i think about this scene all the time because it's such a vizierial and traumatizing experience to have a family member relish in your fear and anger. like the feeling of becoming more and more distressed and trying to find new ways so raise your voice and express yourself because your just a kid who thinks maybe if they know how upset you really are they'll stop when in reality all they ever wanted was a rise out of you and you are playing right into their hand.

i still cant fucking believe there are people who criticize lucas, max and will for not doing anything in the sauna fight. lucas was assaulted by that man, he literally got hate crimed. will got possessed by the mind flayer and canonically has a freeze response to boot. and max? max has been terrified of billy for years, considering he's her abuser and she's forced to live with him.

mind flayer billy was their biggest trauma on fucking steroids

yeah this is all so true. max especially just had an interaction where she expressed that she really didn’t want to hurt billy and then was almost killed by him, she is in total shock and doesn’t want to hurt her step brother. and besides lucas having been assaulted/hate crimed by billy he was clearly in full protection mode of max in the moment. all of the kids were in shock and will specifically looked like he was actively having a panic attack. they are just kids they aren’t made for this

#all things considered i think it’s very endearing how lucas immediately gets max behind him especially considering his history with billy he #is still so selfless and is thinking just as much about max’s history and safety

I am incredibly disappointed in Noah Schnapp's behavior. The audacity to be so uncaring and ignorant when talking about a genocide that has killed more than 11,000 people blows my mind. I understand that he is Jewish and that he is supporting the Jewish homeland, but to disregard and make a joke of the war crimes and tragedy that has struck Palestine? That is just supporting a genocide and the mass murder of innocent people who have lives that are now being taken away. Shame on him. He is old enough to realize that what he is joking about is mass murder. He has such a big audience of young, impressionable children. He is teaching them that genocide is a joke. At this point, I can't support him. I love Stranger Things, but it is tainted now and I don't think I can be as involved as I was a few months ago. If you notice I'm not posting as much, it’s because of Noah's terrible actions. I heavily encourage all of you to support and help Palestine as much as possible. Everything helps even if it is just reblogging information about Gaza.

How can Joyce as a single mother who works a single job in sales afford a house and take care of her two sons, but Susan has to work two jobs and barely manages to rent a trailer for herself and her one daughter?

#joyce and lonnie had a mutual divorce where she got the house and he pays (or at least is supposed to pay) child support #neil left max and susan with virtually nothing - max and susan are starting over with no resources and just as importantly no support system #joyce has been in hawkins her whole life she has people like hop and karen to take the family out to dinner or let them crash on their couch #or any other little thing that can be huge when you’re in a situation like theirs #max isn’t obligated or equipped to ask her friends for help as a kid and susan is half a country away from anyone she knows #the byers and mayfields situations are both bad but not really comparable - the byers did have a lot more resources

i can guarantee you that max has gotten triggered by eddie at least once. drives like a maniac, canonically listens to the same metal as billy? yeah, she's definitely gotten triggered from hearing the screech of the tires and the sound of loud music blasting through her thin walls before.

oh yeah for sure. i’m disappointed the show didn’t explore their relationship a little more or at least allude to it bc then maybe the fandom consensus would be less “eddie is max’s surrogate brother, they both like each other and their relationship is uncomplicated” and more “max is at best annoyed by eddie, at worst triggered by his presence and eddie thinks max is weird and annoying because she never hangs out with the boys that say she’s their friend and she throws rocks at his trailer when he plays music too loud.”
