DO I BELIEVE THE DIGITAL PH METER OR THE STUPID COLOR STRIPS?!?!
Cause if im to believe the digital meter, holy hell i have been dyeing in waaaayyyy too acidic of a solution since its supposed to be pH 4.

Dye Inspiration: Malec
I'm just finishing up Red Scrolls of Magic by Cassandra Claire, and I've been loving it so far! However, I do think the book should be renamed.
(See the spoiler under the cut at the end)
The timing works out perfectly because out if the 3 projects worth of yarn that I have left, I currently have the yarn for the Malec colorway I have been planning for ages! I've also got all the colors tested and ready to go, and I'm trying a new exciting method! I'll definitely be doing a process post for this one, so follow me to keep an eye out for it in the next week or two!

I can't believe at one point I thought I would never need the third ring...
I'm at 95 test dyes that have recorded and reproducable colors, and I just realized that I need to add my other ring to fit everything in! I really can't believe how much testing I have done, and am still needing to test stuff!

So many colors to test!!!
17The only skeins I have left to dye are earmarked for 3 specific projects that I haven't figured out at least one color for. ive been itching to dye something, and I have a few projects that I have the dyes figured out for, but don't have the yarn for them! So I decided I needed to test out the last colors for the projects I DO have the yarn for.
I ended up mixing up more colors than I initially expected I would cause I wanted to test a few different shades of each planned color.
Putting the yarn in the dye pot is one of my favorite moments! It's the first moment where you get an idea if your experiments might end up being close to the color you imagined, and the start of the excitement of transforming plain white yarn into something more!
About 30 mins later and I'm starting to get an idea of which colors might actually work best. I'm excited to see if they end up right, or if I need to adjust my formulas! I'm a little skeptical that the olive-ey green is going to end up how I hoped, so I'm expecting to have to adjust that one and do another test.

A beautiful and shimmery wool and merino silk blend dyed in shades of blue and grey. I thought the shine of this yarn was a really good reflection of the way Kosmo the Space Wolf from Voltron glows when he is about to teleport!
I REALLY love how this one came out, and I just want to use this base yarn for everything now! It's so shiny and fluffy and lovely to work with!!

Base yarn: Knit Picks Preciosa Tonal| 100% Merino Wool | 273 yards | Worsted
Super soft and fluffy Merino dyed shades of pink and red. I saw @aoiaoimm‘s fanart of Oikawa from Haikyuu, and couldn’t get over how pretty the colors were! I just HAD to dye it! The process of dyeing it up threw me for a few loops, but it ended up so pretty!

The product of a spur of the moment inspiration by a request from the Tiger & Bunny Discord that my friend is part of, this is a beautiful blend of Merino, Baby Alpaca, and Mulberry Silk. It has beautiful ply definition and a tiny bit of shine that makes it look very reminiscent of the hard and shiny armor that Barnaby and Kotetsu wear while fighting off villains in Sternbild!

Finished Object: Voltron Paladins!
Colorway: Voltron Paladins!
Base yarn: wool/polymide blend | 175 yards
I’ve had the idea for this yarn for so long that I actually started mixing the colors back in August, so this yarn was a long time coming! The result is 4 skeins of variegated speckle-dyed yarn to match the sketchy feeling of the voltron cut scene.
I’m pretty happy with how this yarn came out and I think Pico was too! He was such a good model for me :)

FO: ATLA Nations blanket
6 months, 200 hours, ~60,000 stitches, and 28 skeins of yarn.
Guys, I'm REALLY proud of this one!
This entire project was completed during my 4 hour commute by bus, ferry, and vanpool! I made the 4 pieces separately and stitched them together at the end. Each piece was pretty much at the upper size limit of what i could handle taking on my commute.
Each piece of the blanket was made with the c2c stitch using Berrocco Weekend.
I created charts for each of the pieces using a cross stitch pattern maker app, printed them out, and used a 4-color pen to mark my progress. The water symbol was the most tedious panel to work on! So many color changes... So many ends to weave in 😭 but I survived! I probably would have hated myself a little less if I had worked on the other diagonal, but by the time I realized my mistake it was too late to start over.
This is now a favorite of anyone who comes to my house and wanted a blanket to snuggle under on the couch!

FO: Victuuri
Here they are! All the finished Victuuri yarns in one place!

Colorway: Victuuri Duetto
Base yarn: Cloudborn Highland Sock | 178 yards
This was the initial yarn that I set out to make this time. Its a long changing gradient yarn that is inspired by the costumes that Victor and Yuri wear during the Grand Prix exhibition. I wanted to make a gradient that blended the costumes of one from the other to symbolize their relationship. I dyed two skeins of this yarn.
Colorway: Victuuri Intermission
Base yarn: wool/polymide blend | 175 yards
I had a bunch of dye left over from the gradient yarn, so decided to try dyeing a yarn that alternates sections of gradient and white. It ended up being trickier than I expected to get the exact result I wanted, but I like how it turned out.
Colorway: Victuuri Ice Spray
Base yarn: wool/polymide blend | 175 yards
I used up the last of the dye by making a speckled yarn. I love how this one turned out.
