After a few moments of silence, I feel someone slip under the covers beside me, the scent of cinnamon floating around as he wraps an arm around me. Orion’s breath hits the back of my neck as his fingers brush my hair gently.

“Hold on, Blue.” He whispered, “Everything will be alright soon. It has to be.”

“I know…” The words came out rather doubtful, “I don’t really wanna think about that right now.”

“You need a distraction” Orion mutters as his fingers reach under my shirt and started drawing circles

“Lance,” I try to him hand but his free hand reaches for my arm and folds it back “What are you doing?”

“It’s been a while since I heard you laugh, Blue,” He states in his professor voice while his fingers move poke my ribs “I miss it.”

“Dont.” I squirmed, trying to get out of his grip. His fingers start to feel colder against my skin as he spiders up and down my side.

“L-Lahahahance!” I whined in my laughter “Stahahahahap using your magic”

“Tickles even more, doesn’t it?” Orion teases. His hands suddenly switched positions and in a split second one fingers were scratching the back of my neck while the others were fluttering against my torso. His fingers were icy cold now.

“NO NOAHAHAHAHAHAHA LAANCE” I shrieked my giggled hysterically as I curled into him as if it would do anything “I WIHIHIHIHILL BURN YOUAHAHAHAHA”

“I’ll immobilize your magic if you do” He simply sang back. His fangs grazing across my skin to prove a point. His one hand moves down to my back while the other one remains on my belly. Orion draws zig zags all over my back and spirals on my stomach. At this point I just eased into his tickles, giggling and scooting closer into his warmth. His fingers come to a stop after a few minutes.

“Don’t stop the back ones, Lance” I turn to face him and nuzzle into his chest

“Whatever you want, beautiful” He pulls me in, his lips landing on mine softly, sharing a kiss for a short while. His fingers go back to tracing my back absentmindedly.

“I love you,” I whisper, my eyes remained closed and I drift off to sleep with the words that give me the strength to get up each day no matter how bad things are looking right now and fight until the end. The words I never want to stop hearing ever.

“I love you, Blue. I will always be yours just as you will always be mine. And not even the stars can change that.”

My gaze shot to him. “If you’re suggesting what I think you are, I am going to stab you in the heart again.” Casteel’s eyes flashed a warm honey. “Don’t tempt me with empty promises.”

Oh my gosh I have to vent somewhere I finished Covet yesterday the minute I got it and told myself I was going to finish. Overall I loved it and I absolutely adored and loved the Hudson moment ❤️ one section towards chapters 160-165 were truly some of my Favorite scenes between them. It was slow in some sections but definitely can’t wait for book 4!

Ok last thing I’m gonna say about acosf tonight I promise.

I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed when SJM doesn’t demonize the IC. Because she won’t. She wrote 4 books centered around Feyre/Feysand and the IC, and obviously loves those characters even if she sees the flaws that she wrote them with. Is there gonna be real talk? I’m sure of it. But that doesn’t mean they’re going to come out and suddenly treat the IC like trash. There’s not going to be scenes and talks where they say that Feyre and Rhys suck as rulers. They’re not going to say that Mor is a horrible person. They’re not going to condem everything the IC has ever done. And if that’s what you’re expecting from this book then you’re going to be disappointed. Why would SJM spend three novels building the relationships of these main characters and then go back and attack them all viciously? That makes no sense. So if you want to not be disappointed with acosf, don’t set yourself up to be. Be prepared that Nesta may apologize to the IC or Feyre. Be prepared that Cassian probably won’t turn on all his closest friends because of Nesta’s past pain. Be prepared for the fact that while we are getting a different look at the IC, it most likely will not be an entirely negative one. You can love Nesta and Cassian and wish the best for them without tearing the IC limb from limb. You can like Nesta AND Rhys AND Mor AND Lucien And and and... you understand what I’m saying.

Does this mean that you HAVE to like those characters? No. Does it mean you HAVE to like acosf? No. I’m just saying that if you go in expecting SJM to completely tear apart the characters she has spent years loving and writing, then you will be disappointed.

i hate finishing books after getting so emotionally invested in characters because they feel like real people and like they’re my friends but then the series ends and suddenly they’re gone and it’s like the worst goodbye
