scorpius and Albus are not openly queer at the conclusion of the play. This is my response:

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Review & Suggestions
A couple of weeks ago I wrote a Harry Potter and the Cursed Child review on this blog that I have since deleted. In my passion and anger my choice of words was problematic, and I want to start this new review with a sincere apology. I am very sorry to all who I upset or offended, and I will endeavour to be better in the future.
That being said, I do have some very strong opinions about the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child plays, and as there is a chance that changes can be made for the premier at the end of this month, I believe it is important that I voice my concerns about this play as loudly as possible. This isn’t just to satisfy my desires as a fan; there are political reasons for this as well. I have written a (very carefully worded) review of the two parts of the play (not the plot spoilers, I actually saw the play) for @thebookwars here. There are no plot spoilers in this review. Below the “Keep reading” I have six simple suggestions on how the play can improve for the premier. These DO contain spoilers. There are several larger suggestions I would make if I thought the entire play could be re-written, but as I know that’s not practical, I have limited my suggestions to easy fixes that Thorne and Tiffany could implement by the end of this month. While I am not hopeful that all of these changes will be made, I hope that Thorne and Tiffany listen to the fans if they decide to make any changes. Please feel free to share your thoughts, but let’s please try to have a civil dialogue here. Thanks!
