me: I'm gonna go find and download new defaults as mine are very out of date and the original creator hasn't been around for a few years!

also me: downloads new defaults, goes to remove old defaults and finds....i've just downloaded the exact skin default I already had, lmao

excuse the crappy picture but lmao. I need to go update my eye defaults because the ones I’ve been using for years were made by someone who’s not active in the community anymore. I updated them myself for personal use when various occults came out but idk if I can go do it for infants again now bc I no longer have photoshop

whilst I figure out what new ones I’ll use that are updated, we will roll with the idea of this kid being blind for now???? honestly these are the best. Most of them either generate with SUPER vibrant unnatural iris colours, or some just have black scleras. fuuuunnnnn.

hi hi! it's been...two years since I last posted on here. honestly, I completely fell out of playing the sims much at all. I'd start saves here and there but I could never really stick to one for very long. I've played a lot of other games in the meantime, and had a LOT of big life things going on too.

so here I am now in february 2023. i'm 29 (hitting the big 3-0 later this year, yikes!). i've now been living in my own flat by myself for the last 10 months and i've just celebrated my one year anniversary with my wonderful boyfriend! I managed to move jobs to a place much closer to where I live (I was doing a 2-hour commute each way to work every day and it was just...exhausting. adding on to the fact I have M.E., it was just making me more and more unwell, and I was getting to a point where I was concerned I wasn't going to actually be able to hold down a full-time job anymore because my health was getting so bad.)

anyway! this lil update was just to say, I've started playing the decades challenge (following @cutecoffeegal's rules) and it's making me love playing again. i'm gonna try posting some of the photos i've taken in game over the next few days (there will be minimal storytelling because my creative juices are also minimal lol)

tl;dr hi it's been two years I am kinda back (if anyone is still here and around!) and i'm gonna post some of my decades challenge gameplay!

a very belated (and somewhat bittersweet) farewell to a save

so for anyone that’s been around with my blog and my intermittent usage of it, you may remember I began the Luck LEPacy back in Novemeber 2017 (yowch).

I played through ALL TWELVE generations of it before even posting, as I often seem to lose motivation for playing once I start posting (who knows why). However, I got up to about gen 9 posting and just....stopped. I still have all the photos, and was planning on rekindling them to finally get around to posting the last few generations of the legacy, but 

I can’t remember anyone’s names

I have no idea where I saved information about the different sims (i.e. names, traits etc)

It really would be a lot of effort and require energy I probably don’t have

so on this sad note, I am going to officially retire the Luck LEPacy to my “old saves” page (that you can still find via the directory on my blog).

Sorry to anyone that was still holding on, four years later, but I’m gonna have to put the Lucks to bed, sad that the end of their story was not told (but let’s be honest, it wasn’t really story-based anyway, it was just gameplay tbh).

Hopefully I’ll be able to stick to a save long enough to post something new here soon.

it’s been a weird and hell-ish year but tl;dr I finished my masters degree and am now working as a fully qualified speech & language therapist!!! it’s been a tough ride to get there but we got there, somehow, in amongst this shitshow of a year
