DPXDC Prompt #142 Part 2
His parents had spent years working on their portal, to the point where they were neglecting their own children. Danny didn’t know any better, neither did Jazz. To them it was just how their family ran and for the most part it worked for them. It allowed Danny to really study space and the Stars. His room was covered with different ship models on the shelves, glow in the dark stars on the ceiling and posters on the walls.
Jazz had similarly explored her own thoughts and topics as she studied Psychology. Her room was more feminine but still had a certain scientific decorum to it.
He never thought that he’d suddenly be ripped from all the things he loved. But here he was with the trench coat man, instead of taking some biology class or something.
“What happened with the portal?” Danny asked.
The man took a long sigh, “listen… quite a lot of shit went down after your accident.”
“That tells me nothing,” Danny glared at the man.
“I get your upset kid, but let me at least know your name. Mine's John Constantine,”
“…Danny,” Danny muttered after a moment. He wasn’t sure he trusted the man but he guessed he had no choice. He was also noticing he felt a bit off, it was the weirdest gut feeling and Danny was having trouble telling exactly what the feeling was. It was like the feeling was telling him to trust John, although at the same time John had this weird feeling about him that had Danny feeling weary. He decided to trust John just a little, hopefully it got him back home, after a moment Danny spoke again, “…Can you at least tell me if the portal worked?”
The room was silent for a moment and then John spoke “Alright, fine, I’ll tell you what happened but some background first, do you know who the ancients are?”
The name didn’t sound familiar, “Ancients? Like Ancient Aliens or something?”
“No, no…” John took a swig from a flask in his pocket and then started fiddled with an unlit cigarette he pulled from a different pocket. He then looked Danny up and down, “You don’t know the first thing about the infinite realms do you?”
“The what?” None of this was making any sense and the more Danny talked to this guy the more he was getting a feeling of dread in the pit of his stomach. Something about this conversation felt wrong, like Danny should know all of this already but he just didn’t.
“Right well… I guess the easiest way to explain this is the portal your parents made was to the infinite realms.” John said, putting the cigarette in his mouth.
“My parents called it the Ghost Zone.” Danny muttered.
John seemed to chuckle at that, “I mean it is mainly inhabited by ghosts, however they aren’t the only ones, far from it in fact. I’m sorry but… I couldn’t allow your parents unlimited access to the realms. I had to disable it and prevent it from being reactivated.”
Danny felt a little disheartened after hearing that, he guessed John was probably right though. He remembered hearing his parents talk about how they’d dissect every ghost they found to study them. The bully’s at his school often bullied Danny over it especially after his dad and mom would continually embarrass him on parent teacher nights and on field trips.
Danny let out a small sigh, “so when can I go home?”
John looked a little surprised, his eyebrow quirked up, “so you're unaware of your situation right now?”
“Situation?” Danny trailed off, he remembered getting shocked and then he remembered waking up here, “where are we?”
John let out another sigh, “shit, well from my research you're supposed to know everything about your powers when you wake up.”
This made no sense to Danny, powers? Danny didn’t have powers, he didn't have the meta-gene.
“Powers? I don’t have the meta-gene. I think you have the wrong person.” Danny stated as he folded his arms in front of himself.
“Then how are you floating?” John asked with a smirk.
Danny looked down and he indeed was floating just an inch off the bed, he wondered when that started but the feeling threw him off a little as he stumbled a little trying to keep himself upright. It didn’t work and he fell back down on the bed with a little thud. He turned to see John watching him with a small hint of amusement in his eyes.
“What am I?” Danny asked, his voice small and a little panicked.
“You, Danny Fenton, are an Ancient. I know the term makes it seem like you're old but the term is more because your people are ancient in age.” The explanation made no sense to Danny but he could somehow float now. He thought the term ‘Ancient’ was a little much for some floating powers.

somehow this blog has become populated with a dozen characters whose relationships to their siblings roughly boils down to "that's not just my family, that is my limb, and to remove them from me would be unthinkable."
and then there's manny and the demon constantine, with a hacksaw and a dream.
#OOC.#it's hilarious i didn't think i'd put so many characters on here with such INTENSE familial hang-ups#cheryl & john constantine speak for themselves: she's literally haunting him bc he can't let her go#beatrice & hero are cousins technically but bea has gotten benedick to try & kill his bestie on hero's behalf before & she Would do it agai#nat would rip someone's spine out with her teeth if her little sister asked her to. jack vincennes probably Has already.#hell the kuntilliokans are Literally designed to be two halves of a whole being. they're so lost on their own#jalla is reacting by going batshit and deciding to rip the world open to reach anima again#and anima has gone the Slightly saner route and hopped down to earth to hunt jalla down and kill them both#thus removing them from this stunted reality and back to their own plane of existence. whole and together again. but also Stabbed#and when jalla argues with her about leaving the world when they can just bring the world to them it hurts both their feelings REAL bad#so that's. ya know. a bit more literal on the limb side of things#and then on the complete other side of the coin there's fuckin demon constantine. they're not Technically siblings but again: halves#except john's gone and made himself whole again and constantwo is absolutely STEAMED about it he wants to murder#and then there's manny who thinks that severing the limb that is emmanuel is the purest show of devotion possible#but he Keeps. Hesitating. and hates that about himself. cain and abel type beat but cain actually thinks about it for a minute#ANYWAY as an older sibling myself i am giggling. save me tragic fictional families#they're all fine and normal and well-adjusted people i assure you. come closer they won't bite. no soap operas raging here nooo#sched.

You Are Sick and You're Married and You Might Be Dying.
I feel like it's too early on for angst, but I can't help myself. Phoebe Bridgers + Joanna Constantine. yeah thought so. this is so OOC i couldn't help myself.
Aerico: a disease demon from Greek Folklore.
TW: Sickness/Illness, Ovarian Cancer, emetophobia (sick/vomit), demons? Sandman as deserves his own warning.
