With the recent pandemic hits hard all over the world, my fave game also being hit hard on its upcoming events. @pokemongoapp had a ton of events supposed to happen—offline or online—but sadly, all othem are somewhat cancelled. Hence, they adapt and make some changes onto this game. Most recently, the best changes they did is the GO Battle League. Since the GO aspect of PoGO is to make you walk n be healthy, this requirement are no longer needed to earn yourself max. 7 sets of matches daily. Since raiding legendaries outside still need a cluster of people to win it, instead they put legendaries into this GO Battle League as a chance encounter if you win certain amount of matches. —— This is a great problem solver and I AM HOOKED! GO Battle League is no where near easy, since you need to pick 3 out of possible hundreds of pokemon and it’s a blind match up, online with other players. Despite the huge lag when you play it on semi-decent connection (please fix this damn lag @pokemongoapp), i had a lot of fun with this feature. And personally, i think they boost the legendaries encounter. I got myself at least 4-5x legendaries when i can win the matches. If you do play PoGO, i recommend you try out the GO Battle League. And if you’re lucky, you might encounter shiny legendaries! —— P.s LOOK AT THE GORGEOUSNESS THAT IS @thecreativekinds ANTIQUE BRASS! Love the muted walnut-ink-like color but with HD Blings on it! Hello March! It’s the month i’ve been waiting for the past year or so. I was about to go on vacation to Japan with friends, anticipating the sakura-filled spring. Until... the pandemic happened and... my flight has been cancelled. —— In a way, it’s also a relief for me. My parents been asking me over and over to reconsider going overseas due to the dire situation. To be honest, I won’t stop going if it’s not for the flight cancellation. But i was more panicking on the thought of going on quarantine after vacation. Thankfully, i don’t have to deal with it. Lodging & transport thankfully can be refunded. We are 2 days away on making our visa when we got the news. Talk about great timing. Stay safe out there everyone. Wash your hands regularly and stay healthy. Since there’s no cure/medicine yet, your body immune is your best weapon so far to tackle this virus. 👍🏻👍🏻 —— P.s those long tail-end flourish is hugely inspired by @suzcunningham calligraphy. I just love the playfulness it gives. And FINALLY, i can write with LPEF & @thecreativekinds paints again! Been struggling since some of the nibs is so scratchy. Got one that isn’t, and Euphoria is just so gorgeous. It has multi-chrome color, greenish tint on one side and fuschia on the other. It’s so hard to capture the beauty of this paint. A little bit late(like 3days late) for this post. 27th Feb is Pokemon Day! It celebrates the release of original Red & Green version of Pokemon game in Japan. Tried a more colorful options with Pentel Fude Sign Pen. The pink & blue from the Lamy FP reminds me of Nidorino vs Gengar start screen of the game. While the other colors represent the 3 starter types, fire, water & grass! 😬😬😬 i still love this brush pen so much. It’s easy to use, very practical, solid colors & i love the tip. Highly highly recommend it if you’re starting calligraphy through brush calligraphy. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 —— P.s. sorry for the humongous chubby fingers on the start of the vids. A nice change for once to post something done with fountain pen. Trying out spencerian? Cursive? Something in between? I’m not sure anymore what style is this. 🤣 What i can tell you is this style is so nice to use with fountain pen. And apparently, my @pilotpenusa Kakuno EF is writing smoothly now. All i need was a tilt to the nib. It used to be so scratchy & the inks isn’t flowing as well. @lamy_official safari is always nice to write with, flourishes always look good with it. It has EF nib, but it felt like F nib for my taste. Hence, it’s nice when pairing it with finer nibs from Kakuno. —— Just another reminder, i’ll be attending #comifuro14 this weekend, 22-23Feb at #kartikaexpocenter. Still using Esterbrook 357, still too springy for my hand. But, i love how dramatic the shades & hairlines thick differences there. And also, trying out Noodler’s Ink Ottoman Rose. Slightly late on this monthly mandatory post. Can’t believe it’s February already! Time flies so fast 😱 This time around i’m back with crystal walnut ink. Was going to