It’s that time of the year again! Last year’s challenge was a huge success and a lot of you were asking if there’s going to be another one this year, so here we go!

What is Draecember?

Draecember is an event for all draenei fans out there, created with the intention of celebrating our favorite WoW race in a creative way and enjoying each other’s work! The event starts on December 1st and ends on the 31st.

Rules:

Draw your draenei or write a short story about them.

You can follow the prompt lists, but if you don’t feel like following them, you can also come up with original ideas!

As said before, you don’t need to keep up with the lists. If you can’t keep up for whatever reason, that’s fine! Create as much as you like, even just one drawing/short story is already amazing!

Please try to keep it SFW! I know sometimes it’s tempting to make NSFW pieces, but I want to keep the challenge safe for younger folks. Thank you!

IT'S A GOO-GUN!

*context: the Shadowrunning team has spent the whole night failing to sneak onto a cruise ship to aquire the objective. It has been a long night (closing in on 3am), lots of combat, everyone is tired, and glad that it’s almost done.* GM: you come around through the lobby but at the top of the grand stairs is a dark figure from which emanates the piercing whine of a chain-gun! *rather than getting invigorated, the players look dismayed. GM glances at all the character sheets and realizes the whole team is shot to hell, and won’t take even a single turn against a minigun* GM: the guard has surprise, and opens up first with the chain-gun. The air around you is filled with a mixture of tracer and gel rounds. Decker: Awe shit! It’s a Goo-Gun! Street-sami: You’ve got to be kidding me…? Shaman: Is this the Disco deck?? Rigger: Who loads-out a chain-gun for crowd control?!?! *three rounds of combat later, the guard is dead but the whole lobby is slimed like a scene from Ghostbusters. Everyone has slipped and fallen onto the well-lubed carpet* Shaman: I feel violated. Decker: …and sticky!

Wolf of Farore - Season 3 Sneak Peek and Announcements

Announcements under the jump as I’m sure people just wanna see the writing.  As with the other sneak peek for Season 2, this IS subject to change as I edit and prepare and everything.  So, here is the sneak peek at Season 3 of The Wolf of Farore!

There was smoke on the horizon.  Steel clashed and echoed in her ears.  The smell of blood and piss filled her nostrils as she urged her horse in its full gallop across the battlefield.  She didn’t even know really how the war had started completely, nor did she care about the details at this exact moment.  All she wanted was to put as much distance between her and the monster that was hot on her heels.  Her focus was forward, into the melee in front of her.  Kingdom soldiers were fighting and dying with Tribe warriors. The ground was slick with mud made from blood and the recent rains.  She saw three fireballs arc across the sky.  The first crashed into the dirt behind her, screams of the people thrown into the air and incinerated from the explosion.  The second landed to her right.  With a shriek, she flew from the horse and into the mud.

 As she forced herself to her hands and knees, she saw the third crash several feet far in front of her. In front of her an iron knuckle stood, clutching its axe in both hands, illuminated by fires that burned behind it. She saw its bulk clank and clatter towards her.  It swept its axe in an arc down towards her, digging into the ground as the blade landed. She pulled her crossbow from her back as she rolled back away from it, aiming.  Her hands were shaking from adrenaline and the chaos, but she managed to shoulder the weapon.  The axe was pulled out of the dirt.  As it was lifted over their head, she fired.  The inferno bolt pierced the already damaged chest plate and there was a flash as the magic ignited within.  She heard the warrior within begin to scream, the shape of the helmet and armor creating a terrifying bellow as they flailed and dropped their axe.  The girl got to her feet and rushed away, not looking back as the Tribe warrior dropped to their knees.

 Without a horse, she now ran, slipping in the mud a little as she rushed through bushes and over toppled trees.  She didn’t stop, but looked over her shoulder to see if anyone was following her.   When she looked back, she ran right into someone.  They spun around and fell.  The young woman instinctively pulled one of her hand crossbows from her hip and aimed it at the other person.  A terrified look was on the girl’s face, probably about the same age as she was and just as terrified.  Her dark robes were stained with blood and the markings along the sleeves indicated she was a tribe witch.  She watched as they struggled in the dirt, scooting away and getting to her feet before rushing in the way she’d come from.

 She kept running once she got to her feet, not bothering to pick up her dropped bag and the old telescope within it, heading away from the edge of the battle when she felt a pain in the back of her leg.  The girl stumbled from it, but forced herself from not falling.  Again, she turned around and had her hand crossbow raised. At what she saw, she pulled the trigger repeatedly.  Silver bolt after bolt flew at the pursuer she’d crossed nearly half of Hyrule to escape was almost upon her, but they were deflected by their dark blade.  She quickly reloaded the weapon then, but in that time darkness took her and the weapon snapped in half as the sword sliced through it…

Hi everybody!  A couple little housekeeping things.  The first one I won’t be beating around the bush with: 

The Wolf of Farore will no longer be getting posted here.  The big reason behind it is the formatting of it for tumblr has caused me headaches.  To say nothing of how the linking of it is not cooperating with me.  It will still be getting posted on my Ao3 account (link in the sidebar).  I WILL still be posting oneshot pieces set in the AU  and all here though as well as there as I don’t have to worry as much about the linking of everything.   Also taking questions and all too here for it and other things.

Secondly; I’m also going to be trying to expand out of my fusion fic into other writings and all.  I’ve even toyed with the possibility of another tumblr specifically for my original writings and other things too.  But for the moment, no.

That’s about it really.  I’m gonna be starting NaNo next month and if there is another one, we’ll be seeing more of Vylia’s adventures in Azeroth.  Also, a little bit of fun for Halloween which I’ll be getting posted this weekend.
