He glances at the blade in the other’s hand and finds amusement in the fact it’s being lowered. Gabriel’s lips twitch in a half smile, wondering if there’s some kind of solidarity in the comfort of finding someone who’s similar to you. In this case, somehow they’re not both human.

“If this helps any at all...I’m the better brother.”

Gabriel attempts a flirtatious eyebrow wiggle, as is it’s in his nature. After all, the vessel standing before him has appealing...features.

“If that doesn’t ring a bell...My name is Gabriel.”

It’s immediate, Gabriel’s impression of the other. Rather odd, actually. And what a shame he can’t see the grace of this angel, or even know he’s an angel as well. Gabriel is unaware of the luminous and the divine light. It’s a missing beauty.

“Come now, you already know I am not human. Surely someone as quick witted as you would be able to guess.”

A smirk plays on Gabriel’s lips and the angel blade does not deter him. He raises his hand in a friendly gesture, opening himself up to vulnerability as well as a semi symbolic sign of surrender. Though he’d never actually do that; surrendering is never a choice.

He sighs and eyes roll. The archangel doesn’t give the other any time to respond, but at the same time his answer is vague and barely answers Balthazar’s question.

“I’m an archangel.”

His eyes stopped on a rather strange phenomenon. It was an angel, or so the familiarity his Grace felt told him it was, but it also wasn’t because he wasn’t met with any Grace he knew or any form of Grace he was used to feel.

It didn’t take him long to get his angel blade out of his sleeve.

“My, my, would you look at that. It’s an ape, but not an ape, but an ape.”

He tilted his head.

“What exactly are you?”
