hot girl tips to be more productive
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With a million things to do, where do we find the time? Sometimes it can be so easy to just procrastinate, not do your work and keep pushing it back till it's too late. Let's not do that anymore.
5-minute rule - start small. If you've been putting something off for a long time, trying to commit 1 hour to it can be challenging. You can't do a marathon without a warm-up first! Could you set a timer for 5 minutes to do that task? After 5 minutes if you want to continue, go for it; if you don't, that's okay, because at least you've done 5 minutes today, which is better than 0. Tomorrow or later in the day, try to challenge yourself to do 7 minutes this time, then 10, then 15, and you will get into that rhythm.
Eliminate distractions - it's all because of that damn phone 🙄 but seriously, tech and social media can have such a tight grip over our productivity and our attention. If you cannot control your usage, set app timers that lock the app after you use it for a certain amount of time or delete the app. I've been using a minimalist phone launcher called 'OLauncher' that removes all my icons and makes me manually have to type and search for the app. In the time it takes me to search for the app, I get to ask myself, "What am I looking for? Do I need to use it for something specific or do I just want to scroll?"
Schedule properly - note down all your commitments and non-negotiables in an app like Google Calendar and make sure all your big events are displayed there. Some people can fall into the habit of planning every second of their day, but I instead delegate a few tasks to each day and give myself any time within the day to complete them, the important thing being not when I do them, but that I do them in the end.
Write to-do lists - now this doesn't just mean in-app lists, which are very useful. Physically write them out. I use a scrap piece of paper and I write: "Today I WILL..." and then list all the things I want to get done. Having it written down helps me commit to it more and the feeling of ticking it is so satisfying.
Know your WHY - Why are you doing this? Why do you want to be more productive? Why do you want to study more? Always look at the bigger picture. Where do you want to be and how will your productivity help you get there?
Celebrate your wins - whether you completed all the things on your to-do list or just one, be proud of it. Some days, you will feel super motivated and fly through all your tasks, and other days you just want to stay in bed and do nothing. Making an effort is the first step to your success.
No matter whether your goal is to complete a project, get good grades, get into the school of your dreams, or just get your work out of the way so you can focus on other things, tackle it little by little. Just 20 minutes every day for a week is better than trying to do 140 minutes worth of work on the last day.

honestly
There's some things I need to acknowledge before I carry on here, because there's some patterns I fell into that have hurt me a lot.
Right now, I'm not doing well. I've been skipping classes, handing in assignments late. I'm grappling with living on my own for the first time in a city without my family, without those complicated relationships that I used to lean on for support when things got bad.
For the first time, my life is well and truly my own. I've been given a really cushy start. An investment account large enough to be the down payment on my first home, a private education, good looks, good health. And I'm still struggling despite the silver spoon.
I find myself trying to twist myself into someone I'm not and I think it's ruined me. The desperation to fit in, to be liked, to be admired has hurt me in ways I wouldn't wish on anyone. But I worry most of us have felt it.
I want to be better suddenly became I want to be good enough. Over and over again, I want to be good enough.
Who am I anymore? And who am I doing this for? The joy and creativity that used to flow through me when I did my makeup in the morning is gone, all I can see is the texture in my skin. My hair is healthy, but it doesn't look like that silky drape you see on Pinterest. I feel ugly when I wear my glasses but my eyes are so itchy and dry from wearing contact lenses every day for months on end.
I keep thinking that accepting myself makes me complacent in how imperfect I am, but these standards are ridiculous. I can see that now that I've truly passed rock bottom.
I've done my best to keep aware of misogyny plays into the beauty standards I'm chasing. I want to remind everyone of that. To be taken seriously in society, women have to hold themselves to a higher standard than men.
We have to be more qualified, more conventionally attractive, richer, smarter than the men around us to reap a fraction of the benefits they do from our society. And as a cis white women, I cannot begin to imagine how that pressure feels those with more marginalized identities.
I want to continue, but the fact of the matter is that I can't carry on without acknowledging the cognitive dissonance I'm experiencing. Life isn't pink bows and green smoothies and staring at this dashboard I've made for myself, I've turned self improvement into an obsession. It's become escapism and it's made me sick and I feel awful that I may have been a part of this same cycle for others.
There's no way to conform to beauty standards without it being problematic, but things aren't going to change overnight. We need a way to start improving what we can in the meantime.
I'm taking some time to figure out my next step. I'm sorry if this was boring or rambling, but it's been on my mind for a while.

