✨ CHEERS TO THE EXPLORERS ✨
Portraits from @the_explorers_club Annual Dinner are live! It’s fun to get gussied up every now and again—particularly when I have a chance to sit in power alongside storyteller friends like @deneabuckingham & @julianne_snow.
IMAGE 1: Thanks to the immensely talented @felixkunze for the chance to sit for a portrait. It was rad to play in his studio and see his team work like a well-oiled machine.
IMAGE 2: Props to @patriciakoophotography, not only because I’m stoked to have portraits shot by her, but also because she manages to keep the positive energy high on longgg red carpet shoots.

THE EXPLORERS CLUB ANNUAL DINNER
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What a blessing it has been to spend the last four days in NYC with The Explorers Club, celebrating and communing with the dreamers, doers and change-makers who are working to improve our planet (*and* universe) for all of its inhabitants, great and small.
The Explorers Club is a multidisciplinary, professional society dedicated to the advancement of field research, scientific exploration and resource conservation. It was founded in 1904 to support “the Scientific Exploration of Land, Sea, Air & Space”, and its members include the first people to visit the North & South Poles, the first to reach the Summit of Everest, and the first to set foot on the Moon.
I’m honored to be a Fellow in The Explorers Club for my storytelling work, and it is my absolute delight to uplift and shine a light on some of the world-changing stories that pass through the Club’s hallowed halls.
Bonus: sometimes membership in the Club means you get to hold Megalodon teeth in your bare hands, sit on Apollo-era lunar rovers while dressed to the nines, or marvel as ballerinas dance to Tchaikovsky with the world’s preeminent explorers watching on (Apollo astronauts included).
I'm thrilled to invite you into the Club through these snapshots from the #ExplorersClubAnnualDinner weekend.

That’s a wrap on another successful producing project for Google!
I’m immensely proud of the work our content production & show teams did to pull off three powerful keynote sessions at Leaders Circle 2024, bringing together the best and the brightest minds in the world to connect, inspire, and move the needle on AI advancement within corporate environments.
I’ve had the pleasure of teaming up with MAS x Google Cloud twice over the last year, and have loved collaborating with each team’s creative and intellectual powerhouses to produce impactful programming.
Here’s to telling more change-making stories together!
Special props to Leaders Circle 2024’s esteemed speakers, including (but not limited to) Katie Couric, Thomas Kurian, Sir Demis Hassabis, Matt Renner, Andre Agassi, Ruth Porat & Alison Wagonfeld.

What a joy it was to speak at the TGA Show last week! The Travel Goods Association put together an inspiring event, replete with impressive innovations, enlightening talks, and a truly impactful roster of speakers, many of whom I've admired throughout my career. Hats off to all those continuing to innovate on not only the travel experience, but also travelers' connection to *and* impact on the world around us.

It was a treat to talk adventure, purpose, life, and love with author Nikki Vargas at Portland’s Powell’s Books on Saturday. The nation’s largest bookstore—plus one of Oregon’s biggest tourist draws—Powell’s is an icon. Also icons: the folks who braved power outages, frozen pipes, and downed trees to come hear me and Nikki talk! Heroes all.

Listed at Number 1 on Hemispheres' list of "10 Adventurous Boat Excursions to Take in 2024", this Peru canoe expedition is not only an adventure--it can also help save our planet. Read on to learn more about my recent experience in the Amazon rainforest, and keep an eye out for a print copy of the magazine on your next United Airlines flight.

Cheers to the close of another year! As 2023 comes to an end, I’m reflecting on some of the year’s highlights, both professional and personal.
instagram
This year, I’m particularly proud to have:
— Wrapped assignments as a filmmaker, photographer, and writer in such beautiful places as Peru, Tahiti, Portugal, and beyond
— Completed a canoe expedition through the Peruvian Amazon, paddling a 660-pound wooden canoe between remote Indigenous communities in the rainforest
— Won numerous international photography competitions for my Mongolia photo series “The Last of the Eagle Hunters”
— Had my photography both fine-art printed for large-scale home galleries and painted by professionals for their portfolios
— Written nearly 20 articles for publications such as AFAR, Hemispheres, and MO/AD Magazine
— Completed 30+ live and live-to-tape media hits as an on-air travel expert for news outlets across the country
— Produced the keynote and main stage programming at live events for Google
— Attended my first @the_explorers_club Annual Gala in NYC
— Completed nearly 100 OrangeTheory workouts — and PRed in 15+ benchmarks such as the timed mile (6:48!)
— Loved the adventure of parenting a toddler
It’s been a wild and winding year, and those highlights serve to remind me that for every challenge there’s a silver lining, and for every mile of not knowing what’s around the bend, there’s a reason to believe in whatever lies ahead.
Thanks to each of you for sharing in the journey. As always, I appreciate you. ✨

I’m delighted to announce that my photography series The Last of the Eagle Hunters has won another award. This time, it’s ⭐️GOLD⭐️ in the renowned reFocus Awards Black & White Photo Contest!
It’s beautiful to know that this series continues to resonate with viewers, while also immersing them in the world of western Mongolia’s nomads.
I’m so deeply grateful for the Judges’ support of this series, particularly given what icons they all are in the field of photography.
Thank you, team reFocus, for this honor!