Part Two
Joanna Constantine worked. It was what she did best. When she put in the time and effort she got money. And that worked for her, especially if she could find a way to increase her fair.
Sure, her job wasn't exactly conventional. Being an actual exorcist wasn't exactly a normal career choice, but it turns out there's more demand for it than expected. Who knew? But things got really complicated when you introduced love into the mix. Demons + Joanna + Love = nothing good. Or so she thought.
But then Y/N L/N walked into her life, completely different from anything she had ever known, soft and kind. And for once Joanna Constantine found herself falling head over heels.
She looked forward to going home everyday, to falling into the arms of her lovely, beautiful girlfriend. She looked forward to cooking for her, sitting and watching shit TV with her, bathing with her, washing her hair and back, reading her to sleep and just...well...her. Joanna Constantine looked forward to Y/N as a whole.
She was her everything. She was sure she would be careful when doing her job, guard her mind well and make sure no entity could figure out that for once she had a weak spot.
But all it took was one off night, a few weeks before The Sandman's return.
Joanna had been called in to work late under an emergency.
"Babe, I'm so sorry, just- It's an emergency and-" Joanna was rushing out the door, coat being thrown over her shoulders.
"I know, don't worry." Y/N genuinely assured her, tying her coat up for her and giving her a kiss on the cheek, "Be safe."
"I will. And I'll make it up to you when I get home, I promise." Joanna's hands came up on either side of Y/N's head, pulling her in for a kiss before she was gone with a quick "I love you".
The job was easy. Actually getting the demon out of the host was light work, they tend to reveal themselves pretty quickly, as if the burning smell of sulphur wasn't already a dead giveaway.
She continued to speak, The Bible in her hand for show as if she didn't have it down to a fine art by now. And while the demon writhed and screamed and offered her immortality and riches for letting him live she ignored it. She identified it as an Aerico, a demon of the Greek, and if it wasn't for her then everyone around him would've ended up diseased and infected.
Just before she was finished with the demon, it whispered something, "You...Joanna Constantine, will pay...best keep an eye on that Y/N of yours." It giggled and then it was gone, leaving behind the smell of rotten flesh and sulphur.
Joanna winced at the scent before panic hit her. Had her mind slipped? It must've while she was chanting and now...now?
Joanna met her employer outside. The money was transferred fast in a little brown envelope and then she was gone, rushing home to make sure that her girlfriend was okay.
***
Joanna fumbled with her key in the lock, panic setting into her bones as her mind raced about what could've happened to Y/N. The moment the door opened she slammed it behind her before rushing inside and calling her lover's name.
"I'm in here!" Y/N called out from their bedroom.
She walked in to find her girlfriend spread across the bed, a glass of water by her side and a packet of pills on the bedside table, "Are you okay?" She asked.
"Yeah, I guess I'm fine. I just suddenly felt really tired and I had this pain in my stomach. It's probably just early period cramps, I'll sleep it off. Come join me." She folded the covers back and Joanna kicked off her shoes, took off her coat shirt and trousers and got into bed.
"What's with the concern?" Y/N asked, beginning to play with her hair.
"Just work..." Joanna answered, turning to face her girl, "Something happened. It made me anxious. Seriously, sweetheart, if something happens or you feel wrong you have to tell me."
"Alright, I will."
***
The next morning Joanna insisted that Y/N go to the doctor's, just for a general check-up.
And then, two weeks later, Y/N's diagnosis came through.
The couple were sitting in the Doctor's office, hand in hand in the chairs as the Doctor said she had some bad news, and that she was sorry. Y/N had Ovarian Cancer.
Instantly, Joanna felt overwhelmed with guilt and the first words to fall from her mouth were "Shit...Y/N, I-"
"Thank You, Doctor." Y/N said, standing from her chair, taking Joanna with her as they were still holding her hands, and simply, walked out.
There will be a part two I didn't want to put this all in one thing.

“I don’t know what you see in him.”, is probably a line that many people say to Zatanna about her dating Constantine. Give us the lowdown on why they actually work well together.
This ask confuses me a little bit because Zatanna and John haven't been together in years, and has rather been an on and off dynamic DC has been pulling There's actually no explanation on how they started dating, but there's numerous references to them having a relationship on their earlier days. (One day I'll get into the mess that is the timeline because no writer has ever decided in what period that relationship took place)
But I mostly see that the chemistry relies on how different and yet how similar they are. Both are often afraid to let people into their lives due to what comes with getting involed with everything that has to do with magic. They are both seen to have numerous partners (though with Zee is less specific, since writers have rarely tried to develop her love interests), but there's always the underlying feeling that magic shenanigans will come to ruin things around them, reason for what they often feel of themselves as unworthy so many times
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They are both also selfless they are to a degree. When it comes to Zee, this feature shows on how she's pressuring herself to do the right thing, to be a valuable member of the superhero community and to keep up to level left by the Zatara name. As a leader, she puts her hands on the fire for everyone else in order to save everyone. She feels like she needs to carry the world on her shoulders.
Now, I know "selfless" is a weird word to use with Constantine with the general public. Truth is that Constantine has saved the world numerous times. He doesn't have the obligation to do so, he just gets involved "because someone has to do it". Sure, I don't disagree that he hasn't got selfish moments, but it's something to think about how someone who has last lost so much keeps trying to save the world. His current cynicism seems to be a result for past hope.
While JLD vol. 1 (New52) made...choices on how to protray their dynamic (ex: to put them at each others' throats for some reason when they were in good terms in Post Crisis, hiring Peter Milligan's, the person who character assasinated Constantine in the last Hellblazer run, to write his initial characterisation on that book, etc, etc), I feel that anything from Rebirth and forward has tried to fix their interactions in a way.
It shows that John rathers leave leadership to Zatanna, he recognises her capacity as a magician and Zatanna relies on John in decisions' she isn't able to do. I feel like that's a great compliment between each other.
