I think the thing about the line is that Shinae is lying to herself - or, I guess it's not so much lying because she isn't very consciously aware of her feelings but! Nol is very conscious of his own so when Shinae states "We're all friends" what she's saying is "there is nothing besides friendship here". It's not that you can either love OR friendship. It's that she's incorrect, that it's not just friendship.

He isn't coming right out to say "No, there is more than just friendship" because he's leaving that up to her. But he also isn't going to let her get away thinking that it is nothing, that there is nothing besides friendship.

Whether or not he intends to act on feelings doesn't even matter in this moment, because the issue is that: Dieter is hurt and it's because of what he saw between them that Shinae isn't seeing.

But also YES lmao she just. She can't see it right now because she keeps looking at it only as friends, because what else could there possibly be? lmao the idea of having feelings, of romance existing between them, is currently SO FAR from her mind despite the fact that she's been fighting him tooth and claw to stop pushing her away lmao.
