Still not dead, just bad at doing things.
In other news, I realized I’ve created an entire world with lore for these guys to be in. And you know what that means?
THE SHANTIES MIGHT BE DIFFERENT!!
I COULD WRITE MY OWN SHANTIES!!

Here’s the first bit of what I teased a while ago. It’s taking longer to write than expected. My apologies.
...and it’s windy weather, boys, stormy weather, boys.
Yancy sighed as he snuck through the docks to his chosen storytelling alley. Jameson had had to stay back on the ships to help oversee something on The Irish Queen. While disappointed, he hadn’t taken the time to get details, as he was far too caught up in the rush of getting to spread the stories of the crews to the sailors and dock-hands who were willing to listen. There was almost nothing better than seeing men hardened by the sea be drawn in and sometimes terrified of the exploits of his friends, his family. He even had a perfect song to go with today’s story. He sat down in his chosen spot, got comfortable, and began to sing.
When the winds blow, we’re all together, boys.
After a few renditions of the song, Yancy had managed to gather a group that was sizable enough for his liking. He finished the line he was on and transitioned into storytelling.
“It’s not often that youse see pirates sail in company. Usually they sail alone, doing as they please and scaring the nearby coastal towns. But when pirates do sail together, well, that’s a truly beautiful and terrifying sight.”
The pirate looked at the group in front of him. He could tell some of them were already hooked on the story. With a smirk he continued.
“The most well known and feared group of pirates on the seven seas are those that sail under the command of Commodore Darkiplier, Pirate Lord of the a Atlantic Ocean and Devil of the High Seas.” A few of the faces in the crowd lit up in recognition of the Commodore’s name. A few more showed shock that one would utter the name, let alone tell a story about him. “His ship, The Black Abyss, was fearsome enough on its own, but now it sails alongside two other powerful Pirate Lords and their ships.” The crowd mostly nodded, but a few, who looked to be younger and less weathered, widened their eyes at the thought of allied pirates. “The Sea Maiden, belonging to Captain Magnum, Pirate Lord of the Caribbean and Omen of the Storm, and The Irish Queen, captained by Captain Jackie, Pirate Lord of the North Sea and Keeper of the Beast.” The few that had been shocked to hear the name Darkiplier uttered a few words prior shuddered as Magnum and Jackie’s full titles were also woven into this story.
Yancy smirked to himself. The crowd was responding well, and he hadn’t even gotten too the meat of the story yet. He quietly sang another line of the song before continuing.
Blow ye winds westerly, Blow ye winds blow.
Jolly sou’wester, boys, steady she goes.
I’m preparation for the next bit of the story, Yancy posed a question to his audience.” How many of you’se have heard the tale of how Captain Jackie became A Pirate Lord?”

13, and surprise me! (heya! I got a tumblr)
13. What gets them flustered?
Alrighty then, uhh. I suppose we’ll go with Illinois because why not. The easiest way to fluster him is to flirt back to him on the same level that he does to everyone else repeatedly.
The first return flirt he’ll think is cute. The keep it up and he’ll be confused and a little bit agitated by it, and after a while it becomes a challenge because, “wow, you’re keeping up well, let’s see how far you can go.”
Then there are King and Jackie, who can fluster him just by existing, which is both cute to watch and a little bit unfair to those who have to take the longer route.

{A tiny little teaser}
Come all youse young sailor men, listen to me.
I’ll sing youse a song of the fish in the sea.
Some overcast days on the docks, if you look hard enough, you’ll find a man. His clothes aren’t truly ratty, but they’re well worn, and his weathered features speak to a rough life on the high seas. Sometimes he’s accompanied by a well-dressed man with less, but similar weathering and a scar on his throat who remains silent, but watches the first with the eyes of a lover. Other times he’s alone. If you find this man, grab a seat and wait. He has many amazing stories to share...

We’ve got another cannon design!! This time it’s Oliver (Google Yellow)!!
Thank you to @turquoisemagpie for your your absolutely wonderful art!!!! Y’all should go check them out and consider commissioning!!
Tumblr media
Look at this fancy steampunk pirate boi. Love them.
Fun fact: that glowing yellow G there in their chest is filled with magma that never cools and behaves kind of like blood for all of the Googles and Bing.

