Hey, Secret Disney Angel here! I really like reading your answers, you give really great detail and is fun to read, and that is why I'm asking this: what is your favorite disney memory?
Aaaah, sorry this took so long, I was away for basically 4 days so this is my first opportunity since that to reply
Also can you sense a theme in my skills at responding XD
I’m not too sure though. My childhood was pretty... shit. That’s the way I’d put it, so it’s hard to think of specific instances?
It’s more generally waking up at stupid o’clock on Christmas, and waking up my brother, and then curling up in the living room to put on whatever films we could find and wanted to watch, and a large part of that was obviously going to be Disney.
And I remember being really excited when an older friend at primary school gave me a huge bag with something like a dozen VHS tapes of DIsney films in it (can’t remember all of them off the top of my head but it was like Dumbo, Jungle Book 2, Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, the Little Mermaid, and... I can’t remember the rest from the VHS stack). I was something like 5 years old and I’d seen very few films before that it blew my mind to have so many films suddenly.
I strongly associate Winnie the Pooh with going on holiday, because my brothers and I would always ask for it and only shut up once it was put on.
I ended up getting into doing singing lessons bc my parents realised I had Lion King + Mulan songs stuck in my head constantly that I was going to sing and the only way to get it more bearable was to get me to have singing lessons. Although I’ve had a few bad instances from singing in groups or whatever (why is my voice so high -_- ), I would say overall I’ve had very positive experiences from it?

Hey, Secret Disney Angel here! I see the first question was hard to answer and I get it, the disney library is amazing, now i gotta ask which disney movie do you think looks more aesthetically pleasing?
(This is also tricky, sue me, I’m gonna just restrict myself to a few though, so less rambling)
I kind of like the extremes of routes in how characters can be portrayed visually I think? What pops to mind are the really smooth, more “realistic” type of style of things like Tangled on one hand, where you can see a lot of the detail and there’s just a sort of flair to it visually, but the Princess and the Frog really pops to mind on the other hand as having a lot of energy just in how things are drawn/coloured (especially in “I’ve Got Friends on the Other Side.”), and using that a lot and really well in character designs. I really love the art style in Mulan and I think that also falls really well into being able to use forms and colours in really exaggerated ways to show quite a lot about people/things, but I just like noting it in particular because... well, Mulan, okay.
In terms of the general environment, Tarzan and Brother Bear spring to mind, I really love that sort of detailed painted sort of background style? But at the same time, I like when characters can interact freely with backgrounds, with Frozen coming to mind in terms of making really present looking environments?
If you’re including sounds into aesthetics (some people do), I’m all about good villain songs, and I generally find most people are pretty reliable at naming great Disney villain songs, so I’m sure you know the sort I’m meaning too. On a related note, good luck getting me to even gently brush past Disney music without mentioning Hunchback.

