Rafe jolts when you wake up with a choked off scream that quickly turns to a sob, he moves from his place in a chair in the corner of the room to the side of your bed in seconds, already reaching to rub your back.

“Shh, shh, no, it's alright. you're fine, shh.” He soothes and pulls you up into his lap when you reach out for him.

“It’s okay baby, you’re alright.” It’s so gentle coming out of his mouth you’d swear it wasn’t Rafe if it wasn’t for the moonlight coming in through the window lighting up his distraught expression scrunched on his face.

It’s been months of this. Of waking up in nightmares that leave you shaking and grasping for Rafe to be at your side, of Rafe doing absolutely everything he can to comfort you, of you trying to adjust to living in Tannyhill with Rafe rather than back on the Cut near Jj’s house where you grew up. You and Jj don’t talk anymore, none of the pogues give you so much as a sparing glance, they’re all too aware of what side you chose when you didn’t flee off that cargo ship with them- you stayed with Rafe.

“I- I was back there-.” Rafe tightens his arms around you with a low shh that you listen to easily, leaning into his touch and letting him start to rock the both of you in place.

“You’re not there, you’re here with me. We’re safe and back in obx, we never have to be there again.” It’s not the fear that was steadily coursing through your veins on that boat that bothers you, really it isn’t, it’s the look of absolute betrayal that spread over all your old friends’ faces.

It’s something you can’t shake and while you know you made the right decision- you, Rafe, and Barry melted the cross down, you’re all rich, Ward isn’t around to bother you, you’re living a better lifestyle than you’ve ever dreamed- it’s still stomach churning to think about the pogues. You don’t even know where they are right now or what they’ve been up to, once they found out you helped melt the cross that was it, you had hope that maybe they’d see where you were coming from but that crossed the line. A line you truly didn’t think existed.

You grew up on the Cut with them, hell you had problems with Kiara when John B introduced her because she had a house on Figure Eight, you never thought you’d end up on this side of island for anything more than a job or a party, you thought you’d be with them no matter what, that nothing that happened would break the bond between you and the other pogues and now-. If you think about this too much you’ll get a headache.

“Shh, go back to sleep. you need it." The feeling of Rafe’s chin hooking atop your head brings you back to where you are.

“I’m sorry.” After that day on the boat where you had clung to Rafe the second you two were alone, crying and scared, slipped so far into your headspace you couldn’t think about that fact that you were hugging around Rafe Cameron- it feels like all you’ve done is apologize to him. The guilt of absolutely everything you do eats at you, no matter what choice you make it ends up hurting someone, you end up being the problem.

“You don’t need to apologize, you didn’t do anything wrong.” Rafe replies with zero hesitation as he always done. He’s never questioned your loyalty to him or said you need to get over what happened with the pogues, in some weird way you think understands it, he doesn’t have anyone but you and Barry left. And even then- Barry betrayed him once, you can still feel the tension between them at times because of it.

“You’re always taking care of me and I’m still a mess.” It took all of two seconds for Rafe to jump into caregiver mode on that boat when he realized that you were regressed, you don’t think he’s ever gotten out of it. Months later and nothing has changed, he’s taken on the role as your caregiver without a single question or judgement made, as if he already knows everything he needs to know to watch you.

“Shush baby, it’s not your fault those pogues put you through so much.”

Logically you know Rafe’s version of events are skewed and probably will be no matter what you say- but it still hurts a little to think he blames them in full. It was your own fault, you went along with every plan they came up with from that first day John B said you guys should go out looking for the royal merchant after that storm, and even if you eventually felt out of your depth and like things were getting too hectic and you wanted to tell them to stop- to go back to how you all were before- it’s still on you.

“They’re never going to forgive me.” You whisper and truly don’t mean to, that was supposed to stay in your head.

“They’ve put you through hell, you aren’t the one that needs to be forgiven, you made the right decision. The smart one.” You nod at Rafe’s serious but soft tone and curl farther into his chest.

