Inman gave very detailed art direction for the characters and scene. They were originated with the incredible help of Jay Marsh, @jaymarshart, who used 3D models with DAZ3D Studio. See my previous post. I got the characters, wall and city as separate renders from Jay as transparent PNG’s. I converted them as smart objects PSD’s in Photohop layers and move things around and added all sort of layers and edits. I created the axe in Illustrator and the predator looking helmet was completely painted in Photoshop. With only 3 sets of revisions we came to this final complicated cover. I love the way it turned out! The book is now available on Amazon as an ebook and paperback.

New book cover illustration work in progress! Working directly with the author on his 97,000 word novel called Lightshift - Return of the Judges by Inman B. Gwyn. It’s a sci-fi fantasy novel with lots of characters and action. He wanted 6 characters on the cover but a talked him down to 4. With all the action and details I thought it best to call on a expert in 3D characters using Daz 3D Studio. This project was made for #daz3d and Jay Marsh at @jaymarshart created the characters and I added detail and text. The client loves it so far.
