MalleYuuWeek2022 Day 5
Had some fun with this prompt.
It’s never a good idea to be paired with Ace and Grim, seeing how they always seem to poke at each others buttons more than anyone else.
5. Bad Idea
Yuu covered his face in the rare display of embarrassment as he looks at the personal blog Lilia had given him a virtual permission to view and he’s mixed between wanting to strangle Grim and Ace and frustrated at not having any memory of the past three days since the potion accident caused by the former duo.
It started with a regular class with Crewel, Yuu’s sole task was keeping the potion stirring, having answered the questions correctly and, therefore, not allowed to say anything while his lab partners, Ace and Grim, have to prove they’ve done their homework.
Yuu was wearing the protective gear, and then some because of his partners for today; even Crewel seemed wary of the matchup.
It was going well at first.
And then it didn’t.
It started when one of them said something, at this point either could’ve started it, causing an argument, which made Yuu go with the mistake of taking off his face mask to tell them to stop with their bullshit.
At that moment Ace was teasing Grim, making the monster throw something harmless at the redhead’s head, which he dodged by ducking, but that caused a domino effect when the harmless object, a rag, hit another work desk equipment, catapulting whatever substance to the shelves, knocking some bottles, making a couple fall onto another work desk that was close, making the guys there quickly scramble away from it, only for one of the guys to knock a vial off of another desk, which somehow landed in the pot that Yuu was stirring.
And explosion happened, but all he remembered was a forced push, a bitter smell, and blackness.
From Lilia’s, Cater’s, and even Ortho’s accounts…
He had been turned into a toddler, three years old to be exact.
And apparently three year old him adored Malleus the most; to the point where the fae prince had you on his person for the last three days.
Even Azul had a couple pictures of Malleus and baby him enjoying a few meals in Mostro.
Cater somehow convinced Malleus to do matching dress up, and convincing Vil and Crewel to design outfits while the fae prince brought the designs to reality.
Ortho had pictures of them doing everyday things:
Reading under the tree or library; apparently he’s a well-behaved toddler. Going to Sam’s shop and being dazzled by the knick-knacks and enjoying some ice pops. Being in class while baby him doodled and colored next to him. And even one with Silver with some animals.
But it was Lilia that had the most embarrassing photos of all:
Him being bathed along with a disgruntled Grim. Him throwing up on Sebek, and somehow getting Lilia’s… mashed potato casserole in Sebek’s shoes, breaking a couple of Silver’s alarm clocks, and drawing on Malleus’s and Silver’s faces.
The next day after witnessing the photos, he begged and bribed Grim to stay out of trouble for a few hours, as well as told Jamil he owes him a dozen and then some favors for this.
Jamil tried to correct him by saying it was only one favor, in which he reminded that this was Grim, and there’s Kalim. The Scarabia Vice Leader agreed after that.
After that, he texted Malleus, and Lilia to remind Malleus to check his phone for a text from him, inviting the fae prince to Ramshackle later, and then went to work.
He was just finished with the last bit in the kitchen when the ghosts announced his guest’s arrival.
“Thank you for inviting me.” Malleus says, looking away from the restored and new portraits in the lobby that he was led to upon entering.
“Glad you can come. I was a bit concerned with you being a Dorm Leader.”
“Sebek did want to come to be a taste tester. But Lilia was adamant that he needed his assistance more.”
Yuu chuckled, taking note to thank Lilia somehow, and mentioned him to follow to the small table in the kitchen.
“Is there any particular reason for this invite?” Malleus asks as he settled down in the seat as Yuu poured the water into both their glasses.
“It's in part thanks for taking care of me for the three days I was a tiny brat. And an apology for causing any trouble during that time.” Yuu explained as he settled down in his seat as well.
“Hm? But I enjoyed my three days with a much younger version of you.” Malleus informed with a raised brow. “Especially when you proposed to me so adorably.”
Yuu nearly spat his water out when he heard that. “I… wha…?”
“Hm? Oh, you don’t remember?”
“I don’t remember anything. I’ve only been told what happened and the pictures.”
“Ah, it was less than a day before you reverted back to your original age. I brought you to the botanical gardens after a lovely light meal at Mostro. After a time I thought it was late enough to start heading back to put you to bed when you pointed at one of the roses there.” He chuckled. “You said with such childlike seriousness that when you get bigger that you would give me a rose and marry me.” He couldn’t stop chuckling at the memory while Yuu buried his face into his hands, fighting the urge to groan out of embarrassment. “I’ve watched Silver and Sebek grow, but neither of them have made such a bold proposal.” His eyes softened for a moment before it was replaced with a mischievous glint. “It almost made me want to place a curse on you to stay that way for much longer.” He sighed. “But I do miss talking and spending time with you like this. I suppose I must be grateful for a rare opportunity to have a glimpse of what you were like as a babe in arms.”
Yuu couldn’t help but grin. ‘Not really a baby but he’s not entirely wrong either.’ He thought as he let out a small chuckle. “Glad to know that baby me was a lot of fun. Pity I couldn’t remember.”
“Such is the way some spells work. Including some that backfire.” Malleus informed as his face fell slightly to something solemn.
“Tsunotaro?”
“I’m glad you’re alright. When I heard of the incident, I had feared the worst before they went into detail of what transpired.” He studied the young man before him. “I was relieved when I found out that you only changed into a babe in arms and there was no other concerns other than wait out for the backfired spell to wear off.” He then had a gentle smile and softened eyes. “And that you had showed no fear even then at my appearance, but wailed when I was away from your sight. It made me happy that I was seen as someone you felt the most safe with.”
Yuu felt embarrassed, but the soft look of his special friend made him smile gently back. “In some ways I still feel that way.”
Malleus was slightly taken aback by this. “What do you mean?”
“Ever since the first time we met I felt like I can just tell you things and you won’t judge me. You ask questions but it’s only to learn and understand, which helps me out as well.”
Malleus grinned then chuckled. “It is mutual for you to me as well.” He said and both chuckled at this.

MalleYuuWeek2022 Day 4
I kind of had trouble with this prompt, because I wasn’t sure which idea to go with, and I was listening to Kingdom Hearts OST, so this is partly a crossover of some sort with my Yuu, but he’s not a keyblade wielder, but a new class I made up that his weapon is a shield, a keyhole lock shield (I like Goofy, what can I say?), because why not?