I would love to see them dating on page, because as for now they've been in a constant "will they, won't they?" For years. I do not think of them of them as a endgame couple though, due to the reasons stated in earlier paragraphs. None of them seem as the type to settle down and I can see them staying at friends after that.
Note: I absolutely despise the conception of some JohnZee shippers have (and even JohnZee antis) of John somehow needing to be fixed by Zatanna (which is ooc, misogynistic and ableist in many degrees). I'm leaving this heads up because a lot of people really misunderstand the reasoning behind the ship.
I hope I could explain it well enough, I don't often write meta on relationships so excuse me if I get a bit carried away.

ꕥ — WELCOME TO EXO COSMIA, AUGUST. 🌑
Tumblr media
 ꕥ  — OOC INFORMATION;
name / alias: echo age: 26 pronouns: she/they ooc contact: @ech0inhere (twt) other characters in xc: Richard Grayson, Astarion, John Constantine, Scott Summers
 ꕥ  — IC INFORMATION;
name: August age: 30 pronouns: he/him series: Original Series canon point: N/A app triggers: violence, death, murder, depersonalization, existential dread, dystopian themes, experimentation
personality:
THE GOOD: August’s unique “circumstances” have pretty much eliminated any kind of cowardice he might’ve had. He takes on any situation and challenge completely undaunted, forever unfazed by the risk. As much as he hates to admit it, despite his newfound nihilism, August is still, deep, deep down, a bit of the idealist he started out as. He can be compassionate and even protective, and when push comes to shove, he’ll probably end up doing the right thing. Even if he has to complain about it first.
THE BAD:  A few minutes spent talking to August and it’s no wonder it seems like everything is out to kill him. He’s abrasive, cynical, and peppers his speech with bitter sarcasm. August is rarely, if ever, in a good mood and sits through most conversations as if he’s trying to get them to finish faster. He has very little regard for his own life and will almost always brute force a situation or approach it in a way that feels the most exciting to him.
THE UGLY: Nihilism and existential dread is the name of the game. The hundreds of deaths and revivals August has gone through have begun to permanently affect how he sees himself and the world. He doesn’t always see himself as “real” or his existence having any real meaning or impact in the world around him, and has even begun to treat other people the same.
something your muse struggles with: Constantly on the brink of an existential crisis. Can be extremely apathetic about his own life and the lives of others he doesn’t particularly care about.
your muse’s greatest strength: Dying so much in so many different situations has made August incredibly adaptable.
history / background:
August would like everyone to believe he’s always been a badass bounty hunter. Orphaned at birth, maybe or taken in by a mysterious mentor. Perhaps raised to fight by a faction of assassins or band of thieves. That his real name is in fact “August.” Any cliché tragedy you can think of that isn’t the truth. Because the truth, he feels, is the real tragedy.
The youngest of two born to two (very much alive) parents in Nework (formerly New York) from the moment he was born, August was dealt… a hand. Not a bad one. Not a good one. Just a mediocre hand. His childhood was mediocre, his adolescence also mediocre and when the time came for the local government to choose the occupation they felt he was best fit for… It was mediocre too. Simply: Delivery Driver.
Worse still, capitalism and corruption ran rampant in Nework and August found he accumulated a mountain of debt just for existing. He realized that if he didn’t want be a delivery boy for the rest of his life or his parents to work themselves to an early grave he would need to get desperate. Who could blame him for picking up an energy pistol and never looking back?
Fortunately, capitalism breeds opportunity. The tech industry was always looking for some poor schmuck to test a prototype cybernetic implant or stick a needle in. As far as poor schmucks went, August prided himself on being an exception. However, when he was approached by a conglomerate called Prometheus, a company that offered to pay for both his and his parents’ debt in exchange for running a few tests and “monitoring his vitals” for a few days while he pursued his new career… Well. There was no way he could refuse.
There wasn’t much to monitor. He was killed after accepting his first bounty, a day after leaving Prometheus’ Nework lab. Of course he was. He’d never fired a gun before, never fought off a man twice his size. At that moment, as he closed his eyes for the last time, August anticipated going down in history as the “World’s Worst Bounty Hunter.” He didn’t expect to come back. And to keep coming back. Each death brought him back to the beginning of the day. Some were harder than others. Often, he found himself reliving the same day dozens of times before he finally cracked it. Threats seemed to spawn like wildfire, always respawning when he did. As if nothing had ever happened.
At first, it felt like a game. How long could he last, before dying? How fast could he kill everyone in the room? Trial and error made him a better fighter. More efficient. One day he decided to kill no one. The next day he decided to kill everyone until someone killed him first. Sometimes the same encounter could take close to an hour. Eventually, he could whittle it down to five minutes. But even games end.
Dying, August had come to realize, is more than just painful and traumatizing. It’s boring.
Now, August is a man possessed. Desperate to break the cycle of mundanity by any means necessary, August finds himself scouring a dystopian continent in search of Prometheus, the company he’s confident played a part in his condition. He clears out whole labs and facilities, desperate for answers. And until then… All he can do is keep going.
powers / abilities:
AGGRAVATION: Like a 24/7 tank stance. For some uncanny reason, no matter the situation, things just seem to want to kill August the most. In combat, August has a passive aggravating effect that draws both the attention of his opponents and the trajectory of projectiles.
inherent abilities:
PEAK HUMAN CONDITION: August keeps himself in peak physical condition. (He’s a jock, basically.)
COMBAT TRAINING: August has amassed a significant amount of combat skills. (He’s had plenty of practice)  He’s an expert marksman, hand-to-hand combatant, and has taught himself how to handle most explosives. Trial and error have made him a deadly efficient killer, and it’s generally ill-advised to meet him in close combat.
items / weapons:
BODY ARMOR: A durable suit of titanium-like material. It comes with a matching helmet that conceals his identity and provides a digital HUD that keeps track of his ammo count.