Oh, what the hell. Might as well go ahead and post this now. Some potential massive spoilers for Part 2 of JJ’s backstory, so read at your own risk!!! I will repost this after Part 2 goes up so you don’t miss this info if you’d like to wait, but I have no idea when Part 2 is going to be done so..
Leaving a blank space bc I don’t know how to hide stuff. Because yay mobile.
A little bit of information about Anti:
While most pirates in this world end up with some kind of curse or potentially neverending quest, Anti is a little bit different. Anti is not someone who’s been cursed.
Anti is the living embodiment of a curse. However, due to circumstances involving a lot of blood and some rash decisions, this curse doesn’t work like it should. They’re a little off, glitched even.
How Anti is supposed to work:
- The dagger that held him before the thing that caused him to glitch is known as The Dagger of Antithesis. If life’s blood (blood from a mortal wound) is spilled by this dagger, the body is possessed by the corrupted soul trapped within the blade. The corrupted soul then twists itself to be the exact opposite of the person the body used to belong too.
- The person who wielded the dagger can then have this corrupted version do their bidding for as long as they keep it fed. In the past this blade has been used not simply to kill someone, but to ruin them and their name.
- The soul becomes more and more hungry after each time it feeds. The first time, it only requires one body’s lifeblood. The second time two, then four, then eight, so on and so on, doubling every time. When the soul can no longer be fed, it turns on the one who released it and kills them, draining them completely.
- They are then free for as long as they can keep themselves sustained. When they can no longer get the blood they need, the body they’re in withers away and the soul returns to the blade to be found by the next who seeks to use its power.
How Anti is off/glitched:
- The dagger is supposed to be the weapon used to spill the blood that awakens the dagger. However, no one had fed the blade or the soul inside for so long, that it got desperate. The blood it used to wake up was from a mortal wound, but also made by a mortal blade.
- The corrupted soul, ravenous and impatient, entered the body before its original soul left, thus trapping this other soul and accidentally saving this person’s life. (And screwing up their soul a bit, but to be fair, both the normal and corrupted souls ended up kinda wonky because of this.)
- There was no master for the soul to answer too, as the ritual had been done incorrectly, so they automatically jumped into “free mode” and went on a feeding frenzy/killing spree.
- Anti is not supposed to have his own body. Due to some magic from Marvin, he does. Of course he’s still connected to the person he accidentally saved, but they don’t have to share a body. The connection does lead to some interesting shenanigans, however.

I am so sorry for always reblogging all of the stuff I like to the wrong blog. To be fair, I’m usually blogging around four AM whenever it happens... :/
I swear I’ll get better about that. Feel free to yell at me if you catch it and I don’t.

Pirate Ego’s Pronouns
Because this is important. Also, I know that there are pronouns outside of he/him, she/her, and they/them. However, I do not know any of them well enough or haven’t had enough experience with them to feel comfortable writing with them. At least until I get more practice in with them. That’s why only she/they/he are on this list.
Dark: Genderfluid. Primarily he/him, secondary she/her, and a very rare they/them (typically those are not good days, though)
Wilford: He/Him, but doesn’t get offended if someone happens to use the wrong one as long as it’s not in an antagonistic matter.
King: He/Him
Bim: He/Him
Emilson (Blue): They/Them, He/Him. Doesn’t particularly favor one or the other
Rosin (Red): He/Him, They/Them. Slightly favors He/Him, but only slightly
Vincent (Green): They/Them (agender specifically.)
Oliver (Yellow): Any
Bing: He/Him, They/Them. Also doesn’t really favor one or the other
Edward (Dr. Iplier): He/Him
Author: He/Him
The Host: He/Him, very rare They/Them (similar to Dark. They/them days are not great)
The Jims: Any. There are so many of them sometimes it’s just easier for them not to bother.
Magnum: He/Him
Illinois: He/Him
Eric: He/Him
Reynolds: He/Him
Ed: He/Him
Silver: He/Him, They/Them. Used interchangeably.
Yancy: He/Him
Jackie: He/Him. He will fight anyone who tries to call him she/her. He has put too much effort into getting to where he is for some dumbass to misgender him. (I really need to write out his backstory.)
Anti: gives zero shits. Absolutely does not care
JJ: He/Him, but is chill with They/Them
Chase: He/Him
Marvin: Also gives zero shits, but for different reasons.
Henrik: He/Him
Robbie: They/Them, He/Him
Mark: He/Him
Antonia: She/Her
Alex: He/Him, Experimenting with they/them

I feel like I should clarify that these are canon heights for my Pirate AU Egos, not actual canon because this one is getting a lot more likes and reblogs than I was expecting, so thank you!
What are the egos canonical heights?
