the city where we live doesn't allow public barbecues so my brother fucking welded a grill to a handcart and now hosts "chill and grill sessions" where he sends all his friends his live location so they can hunt him down on their bikes with sausages in their backpacks while he carts it around evading the police like some sort of barbecue vigilante, grilling on the run. i have never been prouder of him

I nearly died of a coughing fit after getting the giggles over that last one.
Oh, I so needed this as an antidote to the hateful bigotry I've been stuck hearing on Xitter from the people supporting That Woman (I have a whole dissertation on their not actually being fans of her work so much as of her, and I appreciate the epic proportion of the original fandom that are now pretending she never existed). That crap actually made me cry yesterday, seeing so much of their total invalidation of the fact that I existed before I was an adult (I'm non-binary, and yes, I would have been a "trans child", if I'd not been trapped in ignorance of the words to describe myself, due to Section 28).
This? This is so much better. Especially with the extra emotional backup in imagining the way Freddie Mercury would have dealt with all this mess.
Muggleborn culture at Hogwarts AUs and I have a special relationships

"How am I supposed to tell the difference between a child challenging my authority and a child asking for clarification because they have a disability?"
You're not. If you expect anyone to submit to your authority, you're inherently ableist. The system was designed to exclude disabled people and you're upholding the system.
You're always justifying your authority by saying that it's your job to teach them right from wrong. If you actually believe that and it's not just a bullshit excuse to justify your abuse, then you should be encouraging them to ask for clarification and reasons.

It also includes those of us who "don't look disabled", or who can be outside without a personal assistant or a carer.
None of which, by the way, asks to be assaulted, the way I've repeatedly been just for being outdoors, alone, as a comparatively young adult wheelchair user who looks even younger than they are. Never said a word, just happened to match someone's prejudices.
Nobody deserves to be attacked, let alone just for being someplace. And we don't need permission to exist just as we are.
LET US BE!
Disabled people should be allowed to exist in public. Yes, I mean all disabled people.
That includes people with tic disorders.
That includes people who smell ‘bad’.
That includes people who can’t help being loud.
That includes people who move ‘strangely’.
That includes people with bulky mobility aids.
That includes people who drool.
That includes people who struggle with incontinence.
We all should get to exist, however that looks, and go out in public, use public transport, do activities outside our homes. And we should be allowed to do those things without being glared at or having ableist things said to us.

Just to be clear, if your idea of an ideal future at any point involves killing disabled people or allowing disabled people to die- you're not a punk, you're a fascist. Hope that helps

if one more person comments on my "we need to keep payphones/public phones" post with "what we need are free phone charging stations and wifi hotspots, like in new york!" i am going to lose my mind. what do you people not understand about "not everyone has a smartphone" and "phones can break". how are these new concepts.
