Been thinking about maybe trying to record a suite of songs from my big ol’ list albums I want to record eventually.

Whatever, Dad is some good stuff. Dad? (the bomb flower album) is a clean listen through. The main event, Whatever, Dad, is also real good too.

Song: Green Ray
Artist: Blank Banshee
Year: 2020
Why it's Dope: Full-bodied lead synths that bring forth images of lasers being shot in outer space, slick percussion that is busy and energetic, an excellent mix of instrumentation that is delightful and scintillating, and a strong composition that strikes a perfect balance between steadiness and unpredictability.
P.S. Have a Happy New Year! 💙💙💙

Relistening to Blank Banshee because I used to listen to his music a lot in middle and some of high school and he makes really tight albums. Really good electronic music out of the vaporwave scene. Good ass contorted vocals. Really knows how to incorporate vocals and how to use those samples.

portrait of me yesterday
olive jacket.
lips laughing tongue out
from a time i wasn’t a thought in a head.
long sleeves obscure neath
the short.
long gray pants
short clipped auburn crown
can’t frame my eyes.
lips terse
eyes heavy and tired.
lithe piano-player fingers
picking at the
patchy thicket goatee and
acne scars neath

I’ve taken since my third or fourth listen as both, but on first listen after As Your Father… it definitely hits you with that first interpretation. He’s such a stressed workaholic that he won’t even sit so he can “earn his life.” A kind of dark humor to it.
I’m glad I’m not the only one torn on the interpretation of this lyric