“Yeah, I’m glad I have you.” Everything else aside- you’d do anything to keep Rafe around, he’s there for you in a way none of the pogues ever have been and you can’t ignore that.

“You’ll always have me baby.” He presses a kiss to the side of your forehead and lays you both back against the bed, shifting slightly so you can lay over his chest and he can pull a blanket over both of you.

“Try and sleep, I’ll be here when you wake up.” You hum to Rafe, letting your eyes slip shut in contentment. He will be here when you wake up, you know that, you’d never doubt that, and it makes some of that guilt slip off your shoulders.

emiya alter killed taiga who got into kiaras cult ( this was revealed in a fate seraph manga

It was a popular theory that EMIYA Alter was the Shirou from Mind of Steel Ending. The combination of the events from then, his life ‘hero-ing’, and finally the events with Kiara really broke him entirely

One of his bond lines says something like "I was already on that road (to become like the EMIYA we all know), but then I met (Kiara) and things became like this", so it makes sense that he would have started from a point where he had already decided to become a counter guardian, it also makes sense that he would call his other self "my past self", then.

Got this from the some spoiler discussion

Taiga's son got an incurable disease. Taiga, who didn't believe in religion at first, had no choice but to join the sect of Sesshōin, which has excellent medical resources and claims to be able to cure diseases, for his son's sake, but this is just the appearance of the sect.

At that time, Emiya knew the shady scene of the sect, and the name of the cure was actually doing inhumane things. In order to prevent the world from being corrupted by such a sect, Emiya chose to destroy it.

On the way of trying to save her son, Taiga was also gradually influenced by the sect. Although she failed to save her son, in the end, she became a member of the resistance against Emiya and pointed her gun at him.

This chapter really shows how truly evil Kiara is, no matter the reality, always a corrupting force that twists and destroys anyone who even contacts her, taking them at their emotional lowest, using them and then throwing out like next week throw trash. Truly one of most evil characters in fiction in my opinion.

7 days ago Sessyoin is a LOT of things. I think what she is most of all is sad. She was put up on a pedestal at a young age & hailed as a bodhisattva, an enlightened being here to bring others to enlightenment, but she's a sad, lonely, little girl on the inside.

CCC heavily implies that she got a servant with the Child trait because she desired to be seen as a person for once instead of an immaculate Savior or simply an object of sexual desire. But despite all of this, she DOES believe that she's helping people.

She believes that giving yourself over to pleasures of the flesh is enlightening… & she's not entirely wrong because she IS a Bodhisattva, by definition, a person with the ability to reach nirvana but delays doing so out of compassion for others to lead them to the enlightenment that they themselves reached.

Sessyoin has a LOT more nuance than people give her credit for & boil her down to being just a horny nun

He endured for an eternity, unable to let go of his ideals because he had nothing left. He hated his younger self so much because when Shirou defied him, he knew that Shirou would never break because he himself didn't.

Innocent People she had twisted so thoroughly they were willing to do anything for her

I knew it I goddamn fucking knew it. Kiara took probably one of the most, if not the most, sacred people in Shirou's life away from him. Mind you in the UBW route during the Caster/Taiga hostage scenario Shirou was actually going to kill Rin if she did anything that could jeopardize Taiga, the word "kill" is blanked out because Shirou didn't want to acknowledge that was going through his mind. That's how much he loved her.

"Best Girl Since 2004" Taiga is Shirou's constant that keeps him from breaking. Don't forget how he didn't even think twice about killing Shinji in the Fate route in the school.

As we see in Chaldea, he has constant memory loss, no sense of taste, he can't even access his own reality marble properly because he's locked outside of his own self for eternity.

Ideals are a powerful aspect in the Nasuverse. While Emiya may have ‘won’ in the tactical sense (eliminate his objective), it’s clear he lost in a battle of ideals.

It wasn't uncommon for the castle Dracula, sitting at the head of the village Belmont, to have a rather late night ~

Summary: Nobody's sleeping. Alucard and Trevor are up because of their night terrors. Sypha and Kiara are there to comfort their boys and pick up the pieces. Hurt/Comfort and utter sappy sweetness.

