Hiiii! I hope you've been having a good day (or had a good day depending when you see this) so I would love to learn a little more about your current muses. which one are your favorites and can you tell me a little about them? Do you have any muses that are fandom or are they all oc? xoxo ss
so sorry this is answered so late, getting out of bed this week has been a battle. but unto my ocs, almost all of my muses except for one are fandomless! i don’t tend to like writing in fandom that much for some reason, although i think i’d like to get into that somewhat with some of my favorite shows. and as for my current muses, i currently have no self control so i have 77 muses at the moment. you can view all of them in the source link at my indie blog!
picking favorites is so hard so this is gonna be so long i am sorry. my current faves would probably have to be astrid harlowe, kamala srinivasan, aurelia de la rosa, nasrin kazi, bash guerra, josie franklin, nevaeh porter, jason palmer, charlotte gregison, and andrea matthews. under the cut i’ll put small little blurbs about each of them but you can also click the links in the source link to view their full stats and bio! trigger warnings for drunk driving, car accidents, suicide, death, depression, bullying. if missed any, please let me know.
astrid harlowe / alisha boe fc — she was born astrid noor but was abandoned by her mother and then put into foster care. she was eventually adopted by a famous and wealthy family which seemed like a dream come true until she learned the truth, they adopted her to rehabilitate their image and make sure this story got out before the negative ones. she grew up shy and polite because she didn’t want to step out of line and make the family look bad. she got pregnant at 16 and her parents sent her to a “troubled teens” program which traumatized her. when she came back, her adoptive parents were dismissive about her experience so she grabbed a flash drive and copied all of their secrets into it and is now just sitting around waiting for revenge.
kamala srinivasan / simone ashley fc — a nepo baby who was only ever praised for her looks so she never really tried to venture outside of that, despite having things of value to say. while she was a teenager, she became a sitcom actress on a disney channel show and the media kind of painted her as the “bimbo” character. she leaned into it because what else was she gonna do. soon after, she launched a singing career but was constantly met with pushback whenever she put her own input in and was forced to continue to put out vapid music she didn’t connect with.
aurelia de la rose / alexa demie fc — another nepo baby, kind of. her parents were both super wealthy and famous and had a nasty divorce. for whatever reason, the media and the paparazzi thought it was appropriate to delve into aurelia’s life and her parents didn’t really mind. they often put her in the middle of their fights and one day, she decided she had had enough. so she started acting out in front of the cameras, becoming the wild party girl. but in reality, she was sad. because the only reason her parents ever paid attention to her was when she was in the headlines for the wrong reasons. she uses this persona to fill a void but it’s all temporary.
nazrin kazi / mishti rahman fc — nasrin grew up in a very small town in minnesota with a speech impediment called rhotacism, which meant that she couldn’t pronounce some words with the letter r. she was severely bullied for this and this led her to become somewhat of a chronically online person, turning to tumblr and twitter to talk about her interests instead. this led her to become hugely involved in music and specifically, one direction. when in college, she double majored in speech pathology and music marketing, but ultimately went into speech therapy, in part because of how much her speech therapist helped her. she loves baking, fashion, karaoke, one direction, hiking, doing puzzles, and scrapbooking.
bash guerra / froy gutierrez fc — literally the sunshine love of my life. he grew up the oldest of six other siblings and was often the one to help raise them while his parents were working. while some people might resent this upbringing, bash loved it and this is where his nurturing nature was honed. when he was in high school, he got involved in the theatre club and subsequently got involved in community theatre, in order to make a little extra money,.during one of these performances, he was scouted by an agent and he moved to los angeles, albeit a little reluctantly away from his family, at the age of 18. unfortunately, while he was out in los angeles, one of his younger brothers took his own life and bash couldn’t help but feel it was his fault for leaving. this led him to having a savior complex of sorts, trying to save everyone else because he couldn’t save his brother.
