…Thank you for taking me to the market,” Daniel says quietly a few moments after they return to Terry’s mansion. Not home.

A lot.” Daniel’s lips quirk at the ends, pulling into a small, sweet smile. “Can we…” he glances down quickly, as if weighing his words, before looking up again. “…Can we go again, sometime?” A hand reaches up to brush his dark fringe absently off his forehead as he looks at Terry with soft brown eyes. In the setting sun, Daniel looks a dream.

A dream Terry wants nothing more than to make into reality; a reality where he carries him off to the bedroom, gets his hands and mouth on him and makes love to him but—

Instead he strides over and reaches gently for his boy’s hand. Daniel stiffens, immediately going tense, all doe-eyed dreaminess leaving his face for tenseness. A shadow of fear.

That stings, somewhat, but still, Terry brings the back of Daniel’s hand to his lips regardless. Leaves a lingering, tender kiss.

“We can go whenever you please, Danny.” He drops his hand, but doesn’t let go.

Daniel doesn’t say anything, his shoulders don’t relax, and his hand remains rigid in Terry’s. And yet, Terry is pleased to note the slight parting of that mouth, the slighter still flush on his boy’s cheeks. The defiant, stubborn look in his expression battling the flustered, pretty confusion.

Terry’s father was a serial cheater who broke his mother’s heart and caused her demise. Their marriage seemed to imply that he may have been abusive towards her.

Would Daniel ever be concerned that after all Terry has done to him—the kidnapping, the violence, the isolation, etc.—that Terry will be just like his father towards Daniel? Terry is a powerful man, physically and mentally. Would Daniel worry if he’d cheat on him, or abuse him?

No, he was never abusive, not in the traditional sense or the physical sense. He just wasn’t a great husband due to the cheating and the work a marriage would involve.

I don’t think Daniel would ever worry Terry would cheat on him - one he realizes how obsessed Terry is with him and honestly, how much Terry desires him carnally.

And honestly, Terry only has eyes for his boy. I don’t think there is anyone that could turn his head, so to speak.

Utterly enamoured with him - and besides, with so much time to make up for, Daniel will never be far away from him - Terry would never have them be apart from each other.

To physically abuse him? No, he’s not worried about that so much, but I think he’ll be cautious about what Terry is capable of - giving that he knows first hand what that is.

Besides, Terry would never think of raising a hand to Daniel.