Still struggled with the prompt, but I had fun. Not my best piece of writing, but don’t like it enough to not post it, so... enjoy freely.
4. Free Day
“Ow…” Yuu groaned. “I thought being dead means I don’t feel this shit…” He took a deep breath, taking a moment to see if he could move his fingers and toes, then ankles and wrists, just carefully moving his limbs to find that there’s nothing broken, just ache as if he’d been pounded numerous times.
“What happened in the last fight?” He then tried to lift himself up, only to feel dizzy and laid back down. “My whole body feels like crap.” He then opened his eyes to register the tall trees and smell of damp earth and realized his whole back side of his body is soaked, as well as the sky being somewhat cloudy and barely visible.
“A forest? After a rain?” He mused as he took in a deep breath of air. “Where am I?”
“Briar Valley.”
He wasn’t expecting another voice, especially a child’s, and moved his head back to see an upside down view of said child in a dark robe and small yet familiar curved horns.
“Ah… Much obliged.” He said wondering just ‘when’ he was to recognize a child Malleus. “Were you here long? I don’t recall being here.”
“You fell from the sky.” Child Malleus responded, taking a couple steps, but not getting too close to Yuu.
“Ah, that explains a few things.” He mused casually, seeing the wariness of the child but also curiosity. “Are you here alone? That isn’t safe.”
“I can defend myself just fine!” Malleus claimed with a pout, crossing his arms and stomping his foot, for good measure.
Yuu could hear a faint sound of thunder and knew the adult Malleus’s mood affects the weather. “Huh, maybe the warning ‘don’t talk to strangers’ doesn’t apply to fae?”
Malleus looks confused, but doesn’t come closer. “I haven’t heard such a warning…”
Yuu shrugged, not bothered by the child Malleus’s lack of human customs, since it makes sense to him, knowing the adult version of his friend from his present time. “Well, now you know, yes?” He says with a hint of teasing, but not in a jabbing sense, but a way that seems like a little reward.
Malleus didn’t look convinced, but he did take a couple steps closer, getting a closer look at the odd human laying on the ground and not moving much.
“You’re not like the humans I hear about back in the castle.” Malleus mused bluntly, making Yuu grin and shrug.
“Human’s can be as complex as well as simple. I’m just being me here.” He answered simply as he felt as if he should try getting up. “I’m going to try sitting up.”
Malleus nodded, watching as the odd human took a deep breath as he slowly lifted himself up until only his hands were the only thing keeping himself up.
“Man I’m sore…” Yuu groaned as he managed to sit upright.
“You did fall pretty far.” Malleus said, leaning to the side, his wariness from before now replaced with pure curiosity and interest.
“I don’t doubt it.” Yuu said with a grin. ‘Malleus as a kid is pretty cute. I will have a fun time teasing him when I get back to my present time with him.’  He thought when he felt something off suddenly.
He looked around, adrenaline spiked as he moved his head this way and that, making the young fae look at him in both concern and wariness.
“What’s the matter?” Malleus asked, looking around to find what had this human go on alert.
“Malleus! Get behind me!” Yuu called out as he noticed the piercing yellow eyes in between the trees behind the child fae, who tried to turn to see what was behind him.
Seeing the Heartless let out an energy-based attack, Yuu’s adrenline spiked and, as if it was second nature, summoned his keyhole shield, and blocked the attack, feeling the recoil in his arm. ‘The force wasn’t strong, but it’s not weak either.’ He thought as he looked down to see a startled Malleus, who looks up to him wanting answers. ‘No doubt he’s wondering what the hell is going on, but…’ He thought as he looked to see there was more than one Heartless around. ‘Not that I’m not grateful that I have a shield, but a keyblade would be helpful.’ He mused as he dug into his pocket to take out what looks to be a pocket watch. ‘Well, at least I have these guys to help me out.’
“I call on those who obey the darkness to come aide me now. By permission of her grace of thorns and power, I command thee to come and rid thy threat from thy presence!” He chanted, making the pocket watch open and a burst of green flame comes out and five energy orbs appeared and formed to something similar to bodies.
The bodies became solid and they resembled small, anamorphic guards made of what looks to be stone.
Malleus could only watch in awe as the stone creatures imbued with magic and glowing green eyes fight off creatures made of nothing but shadows with glowing eyes. But he also realizes that both creatures seemed similar to one another. He then caught movement next to him, turning to see the teen struggling to get to his feet, his eyes looking determined as the creatures he summoned fought.
Once the fight was done, the creatures disappeared in a soft glow and Yuu collapsed, feeling the energy he used to summon his borrowed aides sap him dry, and darkness surrounded him.
Malleus, alarmed, shook the teen and called out for help, which thankfully for once he was glad for the guards on patrol; no doubt people realized he was missing, and the fight not long ago did have magical residue.
“Young Prince! So this is where you were?” Lilia sighed in relief but then focused at the limp form of the human.
“Lilia! Please help this human! He kept me safe from… from… I don’t know what they are!” Malleus cried as Lilia studied the teen.
‘There’s something… unusual about him, but if he did indeed keep the prince safe…’ He thought as he smiled at the young prince. “If that is so, then he will be cared for. It’s the least we can do for him for keeping you safe.” He looked on at the evidence of battle, even further confused at what he was sensing. ‘This magic residue… it’s similar to…’ He shook his head as he summoned his bats to lift the unconscious teen. “Come along then. I hope you had learned your lesson about sneaking out without someone with you.”
Malleus pouted, but he sadly nodded, eyeing the teen and wondering if he can still talk to him after he woke up.

MallYuu Week Day 3
Kept Malleus’s background, and is actually a 20 something college student in this one. Had fun with this one, it was also a bit challenging.
3. Role swap
Malleus blinked as he sighed heavily.
It only felt like two weeks ago he was in the campus library, studying up on his history major exam, only to wake up to a cocky, talkative, fire-breathing cat, in a world that definitely wasn’t a dream, and was staying in an abandoned building that really shouldn’t be livable, with said cat as a roommate and three prank-loving ghosts.
He wasn’t going to get any sleep, that he was sure, and made his way out of the only room that was passable as safe enough to lay his head down on and headed outside.