ENERGY PISTOL: Shoots bursts of pure concussive force; can be piercing; directly connected to his armor.
ENERGY SHOTGUN: See above.
COMBAT KNIFE
ENERGY SNIPER RIFLE: See above the above.
starting ability: Aggravation
starting item: Energy Pistol
extra:
His life is essentially on Nightmare Difficulty
August’s home universe is a cyberpunk/sci-fi dystopia built on the ruins of North America.
Every time he dies a strand of his hair turns gray; naturally he goes through a significant amount of hair dye.
New OC so things might change! dwai!
discord id: infinite#0822
passcode: seriously beyond blessed to have and to process the world's very first jayce league of legends type character. as you could have predicted i am in love

honestly if you love your car, don’t let john constantine sit in it, because he’s gonna put his feet up on shit and smoke in the backseat with the windows up and probably get blood on something at some point and change your radio station to really really irritating polka music ( or obnoxiously loud punk rock, which he will inevitably try to sing/yell along to ) and bump your seat every ten minutes with his ridiculously pointy knees and probably ask you if you’ve ever seen a dead body just to be a creep.

☒ Is there any sort of behavior towards your muse (ic or ooc) that you simply cannot stand?
Honestly? I think it’s a lot of the usual shit. Like, I don’t mind an adversarial interaction but also damn, let’s not turn it into a pissing contest either. RP, for me anyway, idek about everyone else, is collaborative writing. I don’t like when it feels like competitive writing and, in the case of ooc, plotting. Not to brag or anything, but I’m a generous shipping and writing partner, but just the same, I know when it’s getting a little one sided. And ahhhh, I’m not vague posting or anything, I swear, just speaking from like....jesus, nearly a decade of RPing on this site. ANYWAY, as a more...hmmm...nit picky and probably not very fair (even though I am very openly okay with pre-established relationships and people having heard of John), it lowkey annoys me when muses are like “Constantine who?” unless they have a very good reason for it. Maybe it’s because I’m too deep in John and it’s natural for me, but seriously. It’s totally okay to do.

Avalance Specifically
Here’s my thoughts about Avalance specifically if you’re not interested in my general thoughts recap.
A lot of this ended up being an Ava character study. Sorry.
Spoilers. Obviously. And this is really long.
So I was right. This episode did make me sad. At least in regards to Avalance itself.
Disclaimer: These are my thoughts and feelings and analysis. You might disagree with my characterization of Ava and the situation. That’s fine. And if you want to chat, please inbox me, but this is how I personally interpret it and how I see it.
I generally tend to try to give each side a fair shot of this. Usually, with all of this, there’s merit to both sides of the argument. I’ve been feeling this a lot in regards to S4 Supercorp, Lena vs Kara. I didn’t expect to have to do it for Ava vs Sara, but I suppose this was inevitable.
I think we knew from early on that the Legends and the Bureau were going to be at odds at some point. Yes, they had a better working relationship in the beginning of S4 than most of S3. However, when their paths started to deviate from about 4x03 and forward, it was clear they were going to be on a collision and that Ava and Sara would be at odds eventually over this. I said early on that Ava was probably going to have a really tough time with this given her backstory.
And I think I ended up, ultimately, being correct. Though I did think Ava would come around, I just didn’t think there would be a breakup involved.
I think one thing that felt wrong was Ava’s callousness at the end. Where she seemed rather uncaring about the Bureau basically abusing magical creatures. But I also think there’s a couple of possible explanations for it.
As I said in my general post, I think Ava is under some immense stress. If we assume she’s telling the truth and she was about to go into a meeting with Hank (versus having had it and him telling her to break up with Sara or lose her job, I’ve seen that theory floating around), she believes she is likely to get fired. We know she’s worked really hard for this position. And that her job means everything to her. For her to get fired, especially over something she perceives as Sara’s fault, I think she’d be very prone to saying things that she didn’t necessarily mean if she was in a better state of mind. I think it was a very human thing of her to do. It doesn’t mean I agree with it, certainly. But I do think it’s a possible explanation.
We also know that Ava is very uncomfortable with magic and magical creatures. It goes against what she knows. Yeah, we’re dealing with time travel, and superpowers and all that shit. But Ava really had some issues with the totems last season as well (think back to her first interactions with Constantine and the magical element to all of it as well) and I think all of the magical activity could have pushed her too far over. She clearly wants to go back to her comfort zone of the norm. And she’ll compromise some of her own morals and ethics to do it. I don’t think that’s an unreasonable thought process, though I personally believe she’s in the wrong on this one.
This even echos a little bit of what they’re doing over on Supergirl. Aliens vs humans. Kara vs Lockwood. Ava seems far more concerned with “human history” over magical creatures. She calls them monsters frequently. I’m not trying to say Ava is Lockwood. That would just be rude. I’m just saying that Ava saying that if Hank has to experiment on creatures to find a better way to fight them being okay is along the lines of humans vs creatures. I think this is something that she will likely grow from in the back half of the season and will likely be her arc of character development, but this is where they’re starting her.
Another could be her need to cling on to her position because she feels like it makes her human, versus being a clone. We know she’s still very much affected by that part of herself and if she was about to lose one of the few things that made her feel human, I could understand why she’d lash out. We know she blames Sara for her being in this uncomfortable position. And I don’t think that’s an unfair thought. Sara was blatantly working against her for the entire episode. And look, we as an audience know that Sara is right. There is something up with the Bureau and she was in the right with protecting the Kaupe. But see it from Ava’s point of view. And consider her background.
