i've noticed a bit of discourse over the span of me being back here about peer recognition &what that does to a person's mental on socials.

idk if it's because of my inactivity or because i've just been on tumblr for 10+ years but it really puzzles me when i see someone fretting over the amount of notes and/or social engagement their posts seem to lack. of course we as humans love peer recognition &validation but i'd hate to think that's all some people care to focus on when it comes to their blogs.

i think we all should be posting whatever we want without trying to calculate how many notes we'll receive on any one single post because that's setting yourself up for disappointment. if you're a simblr.. i'd like to assume you came here because you enjoy playing your game, creating content or using it as a creative outlet to express your form of individuality.. the notes in this case should sort of act as a bonus.

people have lost their heads.. ranting in txt posts about their content "flopping" or feeling like they don't belong here.. &it's just like.. take a deep breath.. it's okay.. you'll survive. also idk what flopping is when it comes to simblr, because.. if i get anywhere between 10-100 notes from loyal followers that have engaged with me from day 1, can recognize my OCs &are genuinely paying attention to what's going on (because they care that much).. that's a hell of a lot more rewarding to me than amassing 500-1k notes because a popular simblr randomly decided to reblog me that day.

please learn to love your game, your blogs, your cc & yourself. because what's the point of notes if you're not even genuinely happy with your game in the first place? you'll continue to have unrealistic expectations &end up in that rabbithole of forcing yourself to do tzrs, spam liking &reblogging others just to get that in return &trust me it comes off super fake &people will notice that too.

Bit of a (late) long-ass personal post, but this past year has been insanely monumental for me and a lot of it, if not almost all of it, was centered around this silly comedy show.

Starting the year adopting the most perfect cat in the world purely because he looked like Agent Jack Bauer, I've ended up meeting amazing people and making great friendships, both online and in person, I met Glenn and Charlie and MEE and Meg (and Humphrey) and Danny?? got my first tattoo, bought way too much whiskey, and I've just really, genuinely enjoyed my time posting on Tumblr, making shit, and writing fic more than I have in half a decade. It's stupid, and sappy, and probably pretty parasocial, but I owe so many of my best experiences this past year not only to the show, but to joining this community. Because I wouldn't have experienced much of any of this if I hadn't jumped the casual fan on r/IASIP ship and washed up ashore here. And being here has improved my life and my mental health in ways I can't even begin to properly express.

had a really funny idea for an ask blog ft. Vanny and another plex employee oc,,

#Get this right. 2 pizzaplex employees accidentally get tumblr famous bc someone has been leaving weird graffiti everywhere and #Getting up to other shenanigans and sends asks abt it to this one like urban exploration blog. Who later gets an ask basically like #Hey I work at the plex?? This is some insider info only another employee would know???? #The two anons are constantly back and forth in this persons inbox and are eventually assigned nicknames #‘Pix’ for the mystery vandalism employee because she shows up as nothing but weird pixels and glitches on cameras #The other employee is ‘Cam’ because they have been monitoring all this on the cameras #One day they get each others blogs and keep sending each other death threats and shit jokingly but one day pix warns cam not to go to a #Weird late staff meeting #The next night it is literally just the two of them and they think this is so funny they start a blog trying to uncover why everyone else #Just isn’t coming in. At first they are like well layoffs duhhhh #But then ppl send asks and messages like ‘hey have u seen this employee it’s my brother/friend/etc’ and they realize shit is actually going #On in here #One night cam is live-blogging their shift and sees a weird intruder in a costume with a knife and runs around eventually escaping and find #Pix lying at the bottom of a stairwell unconscious with a bloody nose later #Takes pix to the hospital. Only to be alone in the plex the next night and suddenly get a phone call saying that pix left the hospital. Bc #Pix left cam as the emergency contact because ‘she didn’t have anyone else’. #Cam has to survive the masked intruder #eventually starts recording everything but when the intruder gets closer the footage gets glitchier #Eventually there’s just one fuzzy image of the intruder with Roxy and Monty standing on either side and that’s the last we hear of cam. Nex #Post is pix saying hehe thanks for following our little story aha !! Bye now it’s over!! Just and FYI to everyone in the fandom since the topic was brought up: Creepypasta doesn’t really have a solid “canon”. I see this around a lot and just wanted to mentioned that everything in the Creep fandom is just ideas welded together with the foundation of not very well written scary stories. Some of people people can like, or not like, and decide to implement what and change other things. I’ve seen some debate about what’s true canon. (Mostly with Ben being a child, Jeff always wearing a white hoodie, or even Slender eating children vs consuming souls.) But the reality is (coming from someone who’s been in the creep fandom since 2013), there is no true canon. Go crazy. Make Jeff trans, make EJ a cat-boy, give Offender a better name since his brothers deserve a fourth, make Zalgo a big softie instead of the usual hardass!

(Also, my dear anon, this isn’t directed toward you. The word canon reminded me of this topic, and I’ve been wanting to mention it to my blog. Although I usually see it on tiktok, I sometimes come across it on Tumblr as well.)

The AU:

So Walter stumbles across a Siren, at first she tries to put him under her spell to use him for her own gain. And it works, at first.

But due to him being a sort of fire-troll-changeling creature it dosen't work for long. He soon breaks from her spell as she tries to look deeper into his mind and he accidently burns her. (He can’t always control his powers)

She swims away, obviously scared. He tries to grab her, wanting to apologize but she is too fast.

After that he comes to that place every day to bring her flowers and she eventually comes to him again. They talk things out, apologize and start to fall in love. (But it's forbidden romance trope ;])

Sooo fun facts to this AU:

• Walter accidently burns things when he is veeeerrrrryyy emotional. He has a lot of power wich makes it hard to keep it cool. (You know...cool...because he has fire powers and-) He burns the flower because he is a bit flustered-

• Barb is some sort of Siren or Nymph. She needs to to spell people/creatures to get a certain "magic" from their soul. It's a need to survive. Ofc her kind often does it out of fun but she only does it for survival. It's basically a need, like food. After explaining it to Walter, he agrees to let her use it on him if she needs it. (Don't ask me how and why. Just accept it-)

• Basically their kinds aren’t allowed to talk to each other. They certainly don’t care but will get in much trouble because of it. And Jim exists. Yayyyy. He isn’t dead-

• The Trollhunter also exists in this world. Jim will be the Trollhunter and get the abilitie to walk on the earth due to ✨️magic✨️. Walter is still part of the "bad guys". They have a kind of magic war between the elements and humans. And yeah. UHM just accept it as It is. My brain is completely broken-

Maybe I'm going out on a limb here but I think the real reason why Brendan said a Tedbecca endgame was never considered enthusiastically was because it stood in the way of Ted going home. Period.

They wanted to tell this father/son story so much, they couldn't risk it with a tragic lovestory. Maybe they were never that appalled of Ted and Rebecca getting together (or maybe they were) but in the end they just wanted Ted to be Mary Poppins.

Well guess what: Mary Poppins doesn't have panic attacks, mental health problems and self loving issues about being "too much"!

I'm just so mad that during these three years they never thought "maybe we should go another way", "maybe the story developed differently than we thought", "maybe there is more chemistry between our leads than expected - let's explore that a little more".

And even if you want to choose to ignore all of that for the sake of a plot you thought about 10 years ago, then it should at least be executed so that the audience is completely on board. You can't just silence Ted in the last episode and call it "him being at peace". We never got the chance to see him struggle with that decision which makes everything in 3x12 so odd.