It was a clear autumn night with stars dotted among the dark sky; the moon in it’s darkened phase.
His time at Night Raven College so far was rough for him:
He was already used to being a bit of an ‘odd one out’ among his peers ever since he was young: first for being an heir of a wealthy family, then for not having two parents, but a grandmother, and later on being the tallest, brightest, and most athletic of any of the schools he attended.
But here, he had nothing but a name that had none of the lofty recognition he was used to, and despite his past accomplishments in his world, he was still the only one that had no magic and was not eligible to being a student in a magic-based school, and undoubtedly the second oldest student; the first being the annoying lazy lion beastman, Leona.
The only reason he was a ‘student’ at all was because of Grim, the troublesome cat that was the first individual he had met in this world.
“What on this plane of existence am I going to do?” He asked to no one in particular, knowing that the headmaster, Crowley, wasn’t someone to trust by his behavior alone.
Then his attention caught something in the distance. “Fireflies?”
Soft, blinking green lights appeared during his musing and it was the notice of gently flying insects that he made out the soft foot falls of someone walking up the path along the stone and rusted metal fencing.
As if drawn to it, he made out a form and made his way to the front of the gate, seeing who it was clearly when he did.
There before him was a young man appearing 17, and barely reaching his shoulders, with soft and loose black wavy hair that was kept a little short at the back, but the front was almost framing the slight tanned face and dark eyes.
What stood out though were the two, curved, black horns on top of his head.
“Evening. You must be the new student I heard so much about.” The young man said. “I’m surprised to see you here. Should you not be resting?”
“I should be asking you that. What possessed you to walk about alone at this hour?”
“Because I choose to. Much like you choose to stay out risking an illness as most humans are prone to, instead of resting.” He said, raising a brow. “Is this because rest is not coming easy?”
Malleus wasn’t sure what to make of this kid. ‘He’s not like the punks I’ve met so far. Well, a couple aren’t bad I suppose…’ He thought as he shook his head. “You could say that…”
“Do you wish to speak about it?”
“That’s kind of you, but I don’t wish to burden you with my problems.”
The young man hummed thoughtfully. “If that is the case, may I ask for your name?”
“My name?”
“It is our first meeting, is it not? And we’ve exchanged words for some time.”
Malleus studied the teen before him, and realized that he’s really not like the others. “Malleus Draconia. The only non-magic human that shouldn’t even be here at all.” He says the last part a tad bitterly.
The assuming teen nodded. “I’ve heard that there was an unusual student from a different world. So you are he?” He had a small smile. “I’ve been here three years and this is the most exciting thing to have happened. You made me regret not coming to the ceremony. I heard it was quite…  I do believe the youth use ‘fire’ to signify the level of high visual satisfaction. And I heard the place nearly burned down. How entertaining.”
“I guess… Wait… You’re a third year?” He asks, seeing the teen smile slightly.
“You’re not familiar with Fae, are you?” He said, seeming to realize and look happier. “Or much of this world, correct?”
“Y-Yes…” He said, a bit confused. “W-Well, there are tales of fairies in my world, but it’s just fanciful tales.”
The third-year fae chuckled. “How interesting!” He exclaimed happily before tilting his head to the side. “Malleus Draconia… That’s a very strong and noble name… It’s more fitting than mine.”
“I don’t think I’ve caught your name.”
“Ah…” He seemed to pause as he thought about it.
‘Why is he hesitating?’ Malleus thought as he was about to ask when the third-year spoke.
“You may call me Yuu.” He said with a small smile. “I must apologize for not showing the same level of introduction, but for fae culture… sharing one’s full name has dire consequences.”
“Must be hell for a school setting. Unless you use a false name?”
“No, the school knows me, but that is a different matter.” He waves it off as if it were a bothersome fly in his presence. “This is more of a personal matter.”
Malleus knows how that is perfectly. “I understand. Truly.” He assured, sounding lonely as he briefly recalled many a time he tried to introduce himself, trying to make a friend, only for things to change within a heartbeat; the avoidance, the back-handed whispers around corners when they don’t realize he was there, and the way people seem to be on guard when they do have to speak to him, as if a wrong word could mean the end of their lives.
“You know…” Yuu quietly spoke, as if it was a secret between them, and smiled sadly. “May I come by again?”
“Pardon?”
“I like to take nightly walks when I’m able.” He clarified. “Or in the library for some quiet reading. I don’t mind some company if you feel restless.”
Malleus blinked as he dissected the words. “Are… Are you inviting me to accompany you?”
Yuu chuckled softly, finding Malleus’s expression both amusing and heartbreaking. “I am. But if you do happen to see me during daylight, don’t hesitate to call upon me. I would love to talk to you again.”
“I’m not much for conversation.” He informed, but the thought of talking to someone who knows the same loneliness as he has, it became an opportunity he fears he’ll miss if he doesn’t grasp it.
“Maybe not from where you were.” Yuu grinned, unaware that phrase struck a cord in the taller man, as he used a bit of magic to lift himself up to be at eye level with him. “But you’re not in the world you were before. And I’m more than happy to share what I know about this world’s history that isn’t covered in the education books. I’m a lot older than I appear…” He chuckled. “I must leave you now. But I hope to at least ease a little of what made you so restless. I look forward to our next encounter, Malleus.”
Malleus blinked and Yuu disappeared in gentle glowing green glitter that disappeared before they hit the ground.
He stood there dumbfounded, but he did feel better after talking to the odd third-year. He couldn’t help but smile at the thought of meeting up with him in the near future.
“Maybe… it won’t be so bad.” He said to no one in particular as he head back to the Ramshackle Dorm, feeling a bit more motivated to tackle another day with a new sense of purpose.

MallYuu Week Prompts Day 1 & 2
I almost forgot about this, but I got something to post.
Joyful
Lilia watched on in amusement at how active Malleus was being, looking over the servants' efforts of preparations for the arrival of the fae prince’s closest friend from school, and the windows towards the front entrance for a glimpse of arrival.
“Be still Malleus!” He called out as he drifted down from where he was floating on the ceiling. “You know he doesn’t care much how the place looks. He’s here to see you and Briar Valley.”
Malleus took a deep breath to ease the nervous jitters. “I’m aware. But I couldn’t stay still and desired to do something to direct my anxious feelings of his arrival.”
