fluff; wc.: 476.
Kim Jiwoong x fem reader!; fluff fluff; established relationship and skinship; tw: none.
Song recommendation: You’re Beautiful — The Rose (Dual)
Nobody expected this. It was, indeed, a sight to see.
Kim Jiwoong, the tall gorgeous “mysterious” man who every girl in this faculty would drop everything for, was standing like a giant puppy with an enormous lovesick grin while you buttoned his coat, which he had unbuttoned on purpose on the way here, just to see your focused expression: the way you pursued your lips together and bit your tongue a little bit, the soft lines on your forehead and the lovely smile you gifted him when you were done. Your height difference made everything just so much funnier and cuter at the same time, because to thank you with a soft kiss on the forehead, he had to lean down a bit but that gave him the perfect excuse to whisper something only the two of you could hear; making your cheeks go dusty rose and his eyes crinkle with pure joy, his ears matching your colored cheeks.
—I really won the lottery in my past life, babe — As you recovered yourself from the cheesy remark, your hand immediately pinched his cheek, even though softly, he laughed at your weak attempt to get revenge.
—You did, indeed. — Carefully you draped your own scarf around his neck, finishing it in a bow. Red really suited Jiwoong but it was your soft strawberry scent emanating from the fabric and the sweet but firm tone of your words what made his heart race a mile per minute. — But I must admit I am a pretty lucky girl too… I have the cutest boyfriend ever.
You tiptoed and pecked him on the lips, rushing him to enter the classroom for his final; but Jiwoong stood there smiling like an idiot and wondering what on earth did he do to deserve your pure and honest love; to him, you were too much of a woman and sometimes he just seemed like an idiot beside you; but it was never the case for you, who carefully grabbed his hand, brought it to your lips and kissed it softly; proudly showing him his new “good luck charm” the stain from your lipstick, which was one of his favorites. — Whatever the result is, I’m already proud of you, ok? No worries, you’ll do great. I believe in you!
When he was finally about to enter, he rushed to your position and softly cupped your cheeks pecking your lips so quickly, you barely felt the contact; before disappearing again through the door with a wide grin showing his pearly white teeth. You reached for your lips and smiled too, some way and somehow, he always needed to kiss you last, but it didn’t matter too much, because right now, the lavender haze that was your head was filled with thoughts of your boyfriend and how happy you were to have him by your side.

You hear the party before you see it.
In fact, you hear it from a good block away before you see it, its heavy bass heartbeat thrumming down the street. You can’t help but think that it's pace is so irregular that it almost sounds like the apartment building itself has a condition.
“You mean cardiac arrhythmia?” Hiromi questions when you make this observation aloud.
“Yeah!” you exclaim, re-adjusting your hat. You aren’t bothered by not knowing this; she’s the physiology major after all. You’re just the blissfully ignorant literature student who occasionally understands phrases like “cell membrane” and “venereal disease”.
She gives you a funny smile, only made funnier by the deep-looking latex scars by her mouth. Going all out, she’d purchased a wide variety of face paint and makeup palettes from the Halloween store and spent most of the afternoon perfecting her look. You had simply sat back and watched, throwing on your witch costume when the time came and letting her turn her attention on you when she was done.
“Do you think people will know what I am?” She frets as you slip through the building door. Someone had propped it open with a milk crate and stuck a little paper ghost on it.
You look her up and down. From the sickly green face paint and artificial scars running across her cheeks it would be evident to anyone that she was a zombie. The tricky part would be the rest of her outfit; a shirt made of some shiny looking material with a belted pleather skirt and a matching cropped jacket. The makeup around her eyes is excessively glittery, and there’s a headset mic hanging down one side of her face.
“I’m a zombie idol,” she had explained when you’d first seen the test run for her costume. It was obvious after she’d explained it to you but you just know she’d be getting confused looks for the rest of the night.
“I’m sure you’ll be fine,” you lie with a grin as you ascend the stairs. “Now let’s go, undead Jennie Kim. We have some orange jello shots to do.”
The door is ajar as you walk past the landing, music and people spilling across its threshold as you urge Hiromi on. Already, you can spot some people from your lectures; a strawberry blond who slept through most of microeconomics and a girl you’d been partnered with for one chemistry lab.
You both manage to squeeze past the entrance and into the dense, beating heart of the event, illuminated by at least a dozen packs of LED fairy lights. Groups of your peers mill about, fake fangs and shiny capes glinting around the room like passing stars. You think you see someone familiar and are about to call out to them when Hiromi yanks at your wrist, pulling your attention back to her.
“Shit, shit,” she hisses, fiddling with one of her many bracelets as she turns away from one of the corners of the room. You’re about to ask what’s wrong when you spot him from across the room, red solo cup in one hand and his phone in the other.
“Ohh,” you say knowingly, giving her a small smirk. “Funny seeing him here,” you exclaim, your loud voice barely audible over the pounding bass of the music.
You watch with amusement as she runs her fingers through one of her carefully crimped pigtails, her sparkly nails catching in the strands as she attempts to work more volume into them.
“I didn’t know he’d be here,” she moans, narrowly avoiding the elbow of someone dressed like Saitama from One Punch Man.