She is very much a follow the rules, by the book, the government is doing the right thing, sort of person. She always has been. She believes in the mission of the Bureau. Even if it’s questionable at times. I believe this is one of her greatest flaws, to be honest. But that’s a different thing. She does not believe in the conspiracy we know to be right. All she sees is her girlfriend going against her at every turn, especially after that girlfriend promised she would take care of the problem. And she sees herself likely, at that moment, to get fired for those actions from a job that means the world to her. I don’t think it’s OOC for her to act this way. Sad, yes. But out of character, I don’t personally think so.
That being said, I also don’t want to be too harsh on her. As many have said, she’s in a tough position. She has some good points. The Bureau, in general, has done some good things. And under proper leadership could be even better. And Hank gives her department funding. I don’t know if this is something Ava considers, but if they were to defund the Bureau, there would be a lot of people out of a job. And she does specifically mention how many human people would be hurt if the Bureau was shut down. And beyond the magical creature stuff, it is still there to protect the timeline. The Legends can’t do everything. Also, we know that Ava, ultimately thinks she’s doing the right thing, even if she has to compromise some ethical principals to get there. I’m sure she worries that if she is removed as the director, someone incompetent could be put in place instead. And that could actually be a disaster. Ava isn’t perfect, but she is usually a good director.
Sara also probably didn’t choose the best words when she mentioned the Legends not being able to be shut down by Hank. Obviously, she meant it as reassurance but Ava took it to be more self-centered in the moment. That was clearly a moment of miscommunication and so I’m not super critical around Sara saying that, but it was a thing that contributed to the fight. Sara also does ask Ava to basically risk everything for her, right after she let Ava down. We know Sara and relationships have an interesting history and I think this is part of Sara learning how to give and take properly in a fully committed, long term relationship. Yes, there was Nyssa and Sara for a while as well as whatever was between Oliver and Sara, but I think her relationship with Ava is inherently different. And she has a lot of growing to do in regards to this type of romantic relationship.
In reviewing the fight again, Ava does specifically say that Sara is asking her to risk everything on a conspiracy theory about a bunch of monsters. That, I think, is the most telling line of the entire scene. It ties together her insecurity about the life she’s built, her disbelief in anything anti-government as well as her feelings towards magical creatures. This is how she sees this. We, as the audience, clearly disagree with her given the context of the show and I believe Ava will eventually come around and I think it actually may be due, in no small part, thanks to Nate. If he and Zari can uncover what is going on, with solid proof, I think Ava may be more willing to take that risk. But right now, she’s not in a place where she’s prepared to do that.
I think Ava is trying desperately to cope with being a clone and that may be why she tries to identify so strongly with humans and being human. Why she places them above magical creatures. It’s an avoidance mechanism. And if any of the scenes from the mid-season premiere trailer are an indicator, we will be coming up against the clone thing again sometime this season.
All of this being said. I personally believe Sara is completely in the right as far as the substance is concerned. Tactfully, I think she needs work. Ava is in the tough position, and her actions make sense given some of the stuff I said above, but ultimately, it will be up to Sara to convince Ava that there is something fishy with the Bureau and help her see that magical creatures are not lesser beings (with the help of the rest of the Legends I’m sure).
I think I read a snippet of Klemmer even saying he’s not sure if they really broke up, just they had a fight. All couples fight. And good ones can work through them. And that Avalance is a strong relationship and will likely get through this. So while this is not the end for Avalance, we’re in for an angsty ride.

Slow revamp? Slight psa
Tumblr media
It’s been a while coming, honestly I really do enjoy writing Lucifer- but it takes so much energy I don’t have to idk let a lot of stuff fly? I’ve been the epitome of ‘eh whatever’ which I enjoy writing with people, their takes, muses, etc. But some stuff I just want no part in. And certain behavior just ain’t cool.
So I’ll be revisiting my lackluster rules/probably do some elaborations. Def change of icon/header. Probably scratch the ship page too cause really I don’t use it.
-I don’t condone gross sexualization, of anybody. If you want to ‘uwu men who love men’ ‘uwu trans guys are so hot’ ‘uwu top or bottom’ ‘I’m a wlw but like why don’t we see the two in graphic detail f*cking’ .... then you do you. Just don’t drag me into it.
-I’m tired of downplaying Lucifer/trying to write odd variations just because some people have a certain vision? Without ooc communication? Like you want fanfic, write fanfic. He’s pansexual *I switch between it and bi cause I think he identifies depending on his mood*. He’s all about people having their own free will, etc. Strongly helps out people in tough situations, not granting every favor however.
-Ooc communication? A good thing that I’m really now kind of more a slut for especially here cause it’ll be needed in the future/to fix the sheer disaster this blog has become cause I want to be a bit more active here. (My multimuse comes first nowadays though, and like don’t get me started on Constantine’s blog needing a little revamp too)
-I’m a chill person obviously; but I’m here to write my own twist/have fun. And clearly far too relaxed. I want to have the fun again. Lucifer’s meant to be like ideal for fun but yet I literally can’t stand the negative energy/toxic people, etc and so I vanished. I vanish. Never log on like ‘yo so what if *insert hcs*’

Could that be EMERAUDE TOUBIA? No! That’s just ZATANNA ZATARA! I heard that they are a HERO called ZATANNA! Rumour has it SHE is 30 and is working as a FAMOUS MAGICIAN/PERFORMER. (ooc; luna, 21+, she/her, EST)
Tumblr media
(Luna at it again with late ass intros!)
Hey all! Here is some info on my little nugget, Zee!
Zatanna Zatara is the daughter of magician Giovanni “John” Zatara and Sindella, a member of the mystical Homo Magi race. Zatanna was raised by her father in a small house in New York, near the infamous Arkham Asylum. Zatanna's mother seemingly died after her birth, but she eventually learned that Sindella faked her death to return to her people.
Zatanna is a direct descendant of the artist and magician Leonardo da Vinci, and is related to Nostradamus, Alessandro Cagliostro, the noted alchemists Nicholas Flamel and Evan Fulcanelli, and Lord Arion of Atlantis.