Lilia was happy that the prince has someone to look forward to seeing, and he can see that the servants were catching on the prince’s excitement over the human who befriended him genuinely.
Even the queen herself appears to be curious about the human, having only known him through letters, either from himself, Malleus, and at least once from the school to inform of the Overblot and the successful survival of the prince’s life after it.
To say she was grateful is a gross understatement; her allowing a human for a informal visit like this proves it.
Even the council are keeping mum about it, though some are against it, finding the security of it slacking for just one human. Lilia himself had only recounted his observations for them to keep a respectful silence on the matter.
Not long after, one of the servants announced that the anticipated individual has arrived, and Lilia can see it took a lot of effort for the prince to not use magic to teleport himself to the grand hall.
“Shall we?” Lilia mentioned as they made their way to the grand hall, where Silver and Sebek were in a lively discussion with Yuu and Grim.
“Tsunotaro!” Grim called out, not realizing how some of the servants look at him horrified, only to look confused when the Prince simply smiled as Sebek yelled at the monster cat about showing respect in the young master’s home.
“Been awhile, my friend.” Yuu said with a smile.
Malleus chuckled, knowing that it was hardly two weeks since the last they saw each other after Sebek’s, Yuu’s, Grim’s and the other former first year troublemakers graduation.
“That it has.” He responded lightly as he mentioned a servant to take the small bit of luggage that he knows Yuu has used every bit of space to it’s max with everything they needed for the two week stay. “You must be exhausted from your trip from the Rose Kingdom. I can have tea brought up to your rooms if you need to rest. There are still things I must attend to, but I am relieved to see you arrived safely.”
“The praise should go to Sebek and his family for waiting on us at the train station.” Yuu informed, seeing Sebek looking smug in his pride.
“Could do without the yelling though, yanno…” Grim added, earning a glare from Sebek and he looked ready to do just that.
“Who’s the bigger man, Sebek?” Yuu voiced casually as he looked to the young half-fae, who took a deep breath and straightened his back.
“It’s a pleasure to see to your safe arrival, Anoma, Grim. But if you will excuse my departure of your company, I shall attend to the Young Master’s side.”
Yuu covered Grim’s mouth as he responded. “We appreciate your time to see to our safe arrival. Do not let us keep you from your duty.” He then looked to Malleus, removing his hand from Grim’s mouth, ignoring the monster cat’s complaining. “I shall see you before the day is done I hope?”
“I shall send for you.” He smiled as he willed himself from chuckling at the ‘proper’ speech manner the young man has used, despite telling him various of times that it wasn’t necessary.
“I’m hungry!” Grim complained with a yowel similar to a cat’s displeasure.
“Be sure to show gratitude, Grim. Or you’ll be sleeping outside.” Yuu warned dryly, making Malleus chuckle, knowing the threat was empty; the young man has grown a familiar attachment to the little monster and would never abandon him or cause due harm.
“I won’t keep you then. I shall see you later, we have much to talk about.”
It was Yuu’s turn to chuckle. “That we do.”
After watching a servant lead Yuu and Grim to their room, Malleus let himself take a deep breath and sighed in relief. “Be sure to extend my gratitude to your family, Sebek.”
“Of course! We are more than honored to do this task!” Sebek exclaimed proudly, practically beaming with pride.
Lilia can tell that the prince’s earlier anxiousness has turned into pure joy at seeing his friend safely in his home.
‘The next two weeks are going to be fun! It’s been ages since this place heard any true laughter.’ He thought, already thinking up a couple pranks to pull on the two.
2. Killing time
In the Diasomnia dorm building, specifically in Malleus’s room, he and Yuu were on the small couch with a laptop on his lap, and Yuu standing behind him and the couch, with his arms resting on the back of it.
“So… If I wish to look up gargoyles, I have to be sure to click in this bar here?” Malleus asks, pointing at the laptop screen as he looks to Yuu who nodded.
“Correct.” He confirmed, watching as Malleus worked on the touch pad to get the mouse cursor to the search bar of the web homescreen.
After making sure the little blinking line was at the beginning of the bar, Malleus looks down at the keyboard and placed his fingers over the keys.
“Wait, make sure your pointer fingers are feeling the tiny bumps, those help you know you got your fingers in the right position for typing.” Yuu informed, watching as Malleus didn’t look down at his hands, and sees the fae prince has indeed had his hands in position and slowly typed out the words ‘gargoyle’ into the search bar.
Both looked to see a few pictures and a long list of links underneath the pictures.
“Amazing.” Malleus awed, making Yuu smile.
“Now that we’re here, there’s something you need to be careful about.”
“Careful?”
Yuu nodded as he reached a little to point out on the screen to the few links. “It’s faint, but do you see the word ‘ad’ on the top corner there above the links?” After the prince nodded, he continued. “Some of these aren’t bad, but I tend to avoid links with this on there. A lot of these sites make their money by the searches and purchases folks use on the computer.”
“I see. And, these ‘viruses’ can disguise themselves, correct?”
“Yup. Sometimes they’re like a ghostly shadow around the corner, must watching and keeping note of what you’re searching. But I got protection on this laptop, so it’s not a huge deal.”
Malleus nodded as he found the arrow keys and pressed down a few times before he stops seeing the word ‘ad’ on the upper list of links. “Now…?” He looks at Yuu to figure out what to do at this point.
“Depends what you’re exactly looking for.” Yuu said as he looked at the small list. “There’s a link to the archives, which have things you probably know all there is to know with some pictures. If you want to look at just pictures of them, if you go back up, there’s a few things… There!” He reaches over to point at a spot on the screen. “There’s ‘Web’, which is where you are now, and next to it is images. Go ahead and click on that.”
Malleus did and it only took a small bit a time before he can see images of different kinds and a smile broke out. “Ah!”
Yuu looks on at the child-like glee on the fae prince’s features. ‘Best way to kill time.’ He thought as he can see the look of confusion. “Something wrong?”
“This one isn’t a gargoyle.” Malleus says as he pouted slightly. “Why is it there?”
“People aren’t perfect.” Yuu said as he knew the fae would have more than a few words on that. “You have to remember, Mal, that not everyone are gargoyle experts like you.”
