why is it always a male character going mad avenging his dead wife and never a female character cradling her dying pure of heart husband in her arms then dragging the whole world down with her
I feel like the problem ppl have when constructing redemption arcs is people make 'the character realizes what they've done is wrong' the end step instead of like...one of the earliest ones. a satisfying redemption arc doesn't resolve when the character first feels sorry, it resolves when a character has really journeyed towards atonement and made enough change in themselves to achieve some kind of symbolic victory over who they used to be
when Florence Welch said “You don’t have to be a ghost here amongst the living. You are flesh and blood! You deserve to be loved and you deserve what you are given”
no offense but… waterloo… i was defeated you won the war… waterloo… promise to love you forever more… waterloo… couldn’t escape if i wanted to… waterloo… knowing my fate is to be with you… oh oh waterloo… finally facing my waterloo…
Shout out to bi boys. You may not have a lot of positive posts for you out there but you are valid and you are good. Your bisexuality is not ‘a stepping stone to being fully gay’ you’re not a gay guy too scared to fully come out. Your bisexuality is just as real and valid as anyone else’s. You are important and you matter.
The hug between Theon and Sansa means so much to me. These two were the least happy with living in Winterfell through out their childhood. Theon was a hostage, and had to live in perpetual fear that he would get executed if there would ever come a time where the Greyjoys rebelled again. Sansa felt locked up there, and dreamed of the South, with all the tourneys, the knights, the singers, and everything she ever wanted in life. They both overreached in their attempt of getting more in life, and spent years suffering afterwards. Sansa was tormented, abused, manipulated and trapped by the Lannisters while Theon went through psychological and physical torture caused by Ramsey Bolton for years. Then, they met again at the lowest point in their life in the place they wanted to leave so badly, and that place became a nightmare for them. They only suffered even more abuse, and yet, it was because of each other that they were able to escape it. Sansa was the one who pushed Theon into embracing his true identity, and gave him the courage he needed in order to rebel from the person who scared him. Theon was the one who helped and protected Sansa all through out their escape to the point where he was even willing to lay down his life in order to make sure that she finds safety. After they separated, they both fought for their family, and now here they are, the best versions of themselves, both having embraced their identities, their families and themselves, and both willing to stand their ground to protect Winterfell, this place that used to mean very little to them, from the things that threaten it.
I need the Met Gala to turn away any and all people who do not meet the standards of tonight’s theme. Get out of here with your boring ass “I just want to look pretty for Instagram” dresses and stale as hell plain black suits! I will be served CAMP or you will see the door!
letting a traumatized character have their happy ending where they can recover from their trauma will always be a thousand times more powerful than killing them off for shock value
