it's time for more 🥁🥁🥁🥁 me being pissed that the 911 writers killed off Shannon!

it was cheap storytelling (I've said it before and I'll say it again)

they already had a way to write her out if they really wanted to! if they were willing to put just a little more effort into her exit story, she would'nt have had to die

misogyny is behind this, I just know it. clearly Shannon was only written to provide drama for Eddie (which the writers also could barely be bothered with)

which is so weird because Shannon had so much potential as a character! I loved her passion! I think she deserved a redemption arc of relearning how to be a mother to Christopher. and Shannon and Eddie deserved a storyline in which they work out their feelings for one another and learn to forgive each other and in that way learn to forgive themselves. wouldn't that have been great? it would've been good for them to learn how to live with each other through a divorce instead of a strained marriage; I think that would've made for excellent character development. so since they didnt, honestly I think it really stunted Eddie's character. a divorce storyline could've given him a chance to learn and grow as a person and really flesh out his character, but instead he became closed-off, even to the audience. what did we learn about Eddie through the street fighting storyline? that he's angry. well duh. but he could've been given so much more emotional depth if we'd seen him work things through with Shannon. and Shannon could've been a great character. she could've added a lot more drama if she had stayed alive, but they totally blew it by killing her off in such a cheap way. to be honest I might even say I wouldn't be mad if they did a "omg Shannon wasn't actually dead" reveal if not for the fact that we the audience definitely saw that she was Dead. but then again I wouldn't trust them to bring her back because they might just have her drop a bomb and immediately kill her off again, because they were oh so eager to do it the first time