“That’s hardly assuring.” He says as he presses the down button until he paused when he looks at a plush. “...That is excellect craftsmanship, but it’s not a gargoyle.”
Yuu couldn’t help but chuckle. “Agreed.”

Hello! So for some odd reasons, I can’t answer submissions or even save drafts of them, hence why I took long in answering them and thus resorted to making a separate post on these. I’ll do separate posts for each submission, unless if the submissions may seem to be continuous. To the anon(s) who may have been waiting, really sorry for that!
This one is something I had wanted to answer immediately after I received it, but due to Tumblr fucking it up + the time it arrived to me (late at night), I couldn’t get to this right away. This is two submissions, but I’m combining them since they talk about the same thing.
These involve screenshots of certain blog posts, so the names have been taken out.
┍━━━━━━━☟━━━━━━━┑
Tumblr media
This very much sums up my disappointment in this company. I hope they wont wait us until death for us to reach EP 7, I want my Malleus.
┕━━━━━━━☝︎━━━━━━━┙
┍━━━━━━━☟━━━━━━━┑
Tumblr media
Well I can let this pass for now, at least we wont have to wait. And we have gifted translators to translate the story so its no big deal for those who cant read japanese.
┕━━━━━━━☝︎━━━━━━━┙
First of all anon, I get it. I get the frustration that we won’t be getting a voiced main story right away.
However, “Aniplex does not care about the game” is something I disagree with because as the OP in the second screenshot stated, the COVID situation in Japan is horrible, and the company has to ensure that all their employees and VAs are safe and healthy, hence why they may have to reschedule very often. Heck, some of them, including VAs, have gotten COVID themselves, which would have contributed to the rescheduling and such. Aniplex cares, both about their game and their employees, the latter more so. They need to prioritize their workers.
I’m just glad that you understood after that second screenshot.
But for those who continue to complain about this “half-assed update”, I hope you guys know that there is a lot that people are going through, and it would be good to be considerate to them.

Okay so you probably know this by now but the Ignihyde chapter WILL NOT BE FULLY-VOICED for the time being due to the COVID situation in Japan making it difficult for Disney and Aniplex to schedule voice actors to come in and record their lines. Honestly this is probably the best way out for them 'cause when you think about it Disney and Aniplex are in a really tight situation when it comes to the Ignihyde chapter.
If they decided to postpone the release to whenever they are able to have the entire story fully-voiced, they will recieve hate. Think about it the final part of the Pomefiore chapter was released some time around January. If they don't release Ignihyde within this year the wait gap is just going to be too people will start ditching the game. Even if they were to compensate with events or other campaigns you really can't compare those with what players consider as more important; main story arc updates. Plus god knows when the COVID situation in Japan is going to be better too.
Even now when they decided to release the Ignihyde chapter now but voiceless people are already criticizing them for releasing a "half-assed" update. Trust me I prefer for them to have everything ready before doing the release too, but in a time like this they really have to make a choice on what would make the players least pissed off.

I don't Eliza has ever heard of consensual marriage before. I honestly never liked her. First, she and her ghosts invaded NRC- a place that didn't belong to them and terrorized the students. She KIDNAPPED poor Idia and forced him to be her groom without asking what he wanted. Third, she slapped all the boys who were attempting to rescue Idia (who ungratefully trash talked them in the process). And then there's Eliza's old-fashioned ideals. I could go on, but it'd get too long eheh
!! 👀 No, no! This is actually a really interesting topic of discussion, lemme word vomit my thoughts out, Anon!
I have a lot thoughts on Eliza and on the Ghost Marriage event itself, so I'd like to take this chance to share them. Please take what I say with a grain of salt, as much of it is personal interpretation based on the information presented to us in game.
***Ghost Marriage event and Groom-for-a-Day card(s) spoilers ahead!!***
Tumblr media
You're perfectly valid in saying that you dislike Eliza. Everyone's allowed to like and to not like whatever characters they want.
I agree that many of the things she did and said were over-the-top and unwarranted, but I think that was the entire point of Ghost Marriage: to be a parody of the "traditional Disney fairy tale romance", much like how the film Enchanted was. There were just too many not-so-subtle jabs at common romance tropes for it not to be.
For example, Eliza has unrealistic expectations of her future husband, and she thinks everything will magically work out, even though Idia is clearly distressed and against the marriage. Later, when the other boys are deployed to rescue Idia, there are even more jokes made using Eliza's extreme ideals as a springboard to jump off of. Yes, it was wrong of her to slap people around, but it was played off as something to laugh at because she would always be set off by the smallest things.
The highlight here definitely has to be Leona and Trey's attempt to woo her with song. Disney is especially known for its songs in movies, and Eliza just takes that idea and runs with it. She expects her ideal prince to perfectly finish any song she starts/serenade to her, as if they're actually in a Disney musical number. Obviously, if anyone attempted that in real life, you'd react the same way the TWST boys did: with confusion.
I think Idia trash talking the rescue attempts is meant to add to the humor. There's a huge contrast in how the boys of NRC see this courtship and "romance" and how Eliza sees it--that's where both the event's conflict and where the bulk of the humor comes from.
Tumblr media
What I personally appreciate about Ghost Marriage is that it offers a realistic portrayal of love and marriage when you look past all the silliness of the event. Well, not on Eliza’s part, but on the part of the TWST boys we all know and love.
A mistake that people outside of this fandom often make is that TWST is an otome game, based simply on the fact that the cast is all male and full of pretty boys. However, despite TWST not being an otome, the fandom is very yume-centric and romance focused, because the characters are so appealing. The fact that TWST is based on Disney properties--Disney, who is known for their interpretations of classic fairy tales and their stereotypical happily ever afters--has set up this expectation of romance.
But Twisted Wonderland, the game itself, has a very nuanced and realistic approach in how it addresses romance. It’s played mainly for laughs in Ghost Marriage (and the main story does a good job of highlighting the boys’ unsavory points), but delve into the lines spoken by the characters and the Groom-for-a-Day personal stories, and you’ll see even more of this.
The most obvious example here is our groom, Idia. From the very beginning, he expresses not wanting to marry Eliza, but it seems that this sentiment extends to beyond just Eliza. He has a very negative outlook on romance in general, which is corroborated by many of his Groom-for-a-Day lines. Idia mocks the concept of living “happily ever after” and “eternal love”. He remarks that love is an illusion created by the brain, and even points out that everyone is still a student, so they should prioritize their studies over romance.