josie franklin / halle bailey fc — josie is perfect. at least, that’s what she wants you to think. she was brought up by a pastor and a homemaker, and it was always drilled into her head that image was everything. and the expectations they put on her made her feel like she could never truly live up to them. but boy, did she try. instead of rebelling, josie tried to be perfect. josie always tried to be the perfect daughter, the perfect student, the perfect friend, the perfect sister, the perfect everything. but she was never praised by her parents for doing well, they only told her how to be better which prompted her to think that nothing she ever did was truly enough. but instead of wallowing in that she took it as a motivation to do better, to get closer to perfection. but as she grew older, cracks started to show. it was gradual at first. biting her nails when she was nervous but then she started biting her nails all of the time. while she was applying for colleges, she ended up deferring all of her acceptances and hiding it from her parents. when they found out, they kicked her out of the house and since then, she’s been on a journey to figure out who she is without her parents’ expectations.
nevaeh porter / salem mitchell fc — nevaeh was the kind of kid that talked a lot. maybe too much, depending on who you asked. she talked about a mile a minute and would talk about anything and everything. she was emotionally vulnerable and open to people. but as she grew older, what some people might see as a gift, ended up hurting her the most. she wore her heart on her sleeve just for it to get ripped off. she got bullied but in very subtle ways. telling her the boy she had a crush on liked her just for her to ask him out and have him reject her in front of everyone because how could anyone like her. this led her to becoming shy and turning to other things instead of people. namely, painting and plants. because when she was painting, she could be as messy as she wanted without anyone telling her that she was too much and she could talk to plants and trees for hours without them telling her she was talking too much.
jason palmer / jordan fisher fc — jason was born to parents who didn’t think he was going to happen for them. he also had an adopted brother who was around his same age, so they referred to one another as twins. he ended up living in the shadow of his twin, who was funnier and smarter and got more attention from his parents. and they were both involved in theatre, but while his twin got the lead, jason was stuck playing background characters or trees. he got comfortable in the shadows, the darkness. even though he was delegated to the shadows, they became his home in some twisted way/ jason is the king of biting his tongue and just putting his head down and doing the work.
charlotte gregison / dove cameron fc — charlotte gregison was born on a commune in san francisco by two hippie parents. the commune was all about community, free love, freedom of expression, acts of service, and liberation. a common thing she heard was that love was at the core of everything. her parents raised her somewhat isolated from traditional media, only allowing her to watch things that they approved of. this meant no disney fairytales or anything of the sort. it was mostly just bob ross and sesame street. she was homeschooled up until the age of eight when she went to public school for the first time. it was definitely a bit of a culture shock for her. at nine she was invited to her first sleepover where she saw her first disney move and fell in love with the fairytale. soon after, she also fell in love with a different kind of fairytale, the romcom. charlotte is the kind of girl who wears rose colored glasses and is in love with love.
andrea matthews / katie stevens fc — andrea and michelle matthews were born two minutes apart from one another. michelle was born first and never let andrea forget it. they were born to two parents who passed their love of soccer down to the two and the twins were naturally gifted. the twins played soccer together, just like they did everything else together. in high school, they were co-captains of the varsity soccer team despite being only being sophomores. during the summer of their sophomore year, a drunk driver came out of nowhere and sent the car spinning out of control until it hit a tree that pierced through the window of the car and into michelle’s heart. losing michelle made andrea feel like she was losing a piece of herself, like half of herself was gone. andrea tried to put on a good front because no one wanted to see the sad girl, they wanted to see the phoenix rising from the ashes. her team told her to take her time and come back when she was ready, but that unfortunately never happened. after high school, andrea turned to music instead of soccer to deal with her feelings of loss around michelle.

