having bpd can be such an awful experience socially, because i struggle to even talk about my boundaries and needs openly because the stigma is so horrific and it's terrifying to be honest and vulnerable with those around me

my past experiences have been one of two very different yet infuriating responses:

people judge me and jump to conclusions about my behaviour, walk on eggshells around me and assume dangerous stereotypes about me

or

they insist that the disorder isn't real, that i am victim of 'modern day hysteria' which just immediately invalidates me and my experiences and my past and trauma, or that ive been misdiagnosed as autistic which is really unhelpful when i know what i have and people insist on pushing me into a box i don't fit in actually makes me feel a million times worse, because it's like they're trying SO hard to make it NOT bpd, as if that's the worst thing i could possibly have, you know?
