Another bedroom
Cyril and Regina finally had the means to continue decorating their home. First room they fully finished was their bedroom. They were able to make it look quite spacious and even integrated a small office corner.

Another tiny kid's room

After spending money to buy their house and both of them still very far down on their career tracks, they were not able to go spend plenty of money on decorating their home. And once their child was born, they started saving up in order to be able to pay for college tuition fees.
But as soon as their son grew up to be a child, they wanted to give him a nice room.
A short while back, I was searching for some nice bunk beds, as most of my sims live in small houses. I came across Michelle's Kinder Upper Beds (MTS) and since then have been using them often, mainly because the space underneath is fully usable.

Still playing the game and so far, only occasionally stayed away for a longer period of time.
Reblog if you are a simblr of either the Sims 2 or the Sims 3 (or both).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I wanna support more simblr accounts despite have being retired from Sims role playing myself, especially since they're overshadowed by the Sims 4 nowadays. I have nothing against those who enjoy the Sims 4, but as a long time simmer I still wish to support other fellow simmers who are active in the same simblr as the one I grew up with. 🫶🏻
And yes, you're free to reblog this even if you're retired but still love the Sims!

Chris and Ina's kitchen
As soon as Chris and Ina were done decorating their living room and lobby, they decided to continue with the main floor, as they spend most of their time there.
Therefore the next room they worked on was their kitchen. which they wanted to be light and quite modern too.

WIP
As Deshan and Dora pay rent (did not have to spend all that money on buying a property), they were left with quite a bit of household funds.
Therefor, as soon as they moved into their home, they started decorating the kitchen and living room with some bold colors.

Differences between DXT5 / DXT3 / DXT1
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The images above are all imported with SimPe's Built DXT... option, and then exported for previewing. The short version is:
You can't go wrong with DXT5 :)
I'll go through the differences under the cut.
DXT5

Supports transparency (alpha channel)
Preserves texture details well
Smooth gradient transparency
Filesize of the vase texture: 25 KB Filesize of the plant texture with gradient alpha channel: 26 KB Filesize of the plant texture without the gradient part: 20 KB
Useful for: textures that are solid or have a complex alpha channel.

Supports transparency (alpha channel)
Preserves texture details well
Causes stripes on alpha channel gradients

Useful for: textures that are solid or have a well-defined alpha channel.

DXT1

Doesn't support transparency (no alpha channel)
Pixelates texture details
Filesize of the vase texture: 21 KB Filesize of the plant texture: 14 KB
Useful for: solid one color textures with no details.
Shouldn't be used for: detailed textures, textures with transparency.
Both textures l used are 256x256. They came from TS4, thanks to @tvickiesims for extracting the textures! I added the gradient bit to the plant one.

At 70, Maria closed down her gallery and sold all the art back to the providers.
As they now had plenty of cash and time, they were able to finish decorating all of the main floor (except for the 2nd bath room) and the forecourt.

WIP
As with all families, that moved into a rented house, Doug and Dulcea Slater had enough household funds to start decorating their new home right away.
They decided, contrary to her parents house across the courtyard, to use the smaller part of the main floor as living room. Main reasons being, that it had more windows and that a smaller space would make it more cozy.
One thing both of them always had wanted, was a nice fireplace. Otherwise, besides getting some nice loveseats, a living chair and a TV, they could not afford much more. Mainly as both of them do not earn much money yet and they already started saving up for tuition fees for any future kids.

Just to be able to find this again. Thanks very much :)
Hi, long time no see. Once upon a time I was re-uploading all my old cc on my dw with updated filenames/nice preview pictures. Well that hasn't been updated in literal years (time flies when you're having fun?) so I have finally just uploaded everything left to a folder at simfileshare. Some of this stuff is 10+ years old so don't judge anything you find in there too hard lol.
Here it is!

From tiniest kid's room to larger teen room
Tumblr media
Dave and Alexandra's home has two rooms on the top floor, one meant to be a small bathroom, the other the kid's room. When their boy grew up to be a child, they wanted to be able to give him enough space for toys and a desk for homework.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They decided to use the small room as a bedroom for the child, which is just big enough for a bunk bed and a few toys beneath.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As soon as their child grew up to be a teenager, they moved the bed over to the larger room, where there is enough space for his desk and clutter.

Last 3rd generation couple to turn into elders
Chris and Ina Cain had a nice party while turning into elders.
Tumblr media
Chris had turned perma platinum already at 34 and fulfilled his lifetime want of getting to the top in the law career track at 50.
Ina turned perma platinum the day after their birthday, when she reached the top in the law career track. But so far, she has not yet been able to fulfill her lifetime want of earning 100'000. Not sure, if she will get there by the time they will retire.