Alice had successfully avoided Nevaeh for a year. It wasn’t that hard-they didn’t have any of the same classes, did none of the same extracurriculars, and if Alice knew Nevaeh was going to be somewhere with less than twenty five people, she probably wouldn’t go. And in the slim chance they were forced to be around each other, Alice would simply pretend she didn’t know her. No one knew otherwise. No one except Daisey.
It wasn’t out of spite. It was out of embarrassment. Maybe even because of a broken heart. Regardless, Alice didn’t want to see her. That was a wall she wanted kept up. But after everything that had happened, her defenses were down. She spent so much time looking around, trying to make sure there was nothing lurking in the shadows that she stopped paying attention to what was right in front of her.
Turning a corner, she came face to face with Nevaeh. Alice couldn’t remember the last time she’d seen her from this close. Close enough to count her freckles. Alice frowned. She didn’t need another thing that would make her feel horrible about herself. She definitely didn’t need anything that would make her feel more vulnerable. “Um... sorry, I wasn’t looking where I was going,” she sighed.

Oz’s grandmother lived too far away for her to ever visit and his parents did a poor job (only partly due to their busy schedules) to plan visits to Baltimore where she and the family on Oz’s father’s side resides. A victim of dementia, the last time Oz spoke coherently to her was at his father’s funeral. He is her only grandchid.

Oz and his father did not get along. From a young age Oz learned to hate him. The feeling was most probably mutual. We’ll leave that there for now.

He... wants that connection (which is saying something) though he doesn’t understand why or the logistics of how yet. As with Nevaeh, Oz would never forgive himself if any harm comes her way. Delilah is the angry teen sister Oz never really asked for but got anyway and he loves her. They had a lukewarm start. And Delilah probably still couldn’t care less about Oz from time to time but he enjoys her company. He finds her explosiveness endearing. She is the only person who he allows to break his “got a problem with Daisey, got a problem with me” rule. She gave him a black eye once when he had to get in between a fight between her and then girlfriend Daisey. He has since forgiven Delilah for it.

He’s not Oz’s real dad and he never will be!!! But they tolerate eachother. He and Oz’s mother are in love and that’s... fine. Kind of weird but fine. They don’t really know what to do with each other and most of their conversations are uncomfrotable. As far as an older male presence goes, Oz doesn’t mind him. Sometimes they’ll talk about baseball.

Oz really doesn’t interact with Abigail that much other than at Sunday dinners when his mother insists all of the children come to have a meal together. They just can’t relate on many things. If anything, Oz finds her prayers over the food more than a touch too long, but has no issues with her. He’s happy she makes Delilah happy, making love for his younger step-sister their common denominator.

the call with the local area code caught zar off-guard; he had to transfer all his leashes to one hand in order to pick up his phone. “hello?” good evening, mister ros, this is ashmont general hospital. he stops in his tracks, and winces as nugget fucking chokes himself on his collar from going too fast. “what’s- is something wrong?”
miss nevaeh porter has just been checked in and her emergency contacts aren’t answering. zar’s jaw dropped for a moment, processing, before he was on his way back to the apartment. “holy shit, is she okay?” she’ll be fine, she just wants someone there.
zar’s heart panged for her, and he knew he couldn’t leave her alone like that. he made a mental note to get her some flowers on the way there. “i’ll be there as soon as i can.”

it had been at zar’s suggestion that nevaeh was here, at this club in the first place, with the promise that he’d be by her side at all times. it was all another step in his mission to get the wallflower (no pun intended) out of her shell. of course, the second he left to go to the bathroom, some fucking creep was already on her, with poor nevaeh doing her best impression of a deer in the headlights. he noticed that his arm had slithered its way around her waist, and he instantly saw red.
“hey,” he barked. the creep whirled around looking caught in the act, and zar had to shove his hands into his pockets to resist the urge to sock this guy right in the face. clearly he knew what he was doing was wrong “can’t you see she’s uncomfortable, dickhead? get your fucking hands off of her.” without a word, he retracted his arm, putting both palms in the air, before all but high-tailing it into the crowd.
zar sent one last glare his way, before turning his attention to nevaeh. “shit, are you okay? he didn’t do anything, right? do you wanna go home?”

