So, today’s music rec has a funny story.

I read in the bio of one of my favorite actors that he likes the brand “Aland”. I misread “brand” for “band”, so I looked them up on Spotify and this artist and song came up. I thought lol why not listening into it.

And thus I discovered one of the best songs I’ve ever heard.

Campbelltown will cement itself as a go-to destination with a vibrant new public space thanks to ALAND’s village inspired vision.

Sydney’s South West will be home to a dynamic community building, public open space, playground, and curated gardens under a development application (DA) submitted to Campbelltown City Council by leading developer ALAND.

The exciting addition to Campbelltown’s urban fabric is part of ALAND’s $400 million transformation of the abandoned Brands on Sale outlet at 22-32 Queen Street. Previously an underused landholding, the site will be reimagined as a mixed-use development with residential apartments, an ‘Eat Street’ and several retail and commercial spaces – and now over 4000sqm of publicly accessible space including a community building.

Following the submission of a DA earlier this year for the 2.05ha redevelopment of the Queen Street site, ALAND has returned to Council to present the carefully considered plans for a shared environment promising an inviting precinct for the greater community.

“Campbelltown is a fantastic suburb and this new chapter will bring with it an exciting neighbourhood space for not only the new residents of our upcoming development, but for generations to enjoy in years to come. Until now the site has been a wasted opportunity in a great location and we’re proud to be able to repurpose the space for the wider community,” – ALAND’s Head of Development Ryan Lane

The open green space will include multiple play areas for children of all ages including interactive water, sand and nature play, climbing equipment, a native meadow and level lawns. There will also be a bicycle loop path and community amphitheatre seating with a stage area.

“Such an exceptional address deserves a superior meeting place for the community, and that’s what we’re striving to create. To get the fit just right ALAND Developments has been in ongoing consultation with Council and the community to ensure this plan will deliver the best outcome for all,”