Hey! This is your Disney Secret Angel, I'm sorry I'm this late I hope I can make it up to you, but right now I got a question: what's your favorite Disney movie and character? Have a nice day!
Going straight for the big questions, eh? That’s how you get a ramble from me, hope you braced yourself ~
I hope you have a nice day too! Especially after my floundering attempt at something resembling an actual answer
You’ve got nothing to worry about in terms of stuff to make up or whatever! There was a delay in getting out who’d be whose Secret Angel and I was told that info for my bean might take a few more days to get to me still so, yeah, I’m fairly sure there’s been a bit of a delay for several people and given that it’s December and loads of people have finals around now and so on, I don’t think anyone can be blamed for that!
(Also I’ve like. Re-un-made myself up if that makes any sense with my ramble, I think, so even if there were an issue, there’s not now).
I feel like my answer would be really different depending on how recently I’d watched each film, given I know what I’m like with obsessing over whatever I’ve watched most recently. It’s hard enough for me to pick out favourite films, let alone favourite characters. I’m going to try to state favourite characters when I’m actually fairly sure for a given film but. Yeah. Sometimes it’s just that all the characters are great, or that it’s more the themes overall that speak to you than just one character, y’know?
It’s hard to know exactly? I have phases where I’ll end up obsessed with one film or another for a while, and, trust me, everyone around me knows what my obsessions are at any given time. Some of my favourites are Hunchback of Notre Dame (I... have a preference for the theatre version’s sound track but I’ve not physically seen it so I can’t speak for more than that), Brother Bear, Mulan, and Dumbo, but honestly the question for me is more of working out those I like more or less I guess if that makes any sense? I had a big-ass Lion King obsession for ages, and I stand by TLK being amazing and TLK2 still being very good. I’ve noticed recently that a lot of the films (and cartoons, looking at you, Danny Phantom) I liked a lot when I was very small you can really easily read LGBT themes into, go figure. Like, literally all those that pop into my head there right away, it’s pretty easy to pick out the themes without having to stretch anything There’s loads I haven’t seen which I really really want to too (and avoiding Moana spoilers is hell and I gave up on that).
I like Merida and Mulan most out of the official princesses, and then I’d probably put Tiana, then Ariel, if that’s helpful at all? My housemate and I rewatched Lilo and Stitch a few days ago and !! I’d forgotten how great each of the titular characters are! And I watched Tarzan for the first time about a month ago when our wifi was down and we got bored and so just bought a load of cheap DVDs and aaaaaa it’s great. I’m looking through the list of Disney films now to check I’ve not missed anything really obvious as something I like, and I’m just... spotting how many I haven’t seen and really want to.
Gonna call it now that if anyone actively dislikes Finding Nemo (All three of the main fish!), the Incredibles (Violet or Dash), or Up, I’m allowed to pout at them disapprovingly. Wreck-it-Ralph (Vanellope) and Zootopia (Jodie) are both great too aaa Why must Disney make so many great films, that’s the question
Shocking as it is, I owned the DVD of Jungle Book 2 about 6 years before I’d even seen the original - and I only even watched the Jungle Book because it was the year 6 production at my primary school - so I remember JB2 way more nostalgically, and I find the songs (...song) from it way more ear-wormy than anything from the original. I was cast as one of the vultures in the play and I was meant to be one of the three doing the harmonies but I ended up being sufficiently loud in my singing that I ended up being the only one doing the harmonies, unmiked, with the other three miked on tune. I have good memories of JB from that school play, anyway, but I don’t know if I’d classify it among favourites? Just as like, nostalgic, ig?
Lion King was the first Disney film I owned, and then Brother Bear. Those are the two huge nostalgia beasts for me... And of course Scar is the best TLK character. Kenai and Tanana are the best from Brother Bear.

I don’t know if anyone’s actually interested in my project or not but I just realised I haven’t actually stated what it is yet and that it might be interesting for some people.
Some people have the guts to talk to people directly. I do not.
Some people come out by writing a letter, and I’ve tried that and I was dismissed entirely and ignored and nothing happened afterwards, and although I’d still need to come out again anyway due to having a waaaaaay clearer idea of my own identity now, it not achieving anything has rather put me off coming out in writing.
And that left drawing.
So, yep. I am coming out with a series of comic-style drawings. I have 60 pages of space to fit stuff on, in a pink book, a white book, and a blue book, and honestly that combo and stuff I’ve already drawn/written about on here should say a lot.
I’ll probably be uploading a queue of scans of some bits but obviously not all of it for reasons I really hope don’t need explaining (though one of the pages I wasn’t planning to upload has nipples on and I’m extremely tempted to get that online the 17th, or else to put a male celeb’s face who is a right tit over the nipples.
How this goes is probably going to have a fairly significant effect on what I’m posting here and how much I’m posting here. Apparently, 8% of trans people are instantly kicked out as soon as their parents know, and 10% are met with violence (I’m pretty sure there’d be an overlap there...), at least for the US (not so sure about the UK). I would not be surprised, given my parents, if I were in either of those groups. If it goes waaaaay better than I think it will then you might be seeing reblogs of stuff with parents’ reactions added, so, trust me, y’all’ll know if it went really well. And there’ll be a load of venty art if it went really badly.