her parents are divorced but the split was amicable & they remained best friends so nevaeh never really minded tbh ?
her parents still acted like a cohesive unit tbh, like when nevaeh’s mother got a job in baltimore, they moved & so did her father so they could stay together
nevaeh really loves her family
when she was a kid, she was the type who had boundless energy & she talked about a mile a minute about everything & anything
she definitely wore her heart on her sleeve ( & still does a little tbh )
a lot of people would think that her being open would be a strength but it turned out to be a vulnerability for her because it resulted in a lot of bullying at school
there was never any taking her lunch money or getting swirlies but her peers would take advantage of her open nature
like, one time they told her to ask out a guy because he said he liked her & when she went to ask him, he laughed in her face & rejected her
her classmates treatment of her made her go into isolation & depression because she became more subdued after learning that they were taking advantage of her
she’s an art student right now, art is one of the only things that allows her to express her emotions where she feels she won’t be ridiculed for having them
she tends to wear her heart on her sleeve just for it to be ripped off her shirt

BETTER OFF by ARIANA GRANDE -- someone who nevaeh was seeing at some point, or is currently seeing, who doesn't really feel the romantic connection between them although nevaeh does. they believe that they're better off without nevaeh & were really concerned with how deep nevaeh's feelings went.

murder story: Lacey
she had a baby with Porter Sr, he dazzled her with his money and got her used to being "taken care of" before he turned into a psychopath and control her every movement. She wasn't allowed to do anything, but he could do anything. She was around nine months pregnant when he was murdered, which is still unsolved.
Lacey is a single mom to Nevaeh and she is about to turn one in a couple of months. Lacey get birth a few weeks after Porter Sr. was killed.
Lacey fell victim to his love bombing and mistaken it for the real thing. She is in love with someone in her friends group, but nobody knows that Porter Sr is the father of her daughter so she stays home alone a lot in fear of the truth being told, eventually making herself look suspecious.
the alibi: She was in her room about to take a bath when she felt her braxton hicks contractions and tried calling her doctor but dropped her phone in the tub while she "soothed the pain."

FACECLAIM: katelyn nacon is a nineteen year old singer/actress/dancer(?) [she’s posted dance videos before and seems trained don’t quote me]. she’s from georgia, usa and her ethnicity is white. she’s known for her roles on amc’s the walking dead, hulu/awesomenesstv’s t@gged, and will soon appear on the hulu drama light as a feather.
gretchen has great relationships with both of her parents and she loves both of them. however, she’s always been drawn more to rory due to their similarities in personality. she is tenderhearted, kind, and protective very similarly to how her dad is. her relationship with her mother is almost on a best friend level, as her love for retail therapy was most definitely instilled by sugar, as well as the way she frequents sugar for advice. however, she is much less outspoken than her mother and is often a deep feeling, silent type.
the only place where she is truly more outspoken and forward is with individuals that she has a romantic interest in. she’s always been rather flirty and forward there. this behavior, paired with the fact that she’s often a “taker” and feels as if she deserves some of the negative attention that she has gotten, often makes her the subject of bullying. this can range from people making comments about her appearance to what became of her relationship with her siblings as well as her relationship with sawyer. she rarely attempts to stand up for herself and will either internalize it, or just go talk to sawyer or her parents about it as what happened with sawyer has caused her to lose friends.
she is the oldest child of the flanagan family. she is very close to her younger sister cole. they have been inseparable and have been best friends since the day cole was born. when gretchen got held back in first grade, gretchen was sad until she realized that it meant that she would be in the same grade with cole. from that point forward, she’s enjoyed being in the same grade as cole and being even more inseparable.
gretchen has only had one prior relationship to the one she is in currently. that relationship was with dillion porter and lasted for about a year. dillion was her first everything and she did love him, but ultimately they decided to just be friends and are still friends.
she has been dating juliet lopez-pierce since august and is absolutely in love with her. she has plans on proposing in the immediate future, but no one knows...especially considering she used her mother’s banking information to get access to the funds that her grandfather left her to pay for the over $3,000 ring...that she wasn’t supposed to have any access to until she turns 21.
