The Simpsons’ Season 29 continues, as this Sunday, March 25th, 2018, Fox will air “3 Scenes Plus a Tag from a Marriage”, the 13th episode of Season 29 and the 631st episode to date. 3 Scenes Plus a Tag from a Marriage

Episode Description:

Homer and Marge recount the story of their transition from loving their life without kids to being miserable parents.

Episode Details: ‘3 Scenes Plus a Tag from a Marriage’ is the 13th episode of Season 29 as well as the 631st episode of The Simpsons. The episode will air on FOX on March 25th, 2018. It was written by Tom Gammill and Max Pross and directed by Matthew Nastuk.

COUCH GAG:

Homer sings while his face contorts, divides and explodes.

PRODUCTION!:

Originally the episode was set to air on March 18, 2018, it was then set to air on the date Homer Is Where the Art Isn’t was going to air, but was once again set back as 13th episode and pushed one more week later.

EPISODE FACTS!:

CULTURAL REFERENCES:

The song Homer sings in the couch gag is from the animated short Your Face by Bill Plympton.

JJ Gruff’s character and looks are based on J. Jonah Jameson. It’s also voiced by J. K. Simmons, original voice actor for Jonah in the the original Spider-Man trilogy and other shows.

The scene where Moe plays the fiddle is a reference to the movie Heaven’s Gate.

Queasy Rider is a parody of the 1969 movie Easy Rider.

The Simpsons’ Season 29 continues, after 2 months pause due to the Olympics, as this Sunday, March 18th, 2018, Fox will air “Homer Is Where the Art Isn’t”, the 12th episode of Season 29 and the 630th episode to date. Homer Is Where the Art Isn’t

Episode Description:

When Homer is accused of stealing a million-dollar painting, only a detective from the 1970s can clear his name, or send him to jail. It’s a classic impossible mystery.

Episode Details: ‘Homer Is Where the Art Isn’t’ is the 12th episode of Season 29 as well as the 630th episode of The Simpsons. The episode will air on FOX on March 18th, 2018. It was written by Kevin Curran.

PRODUCTION!:

A scene for the episode was going to have Sideshow Mel say that they want a female Doctor Who, with the crowd agreeing and chanting with him. The joke is likely going to be changed in the episode though, as on July 16, 2017, Jodie Whittaker was announced to be the Thirteenth Doctor.

Originally the episode was set to air on March 11, 2018, on that day 3 Scenes Plus a Tag from a Marriage was set to air instead, but then the episode was switched back and pushed one week later.

CULTURAL REFERENCES:

The title of the episode is a reference to the song “Home Is Where the Heart Is“.

The song has been referenced with the song “Home Is Where the Bart Is” in the season 24 episode “Love Is a Many-Splintered Thing“.

Manacek is based on the character Banacek from the detective TV series of the same name.