While Idia does seem to enjoy romantic materials (games, anime, etc), Idia himself has a very cynical view of “real world” love, and he makes that abundantly clear. To me, Idia represents the person that enjoys romance in media, but is not interested in the pursuit of romance himself. He can enjoy it when he’s an observer, but to actually be involved in romance is a big turn-off.
Okay, but about Idia’s rescuers?
Let’s start with Rook. Of the TWST cast, I would say Rook is the most positive in regards to love. He’s always willing to help others out, and he’s always appreciative of things, even when they’re grim or the circumstances aren’t in his favor. Ace points out to Rook that when he goes around praising everything, it makes Rook seem less trustworthy. To this, the huntsman only says they are his true feelings--he wants to love everything equally.
Rook is a free spirit. He loves whatever and whomever he wishes when it suits him. He can be fickle, but he can also find goodness, something to admire, in everyone and everything. Rook’s love is an all-encompassing and unconditional kind.
Riddle’s personal stories don’t revolve around love in an super overt sense. It’s about him running into Malleus and discussing what makes a worthwhile leader. See, Riddle is a traditionalist (which suits his personality). He expresses that if he gets married, he wants to have a marriage like that of the Queen of Hearts and her husband, which to him was a “loyal” marriage. He wants to have a textbook definition of marriage, and that’s perfectly valid.
Riddle’s personal story also reiterates something that is mentioned briefly in the Ghost Marriage event: that Malleus is royalty, so his proposals are not to be taken lightly.
This is a feature that helps to define Twisted Wonderland as its own separate entity from other Disney titles and properties. In Twisted Wonderland, being royalty means something. In almost all other forms of Disney media I can think of, being royalty equates to dressing fancy, being rich, and having all the power without any responsibility. But in Twisted Wonderland? They remind you every so often that this character is royalty, and there are strict terms of service and rules that come with that position, including being sheltered and burdened with royal duties (actual politics and governing), and not being able to just “love” whoever you want, even if just for a rescue mission.
Moving on to Epel! In his personal stories, he’s questioning if the “ideal prince” even exists. The line that pops out to me the most is that “the bride seems to care more about the image of an ideal prince than blood lines or family names”. This ties back into how the rest of Disney media often portrays romance as opposed to how TWST portrays it. Heck, in recent years, Disney has tried to subvert its own standing on romance (example: in Frozen, Elsa tells Anna “you can’t marry a man you just met”, whereas in Disney classics like The Little Mermaid, the plot revolves around quickly getting the main couple together).
Obviously, characters can be “perfected” with the magic of media. The image of an “ideal prince” DOES exist because of media, but Epel’s pointing out that it’s not realistic. He’s implying that Eliza is in love with the idea of perfection, and she has lost sight of things that should be important, like blood lines (genetic dispositions and diseases that could carry over to children) or family names (meeting your spouse’s family, getting to know them, etc.). It’s a criticism that can be easily overlooked while you’re too dazzled by Epel riding in on a white horse.
Lilia represents another type of person in regards to love. He’s the person that knows exactly what he wants, but not in the traditional sense. At no point does Lilia ever detail his ideal life partner. Instead, his personal stories are littered with subtle hints that Lilia has no plans to settle down. He never outright says it, but he implies it in other ways, like saying how it’s a shame that Sebek and Silver will never get to see him in a groomsuit.
I don’t think Lilia is as bitter or cynical about love as Idia is, but I think he definitely has his own reasons for not pursuing love. I don’t think it’s related to his age, since Lilia has always marched to the beat of his own drum and done whatever he likes, regardless of his age. He acts super youthful for a fae that’s several hundred years old. No, I believe Lilia just... isn’t ready, nor does he want to, commit.
I don’t have concrete proof or any real information to go off of, but Lilia was able to raise Silver just fine on his own. He may very well just be used to doing things alone, seeing as he enjoys traveling the world by himself. Not to mention, he’s a war veteran. He must have seen many of his loved ones perish in combat--so maybe that’s made him hesitant to be tied down, in case he loses more of them. The reason could be more innocent than that, like maybe Lilia just wants to focus on his duties as Malleus’s retainer, or he just likes his solitude.
In any case, Lilia lacks Idia’s cynical views on love, but he, like Idia, doesn’t plan to get married... and that’s okay. We can see that Lilia is totally happy with himself without romantic love. He has his family and duties to keep him feeling fulfilled. Lilia is a demonstration that platonic love--specifically familial love--is just as valid as romantic love.
And finally, we have Ace.
ACE.
Okay.
You can call him an asshole all you like for ghosting his ex-girlfriend, but honestly? Hats off to Ace. I’m not saying what he did was necessarily right (it’s definitely a jerk move), but it’s realistic.
First of all, it’s pretty rare in these types of games to mention canon romantic relationships at all. I think the reasoning for this is because the mere MENTION of another person being with a character that is pulled from gacha takes away from their “worth”, their “availability”. You’re less incentivized to pull for your waifu or husbando because they’re already “taken”, so good on TWST for changing it up a bit.
Alright, back to Ace’s asshole move. Remember that this dude is 16. JUST 16. Ghosting your S/O or losing interest in them is perfectly reasonable for an immature teenager to do. You’re still young and learning--and heck, many adults still do this. No one is a perfect prince. To quote Trey, “I’m just a high school boy. What do you expect from me?”
Ace is an imperfect boyfriend, despite that speech he gives to Eliza about what the “ideal” partner is like. Ace may know what he wants in a partner, but there’s no guarantee he’s prepared for a relationship himself—and that’s a reflection of what happens in real life. People are imperfect, they fuck up in relationships.
After all, real relationships are the antithesis of Eliza’s ideals.
Real relationships don’t involve one person aggressively imposing their will on their partner. It should be equal parts give and take, and it shouldn’t be rushed or forced.
Real relationships aren’t perfect. Your personality won’t fix itself because of your partner, and your partner’s personality won’t fix because of you. You’ll disagree, you’ll fight, you’ll make mistakes. That doesn’t make the relationship necessarily a bad one, it just depends on how you work together to resolve your differences and move on from the disputes.
