jo march really was like. i love the people around me and i cannot cope with them leaving and being mature and appealing enough to start new chapters in their lives while i'm still clinging into this idealised, carefree, comedy-like lifestyle i thought was gonna last forever. and i really thought platonic relationships could replace my repressed longing for a romantic one but now all my loved ones' first priorities became romance. meanwhile i cannot put myself out seeking a romantic relationship because that would automatically mean altering, belittleing, objectifying and compromising myself, my life would become a cliche with guaranteed unhappy ending because i feel like no one in this world could truly make me happy. and i do want to embrace my independent, single lifestyle but i guess i didnt calculate back then how lonely it's going to feel. it's like my only choice is between two types of unhappiness. jo march conveyed all this stuff and i'm not supposed to tear up just thinking about that goddamn movie???

welcome back bitches to another instalment of “warnette as taylor swift songs”

this episode will be (i think) the first song in this series from speak now (aka my favourite album) SPARKS FLY

okay in the past with this series, i’ve put my reasoning at the end, but i think for this song i’m just putting my warnette thoughts after each of the lines to make more sense, okay? okay.

i mean this kinda feels self explanatory. when warnette first get together in ignite me, her confession is pretty much the same vibes as this. the idea of just “fuck it, i love you and i want you love me”. plus you could interpret the “take away the pain” line about juliette taking away the pain of aaron losing leila with her love and affection.

Get me with those green eyes, baby

Gimme something that'll haunt me whenever you're not around

first of all, aaron is pretty much known for having green eyes in the series, it’s like his special thing. plus juliette is always referencing his green eyes and how captivating they are. also, many times throughout the series in juliette’s monologue will reference the memory of aaron’s lips all over her body. which i think is safe to call “haunting her when he’s not around”.

his dimples. the fact she’s the only one who sees his smile like ever. very self explanatory.

My mind forgets to remind me, your a bad idea

this more so applies to the first half of the series when she’s falling for him as juliette and not ella. during that time they fell in love, falling for aaron was VERY much a “bad idea” for her. but there’s so many instances where his comfort makes her forget for a moment. like the pager scene in ignite me. developing feelings for aaron was extremely risky, but the comfort and safety he made her feel made her forget (temporarily) how bad of an idea it was.

You touch me once and it's really something

You find I'm even better than you, imagined I would be

pretty much just juliette finally being able to feel safe touching someone and how different loving juliette/ella is compared to a certain ex girlfriend i refuse to name. especially since aaron mentions throughout the series how unreal loving juliette/ella feels and how it’s even better than he thought it could be.

I'm on my guard for the rest of the world

But with you I know its no good

juliette literally IS on guard for the rest of the world. she constantly has to be alert for anyone, but with aaron she can just be herself and doesn’t have to worry.

And I could wait patiently

But I really wish you would

same idea as earlier with the ignite me love confession of wanting aaron to give into his feelings for her now that she’s ready to love him
