guess who's back yet again but only to post their jon sims and cats fanart and disappear. this is becoming a pattern.
anyway, here's a doodle of jon and the admiral, this time right before everything went to hell in season three <3 hopefully next year i manage a full illustration lol
happy jon sims and cats day, everyone<3
[I.D.: a digital illustration of jon sims and the admiral from the magnus archives in a light yellow and green background. jon is a Black person with greying curly hair, most of which is tied in a high bun. he has circular scars on his face, neck and hand, dark circles under his eyes, and a shallow beard. the admiral is a fluffy grey cat who is happily curled up on jon's shoulder, tail wrapped around his neck and eyes closed as if napping. the admiral is leaning against jon's face, and jon's left eye is closed while the right one is gazing softly at the cat. his left hand rests on the admiral's fur, somewhere between supporting his weight and petting him while he sleeps. jon is smiling. close to the bottom left corner is the artist's signature: coelho. end I.D.]
For the occasion of @jonsimsandcats day I bound a pamphlet for one of my favourite cat fics, Gravity and Waggery by lyres!
I had a lot of fun with the typeset and especially the cover (I used this Penguin clothbound cover generator). My previous pamphlets have been relatively simple but being able to print on cardstock has so many opportunities for more elaborate designs, I really need to do more of them.
when your ex is out grocery shopping so you get to have a snack and a cuddle with her cat in her comfortable recording studio chair (redraw of this) // happy jon sims and cats day 2024 @jonsimsandcats
What if Gerry knew Jon from Jon's college band days when he would go wandering at night to get away from his mother and wandered into the pub they were playing at? What if Gerry had a crush the kind of kind of gangly guy who had long, nimble fingers on strong, hands and a perpetually chapped lower lip that got caught between slightly upper teeth when he ripped out a heavy bass solo. What if Gerry was thinking about talking to him and had finally worked up the courage to do so one night but a confident black woman with a million micro braids in her bob brushed past him and greeted Jon, one hand coming up to rest on the sliver of skin peeking out between Jon's tee and the waistband of his ratty jeans? What if Gerry thought Jon was straight and, before he had time to find out Jon was available and had been looking back, Mary ruined everything by mangling herself with the skin book? What if they both recognized each other when Jon summons Gerry, mere feet away from Julia and Trevor, but neither says anything because what difference does it make? Gerry is dead and Jon might as well be his murderer.
ok im really curious do you guys have books you consider your "white whale"? as in books you keep telling yourself oh yeah i really want to read that, but you keep not reading it?
Okay! Obviously, I love Wolf 359. The available scripts for Wolf 359 are recording scripts, meaning they're inaccurate in a ton of places when it comes to finalized or improvised dialogue, and don't function well as transcripts (especially since the scripts for the live show and some of the mini episodes were never made available.) That said, I think everyone should read the scripts; the sheer amount of physical description that you can feel in the show, even if you can't see it... I guarantee it will enhance your listening experience. Most visual show to ever be an audio drama. So, in pursuit of both of these goals at once, I went over every word in the scripts, and wrote up new scripts for the unavailable ones. Some of the sound effects described - especially in early episodes - might not line up exactly, because I didn't want to mess with the non-dialogue portion of the show, but I hope this strikes a good balance and can be a useful resource.
So excited to share my latest bind! This is a Good Omens fic called Pray for Us, Icarus by Atalan/@brightwanderer 💐
I went a little nuts with the floral designs in this one. The cover was so much fun to put together, and I somehow managed to match the bookcloth color to the headband color perfectly. I also made the chapter headers look like Aziraphale was gathering his bouquet from Crowley throughout the years:
I can’t add another photo on mobile, but Part 7 has two wine glasses with apple slices 🥰
