Speaking of Gay Cannibal Tumblr... very shortly after I made the post referring to that notion, I binge-watched AMC's The Terror (s1) based on the book of that same name chronicling (in apparently decent historical accuracy insofar as it could) the failed Franklin expedition to the Arctic back in Victorian times. I knew nothing of the show, book, or real history prior.

And — lo and behold — I met with gay cannibalism. I can't say it's a wild coincidence either because I DID come across the series via Tumblr so I should have known what to expect from the outset, but still — I found it on maritime/Victorian/arctic/Royal Navy/gay pirate/piratecore Tumblr — and what are the odds?