Real relationships don’t involve perfect people, either. You’re individuals with your own strengths and weaknesses. You shouldn’t cling to your partner and act like they’re infallible--and neither should they to you.
Real relationships take time and work.
With all of that being said, we can see that TWST has a very unconventional approach to love and romance compared to its contemporaries. They make fun of many common tropes and actually have a more realistic portrayal of “love” than most other mobage I’ve seen. There are some subtle things they do that also lend to this, like not running a traditional Valentine’s Day or White Day event in February/March (instead giving us Vargas Camp), or the Halloween Groovies being actually scary art rather than being traditional fanservice art.
I don’t know, I guess I just wanted to express my appreciation of minor details like that. Ever since the Ghost Marriage rerun, and the addition of the Idia and Lilia cards, I’ve been thinking long and hard about all of this, because I personally resonate a lot with those two in their views on love. I really like the lore and the representation that their Groom-for-a-Day cards add to TWST, that love isn’t treated like this infallible solution for everything like in so many other Disney properties.
You can praise TWST for a lot of things, but I feel this is something that isn’t appreciated enough... So I wanted to express my gratitude for it.

So...
Watched this on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-Xv20_z-Kc
And on the 5:58 mark... Somehow I can picture either Idia making this out of trying a depression bake or Lilia when he actually follows directions...
And I don’t know which one is worse...

Can you give me some things about Malleus the fandom often mischaracterized from him? Including some of the fandom's false and rather delusional opinions about his relationship with Yuu? I want to keep Malleus in character as well as to try to establish a realistic relationship he has with Yuu, whether platonic or romantic
Hmm… the thing that I mainly see is that people think, “Oh, he’s in love with them!!” when we also have to remember that this guy has been sheltered his whole life. None of Diasomnia are really his ‘friends’; Lilia is his caretaker, and Silver & Sebek are his guards. And even in the castle, his parents are dead, and his grandma is always busy. Much of our personality is shaped by communication and socialization, things that Malleus lacked. So for all his life, he just knows that most people are afraid of him, and the few people in his life are either parents or guards. But then here comes Yuu, who just calls him ‘that one horned guy’ out of the blue, and oh hey, a curious little human who actually doesn’t fear him? Of course Malleus wouldn’t be opposed to that. Ultimately, right now, he just needs a friend, someone who can help him not only learn how to socialize but also someone who can help him shape his personality. I’m not saying a romance can’t happen between them because honestly, it can happen, but that needs time. A lot of it.
Aside from that, there’s also just knowing how to balance his more naive side and his more intimidating side because Malleus isn’t one or the other. He has both sides. It just depends on the situation.
Yeah, I suppose that’s really it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

An update post
I know I don’t put up content, but real life and my procrastination is a thing...
But that’s not what that’s about.
It’s just my thoughts on the current and future events.
It gets long and I know not everyone really cares, so I’ll put a ‘Keep Reading’ if you’re that curious on my thoughts about it...
So, I just got on Twisted Wonderland tag and see some folks mentioning Lilia being in the Masterchef event...
I’ll get to my thoughts on that in a bit...
So, the fireworks in Scalding Sands (or Silk City to be specific), I gotta be honest, at first I was wondering why they would do that and feared the whole ‘culture appropriation’ posts to flood the tag (and this is coming from a white person btw), but after seeing how the event went and that it was Kalim’s idea for them to wear traditional outfits, my fear and inner dread calmed down slightly; it’s one thing to wear outfits just because you believe you can and get away with, versus someone saying it’s okay and giving permission and respecting it are vastly different things that many still don’t get.
Okay, off the soap box...
Then of course I recently saw a post (I’m bad at remembering who posts what) about... I’m going to use the word ‘cringe’ because we’ve all been there, and the folks of Disney tried to avoid it, but the remake of Aladdin, though I think wasn’t bad, still bring up culture debates that the 90′s animated film faced (I think it was about the sexualized outfits of Jasmine / outfits not being represented correctly, and how the setting was supposed to represent the Middle East, but had the palace be inspired by the Taj Mahal, and a load of other things that I’m not knowledgeable about but understand the frustrations).
Though I understand, another part of me also feels that... This is a fictional world, and as artists (both visually and written), they take pieces of what we know/research on to create one that may have a little bit of each culture to create a unique one that some can still recognize; but there’s still that slippery slope that by doing so can rub people the wrong way.
So, in short, you can’t please anyone, but everyone can at least try to keep any knee jerk reaction to themselves (aka posting a response at the stir of the moment of useless pride because you happen to really enjoy the thing and somehow feel attacked? IDK...)
Personally, I was skeptical, but then end up enjoying it because this is the second time we get to see a part of a different area of the Twisted Wonderland world (the first is during Ch. 3 of the game where we get to the Coral Sea, which was only to the museum), and the first to have cultural information on, in which I am all for it! I may not be good at world building myself, but hearing about world building and how it’s being written is a pleasure for me (unless it’s badly written).
And I got to say, I really like the outfits; it’s not the belly dancer outfits, the bell thing is accurate (there’s plenty of cultures that have the same idea), and they’re pretty, not gonna lie. I wouldn’t be able to wear one, but it’s really pretty to look.
Now... For the upcoming Master Chef event...
I have heard it being joked around in the first master chef event when it was Riddle, Silver, and I think Trey was in it as well as an R? Or was that a haze dream?
Anyway... Now it feels like all that joking is feeling more like karma is being served (pun intended).
I’m more curious as to how that’s gonna play out, especially since Jade is also in the event, and I guess he’s a pretty decent cook since he works in Mostro Lounge.
And as for Ch. 6 coming out at the end of August...
I’m both happy that we have a release timeframe, but dreading because, due to my procrastination and mentally hitting myself against the wall, I’m behind on my WIP of a fanfic.
I’m currently done (at this point until we get more information in the next coming chapters) with the prologue and ch. 1. I currently have the Intermission section that bridges the end of ch. 1 to the beginning of ch. 2; think of it as the daily life filler, since I’m also working out the vague timeline in which the game only says the month of said event (Magift being in October, halloween is during the end but apparently lasts for seven days... I think? Beans Day happening sometime around spring so... March? April? Ch. 4 happening sometime late December to early January, then VDC in February...) And of course Ch. 2 itself is being looked over.
