the reason we never see garak and bashir do sherlock holmes holodeck larping was that unlike geordi and data they both wanted to be holmes and they couldn't convince the other one to switch. garak would be like but you're a real doctor and bashir would be like yeah but i'm also a genius and garak would be like well i'm mysterious and aloof and a drug addict and bashir would be like well i'm taller. and it goes on and on so eventually they just book a holosuite thinking the other one will change their mind but then they both show up in sherlock holmes cosplay and they both refuse to go home and change, and they try to do the story with two holmeses but it just devolves into them arguing for two hours until quark kicks them out and they never try it again. so unfortunately we never get to see that episode but it would have been so funny if it existed

Don't be afraid, for in a thousand years,
in any version of reality,
I'll find you,
And I'll always be there

I remember the first time I read the “if I burden myself with a companion in my various little inquiries it is not done out of sentiment or caprice, but it is that Watson has some remarkable characteristics of his own” paragraph I just went suuure Holmes you TOTALLY dont hold sentiment for him or anything… but then later I realized thats not even what hes getting at. He sees how ““modest”” (read: insecure) Watson is and goes noo you dont understand your value to me isnt subjective you are just Factually Awesome okay? And that probably means a lot more to them

any given sherlock holmes adaptation doesn't HAVE to have a hot watson to be good but it does have to have a watson with bi energy. like they don't have to know they're bi yet but if ur watson doesn't seem like they'd at least consider saying yes to a proposition from a couple in the corner of the pub who are looking for a third for the night then you've simply misunderstood the character and u need to go back to the canon and try again

Weird Sherlock stuff: unexpected edition
Sherlock enjoys scrapbooking and includes information about his favourite cases
Watson keeps his stethescope curled up on top of his head, held in place by his hat
Sherlock and Watson host a reverse murder mystery dinner, where instead of pretending to kill someone, they reveal a lady who the police thought actually had been murdered
Sherlock thinks that the UK and the USA will eventually be reunited and form a huge, single country. Still a better idea than Brexit
Sherlock believes that people with big heads are smart. Possibly true... I have a small head and I'm thick as pigshit
