Though the puffs of smoky clouds were a delicate silver, the sky was a deep, ominous crimson, like the spilling of the blood of a goddess. The white moon was akin to an eye rolled back in a skull, and there was not a single gust of wind in the air.
The dark-haired captain watched it all with eyes that did not blink, with lips that did not utter a word. His fingers drummed against the hilt of his sword. Repetitive.
Contemplative.
Had a goddess truly died, spilling her remains over the entirely of the earth?
Had a goddess been struck down by a blade alike his own?
That could not have been possible.
No.
No, it truly could not have been possible.
The captain was the only man willing to do so, though his ancient sword would swing with reluctance.

Pink lipstick stains covered almost every inch of her favourite mirror, making it impossible to see one's reflection in it.
And yet she did not care.
Her kisses were far more valuable than determining the shades of her eyes, and she did not know a soul who disagreed.
Shifting on her elegant seat, she found just the right angle to catch the reflection of her lips, and began to reapply her make-up.
Those lips seduced kings and queens alike, and made peasants bow at her feet. Those lips could make any sinner or saint follow her every wish and whim.
Those lips killed anyone who so much as touched them.
As that was what her goddess decreed.