“But you were hoping,” you tack on pointedly.
“I was hoping,” she sighs admittedly. “I just think he looks so good tonight, don’t you?”
You glance over at her longtime crush and cock your head. In his Halloween store pirate getup, complete with feathered hat and velcroed-on shoulder parrot, you can’t say he’s your type exactly. But the heart wants what the heart wants and what Hiromi’s heart seems to want right now is to talk to dollar store Blackbeard.
You sigh. Who are you to stop her?
“Go,” you say, giving her a light nudge in his direction. Her expression brightens before you catch a flash of hesitance in her eyes.
“But—” she begins, unsure.
“I’ll be fine,” you add reassuringly, trying not to let your apprehension show. True, you’d only come on the condition that she’d be by your side for most, if not all, of the night. But these are extenuating circumstances, and if you don’t let her try to get with the world’s most average looking Captain Hook, then you know you wouldn’t be any kind of best friend at all.
She squeezes her eyes shut, causing the glittery makeup to refract across her eyelids. “I love you,” she finally utters, taking hold of your hand.
“I know,” you grin, feeling the press of her acrylics in your palm as she pulls away. “Just text me when you’re ready to leave or let me know if I’m going home alone.”
“Will do,” she nods, patting the phone in her jacket pocket. You know there’s a chance you won’t get any message but that would be an indication in itself so you aren’t too worried.
“Alright,” you sigh, sending her off with a smile. “Go on and get the Jack Sparrow of your dreams.”
“Thank you,” she says again, adjusting one of her earrings before she heads on her way. You watch as she maneuvers past a posse of Sailor Guardians before making a beeline for her crush. A mixture of relief and pride swells in your chest as you see her make contact, and you grin as you see him lean in, clearly more interested than Hiromi knew (or noticed).
However, your quiet satisfaction is immediately quashed as someone jostles into you from behind. You stumble, nearly toppling into an overloaded coatrack before managing to right yourself against the wall.
“Asshole,” you mumble to yourself as whoever it was slips away without so much as an apology. It’s then that you realize the situation you’re now in; alone and sober at a party you aren’t even sure you want to be at.
During your time here you’d seen at least a couple of people you’ve spoken to, but no one you know well enough to hold onto in this swirling chaos of booze and tacky costumes.
Okay, you think to yourself, patting down the folds of your skirt as you assess your surroundings. You can do this. You can get out there and, maybe with a little beer as social lubrication, have a good time like everyone else.
Glancing towards the kitchen you see two people making out near the pantry, along with another four oblivious farm animals acting like nothing’s going on right next to them.
To your other side is the hallway, the small bathroom door swinging open as its occupant (a vampire) makes a hasty exit. You think you could use the opportunity to freshen up before attempting socialization.
Looking past that, there are two other doors; one of them tightly shut and the other cracked open just a sliver, showing the end of a made bed. You know the rules about being a good houseguest and all, but you can’t help but feel a bit curious.
However, the heart of the party is right before you in the living room. You spot a group of people leaning over some kind of board game, their occasional hollers and shouts drawing your attention.
Past them is the sliding glass door that leads to the balcony. Its inhabitants, plural or otherwise, are obscured from view, thanks to the glare of the room. Despite this, you think fresh air could do you some good.
You decide to: > Go to the closed bedroom. > Go to the open bedroom. > Go to the balcony. > Go to the kitchen. > Go to the hallway. > Go to the bathroom. > Go to the living room.

Beautiful | jungwoo!au
Tumblr media
summary: you were working on a photoshoot with your university team, in the meanwhile, jungwoo has to dress up as a girl to help his sister.
words: 2.600 (sorry bout that)
pairing: you & jungwoo
a/n: pretty sweet. also, sorry about any mistakes, english is not my native language. it’s not that good idk? but it would be a shame deleting it all without giving a try. promise next time will be better.
requests are open!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Two hours. That was the amount of time you had already spent trying to convince your senior that purple lights wouldn’t look as good as blue ones. The scenario was all set up but the lights still annoyed you. He had been working with photoshoots before you, period. He had plenty of works highly well recognized by all teachers in photography faculty, period. Yet, purple didn’t feel right.
Tired of hearing your annoying complains he decided to give it a try. It ended up with you being congratulated by your ‘unceasing persistence’ and happy with the finally blue studio. He was good, but you also were. Being on top of the class was the main reason you were the only sophomore in the wise room.
Once done with the lighting discussion you decided to take a look on the models. It was not your first time on a shooting like that so you had plenty knowledge of how the girls get stressed and sensitive right before the show. Most of them you’d never seen before and was pretty much sure you wouldn’t be seeing again anytime soon, still you made sure to bring them some fruits and cool water.
‘’You all look stunning! Definitely the prettiest girls I’ve ever seen’’ you genuinely smiled at them. That was your job, making them feel at ease, instead of freaking them out like Doyoung would be doing in a few minutes.
He wasn’t a bad guy, but the amount of overwork he had been dealing with in the past few months may have helped him to become this ‘fast mood shifting’ weapon. Or you might just think it because you are two opposites. Doyoung doesn’t know how to behave when it comes about girls. Also don’t you when it comes about boys.
