I love those wss tumblr Rp's so in tribute of that I'm sharing my headcanons for the wss characters

Riff: despite Riff being a part of the jets and being in a gang and shit, he knows how to treat women. Like when he's with a girl (or guy, lookin at you Tony) he will go all out to surprise her and treat her like the absolute queen she (or king, looking at you tony) is. He also is the kind of person who is scared to love at first because of all he's lost, but once he falls in love he falls down like 85 flights of stairs metaphorically for them. I also think he like just really likes donuts. No explanation for that. He just gives me a donut-lover kind of vibe.

Tony: Tony is a hopeless romantic. He lies awake at night wondering what it's like to fall in love until he does. He has all these little fantasies planned out, he dreams about his wedding, etc. He sees an old couple walking together on the street and pictures them as him and his future spouse.

Graziella: Graziella is the kind of person who's nice until she's not. She'll be the sweetest girl ever one minute, offering you a drink, giving up her seat on the train for an old lady, but the minute you mess with her loved ones, she'll fuck you up. She will literslly not hold back like your ass will be cooked and locked in a basement or some shit (you best know she knows how to hide a dead body) and then she'll help the authorities look for your body. She is also the kind of person who has a major rbf but is actually nice when you meet them.

Baby John: baby John may seem more innocent and like a kid on the outside, but in the reality he's just as valuable to the gang as anyone else. He can fit in small spaces, he's sneaky, etc. So the jets use him to pull pranks on the Sharks and shit. He also likes to steal small thinks like candy bars off those street stands.

Balkan: alright so yall know how when Gee Officer Krupke starts and Balkan is like "I want no part in this," but eventually gives in? He's an ambivert. He'll go out with his friends if they invite him, but his ideal Friday night might vary between partying hard with strangers or just sitting alone but not lonely at home maybe with a newspaper to read. Also hwar me out Balkan has an astigmatism but is insecure about wearing the glasses, but at night when he can barely see because of the street lights, he'll take out the old pair he got from Valentina.

I have a headcanon that all of the Jets’ names nicknames are related to their personality. For example, Ice was added to the 1961 film and he sings “Cool,” so he’s probably Ice because he’s the coolest, chillest, calmest one. And Action is probably Action because he’s described as tightly wound ready to fight at all times.

But at the same time Baby John’s real name is just John, but they added “Baby” because they didn’t feel like getting any more creative than that.

Me and one of my best friends watched West Side Story and I've already seen if but she hasn't so here's how it went.

Me: so who's your favorite character?

Ever since he first joined the jets, Baby John was both scared and thrilled by the idea of a rumble. He knew he was easy to pick on because he was little. But the idea of a rumble was so enthralling to him. The rumble with the Sharks gave him the same feeling. Those boys could easy hurt him, they had before. But this was his chance to finally prove himself to the Jets. To show that he was a good fighter and an important member to the group.

The boys all got ready for the fight together. After they said goodbye to their girls anyway. Baby John listened to the others talk, trying to pick up any tips he could. He tried to look tough but anyone could tell he was shaking from nerves.

Riff, being the leader of the Jets, was used to analyzing the behavior of his boys. He was good at telling when someone was scared, any emotions they felt really. That’s why his eyes landed on Baby John, who was slightly trembling.

He approached his younger friend, sitting down next to him. “You’re shakin’ more than a leaf, kiddo. Ya nervous?” He asked, Baby John nodded. “Well, nerves are good. They get ya excited. And, it shows ya care.” He shrugged.

“What if they nail my other ear?“ Baby John asked. It seemed like he was joking, but he wasn’t.

Riff laughed. “They ain’t gonna. Not with all of us there anyway. Plus, it’s a no weapons fight. Ya will be alright.”

“If it’s no weapons, why do ya got a gun?”

The older teen’s expression darkened. “We ain’t gonna use it if we don’t got ta. It’s…a safety thing. If things get ugly, we can defend ourselves. That’s all.” Baby John nodded, although his nerves barely calmed. Riff noticed this of course. “Come on, tell me what’s really bothering ya.”

Baby John sighed. “What if I mess up somehow? And I disappoint ya guys? I still ain’t proved myself.”

Riff rose an eyebrow as he talked. “I’ll tell ya something, buddy boy. We all mess up in our own ways. Every time. Don’t be too hard on yourself. You couldn’t disappoint us. Plus, ya have already proved yourself. You’re a Jet, ya have been for awhile.” He chuckled.

“Yeah? Ya mean it?” Baby John asked hopefully, his shaking stopping a bit.

“I mean it. Everything’s gonna be alright. We’ll beat the Sharks then go home to our girls and celebrate our victory. It’s what we’ve always done. We always come out on top, kiddo.”

Baby John is produced by Atlee and his wife Priya Atlee’s banner A For Apple Studios along with Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios and Jyoti Deshpande for Jio Studios.

Filmmaker Atlee had a dream debut in Bollywood last year with the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan. The film became a runaway blockbuster and went on to earn more than Rs. 600 crores; the first Hindi film to do so. Hence, the filmmaker’s next project is keenly awaited. While it is not known what Atlee will direct next, his next as a producer is already announced. The film, which has been referred to as VD 18, will be an action thriller starring Varun Dhawan in the lead and will be directed by Kalees. Recently, Bollywood Hungama broke the news about the film’s title being Baby John. Now, the makers have confirmed officially that that indeed is the title of the film.

Apart from Varun, Baby John also stars Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi and Jackie Shroff.
