*Trigger warning*
Meet Mira! She is a 7 months old Palestinian girl in gaza. Mira was saved thankfully after her house got bombed by Israel using usa bombs. This is who israel is targeting. Carpet bombing every place in gaza and ultimately killing hundreds of people in less than a day. Reminder that a Palestinian child is killed every 10 minutes by israeli missiles.
Do anything you can to put a stop to this. How can you see a literal baby with their face bruised like that and not flinch?

"Winter Coat"
People like Mira don't have an upper limit for hair growth. Pretty impractical most of the time, except when you're traveling in the cold, provided you don't mind the mess.
Last painting of 2023. This was intended to be a quick winter piece, but I couldn't help myself and it ended up becoming a lot more. It's also been a while since I painted snow, so that was a nice change of pace from my usual.

Chorda Katabasis?
Okay so! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back I had a funny inside joke relating to one of my fics where Dedf1sh was implied to be the commander of the octo girls group.
However as of Side Order, I scrapped that since the Dedf1sh in my head and au was DEF not gonna be like the canon one.
So! I created Chorda! Or, Chord. She is the character replacement of that role in the octo girls's lives.
She was once a very skilled and stern leader. Middle aged- and also stood as the medic of the group. Despite being quite emotionally disconnected from the group, Chorda was able to lead them into following her orders one way or another- like how a parent negotiates with her different kids on why they should do what she says yknow?
To Ingrid, she provided her lots of things to do and treated her like a second in command- which boosted Ingrid's obedience since she wanted to be seen as a good and reliable soldier.
To Mira, she didn't humor any of her attempts at slyness and never gave her any reaction if she frustrated her- which made Mira bored of trying to make her annoyed and would begrudgingly follow orders.
To Sasha, she gave a decent amount of attention. Sasha wants praise and for someone to appreciate her- so Chorda also gave her lots of things to do so she could be rewarded with attention and "You did a good job."
To Cynthia, she recognized her natural affinity for agility and would push her towards doing things to use her more effectively.
She used all of them very efficiently as a leader, using their flaws and strengths the best she could as a squad- but she never really addressed their issues or insecurities or tried to fix the hurt in them. She just, used what she had and stayed as unpersonal as possible.
It made leaving them in the dead of the night a bit easier for her during the Inkantation- when she was struck with the memory of who she truly failed. Someone very far away... and who Chorda wanted to reunite with at all costs...
...Only to fall, alone, into the Deep Sea Metro.
Katabasis; a journey to the underworld.

Can I just say? So fucking happy that the gang got Mira to switch sides right away. They brought her into this mess and then left her there with the princesses -- not their fault I know -- but then to have Pinocchio’s first priority in battle be to magic himself over to the girl he and his friends saved from his island (whose dad gotten fuckin eaten in front of her by his story) and talk to her about their snowball fight??? Like she was all alone! Her story is so tragic and she was all alone, just being tossed from group to group, always in danger, no control, and then the Boy of Destiny was like ‘no, you are our friend, and we will help you have choices from this point on, even if that choice is to remove yourself from the danger and not help us, that’s fine’.
Also love that that was followed by Pinocchio shoving Gerard/The Frog, and going “Ok! See? That wasn’t so hard! Now go do that with your wife!!!”
ALSO! YLFA’S FIRST MOVE REGARDING MIRA BEING TO FINALLY BE HER MOUNT, MOVE HER AROUND THE BATTLE BOTH BECAUSE YLFA CAN RUN FARTHER AND SO MIRA DOESN’T HAVE TO BE IN PAIN IS SO SO GOOD! YLFA ALWAYS WANTING TO CARRY HER FRIENDS AROUND, BUT ESPECIALLY FROM THE MOMENT THEY MET WANTING TO CARRY MIRA AROUND MAKES MY CHRONIC PAIN HAVING ASS SO EMOTIONAL, UGH!

Might clean this up properly at a later point but I'd been sitting on a shiny braixen design for ages that I hadn't actually properly cleaned and coloured so I figured I would go ahead and settle that :3 (This was totally not a spur of the moment decision that came out of nowhere last night)
Quick summary I can go into more when I have a proper ref done but
Character's name is Mira (She/They), potion merchant and adventurer, routinely goes out on expeditions to recover materials to use in her brewing and subsqeunt sales.
She has a funny little cannon that has three firing modes that spread the potions she pours into it in different ways. One is a typical flamethrower spread, one is a more concentrated laser and the other involves lobbing liquid globs of the potions at targets.

I would have killed the galaxy to preserve you. I would have let the galaxy die. You are more rare than you know, and what you have taught yourself must not be allowed to die.
And it is for that that I love you.