Kiara felt the cool stone beneath her bare feet as she walked up and down the moonlit hall of the castle. A low, melodic hum filled the night air. A lullaby without words, for the boy crying in her embrace. She pressed Alucard tightly to her chest, who, in turn, had laced his arms around the back of her neck. She rocked him lightly as they paced. Like a mother aiming to soothe her fussy child. In a way, this wasn't far from the reality of things.

Kiara could swear she felt Alucard's still frantic heartbeat against her. They all knew he suffered from night terrors, every one of them dealt with the same thing. Kiara considered it a blessing, to be able to support one another through them. She pressed a kiss to the blonde's collar bone. His audible sobs had eased, reduced to sporadic shaking. "You're alright, dove. I've got you, I've got you." Kiara paused, swaying the both of them slowly from side to side. "You're safe. Everyone's here. We're all here." She soothed.

Kiara startled when she heard the new wave of tears start up. One door down from where she stood with Alucard, who was so surprised he seemed to forget about his own upset and turned towards the sound himself. Kiara opened the door, faced with a room illuminated by soft candle light. "Sypha..?" She asked quietly, seeking the gaze of the redhead who sat beside the large bed. Shypha turned to the pair. "Oh, hello", she greeted, cracking a sympathetic smile once she registered the boy in her friend's arms. "You too, then?" She asked. Kiara returned the gesture with a nod and a smile of her own, Alucard already having tucked his face back into her shoulder. Trevor had stopped crying, now just looking embarrassed rather than upset. He pulled his blanket up to cover his face, attempting to hide from the whole situation. Sypha joined Kiara at the door. She had to get on her tip-toes to whisper in the taller woman's ear. "We had a little accident. Best not to mention it." Kiara grimaced as Sypha pulled away. Something between second-hand embarrassment and sympathy. The two looked at each other in silent solidarity for a moment, before Kiara spoke up. "I don't think I'm getting this little one back to bed", she punctuated her point by giving Alucard a slight bounce, "we could just call it a night and set up at the fireplace." Sypha nodded thoughtfully. "Yes, Trevor will need to stay warm after getting cleaned up anyway." She responded. Kiara smiled, already thinking about how she could set up the furniture around the fire.

It didn't take long for Sypha to change the sheets. She stared at the dirty pile of fabric on the ground for a heartbeat, her tired brain weighing if it would be worth waiting until the morning to wash them. A soft whine from the bed behind her pulled her back to the present. The sheets could be washed tomorrow, her little one was the priority for now. Trevor swiped at his eyes tiredly, they were red-rimmed and slightly puffy from tears. He sat at the edge of the bed with his knees pulled to his chest, shame and anxiety gnawing at his stomach. He still felt dirty. Despite clean bed-clothes and water. The images from his nightmare freshly in his memory, he felt jumpy at the slightest movement in the shadows. Part of him knew he was being irrational. He was too old to be wetting the bed. He would have been beaten for this as a child. He was too old to be scared of his dreams. He was too old to need comfort. He was…

"Trevor?" His eyes flicked up to meet Sypha's. Her concerned expression softening into a slight smile. "Hi love." She cooed, pushing a strand of hair out of his eyes. "Are you ready to go see Kia and Alucard downstairs, hm?"

It was certainly a sight to behold. The guardian of humanity, the anti-dracula, curled in on himself with his head resting on Kiara's chest. Like a pup seeking comfort in his mother. The gentle glow of the fire painted the edges of their forms in soft orange light, sending shadows dancing across the velvet sofa they'd set up camp on. Kiara captured Sypha's gaze with drooping lids, a small smile spreading across her face once again. "Hello, you two." She whispered, not moving a muscle apart from a hand, gently carding her fingers through Alucard's golden locks. Sypha returned her smile. She turned to look at the man next to her, having to correct her first instinct to tilt her head down. He was, in fact, still much taller than her. Trevor had watched the exchange anxiously, still shaken from his dream and the result of it. He chewed at the tip of his thumb, gaze downcast. The crackle of the fireplace helped to ease his mind, maybe even more so than Sypha's hand in his. He moved towards the fire. Or, more precisely, he made for the thick sheepskin rug directly in front of it. Sypha made a quiet sound of surprise as she was yanked to the floor along with her boy, who already had his hands pressed into the soft fur texture.

