I wonder... does this blog have enough reach in the fandom that we could try and finally put a stop to people tagging unrelated AUs as LU.

The correct term to use is "Links meet AU" and the reason the mistagging hurts is because:

A) It dismisses the creativity of the work. Its a lot like saying someone's original character looks like a fictional character you know. It may be a small unintended insult but it can be demoralising and make them not wish to share their art anymore.

B) It connects all AUs of this type to Jojo, the creator of LU. That comic was not the first links meet au by a long shot. YES her work inspired many of us to start our own imagines of the same base concept, but that does not make them Linked Universe. It's like claiming someone inspired by spider-man deciding to explore the superhero genre is just making more spider-man.

Yes this may be a small issue, but I've been working on this webcomic since 2020 and still get those demoralising tags. I've been silently baring it long enough. Even worse is seeing how it hurts fellow creators in the fandom.

I don't like asking this but... Please spread this post and if you'd like: add your own experiences below. Maybe we can change things around here.

I got lots of ideas for how to rewrite totk a little so now I needs to get to drawing.

But think about this.

In totk, this ganondorf will be the strongest of all and in order to defeat him, not only does link have to get the sages but also get trained with the spirits of past heroes. Like twilight did with the hero’s shade(or Time). But he does it with multiple of past hero’s and they all teach him skills to defeat the ultimate demon king. I just think it’d be neat

Bruh I thought Legend was in his mid twenties 😭

Something I’ve been thinking about a lot is that not only is Hyrule taller than Legend

But there is a very real possibility that he’s a little bit older than him too. If not, they’re the same age.

In the LU discord server Jojo shared a PDF answering questions about the Links, and one of those questions was how long has it been since each of their adventures. For Hyrule, it said it had been about two years. In the Adventure of Link, he’s confirmed to be 16, which would make him 18 years old in LU.

Legend, on the other hand, has had about a year since his last journey, on which he was 16/17 (which I found from doing a google search). Which would make him 17/18 now.

I’ve been thinking about this a LOT because when I first found LU I thought Hyrule was like 16 and Legend was 21 or something. But no, Hyrule is an adult and Legend is either 17 or 18.

They get along so well because they’re like the same age. They are best friends your honor.

Of course you can head canon them to be whatever ages you want, I just realized they’re like the same age and I thought it was hilarious considering I’ve seen a lot of people like myself assume Legend was much older and taller.

I felt this in my soul

I think my 'problem' is that I feel like Squidward:

I don't feel connected to other LU writers, and I don't necessarily feel connected to the LU fandom as a whole, despite keeping up with what other people are doing. I'm often too tired and too busy (I spend at least 45 hours a week at work) and introverted on top of that, where I want some interaction but not too much.

Maybe I just don't get myself out there enough. I don't write quickly (see above) and I save the LU tag for updates for the most part (any asks I get about TSNF or any snippets I post or bite sized facts I offer don't go into the LU tag because I don't want to flood the tag with my AU). I've been told in the past that I'm at least somewhat intimidating. I started writing for LU in 2019 and I have... ten fanfics under my belt.

I don't know how to not feel like this either. I have some more friends now than I did before August, but I've been burned in the past when I tried to reach out to people (in that none of it was reciprocated, that when I stopped starting the conversation, those 'friendships' essentially died because those people never reached out to me in return).

if i did a 9 part essay series about every linked universe Link and my issues w/ how ppl interpret/write them would yall care? bc i just ranted for like 40 minute sin a call to my friends about Four ALONE so i relize i have many thoughts about how they r shown in fanworks. btw im not asking for permission im just gonna do it if i feel like it but whats the general scope of how mad ppl would be at me lmao, i already know if ppl catch wind of any of them im gonna get stupid comments liek “if u dont like dont interact” so just testing the waters so to say

Idk I feel like because I technically entered the Zelda fandom late(even tho I’ve been obsessed with the series since I was very little), maybe that’s why I don’t get lots of interactions?

I have a Kpop fic blog too and from the start I got so much support and it grew a lot.

