When it comes to creating artwork, I believe that an idea is the backbone of any piece.

Therefore, like any other creator, I always kickstart my creative process by generating various ideas for my work.

Fortunately, in the case of this drawing, the idea came to me almost immediately. It was as if Sakura and Ume's story had been waiting within me to be brought to life on paper. ˙ᵕ˙

I envisioned a small but poignant scene where Sakura would express her concern for her sister's reckless behavior, offering both an insight into their relationship dynamics and a snapshot of their daily lives.

Specifically, I wanted to highlight the sisterly bond between the two characters as well as the vulnerability and perseverance that Ume displays.

And so, with these intentions and a clear idea in mind, I set out to capture this moment in my small illustration!

Haruno Ume Design

Hello!  It's my Naruto OC, a character I created out of love for my favorite characters. Ume is my pride and joy and I'm excited to share her with you.

I'm a huge fan of Naruto and have been since I was a kid. I've watched every episode, read all the manga! So I'm truly passionate about this series and it's been a huge part of my life for many years. 

A little bit information about Ume: 

NAME: Ume Haruno

AGE: Part I: 16-17

DATE OF BIRTHDAY: April 29

ZODIAC SIGN: Taurus

HEIGHT: 163 cm

FAVORITE FOODS: Mochi with ice cream, peaches

FAVORITE COLOR: Red

FAVORITE WORD: "love" (愛する, Aisuru)

FAVORITE TIME OF THE SEASON: Spring

HOBBIES: Reading, training, floriography

I managed to find a little bit of my time to finish this (God only knows how many times I already changed her design) redesign of Ume, but it's totally worth it because each time she gets closer to perfection and I love her more and more. 🥰

At first I planned to change just her clothes, so they would portray her personality even better, but when I sat to work on her, I realized that her hair made no sense, or maybe that is just my crazy love for symmetry? Anyway, I changed her hairstyle. Now it has bangs on both sides, and she looks more spiky, but somehow it suits her pretty well and emphasizes her teen fighty spirit.

I stayed with her original color scheme, but this time made red a little bit lighter, so it would better compliment her soft colors. Another major change that I did is I put her bandana on the “right” place, on her forehead. Ume would definitely proudly wear it for everyone to see. Also, I changed her dress to something more Japanese traditional looking clothes. I find this piece more practical because, technically, she can take off any part, and I believe Ume would love that very much! Especially when she needs a lot of freedom in her clothes, so she prefers light materials that don't make much noise, and yet I can't let her go without my favorite type of sleeves that are actually not so practical, yet they suit her perfectly. Last thing that I did was change her shoes to something more “standart” and gave protection to her knees and elbow joints so they would be always warm and protected from her own movements.

The next thing I plan to do is finish her redesign of Shippuden. I have already begun working on it like a hundred years ago. I'm really excited to see the finished design, and I hope you will be too. Good luck! Have a wonderful day, may it be filled with smiles and laughter. :^)
