Looking back on how things went down

If you’re reading this . . . first of all, thank you! 

The love department isn’t many of us’ forte, I’m almost positive that’s a fact!

My last relationship has been the one to hurt me THEE WORST, but as I’m sitting here next to my window, doing home office, thinking on this new guy I’m getting to know, and what I look for in my next relationship . . . I was inspired to write this little “letter” to you all.

One of the things I really did HATE the most about my last partner was the fact that I was hesitant on letting him know that I LOVED HIM (mind you, I had never been in LOVE before). Sitting here and thinking about that just really makes me cringe. LIKE WHAT KIND OF PERSON WAS I WITH TO MAKE ME FEEL THAT WAY WHEN WE WERE ALREADY IN A “SERIOUS” RELATIONSHIP!!!!! That should’ve have been a major red flag, but anyway, I’ve learned now.

I am a women who is reaching the 30 year mark this year and, a hopeless romantic, who wears her heart on her sleeve (most of the time) . . . I WANT to find someone who makes me feel safe in their presence and safe enough to not feel “scared” in expressing exactly what it is that I feel!

Yes, you’re right, it is something not that complicated! HOWEVER, when you haven’t reached a certain level yet and have issues setting boundaries and/or making sure you’re heard and understood . . . A LOT of shit is passed because of “fear”.

Ladies and fellas . . . I’m almost postitive that we all have fallen a victim of the above. The most important thing, tho, is to learn from it, tap into your most sensitive inner YOU, and understand that this is NOT something you are deserving of!

C H I C A G O always coming through!! 

Epic Burger is a chain in Chicago with a decent online ordering app, strong COVID protocols, and pretty good food. I rediscovered them sometime in November, when my options for takeaway were dwindling due to the weather. They’ve got an outpost close to my building and I like me a hamburger, so while I don’t go out much, if I’m in the area I’ll usually make it my last stop before heading home. 

It’s a relatively limited menu, so I always get the same to-go order: two hamburgers and an order of fries. They’re hefty burgers so it’s about four meals’ worth of food for me, and thus a pretty good bargain for under twenty bucks.

But that means the price is always exactly the same. And I now go there often enough that the last time I looked at my bank account, the Chase app helpfully suggested to me that EPIC BURGER STATE appeared to be a recurring payment, and offered to help set up an auto pay to cover it. 

I can’t decide which is more embarrassingly funny: the staff learning my name, or the bank thinking my go-to burger joint is a biweekly utility bill.