"What if it happens again..?" Trevor whispered, fidgeting with the hem of his shirt. Sypha had insisted the two of them move a little farther from the heat of the fire. They now sat huddled on the ground next to Kiara and Alucard up on the sofa, Trevor's head resting on the smaller woman's lap.

"Then we'll just clean up again. I know it's scary, bug, but you need your rest. Don't you want to see if it won't happen again? I would say there's a biiiiiig chance you'll be completely fine now." Sypha replied, gently massaging the sides of Trevor's head. He let out a disgruntled whine, turning to hide his face in the woman's skirt.

"Mgmnmm ffggjj hhhhmm." Trevor's complaint muffled by the fabric, Sypha bit back a chuckle.

"Or we could be stubborn, yes." She cooed with a smile.

The chuckle came from above instead, Kiara having overheard their little conversation. Alucard, fast asleep, did not rouse. "You know no one will mind either way, don't you? Besides, we're all here now and any scary dreams or moving shadows won't stand a chance." Kiara reassured, eliciting another mumbled protest from the floor. She and Sypha laughed quietly, the latter pressing a kiss to Trevor's head.

"Whether you sleep or not, we'll all stay here tonight."

They remained in relative silence for a while, the quiet only broken by the peaceful sounds of the fire, rustling of clothing, or a soft snore from somewhere. Trevor fought his own heavy eyelids, still too anxious to sleep, even with Sypha's ministrations on his skull. Despite her exhaustion, Kiara sang in a whisper, into the warm night air. Her mother's lullaby she remembered from years ago, when she herself was small.

"Guten Abend, gute Nacht.

Her voice filled the room, deep and dark. Syrupy like sweet molasses. The rumble in her chest only sending the little blonde into a deeper sleep. Trevor couldn't help but yawn, even more so when Sypha joined in with her own song. He was hopelessly losing his battle against sleep.

The two women shared their silent adoration for one-another. They were not mothers yet. Not in the traditional sense. But the innate instinct to soothe their treasures to sleep in song seemed to transcend the biological bonds of time and age. And as the last gentle words left Sypha's lips, so did any fight left in Trevor's exhausted body. He dipped into sleep and remained there, pulling a contented sigh from the two women's chests. Finally, Kiara and Sypha let themselves fall into the same healing sleep as their boys had. Basking in the physical warmth of the fire, along with the one in their souls.

Thank God Movie Review

THANK GOD is the story of a man who has a life-changing experience. Ayaan Kapoor (Sidharth Malhotra) was a successful person in the field of real estate. After the demonetization episode of 2016, he suffered a huge loss. In the present day, he’s on the verge of selling his bungalow. He resides with his wife Ruhi Kapoor (Rakul Preet Singh), an inspector, and daughter Pihu (Kiara Khanna). Ayaan is temperamental and gets angry at them for the flimsiest of reasons. He’s also stressed as he’s unable to find a buyer for his house. One day, he is driving speedily when a biker comes in front of him unexpectedly. Ayaan looks back to abuse him. This is when he clashes with another car and meets with a terrible accident. When Ayaan regains consciousness, he finds himself in the company of Yamdoot (Mahesh Balraj) and CG (Ajay Devgn). CG informs him that physically, he’s right now in the hospital. He also tells him that he can survive, provided he plays the ‘Game of Life’ and comes out with flying colours. The rules of the game are simple: two narrow cylinders are placed on either side of Ayaan. He will be given certain tasks. If he fails in the task, the audience watching the game will throw black balls into one cylinder and if he succeeds, they’ll shower the other cylinder with white balls. If the cylinder with black balls overflows, he’ll be thrown into hell. If the other cylinder with white balls overflows, he’ll survive. What happens next forms the rest of the film.