She was incredibly close to her father and became an amazingly successful stage illusionist. While she did use a lot of ‘smoke and mirrors’, Zee also used her magic which is probably why she did so well for audiences. However, she didn’t realize she had actual magic until later in her career. Once she discovered her powers, she used them to assist those in the hero world; Teen Titans, Justice League, etc. She was soon after offered full membership into the league which she accepted. That is when she stopped performing and she was no longer considered Zatanna the magician. She became known as Zatanna the Sorceress.
In a battle with the Great Darkness, Zatanna lost her father after sacrificing him (with his consent) and it would haunt her forever. She has not gotten over this notable moment in her life and it’s the reason she has pushed away from John Constantine, former boyfriend and partner. In honor of her father, she resumed her performing as a stage magician.
In the mission of discovering herself, the source of her magic, and her mother’s presence, she became close to Batman and they started a very close relationship/friendship. Bruce Wayne was a friend of hers when she was a child assisting her father and he was a teenager attending the performances. Since then, they’ve been good friends.
She still deals with the loss of her father, her identity crisis and her issues with commitment which is why she tends to travel between dimensions all the time.
She is best friends with Dinah Lance and Harley Quinn and is friends with Stephen Strange. Through her relationship with the latter, she met Sofia who she became overprotective of. Zatanna tries to maintain her ties to her old titan and league friends despite her self proclaimed inability to be a stable friend. She says this a lot but would give the shirt off her back for anyone.
Zatanna is a Homo Magi, a human born with the affinity to manipulate magic. Her unique genetic structure allows her to use the magic she was born with as well as learned magic. As a tribute to her father, and as a focus for her spells, she casts spells by speaking backwards or "Logomancy". For example, saying "pots" would cause the target of the spell to stop in their tracks. She's feared and famed as one of most powerful magic users on the planet and mortal plane
Zatanna can manipulate magical elements such as:
Pyrokinesis: Generate heat and manipulate magical fire.
Cryokinesis: Generate cold and manipulate magical ice crystals.
Electrokinesis: Generate electricity and manipulate magical lightning.
Hydrokinesis: Generate and manipulate magical water.
Geokinesis: Generate and manipulate magical rocks.
Aerokinesis: Generate and manipulate magical wind.
Photokinesis: Generate and manipulate magic lights.
Umbrakinesis: Generate and manipulate magic shadows.
She is incredibly powerful and even though she doesn’t need it, she uses her wand to help her focus on her spells.
Zee is sassy, flirtatious, and chaotic good! lol She is a Ravenclaw and LOVES Harry Potter. A hopeless romantic, she won’t admit that out loud. Zee is famous in the human world as a magician but is also known from her league and Titan activity.

Part 3 - The King
Introduction
Part 1
Part 2
Disclaimer: This is the final portion of a three part essay on King Liam’s character growth in The Royal Romance, titled “The Crown, The Flame and the King”. The first two parts dealt with his actions in the Finale in the context of Cordonia, and of his relationship with the MC, respectively. The final part explores the possibilities for his character and his subsequent role in the MC’s story. Do read Part 1 and 2 before proceeding to this point.
Book 1 and Book 2 of The Royal Romance will possibly deal with two vastly different aspects of the MC’s journey: her experience of Cordonia as a beautiful place where she is welcomed and loved and adored (if the player chooses as such) and a place that can prove itself to be just as sexist, cruel and judgemental as it is beautiful. It is a foregone conclusion that she will stay back in Cordonia and fight - she has proven herself to be a pretty fiesty woman over the course of the first book, and she has friends who will definitely have her back. What remains to be seen is who will be involved, and how they will help her.
While the MC has been established, time and again, as being a strong, fierce woman (eg. her ability to hold her own in court even as a newcomer, her cutting Tariq down to size after he forcibly kisses her, her attempts to berate Bertrand when he seems to be putting either her or Maxwell down), it will be difficult for her to win this battle on her own, especially in a country she doesn’t know a lot about. Cordonia is a beautiful country with a murky past and a royal court that “never lacked for mysteries”, and the second book will no doubt deal with the less desirable aspects of living there, the nuances of living in such a small monarchy, and probably a better glimpse of what the common man on the Cordonian street faces from day to day. This, in turn, will give the MC a deeper understanding of this place she had been living in for months, away from the insular, isolated world of the royal palace and nobility.
This is where her love interests and allies fit in. Granted, all of them except Drake are aristocrats, but each of them are now outcasts in their own way. Olivia now lives under a constant threat of being exposed as a daughter of traitors, Betrand and Maxwell are (possibly) going to be outed as broke and lose the little credibility they had left, and Hana herself came to Cordonia to escape a more humiliating past back home. Each of them will have an axe to grind with the nobility/press/court, and will come together to fight multiple enemies in their midst.
However, I feel the most significant contributions will be from the love interests - Hana, Liam, Drake and (possibly) Maxwell. A good example of how this is possible is the Rules of Engagement series. Like TRR, RoE book 1 ends on a disturbing cliffhanger, where the MC (let’s call her Katie) finds herself tricked into marriage with her ex-boyfriend, just after her chosen LI has professed his love to her. The second book immediately opens with each of the LIs offering help, and delivering admirably. William attempts to help her by setting up a meeting with his attorney in Napa, and while no concrete solutions come out of this meeting, Katie is at least aware of what her chances of getting an annulment are. Leo sets up an audience with the King and Queen of Cordonia, pleading Katie’s case so that Constantine can agree to voiding the contract. And while Dean’s plan does not directly affect Katie’s annulment, it definitely helps her with a future problem, that of getting her cousin Violet on their side rather than as their enemy. All three have very different, yet important, roles to play in helping Katie fulfill her Nana’s dream.