Study while others are sleeping.
Decide while others are delaying.
Prepare while others are daydreaming.
Begin while others are procastinating.
Work while others are wishing.
Save while others are wasting.
Listen while others are talking.
Persist while others are quitting.

you're smart enough to know the difference between resting and rotting. you'll be happier when you choose to spend your time off restoring your energy and preparing for the next busy day instead of oversleeping and mindlessly consuming content.

easy hygiene tips ♡
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
to improve physical appearance , health and hygiene are a must.
water ♡
water. please , for the love of god , drink water. get up rn and go drink some water. water does so much , want clear skin? water. want to lose weight? water. want to feel more refreshed? water. ITS SO HELPFUL!! you really don't want to be dehydrated, it has so many negative effects.
i would aim for around 2 liters (8 full glasses) a day , but you can slowly increase your water intake over the span of a few weeks if you're not ready for that. if you like me and forget to drink , set alarms or reminders for when you need to.
apple cider vinegar ♡
okay , yes, it tastes gross, but it's so good for your PH!! just drink 2 teaspoons everyday (dilute with water first) , trust me it will make your body sweat and kitty smell (and taste) soo much better!! it can also help u lose weight , decrease waist size and is so good for your skin!!
easy oral hygiene ♡
brush your teeth at least 3 times a day. i normally opt for brushing my teeth twice in a row morning and night , and once during the day (yes , even if i'm at school). also , don't forget to floss!! most importantly u wanna b scraping/brushing your tongue, along with brushing your gums and the roof of your mouth!! If you're not brushing regularly and not brushing your tongue, your breath is gonna stink.
another tip - mints > gum. no matter how minty your gum is , if you're chewing it all day it's gonna make your breath smell bad. a sugar-free mint that specialises in good breath every morning helps so much for me.
shower/bath care ♡
please wash behind your ears and your belly button. every part of your body should be clean!!! you don't want build-up.
exfoliate before and after u shave. this will leave u feeling SO smooth and helps avoid razor bumps , if you have sensitive skin (like me) it can help avoid irritation (i get SO itchy and my skin gets covered in red bumps if i don't exfoliate when shaving). personally, i don't suffer from oily skin , but if u do, exfoliating afterwards helps remove any dirt from clogged pores and any residue build-up!
use different clothes depending on what part of your body you're cleaning!! use a softer cloth for your face and kitty , and use regular clothes for the main part of your body and bum. NEVER wash your face in the shower! you want your face to have its own personal time for you to clean it so you can really focus on it. also , hot water from the shower can damage your skin and make it dry. your shower head also probably has a lot of bacteria hiding in it, so please wash your face separately after your shower.

10 things you should stop doing for self-growth
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wasting your time on one-sided relationships.
Worrying that you are asking for "too much".
Distracting yourself from complex feelings instead of processing them.
Ignoring your gut feeling.
Seeking external validation over self-assurance.
Expecting people to just know what's wrong instead of opening up.
Disregarding your boundaries and beliefs to make others like you and/or to avoid conflict.
Being scared of trying new things and failing.
Not celebrating your achievements because "others have accomplished more".
Believing your worth depends on how productive you are.
As always, please feel free to add your own suggestions and tips in the comments!! •̩̩͙❅*̩̩͙‧͙♡*̩̩͙❆ ͙͛

ten small habits to start doing ♡
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
never go to the bathroom with your phone. It's gross , wastes time , and spreads germs.
are you a forgetful person? set alarms and reminders for things you need to do (drinking water , homework , showering, etc)
be kind! always say hi to people you know and smile at strangers. don't be afraid to compliment people too!!
cant be bothered exercising? try dancing instead. this could be learning a new dance , a Kpop choreography , literally anything!
put screen-time on your phone/devices. maybe start off with 10pm - 7am being the time that you shouldn't be on any devices, and then gradually increase it. it will help you be more productive and sleep better.
if you have a sweet tooth like me but are still trying to be healthy , try starting off the day with something sweet! fruits and oats , honey and porridge , french toast , pancakes , etc.
try cooking/baking/making something new each week. i allocate a Sunday each week to looking through a recipe book , walking down to a grocery store , coming back and baking something! cooking is a very helpful skill.
double cleanse your face every morning and night. even if you don't wear makeup , it helps get rid of any excess dirt and leaves your face fresh and clean!
when using skincare (more specifically moisturiser), never rub the product into your skin in a downward motion! it can drag your face down over time. try an upward or circular motion instead.
keep your house tidy , especially your room / workspace. tidy space = tidy mind.

