Angry doesn't even begin to describe my feelings on this. If I see any "CBS pride" crap with Kate or Lucy during pride month I will freaking explode.

I will never forgive them for this.

NCIS Hawai'i is the first and only* female led show of the franchise, plus it has a wlw couple, and it gets cancelled after 3 seasons despite having great viewing numbers.

NCIS gets renewed for a 22nd (!!!) season, NCIS L.A. had 14 seasons, NCIS New Orleans had 7. There are plans for a Gibbs prequel and a Tony/Ziva spin off (which nobody asked for). NCIS Sydney gets a 2nd season (though chances are it won't see more than that).

So, the franchise is not dead, it's striving and being milked. And yet, apparently there's no money for NCIS Hawai'i. Ridiculous.

This decision reeks of misogyny and homophobia. Which is funny, because they tried so hard this season to make the show more palatable to male conservative viewers, with bringing a big strong manly boss man into the cast and minimizing the gay interactions by having only one lesbian at a time in most of the episodes. And yet it seems that wasn't enough for the CBS boss dudes. Fuck them.

*I say "only", because, let's be real, NCIS Sydney is not female led, it's a male/female co-leadership with the added het bait of will they/won't they.

No literally. We did not need Sam. It took the focus off of the main cast and I was left just rolling my eyes every time he came on screen. Sam is cool... for LA. Which this is not.

I watch NCIS Hawaii because I love Jane Tennant and the team and their dynamic. I love Whistler and Kai's chaotic sibling energy. I love my girls Kate and Lucy and was excited to see more of them in Season 4, but I guess it doesn't fucking matter anymore.

To have one of the episodes be called, "The next thousand," and then immediately cancel the show like 3 episodes later is an atrocity and I will never forgive CBS for treating this show and it's cast like garbage.

cool great to know our shortened suddenly-final season not only was missing a principle character for about a third of it but also wasted over half of the season focusing on a guy from a different branch of the franchise that nobody asked for and who has genuinely done nothing but detract from the characters we were all actually there for

I'm a sucker for soft Valcarol. Don't get me wrong, I love the angst. I love writing the angst, but all the fluffy "Marv" and "Val" fanfic interactions have me kicking and squealing. Bonus points if Val calls her "Love" because I just think that's the most precious thing ever.

No literally! While I love writing, it's honestly the engagement and the community that really keeps me going some days. It's very hard to write when you think your stories suck, so if you think a story is good, tell the author why! If you like my stories, tell me! If you like anyone's stories on AO3, tell them! Read those WIPs and be a part of the growth and journey!

Commenting on works I love makes both me and the authors so happy, and I never truly understood how important that interaction was until I started writing myself.

We are a community. Not content. If fanfic is to continue, we need more engagement and interaction. Give those new works a chance!

What if all fanfiction writers had the same attitudes that so many readers do? What if we treated our stories like content?

Readers: I won’t read WIPs, only completed work and LONG fics.

Writers: I will only post finished works once a year, you will never see 90% of my ideas and have no part of the creative process.

Readers: I will only read works that have tons of views/kudos/bookmarks.

Writers: I won’t update unless I have interest in my story. I’ll post a new chapter for every 100 kudos, 10 comments, and 5 bookmarks.

Readers: I can do whatever I want with fanfics, sell bound copies and criticise them publicly.

Writers: I will delete my fics without warning and never share more.

This is how you end fandom culture. This is how you lose AO3 and access to so many incredible stories for FREE.

Valkyrie and Carol are such a great dynamic. One is an alcoholic king of the remnants of Asgard who does old spice adverts, loves a fight and spent decades on Big Fight Planet where there’s always a party and also people get eaten because she didn’t want to deal with losing everyone she loved and believed in. The other is the most powerful person in the galaxy who is also constantly in 90s nostalgia, refuses to acknowledge her trauma and brings her cat on missions. She accidentally caused an apocalypse. Both have insane trauma and both will drop everything to help the other. They’re quite possibly in an open poly relationship but are each other’s number one. Valkyrie has a sword

Currently finishing up my draft for the rest of my Stupid Humans and Homicidal Elves work, and one of my notes is as follows:

Amaya: says something along the lines of, "We can be friends. I will be satisfied with being friends because you are the best thing in my life and I don't want to lose this relationship."

Janai: "Bitch if you don't force your tongue down my throat rn I will actually declare war on your country."

Gren and Kazi in the distance: high fiving/ "I feel like we should be paid for the amount of sheer emotional labor we have done over the past 6 months."
