Just had some thunder, inspo struck for DLAU...

Apollo freaks out a bit when there's a thunderstorm. Lester and Meg both do their best to keep him calm when a storm hits, but Lester can feel Apollo's near hysteric fear. He can feel it spike when a loud, rumbling BOOM echoes through the sky. It seemed like a bad phobia until Lester had to help heal Apollo.

Without a shirt, Apollo had lightning scars on his chest, his back, and part of his biceps. And Lester is horrified, digusted, and concerned to see his real body, his friend, desecrated like this. He's not stupid- he quickly puts two and two together.

After that, he insisted to Meg to leave the calming down thing to him. The next time the trio was caught in a storm, Lester stayed close to Apollo. He did the usual, lend him some headphones to help block out the noise (even though Lester's phone wouldn't work), sit by him with an arm around his shoulders, and just talked. It didn't matter about what, it kept Apollo from focusing on the storm.

At a point, Apollo tells him he should tell him something he should've brought up ages ago, and reveals the scars. Lester tells him he already knew, he had to help heal him while he was unconscious. Apollo seems almost ashamed, but Lester tells him not to be because it wasn't his fault, that he deserved better, that Zeus shouldn't fear his son.

Fear him? To Apollo, it didn't seem like that, but Lester guessed Zeus was so paranoid, so... abusive not because he hated Apollo, but because he feared him. He was perhaps the most powerful Olympian, second only to Zeus himself. Lester further theorized that Zeus must think Apollo plotted to overthrow him. That was absurd to Apollo- he'd learned long ago you couldn't do that.

"No matter what he thinks, I think you're alright."

Apollo scoffed at Lester's words. "After everything I've said to you? I've insulted you to Tartarus and back. Why do you care when my own father clearly doesn't?"

"Because I'm nothing like Zeus. You're nothing like him either, because you have something he doesn't: humanity."

"No god has humanity, Lester. At least not to the extent mortals do."

Those vibrant eyes locked onto the fallen god's. "I'm seeing for myself that they do. They just hide it."

Silence followed. Lester wanted the best for his friend, and he would be there until the end. He would help Apollo with his fears, and help him learn what it truly means to be human.

Apollo knew this. He admired Lester's determination, but he wondered just how far his friend would go for his sake.

At least the storm didn't bother him as much with him at his side.

his hair is shorter— and cut by yours truly (Meg) it was honestly a really sudden decision based on when Apollo was having a life crisis about his relationship with daddy dearest, Zeus. And after his crisis was over- he kept the short hair and styled it (unintentionally) to look something of a mix of Helios and Poseidon hairstyles.

he’s also wearing a friendship made my meg- he cherishes it dearly— meg has a matching one but in yellow.