Getting back on track
So, the past couple months have been a disaster. I had a breakdown because of burnout. So I'm back, I'm going to be posting my progress until I'm back in the groove and can make advice posts again.

what comes after level 0? like, level 1; 2; 3; 4; 5; etc.
Level 0 is getting yourself to a base level of daily self discipline, taking care of your health and appearance, and having things to do besides scrolling all day. The bare minimum of feeling good about yourself long term and being a functioning person.
Level 1 is to figure out what’s wrong with your life and come up with a tangible and measurable plan on how to fix it. What to cut out, what to invite in, how long it’ll take to save up for xyz, what credit score you need for such and such, what habits need to be dropped immediately, etc. Figuring out how to go from who you are now to the early stages of who you want to be. Level 1 is coming to terms with who and are and what you want, doing the research, and making a game plan. It's making sure you don't keep sliding backwards. Why is this level 1 and not level 0? Bc when people are in a subpar place, taking an audit of how they’ve failed themselves leads to more despair and a feeling of hopelessness. People who have gotten themselves to a semblance of health and daily discipline will do this and feel revved up for a challenge.
If you’ve been working out every day, eating well, taking care of your looks, enjoying your hobbies and taking 30 minutes to build a skill you’ve always wanted to learn, you’re gonna be feeling great. And when it’s time to sit down and apply for new jobs it won’t feel as daunting. When it’s time to sit down and write that essay, it won’t be as hard. When you decide to start saving $200 a month, you’ll be excited about it instead of feeling deprived. Level 1 is a very short level and you shouldn't be here for long at all.
Level 2 and up will vary greatly from person to person as it's about putting your money where your mouth is and really putting in work. No more info hoarding, no more restless nights trying to figure out what you want. It's go time. It could include more schooling, working, rebranding yourself, putting yourself out there, not buying new clothes or eating out bc you're saving money hardcore, ramping it up at the gym, or whatever else you planned out. You stfu and do the work. It's uncomfortable bc you won't allow your brain to sabotage you into stopping. You're becoming a new person. Level 2 will likely last a long time since rome wasn't built in a day and whatever you're trying to accomplish will probably take a fair amount of work.
Level 3+ is simply when you are reaching milestones and you are able to assess where you are and see what lies ahead. You have to replan, reformulate, and get back to work. You have to decide if you should keep this job or accept that new offer you just got and weigh out the pros and cons of each. You have to push a bit harder to firmly cement yourself into the next area rather than remain a newbie. At this point, you're a bit of an authority figure. You know what you're doing and you've been at it for a while. This is totally your new normal. This is just your life now.

hello! I came to ask some advice. I feel pressured by glow up culture. I read blogs that talk about motivation and stuff but it just makes me feel more guilt. I feel bad for not working out and doing all of this self help stuff. I keep comparing myself and forgetting my goals. Any advice?
you don't have to feel guilty and you don't have to glow up. a lot of the advice you see on social media is quite extreme because it's based in harmful beauty standards.
you don't have to do it all, i sure as hell don't. very few people in the world have the money and the time to hold themselves to the standards they show online.
the most important thing to remember, is that self improvement is a journey. it's about building up the tools and resources to make yourself a better you.
if you're "glowing up" to seem more impressive or because you feel you have to, your results will be unsustainable and you will never be fulfilled. take things one step at a time, day by day. do what feels good and what builds on the goals you've set for yourself.
and most importantly, fight the urge to compare yourself to others in whatever way you can. comparing yourself to other people will only set you back. the point of looking at content around glowing up is to inspire you, if it's doing the opposite it's time to go outside and remember that this bubble on the internet is just that.