Hana, Drake and Maxwell are a foregone conclusion when it comes to who will help the MC, and here is what will make them useful allies:
Drake: As an eyewitness to what really happened in the MC’s bedroom at Applewood Manor, Drake’s presence is integral. He is also aware of the lack of a lock on her door, and if he chooses to tell someone about it in the next book, it would further help with investigations. I imagine he will also pose as a protector/bodyguard figure for her, aware that her humiliation might also put her in potential danger among the Cordonian public.
Maxwell: It is fitting that our first look of Book 2 features a scene with Maxwell. Besides being the MC’s sponsor and friend, he and his brother also consider her now to be family. As Bertrand maintained in the Finale, “you are a part of Beaumont House now. I will be damned if I let anything happen to you.” While the Beaumont brothers have their moments of being shady and secretive, they are now pillars of support for the MC, and will possibly use their connections to clear her name. Maxwell, in particular, has always been encouraging of everything the MC has done so far, and will continue to provide moral support.
Hana: Hana may have been called back home by her parents, but since her character growth involves being able to stand up to them and chart out her own path, it is even more possible now that she will refuse to leave Cordonia and stay back to help the MC. Hana has had experience of being the centre of a scandal (her failed engagement), as we can see here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Given her troubled past and recent humiliation, Hana is good not only for moral support but as someone who can help the MC weather the storm of controversy, having been in the same boat (no pun there). In all probability she would be most useful in helping the MC rebuild her image.
You may have noticed that I haven’t mentioned Liam in this list. Given the way the first book ended, one cannot be sure if Pixelberry will explicitly show him helping the MC or not. It is entirely possible that the second book might have very little of him, that he might be shown blaming the MC or not contributing in any way to clear her name. I would like to argue that if the book does go in this direction for Liam’s character, it would be wildly OOC given what we have seen of him already. To understand the likelihood of Liam getting involved in the MC’s fight for justice, we need to take another look at the Finale. This time, we will be looking at his reactions to suspicious events taking place during the ball.
The MC tells Liam about the threatening note passed to her just before they head back to the ball, and his instant reaction is shock, anger and an attempt to reassure her that they will investigate this further. He clearly sees this as something that should not be brushed aside.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The second suspicious occurrance of the night is Olivia’s departure. Olivia goes to Liam first to break the news of her withdrawal, and even though he wasn’t planning to choose her, his reaction is still one of shock and concern.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Liam’s shock emerges not from hearing that she is not marrying *him*, but because her reaction is so unlike the Olivia he knows. They have been friends since she was five, and he is aware that she maintains a tough, unbreakable facade to the world. To see her break and give up so quickly is not something he is used to seeing. From what these panels show, he can clearly sense something is wrong.
As we have already established in the second post, Liam has been very proactive when it came to helping the MC, even though a lot of it was behind the scenes. There is no reason why - once he has come out of the chaos and trauma of the night - he wouldn’t look back to these two instances at his Coronation ball and put two and two together.
As king, Liam has unlimited resources and personnel at his disposal and will be able to help by getting his men to investigate things that happened on his property. Applewood and the palace are places he has unlimited access to and he can get to the bottom of what really happened in both these places easier than any of her other allies can.
Also, given that the real traitors are safe inside the royal palace, Liam has a better chance of finding out what they’re upto and exposing them.
If Drake and Liam remain friends (as I sincerely hope they do. The other alternative is that Drake might fault him for not “doing anything”. If this does come up I hope they let us remind Drake that he once said “it’s probably nothing” on seeing the missing lock on the door!), Drake can provide information to Liam about the security breaches at Applewood Manor and give him his side of the story. In fact, had Drake taken the initiative to inform Liam earlier, nothing would have stopped him from investigating the matter further and when the accusations came up at the ball, Liam would have been prepared to defend the MC with irrefutable evidence that she had been framed.
We also need to remember what Liam himself told the MC during his proposal: “since I’ve met you, I worry about being worthy of you.” Book 1 was about the MC’s journey to Cordonia, and (if Liam is her LI) proving to the nation and the nobility that she can rule alongside him. Book 2 could very well be a role reversal, where Liam now finally gets to prove how supportive he is of her and how much he is willing to risk to be with her.
The fear among a number fans of TRR, however, is that Liam might not be shown to do any of this, and may possibly turn into someone who won’t believe the MC, may slut shame her, or worse still, not have anything to with her at all, only to return when her name is cleared. This will only serve to undermine the good that his character has brought about in the books, and goes completely against how he’s been depicted in the books so far and what other people have said about him (most of the people close to him - Drake, Maxwell, Olivia, Leo - speak highly of Liam in terms of his compassion, selflessness and loyalty). If Pixelberry does follow that route, it will be a complete waste of a hitherto well-built character.
We have already seen Liam express doubts about the way things happen in Cordonia, in book 1. When he starts to consider the social season burdensome. When he realizes that he has never really been out on the streets of Cordonia all that much. When he describes the events themselves as chaotic and potentially dangerous. The Coronation Ball may have probably given him a glimpse of how cruel and underhanded Court dealings can be.
Liam, in Book 2, has opportunities to explore these problems, as well as others, and bring about change. And helping the MC clear her name is a pretty good start. Considering he began as a stickler for rules, and considering the ways he’s been shown rethinking them over the months before his Coronation, Liam seems like he will become a completely different king from the ones that came before. As Drake tells the MC at the ruins:

How do you run your blog?
Repost; Do Not Reblog
Speed: It really depends. Usually I’ll get to a thread within a week or two at the longest. Given that have several partners that I talk to and plot with daily/weekly, we generate a lot of new ideas frequently and when something takes awhile, it usually got buried by under a crust of new threads and occasional meme prompt ask. My drafts box is like an archeological site, I swear. Sometimes I do have trouble with inspiration for a reply, but usually it’s just a matter of getting wrapped up with my little circle of friends and co-writers.
A side note, during my working week, my productivity slows to a crawl. I’m usually better off in Skype or tumblr IM and may get to a thread or two either before or after work if I’m just not in lurk/shit post mode until I pass out.