use the trusty TCK, but i changed my nibs recently because my usual LPEF is so rusty. And I haven’t bought new LPEF, so gonna make do. Currently using Esterbrook 357. A very vintage & pointy nibs. Very springy, produce super duper beautiful hairlines & somehow isn’t able to catch metallic paints on the nib and onto the paper. Sometimes it can write with metallic paints, but it struggles on the hairlines. Hence, i’m back with walnut ink. —— Although not anywhere near affordable, Esterbrook 357 is just delish. It’s really good for practice on writing with light-pressure. With slight pressure, it produces thick enough shade already. I might just save this back to my nibs box, after new LPEF is available. Now that all letters are sent out, here’s the look of 2019 season greeting artwork. I finally able to make a wreath! Yeayy! I pulled so many references for this one. Still trying out many ways of watercoloring. —— And that will be my goal for 2020. I need to do more watercolor. Because i haven’t found my own style of this particular skillset. It’s pretty tricky. Maybe gonna try less layout and more on smaller objects now. I keep trying out big and layout drawings, but i still haven’t explored the watercoloring part itself. Feels like i get ahead of myself whenever watercoloring is involved. But, i know i need to learn more about this medium. So, once a month posting of watercolor gonna be my new target. Hopefully i won’t break this goal. 🤞🏻 —— P.s. the ribbon lining is done with metallic paints on nib. So it looks thinner, but easier to make lines with it. This year’s (or is it last year?) greeting card envelope. Trying out this way of wrapping it. The envelopes are made from large paper and cut with @wermemorykeepers punch board, which save me so much time on making it from scratch. Probably need better and easier-to-cut paper for next envelope. Also, better wax seal. Would you believe it if i say i only have 1 wax seal? Recently, more like before new year, i got sent a package of new metallic paints. Local made by @siscalligraphy, Fs Watercolor set, Joy to The World looks fantastic! For a metallic watercolor, this brand has such a fine grind that the hairline is sooo thin. I love several colors such as Copper, Mellow & Ronze (very interesting names) have such a solid & bright colors. And the colors are so nice to make a gradation piece like this one. It has a nice flow for calligraphy works. —— There are some things that needed improvements. The paints are hard to rewet for the most part. The metallic feels more pearly than blings, which is totally fine by me. It’s just a matter of when & where to use it properly on an artwork. Colors like Baby Powder & Coerulus are a lil bit more transparent than the others. They work well on white papers though. —— Overall, i love this set (and the extra copper). I love Camine & Copper the most, they look stunning on papers. Hopefully, more colors to come soon! 😊😊😊 And kudos to Sisca who sent this set to me. Last saturday, i finally get the chance to watch @knivesout with my friends. It is such a fun movie! If you can watch it with your friend, i highly highly HIGHLY RECOMMEND it. I probably have the best audience experience on watching movie in theater to date with this movie. At the end, people actually clapped because of how good the end of this movie is. —— Knives Out is a murder mystery or whodunnit genre movie, directed by @riancjohnson. The script is also written by Rian, which is insanley brilliant & really blew my mind. It is fun, engaging, funny as hell and most of all, twists all around. Not to mention with such an ensemble cast, you will definitely be entertained in this movie. The best part? Chris Evans in fluffy wool sweater. Last post for @thecreativekinds giveawa challenge prompt, Nature. I just able to squeeze this in for this week. So many things to do this end of year, i wasn’t able to keep up on earlier weeks. On this prompt, i’m experimenting this type of flourishing again. It’s been fun to work out where the lines would go. Sometimes, winging it is the best way to flourish. —— And i love this color combo as well. Rosemary, Mermaid Green, Marigold & Lilac Orchid by TCK looks amazing when it all comes together. Also, i use @midori_designphil Blackboard letter pad paper & pilot juice up white pen for this piece. Midori paper is very smooth, very lovely for pointed pen. @pilotpenusa Juice Up white pen is really thin. 0.4 size and it flows really well.