I'm somewhat hesitant to start Chainsaw Man how similar it is to CCC in its sexual themes and their presentation?

not very. the long answer is: while denji being an orphaned hormonal teenager with absolutely no idea what normal life and human interactions are matters to understand how easily manipulated he can be by promises of intimacy and affection, it's not anywhere near the levels of CCC horny. discussions of human sexuality are an aspect of chainsaw man that is discussed but they are not the focus of the story like they are in CCC.

we do see denji in a handful of suggestive situations from his perspective, but we are quickly made to understand that just because he feels desired and validated, that isn't necessarily the case. because he's a teenager who simply doesn't know better and has never ever experienced genuine human connections, affection and intimacy are often used as tools to manipulate him and lead him away from self-determination. how that influences his way of thinking and the actions he takes with regards to choosing between freedom and security is the true, significant core conflict of chainsaw man. CCC is the story with a dedicated discussion about the exploitation and manipulation of female sexuality by a repressive society (borrowing themes from utena but making them a hell of a lot more explicit and voyeuristic) and how to liberate it via empathy, love, and understanding.

if i were to tell people about chainsaw man, i'd be more concerned with letting them know it's a manga that can be emotionally devastating at times due to dealing with themes of experiencing sudden and painful catastrophe, and i'd just make a small disclaimer that there is some softcore nudity seldom as it is.

the short and crude answer is: you are not going to see dedicated cgs of naked girls barely covered by flower petals while the main character exposes their fetishes to help them overcome their insecurities and their literal programming and you're not going to see kiara tripping over hakuno and letting them cop a feel (or several).

i would encourage you to try to overcome your trepidation and avoid making comparisons to fate in general even though i am known to make comparisons to fate all the time because i just happen to have that much enthusiasm for it and it's my vague way of drawing thematic connections between the media i consume. not everything is going to be, or try to be, like fate and that's okay.

if i'm being honest, i don't quite think anything could even remotely be like CCC lol.

The event or the game? Either way, both are overrated and overhyped. Cutting in:

I just feel this is less of a story and just Nasu writing about his fetishes mostly with terrible terrible attempts of humor (because sex and tidies are comedy gold!). There are some good aspects on it, namely the angle of Hakuno/White Sakura becoming real people (so only the true ending fits this, and isn’t enough to balance those eye-roll-worthy “Let’s marry your waifu in a virtual fantasy world” ending with Tamamo and Nero which got chosen for Extella), I like BB, more Robin, the Servants flashbacks/Secret garden sections, the farewell of the Servants scene (only Emiya and Gil here), Kiara/Andersen relationship, and, in the game, the focus of other Masters and Gawain (when it wasn’t about panties and another horny otaku fetish that was trying to be passed as deep and meaningful).

The event is one of the worst designed events of FGO. After doing it three times (main, alt, and one time the rerun) and realllllllllly not looking forward do it a fourth time in NA. It’s the absolutely joyless farming mechanism of the worst worst type. A good event as a comparison, in FGO, was the Apocrypha event which was a breeze of great drops and raids. If you ask me about the plot, I suppose it’ll depend on if you like the characters involved in it, otherwise it’s a man’s poor CCC but with FGO references and none of the CCC good points (but thankfully those creepy and gross punishment cgs are gone). I don’t care about Melt like at all and, without Andersen to layer her, Kiara is just a mere walking stereotype. There are only 3 things I liked: finding out about Seraphics (and the shady Animusphere stuff, which was faaaaaaaaar more interesting than any of the virtual world exploits by far!), Zepar, and therapist Kiara, and uh, well the CEs maybe?

Spoilers too for the CCC event.

And I won’t forgive Nasu for the stupid second part. The bait and switch with BB was the worst because that’s what I wanted the most from CCC and this felt like trolling. “Oh no, you thought you saved BB? You just saved the copy of BB who isn’t the original! You kill the original!” I mean I like BB anyway, but yeah. It made me bitter.
