Pagan Temples

yall pagan temples were SO cool, such a shame that Theodosius and his christian amigos decided to burn them all down.

like imagine going to a Hellenic temple weekly and in different areas there is a worship area for each Olympian god. Like a MASSIVE public altar in each corner and you are given a candle and lighter when you enter and you can choose the deity area of your choice, and weekly there will kinda like, be a public praying session, aloud guided by someone at each area. Like they will recruit someone who worships each of the Olympians and it will be their job everyday to go down and take care of the altar of their god and to pray alloud.

There is something so beautiful and sweet to me about the fact that Thanatos is the god of peaceful death.

When I die, I want Death to greet me as an old, childhood friend - unknown yet so familiar, intimidating yet so comforting. I want Death to take me gently by the hand, whisper in my ear, "It'll be alright," and help me stand to my feet as I walk towards a new life - a different kind of life - in a place I may have seen in a dream once.

I hope Thanatos greets me, in my final moments, with the softness and sweetness of an old friend. To me, that is peaceful. And it's so beautiful that he is so willing to provide such comforts to humans in their official transition from one plane of existence to the next. How kind, how compassionate, how admirable.

Death is a friend, in the end, and he smiles softly as he takes your hand.

🔥 Subtle Hestia Worship 🥖

Clean your room/house; keep your home in good condition

Make your space your own; decorate your room/home in a way that makes you feel good

Help out with household chores

Bake pastries for those you love, especially those topped with honey or cinnamon

Drink a soothing tea or hot chocolate; any sort of comfort drink; add honey to it if you can

Eat comfort food, especially from childhood

Have a picture of her in your wallet

Make a bonfire for her; gather around it with loved ones

If you have a fireplace, spend time around it

Have a candle that reminds you of her (no altar needed)

Wear jewelry that reminds you of her

Have a stuffed animal of a pig, cow, or donkey; have any stuffed animal, really

Have imagery of cranes, fire, or kettles around

Try veiling in honor of her, if able

Try growing poppy or hollyhock flowers

Volunteer at a homeless shelter

Make a warm meal for someone in need

Give baked goods to neighbors

Learn how to cook or bake

Care for yourself physically and mentally

Be as kind to yourself as you are to others

Practice modesty (this does not mean never celebrating or taking pride in yourself)

The quasi-coven I’m in had our season opener today (shoutout fellow Lunar Faire attendees!)/ Beltane / full moon / eclipse celebration. They had a maypole, a real one, and it was so beautiful and I was so overwhelmed with joy and excitement when I saw it I almost cried. I then teared up a little when I was able to secure one of the ribbons and dance around it. It was such a magical experience!! Anyways happy early Beltane and just a happy spring in general everyone. Having a relationship with the gods feels like making your room ice cold and snuggling into all your blankets. Exposed to the outside, you are freezing, uncomfortable, unable to rest. But within the safety of the blankets you have never been more comfortable and content. In the back of your mind you know you can’t always be wrapped up in your blankets. That in the morning, you will need to leave and face the world. But just as we need sleep, we will always eventually return to their embrace, and when you do, for a moment, you don’t care about morn’ or anything outside, and you are finally present just before you take their hands and allow yourself to slip away.

Hello internet witches!! I’m not exactly in the closet per se, but I am fairly private about my practice. I also work with multiple deities closely and wanted to way to wear something for all of them at once. Anyway my solution to this problem was to make beaded devotional braclets with colors I associated with my deities. You could get more elaborate than I did even.

In order top to bottom we have Aphrodite, Artemis & Hestia