Again, I’m not sure if it’s because I entered late or what. But I do feel that the fandom is a little cliquey.

I think anyone can relate to when your posts don’t get many interactions. It definitely kills confidence.

Now speaking of the LU I tend to tread carefully.

I love the idea. I love the designs and everything. But I lowkey get worried about posting any Zelda art that isn’t LU. This is hard to explain…

It’s like, yes that jojo person owns the designs and concept but not the brand of course. I’m just afraid if I draw a Link( let’s say Skyward Sword Link) and it’s deemed to look too much like Jojo’s I’ll get in trouble with people. It’s pretty inevitable that if I draw SS Link, that it’ll look really really similar to the LU one since we are looking at the same reference. I may also call him Sky considering is easier that constantly saying Skyward Sword Link. Or is that not allowed? It’s a little stressful, ngl.

Idk, I feel like the kpop fandom was much easier to get into and make friends/get with the community. The Zelda one, not so much.

More interactions would be nice tho 😅

Is it just me, or is interaction in the Zelda fandom (LU and other such aus included) disproportional to the amount of people/content there is?

I'm alive and thought of a different subject to write headcannons for. I'm more than happy to hear any feedback, but take my headcannons with a grain of salt. I tried to make it accurate enough so enjoy!

Best to worse hygiene in the Chain:

1. Warriors

2. Calamity

3. Legend

4. First

5. Fierce Diety

6. Four

7. Koridai

8. Time

9. Courage

10. Sky

11. Twilight

12. Wind

13. Sage

Here is my reasoning for the best to worse hygiene in the Chain:

1. Warriors

• I have to put him at the top cause jojo even stated that he does try and keep up his appearance on their journey. He does seem like the type to try and always seem presentable in any circumstances. So, I'd say he'd be the one to bath the most out of the Chain.

• He's also a knight and I do believe that knights had a different standard for cleanliness than others. (But Warriors takes it to another level)

• He might not have the beauty routines and what not like the modern day, but he's very thorough with cleaning himself.

• He'd take two showers before climbing in a bath. He would have a small hand bag for all his toiletries; soap, shampoo (I don't think Hyrule would have conditioner in any of the era's honestly), some nice smelling oils or something to keep up a fresh smell. Stops in villages/towns usually have him going and restocking everything, potions, armour, weapons and hygiene items.

• He have two particular scents that he prefers and often switches between the two.

• Basically the man's the cleanest a person could get in any Hyrule.

2. Calamity

• Again, knights I believe have a certain standard with hygiene. Him also being Natura/Flora's personal knight would mean he'd have to be more clean and hygienic than other knights.

• He's not scared to get his hands dirty, but I can see Natura/Flora yelling at him to wash his hands because of a little dirt. I can definitely see most of the Zelda's being neat freaks.

• He's got a simple routine thats straight forward. He also doesn't spend too much time in the shower/bath, but that doesn't mean he's not thorough though.

• He also just grabs whatever soap and shampoo he can get his hands on in villages/towns when he notices he's running low.

• He's the type to unconsciously scrub too hard and get rashes because of it.

• He's the one to get Wild and Sage to take bathes with a lot of fighting.

3. Legend

• Legend is sensitive to smell - don't ask why but he does.

• This man is the one to judge everyone else if he catches a whiff of them smelling off. He's not afraid to call them out in their odours and will try and get them to go and bath immediately.

• He does surprisingly keep himself in a routine, he makes sure to shower and then bath (if the circumstances allow it) every second day.

• He likes to do a thorough job with washing in the shower and then taking a long relaxing bath afterwards.

• He takes the second longest with bathing - after Warriors of course - not because he's got a lengthy routine like Wars, but he does have imaginary arguments/debates while he's busy.

• I can see him being picky with the smell of his soap and shampoo. He would take ages in villages/towns/markets just to find something that smells nice to him.

• He also doesn't like sharing his soap or shampoo with anyone, unless he deems it absolutely necessary like getting Wind, Wild and Hyrule to bath.
