What is UraIchi Week?

It’s a week-long fanworks event to promote the Urahara Kisuke x Kurosaki Ichigo ship. There’s no sign-up, it’s just for fun, and everybody can participate. Completed works and wips are both acceptable, and any type of fanwork (fanfic, fanart, gifsets, etc.) is welcome. NSFW and/or potentially trigger-y content is allowed, although please remember to tag your works properly.

The ship itself can be written romantically or platonically, as lovers or friends or even enemies, so long as it stars these two characters together in some way. Poly ships are also fine so long as Ichigo and Kisuke are still the focus of the fanwork. And crossovers and fusions are also allowed even if it isn’t one of the given prompts for the event. Basically, anything goes, and the only criteria is that it has to be UraIchi-centric.

Kisuke’s mind whirred, recalling the electronic voice’s claim that this was his afterlife; he’d recognized that he’d transmigrated within the first moments after his return to consciousness, but into Hollow Sword Path, of all the medias? And considering the name coincidence… Was he Urahara Kisuke, kid punter and puppy kicker? Whatever higher beings there were probably weren’t that cruel, right? “Urahara-san? Has your memory been impaired?” the doctor—Unohana Retsu, peak lord of Qian Cao Peak and head of Cang Qiong Sect’s medical division, Kisuke rapidly realized—asked, a line appearing between her furrowed brows. UraIchi PC8: Crossover Edition

It's a day early but I'll be out all day today and might not be able to log on at midnight because I definitely won't make it back home by midnight, so I'm opening the collection a day early. For those of you who are raring to post, you can start anytime.

I can't believe another year of UraIchi has flown by! Happy New Year to everyone, and here's to a better, less stressful, less world-ending 2024 for all of us 🎉🎉🎉

The AO3 collection will stay open for at least the first two weeks of January, but if you know me, I'm sure you know that I never close on time anyway so there's no rush. If you have a Tumblr, remember to link your work and tag it #uraichi prompt challenge 8 so I can reblog it. You can also ping @uraichievents if you want.

The AO3 Collection has been created! It will open on December 31 at midnight (PST) and remain open for at least a week.

Welcome to this year's UraIchi Prompt Challenge! For our 8th PC, we will be focusing on crossovers!

Like we did for a previous mini-event, this year will also have a spin-the-wheel component. For PC8, you will be spinning for at least one random fandom and creating a crossover fanwork with it. A total of 300 different fandoms were nominated in the space of a week, so you'll have plenty to choose from. For most of them, I tried to copy the fandom names straight from the AO3 tags. The only exceptions are if they're not on AO3, or if I thought a catch-all name suited it better (ie. Marvel Comics (Any) because there are just too many of them, and this way you can pick whichever Marvel comic/movie/etc. you want). But overall, all fandoms that were nominated have been included in one of the wheels.

Before we get into that though, here are the rules for PC8:

1) Fanworks must be UraIchi-centric and complete. Obviously, this year, they must also be crossovers in some shape or form. UraIchi can be romantic or platonic (lovers, friends, family, enemies, etc.), so long as you can stick a / or an & between them, and they and their interactions are the main focus. 2) Any kind of fanwork is allowed if you can pull it off (fic, art, vid, gifset, etc.). There is no word limit for fics. 3) Poly ships are fine so long as UraIchi is in there somewhere. 4) The general definition of a crossover is a fanwork where two or more fandoms are combined in some way. For the purpose of this event, dimension travel, fusions, isekai, reincarnation, and resurrection would all count so long as your work includes at least one other fandom outside of Bleach. Likewise, Bleach must obviously be one of the fandoms. Basically, so long as Bleach and 1+ Other Fandom(s) are combined in some way, starring UraIchi as the main characters, then you should be good. If you are unsure whether your idea of a crossover counts, you can always send in an ask to check.

As I mentioned before, I used Wheel Decide to make the wheels, but each wheel has a limit of 100 items, so since we ended up with 300 fandoms, I've had to split it into 3 wheels.

There's no specific theme or category for each wheel. I threw everything into a random choice generator, and then threw the results onto each wheel in batches of 100, so it's all random, and you can play this in a number of ways. You could just pick one wheel, spin, and get your fandom that way. You could also spin two or three wheels, and then pick your favourite out of the fandoms you get. Or you could spin all three wheels and write a four-fandom crossover like a crazy person. The point is, there's pretty much no wrong way to go about cobbling together your crossover.

If you want to submit more than one fanwork, feel free to spin for as many as you want to write/draw/etc. (of course, they should all be complete). And yes, you can spin more than once if you're really stuck on the fandom you get, or you just don't know the fandom at all.

More importantly, for the fandom "Monosuke", I don't know what that is, I can't find it on ao3, and googling only gave me a character from Danganronpa, so is this a typo? Did you mean Mononoke or something else? I'm not sure if you're following this blog, but if I don't get a reply within the next couple days, I'll have to strike it off the list.

Due to the unexpected enthusiasm for PC8's fandom submissions this year, I have decided to close the poll a bit earlier than the projected September 20th deadline. It will instead be closed on SEPTEMBER 8TH, so you have another 3 days to consider, very carefully, whether or not you have anymore fandoms you wish to nominate. However, I will close it earlier if we hit 300 fandoms before then, whichever comes first.

Hello, we're back for our annual December prompt challenge! This year's mini-event will be another spin-the-wheel challenge, but the overarching theme will be Crossovers!

The general definition of a crossover is a fanwork where two or more fandoms are combined in some way. For the purpose of this event, dimension travel, fusions, isekai, reincarnation, and resurrection would all count so long as your work includes at least one other fandom outside of Bleach.

Like last time, I'll be using https://wheeldecide.com/ to make the wheel, but the pool of crossovers will be decided by you guys! You can list up to SEVEN FANDOMS down below, and I'll throw them all in for the event. Once the official event post is up, participants can spin for their crossover, and whichever one you get will be what you cross over with Bleach (yes, you can spin more than once if you're really stuck on the one you get, or you just don't know the fandom at all). Obviously, the UraIchi ship (romantic or platonic, lovers, friends, family, enemies, etc., so long as you can stick a / or an & between them, all's good) would have to be the focus, but poly is also allowed.

Q&A for UraIchi PC8

Q: Can I choose 2 fandoms to crossover with UraIchi? A: You can choose as many fandoms as you want to crossover. So long as it's Bleach (UraIchi) crossed with at least one other fandom, you're good. I'll mention this in the official post when it goes up later, but if you want to do more than one fandom, then you can just spin the wheel more than once to get however many fandoms you want. Q: Does it have to be a oneshot only or can I do one with multichapters? A: For PC events, the general rule is that it has to be finished. So you can write a oneshot or a multi-chapter fic, but it has to be complete. Q: Can I write more than one fic? A: You are absolutely welcome to write more than one fic. Write as many as you want, so long as each one is finished.