I still have ch. 3, 4 and 5 to hammer out (but not completely smooth out because the main game story isn’t done yet, and ch. 5 ended on a damn cliffhanger!) And I may do Intermissions for those as well, depending on the length of each time frame between chapters.
So... those are my thoughts currently...
Thanks for reading through if you did to the end.
How did I get back on the soap box?

When you’re the kind of writer that likes a bit of detail...
I finally finished my nth rough draft of chapter 1 (...which I had to go back to now that there’s a height chart and we see that Grim is only half a head shorter than Cheka, a five year old...)
And now I’m working over my rough of ch. 2 and...
As someone who never cared much for sports growing up, not even bothering understanding the rules and whatnot (was not athletically inclined) I realized that I have to describe in some detail of how Magical Shift (Magift) is played...
Imagine the groan I let out when I realized I have to try to write out a sport section.
LUCKILY! During the beginning part of ch. 2 of the game, we know that the rules... more or less similar to American Football. And guess what? There’s an anime called Eyeshield 21 that so happens to cover said sport, and anime sport shows always have that extra flare for entertainment/keeping interest purposes that more or less helps with the ‘magic’ part of magical shift.
However, this means I have to look into how the game is normally played, apply magic to it, look at the rhythmic part of the game (which hardly helps since it’s just characters running/flying while the player hits the colored circles), and... go from there...
I could be lazy and just add in that they played a round, Leona’s team was obviously better and used that advantage to practically wipe the floor with the not so seasoned group... But that’s just not me!
But I also don’t want to be so detailed that it’s boring...
I know I have to be careful of that.
But once I get that, then the two sections of magift will be a breeze...
Though I have to figure out how Yuu gets to play at the opening match/towards the end of ch. 2...
Also, I’m still planning on uploading this fic on Ao3... It’s just gonna be a little(long) while.
I still don’t have a good enough title to even call this long fic...
Well, that’s about it for my update on my fic (that no one is really concerned about), and I’m going to use this time to hopefully get at least ch. 3 completed before ch. 6 comes out (which I’m in no hurry for it to come out, but also curious as to if Yuu/Mc is alright and what’s gonna happen with Grim?)

- SPOILERS FOR THE NEW EVENT, ALI ABU FIREWORKS! -
Cater commenting on Malleus taking away the wrong thing while Kalim and Jamil are speaking about their past is the funniest thing-
Also can we talk about the fact the Asim family renovated all of Scarabia dorm for Jamil and Kalim's arrival??
Because honey, that explains why Crowley made Kalim a dorm leader, and why he's trying to stay on the Asim's goodside at the cost of well, Jamil. It's probably one of the secrets Azul knows about Crowley that Azul can hold against him as blackmail for.
Kalim's family most likely one of the biggest sponsors for Night College.
Why? It's possible they have a history with Night Raven, or they want their son to be live a good life and be happy since he wanted to be with Jamil, or simply they want Kalim to learn and not face any penalties because he's Kalim. He's pretty childish, and tends to get himself into trouble because he doesn't understand the consequences of his actions because he grew up, well, rich.
And honestly, it's really fucked up. Crowley pushed aside the ideals of Scarabia, that one can work for their goals and dreams instead of waiting for them to come true, for money. That's hella fucked up. It enforces the ideas of Chapter 4 and shows Jamil wasn't lying about corruption in Night Raven, don't get me wrong, but it's still hella fucked up.
And it shows Crowley is corrupt, to some degree, since he's willing to take bribes. And, I doubt bribery is the only thing Crowley can be accused of and blackmailed for.
And where is all that money he's getting from the Asims going?! Pomefiore and Diasomnia?! Because Ramshackle isn't getting any of it and honestly, Grim, Yuu and basically everyone who knows about this can sue for it. Because Crowley isn't helping Ramshackle, at all. As seen by the hard work Grim and Yuu have to put in to keep the dorm going.

Hello, May i Please Request For Malleus, Vil, and Leona with a Significant other who Kisses the Back of The Boys' Hand as one of their Gestures of Affection
Like S/o Would only do it for them and Not Anyone Else, Thank You ♥️
Malleus Draconia
The first time you do it, Malleus gets this look of wonder in his eyes. He wasn’t fully expecting it, a gesture like this had been something he’d really only ever seen in novels he read, or done as a show of respect by a subordinate... he’s surprised at how intimate it can really feel.
His eyes gleam as he smiles at you, and he takes your hand to return it the kiss, done with the same sort of tenderness if not more — He keeps eye contact with you through the whole duration of that kiss, like he’s wordlessly communicating how much you mean to him.
It ends up becoming a common gesture between the two of you. More often than not, you’ll do it to him, then he does it to you, but sometimes it goes unreturned too, when either of you just do it at random. In that case, the response to it might be a kiss on the lips too.
Vil Schoenheit
Honestly just really loves it. He lives for that regal energy, when you take his hand into yours and kiss it that gently, eyes looking up at him full of fondness, Vil’s heart soars. It just makes him feel so loved and admired, even if it’s a gesture that’s seemingly so small.
He gets this proud smile when you do it to him, you might realize that some joking here and there is in order. Chuckling as you call him your majesty, you tell him you love him in this sweet, soft voice, and Vil laughs too before he kisses you.
He’ll return the gesture often, though not directly after you do it to him. When Vil kisses your hand, it’s often in silent praise, a way of telling you you’ve done a good job at something, that he’s proud of you. He’s partial to forehead kisses in this case, too, but since you seem to have a penchant for the hand kisses, he’ll indulge you.
Leona Kingscholar
He’s taken aback the first time it happens. Eyes slightly wide, he blinks a couple times in confusion, processing the scene in front of him. It’s just such a sweet and delicate way of showing affection? He’s not very used to something like that.
Smiles smugly as he tends to, “What are you treating me like some princess for, herbivore?” He asks, looking amused. Leona is surprised at himself when he finds that he enjoys it too, even though a part of him wonders if he should be put off by how tender the gesture is.
You already have a lot of banter together, and that ends up being yet another way to enable that. What sort of lines he goes with depend on his mood. Sometimes, he’ll make a whole show of bowing to you and kissing your hand as well, looking up with a teasing smirk, breaking some aspects of what “should” be an act of reverence.