Replies: Aesthetically I use extremely light formatting. The first word always bolded and italicized and default size with all other text smaller. I also bold the quotation marks in dialogue because it looks hella cool on my blog proper given that I have bolded/italicized text is a different colour than the rest of the text. It also looks classy af on the dash. Icons for either FC depending on verse or comic caps are used until it gets to nsfw stuff or with some drabble prompts. As for preferences, I’m really quite flexible. Honestly, tho, I’m a multi-para whore and with most threads, eventually they start to get longer and longer. However, unless I can’t parse my muse’s thoughts on a matter or situation, I won’t go in hard and fast on a one-liner or small single para. Unless you’re one of my people, but then again, you prolly already have experience being slapped with my throbbing multi-para hard-on.
I don’t expect people to match me, and sometimes I may struggle to match length, as well, but I do like to see an attempt. Like if I give you a four para starter, I would prefer not to get a two sentence reply back (some of you are shaking your head, but this actually happened to me in my halcyon days in the community).
Starters: I don’t do greeters, because idk, for me it feels like when a teacher called on you because you weren’t paying attention. Nearly every time I’ve gotten a greeter, I’m unprepared and feel quite suddenly pressed. The RPC is already a ball of anxiety 85% of the time and I don’t want to add to anyone’s discomfort, providing I’m not the only crazy person who reacts to getting a greeter like a distant gunshot. Depending on how clogged my drafts box is and how busy I am, I probably post a starter call every couple weeks and open starters very rarely because like, idk, no one ever hops on them, so I don’t really feel like they’re welcome. In the case of the latter, I only ask that people read the tags. Some open starters are meant for mutuals, particularly ones with some established interaction.
Unless they’re plotted starters (or replies to longer ask box meme responses that I wanted to turn into a thread), they usually start short and often vague. Please don’t keep it vague. It drives me nuts. I want you to present an idea, go out on a limb, whatever (I mean within reason of course, use your common sense, too).
Inbox: It’s a mess, tbqh. A lot of times I mindlessly reblog or queue memes, especially at work or when I’m out and about on mobile, and then don’t feel like doing them or get excited over certain prompts over others. I will say that I keep things in my inbox for a very long time and might get to replying to prompt weeks to months later. Frequently I will draft ones that I know will be long.
Selectivity: Hoooo boy. I’m pretty fucking selective tbh. I like my partners to be literate and of course be able to enjoy their portrayal/character. That’s not to say I’m not open to meeting new people and interacting with new muses. I don’t need to know your muse extensively to RP with you, but I’m also perfectly willing to educate myself (I’m not going to front, I was compelled to watch both Daredevil and Preacher for the sake of character/canon research, as well as starting to read Lucifer). Also, I mostly RP with mutuals, but again, that doesn’t mean I’m not willing to discover new mutuals, you feel me?
Sometimes when my stress levels are high or I’m drowning in drafts, I tend to be a bit more standoffish and stick to “my people”, however this doesn’t last for long and may be broken by a compelling enough new interaction.
Wishlist item: *pounds table aggressively* CONSTANTINE FAM! AND I SUPPOSE THIS IS REALLY SELFISH BUT I WANT A CHERYL OR GEMMA RP BLOG IN MY LIFE. AND IDEK MAYBE HAVING A CHERYL BLOG WOULD BE BORING AS SHIT, BUT A GEMMA??? SURELY TO FUCK SOMETHING FASCINATING COULD BE DONE WITH HER. Also: CHAS! ELLIE! HELL BLAZER CANON CHARACTERS PLS.
ahem.
Anyway, idk, I really don’t have a wishlist? I mean, there are certain themes I’m keen to explore. Like my mythological bent to John, and developing certain verses, but like...all things considered I’m just more interested in world and relationship building than ticking off a wishlist of AUs or situations I want to see played out.
Honest note: I’m fiercely independent, and I don’t put up with bullshit. Honestly, I don’t have much tolerance for drama and the easiest way to push me away is pull me into a vortex of social or interpersonal drama. Been there, done that, and honestly I can be a bit skittish if I start getting a weird vibe. I’m coming up on five years RPing on tumblr and there’s not a lot that shocks me anymore.
A few more admissions:
-- I love writing ships. When I wrote fanfic, it was 95% shippy stuff. That doesn’t mean it’s all about romance, fluff, and sex, sometimes it’s just how two muses relate to each other or a glimpse into their lives together, but I know my strengths and tend to default to them. This doesn’t mean I’m out to collect lovers for John or am not willing to step out my comfort zone, just that there’s going to be a lot of that stuff here.
-- If we talk ooc, there’s a 100% more possibility that you’re going to get more attention from me both ic and ooc. It’s just a matter of comfort level. Though I might seem together and confident, it’s only really in regard to my writing. I’m intimidated by people who are so much better at being witty and fun and silly on tumblr and chatty about their characters and fandom outside of the constraint of meme prompts or whatever. I guess I’m just afraid of boring people or having followers roll their eyes like “omg Iggy stfu. Don’t you have twenty-odd replies? Chop, chop you anal retentive bitch.” Mind, no one’s actually said this to me, I just have dodgy self-esteem, honestly, and some days are worse than others.
-- If I tell you I think you’re a good writer, I mean it. This is important.
-- If I tell you I’m worried about the quality of a reply I gave you, I’m not fishing for compliments, I’m legitimately uncertain that you’ll like it. Just fyi.
-- I’m bad at writing m/f ships in any expedient manner. I have no good excuse for this other than being queer trash that would rather write about men being in love and lust. And uh, that’s not a good excuse at all. I’m just the literal worst and I’m sorry I come off as not inclusive enough. Honestly, I’m trying to be better about this deep failing of mine.
-- I apologize a lot for things I shouldn’t. Sorry lol