This looked suspicious

I do mean to finish up inktober at some point but I’m not mentally in a good enough place for most of the remaining prompts and i didn’t want to jump straight to slice right now. So here’s a different thing I’ve wanted to draw for a little while? I could probably have composed this better, but hey-ho. Potentially I could have thought of a more unique pose than ATLA’s Dragon dance, but I thought it was cool, and a nice inversion to put two female martial artists in there, have the firey one be the small one, and the airy one be the tall one, and such… It makes sense in my head.
Also, pro tip; don’t just continue inking when you start having a sneezing fit from your cold. You’ll do something stupid like jump and make one of the lines stupidly out from where it should be and forced to make a whole load of the lines super thick to hide the error. Not that that happened here at all. Nope.

Well
This change to tumblr rules has a rather fun impact on the project I’m working on.
Y’know the change I’ll make if I ever upload this online? Find some real dodgy cis male celeb and casually doctor his nipples over.
They’re definitely not female presenting... If anyone can find me a picture of GW Bush with his shirt off, that’d be much appreciated. But only one, this is going to be traumatic enough with just one.

“May I please draw your OC?”
Reblog this message if you encourage anyone that wants to draw your OC to do so.  No need to ask for permission in advance.
Go for it.  Draw my OC.  If you want, I’ll even give you reference posts.  Go to town on it.
You are welcome to draw my OC and surprise me with the result.  Seriously.  In fact, I encourage it.  I will proudly display whatever it is you submit to me regarding my OC.  There is a chance that I will squeal about it for several days.
Even if you feel you aren’t good at whatever artistic adventure it is you do, please feel free to submit it to me.  I want to see what you have done.

regarding all the hooplah about my work being reposted without credit: this is why. i really prefer retweets and reblogs, but if you must repost, this is what citing the creator had the power to do. removing us from the equation is denying us proper exposure to potential clients when this is the only means of income we have. edit: the article shown here is not about me!! i appreciate all the congrats comments but i was merely showing the power proper credit has.

Yo
Just a mild update! I have been doing art since my wifi died and I started uploading the hoard and all, but it’s largely been in what I am dubbing my “coming out book” because my goodness I cannot deal with not being out to my parents and I feel like that’d be better for me than just trying and failing to only use words.
I still have art things outside that that I am going to be doing my best to get done!
I’ve also had a good chunk of other business since the no-wifi art hoard to sort out irl and have been trying to prioritise that. I think I actually have enough time tonight to catch up the last few things of catching up from no-wifi, and should be able to do more art stuff again (ie the stuff that other people have requested from me!) from tomorrow.

In the Tangled: the Series art style, Ylva goes from being 99% puppy, to being 12 puppies in a trench coat. Literally.
Even her little crooked smile looks even cuter. Werewolf fangs look cuter. I didn’t even know that was possible. Anyone who knows me irl and has noticed a pattern in characters I tend to like should know that making me like werewolves more is hard.
Honestly probably going to yoink the tone variation on the cheeks and so on for my own art styles, I really like how it looks and it’s pretty easy and gives a little more focus onto the eyes (for me at least). This is sadly the last of them I have drawn in this style for now, but if they prove popular for here, even without being actually from TTS, I’ll probably do more - including fan art, obviously.

What do you mean, obviously hastily done because I was bored of only doing traditional versions of these but was still mostly in a traditional art mood so just wanted to get back to traditional art? That’s ridiculous.

I appreciate every note I get, honestly, and I get super hyped now to see that stuff actually gets notes in plural but!!!!!
I freaking love this guy’s art and I follow him on main, and he liked the only fan art drawing of his d&d campaign I have yet done and that makes me super happy
I mean, every note makes me happy! Feed me more notes! I love seeing stuff getting notes now and not just having single lonely spikes on my activity chart, and it’s been really great to have got stuff actually going into double digits fairly regularly now and I love y’all who like things regularly and everything! But like, extra level, I guess?

Show me your fics and if I approve (and once I have everything I need to do first done) we shall see what can be done.
Also be reasonable if like 50 people all see this I’m not gonna manage everyone’s.
Every writer on Tumblr: “I would combust out of love if someone ever drew fanart of my fic!!” Me: “oh man I wanna draw this scene BUT THEY WOULD PROBABLY HATE IT AND HATE ME FOR THE NERVE”