“There’s one missing’’ Ten made himself noticeable, handing you the paperwork.
“It’s fine, we still got a few minutes.’’ you tried to stay calm, although you knew Doyoung would be shouting at you once the shoot started and one of his ‘girls’ was missing. ‘’I’ll go grab some coffee for us. Make sure Doyoung doesn’t freak out.’’
“I will try.’’ It’s all you get back when you’re already reaching the elevator.
In the meanwhile, Jungwoo was in denial.
“No.” was all he said.
“No, you don’t get me.” Junghah, the older sister, insisted. “I need you to be there for me. The director will fucking kill me. Also, what if I never get a job like this again?”
“You should be there, not me!” his voice still sounded awfully adorable, despite the loudness.
“I know! Do you think I’m like this cause I want to? Huh?” Junghah’s voice made itself louder than expected thanks to the eco. She had been in the bathroom for the whole day long. It had been four hours already. “Even if I manage to get out of here, I don’t think I can stay away for too long, you understand?”
Jungwoo was too good, even he suspected of it, but everything must have a limit. He thought about the uncountable number of times he’d helped his older sister until the very moment. Combing her hair when she broke her arm. Dumping her ex-boyfriend for her cause she wouldn’t be able to handle his crying face. Not to mention all the times he had lied to their mom in order to help her sneak out of the house to go out.
He knew that dressing up as a girl and showing up in a photoshoot wasn’t the best decision at all.  “Pretty please.’’ and that was it.
With that simple sentence she had him all over her shoes.
Jungwoo was way too good.
[…]
“Hold on, please!” you let the air in your lungs come out as a demand, running to the metal door a few steps away from you while managing to keep both ice americanos in your hands inside its cups, instead of dripping all over the elevator’s floor. “Thank you.” you mumble once in, trying to fix the harsh first impression you’d just caused.
A smile was the answer. An awkwardly cute smile coming from an around 5 feet tall girl. She was huge, that was no secret, even compared to the ones waiting for you at the studio, yet something about her felt just to adorable, despite her size. Her long hair fell just right over her shoulder’s, contouring her back with a few other strands over her cheekbones. She was definitely adorable and you couldn’t help but smile.
“Excuse me, are you here for the shooting?”
“Uh, yes!” not only the face was lovely, but also the voice.
You tried to keep your reactions to yourself, but seeing her ears getting red just made you internally jump in joy. “I see. I’m also on it, I mean, not modeling as you can see. I’m in charge of light and photography.’’ you smiled once again when she opened her mouth impressed, getting even more red than before. “Is this your first time?”
“...Is it that obvious?” and once again you found yourself whipped by that extremally cute face.
“Nah, it’s just cause you have very sincere expressions. It’s not bad though.” The conversation could keep on some other time, because in the very next second you’d arrived in the 8th floor.
You, politely, guide the girl to the makeup room and let her there so they could work out on how to make her look like the astonishing (you would call kinda fake looking) woman we see on magazines.
[…]
As you thought Doyoung couldn’t keep his frustrations to himself, but since you were there the models had someone to rely on. Specially the cute one. It was her first time so it took ages for her to feel comfortable enough to pose properly.
You managed to make some good pics before noon arrived, so you’d just sit around and wait until your colleagues were also done. Going out for a few drinks was always one of the best parts of working on projects with them.
While setting up a few things in your head and organizing some paper and equipment, you heard two of your senior laughing. ‘If they can chill, they can also help me get everything done’ your thought while frowning. Finally reaching both guys you could barely remember the names, you were able to hear was seemed to be so funny.
“I don’t know how Doyoung let that thing be on the project. That’s definitely not a girl, dude.”
“I mean, maybe if I was drunk, or blind” both them laugh annoyingly.
“Well, if it is so cool making fun out of people, I guess you guys will die in laughter once you check up on yourselves in the mirror.” you claim entering the place. “Or it might be funnier if your just shut the fuck up and take care of the work you’re here to do.’’
“Yeah, but nobody told me this was a gay parade.” one insisted.
You smile back. “I bet they told you it was a circus. That’s why you keep acting like a fucking clown.”
Before it could get any worse (or better), all the models, now done with their hard work, entered the room laughing in delight once it was over. Except from the tall one, who came in leaving the bathroom right behind you. You frowned in pain. You just wished she didn’t hear all the bullshit those two said.
“Thank you for that.” she told you once you both were the only ones left in the huge studio, since taking the elevator was a kind of process when there were around 14 people in there. And taking the stairs on 8th floor was not an option.
The touch of your hand on hers makes she feels vulnerable, and once again she blushes. “Never mind those assholes. Men are fucking stupid. Are you coming with us for a drink?”
“Uh, not really. I gotta go back to check on my sister.”
“Oh, I see.” and when the elevator finally arrives to get you, you hear her sighing in relief.
“You did well today. I bet we are gonna see each other again anytime. What’s your name anyways?”
“Kim Jungwoo.” she answers back with a wide smile.
“You’re name is as adorable as your face, you know it?” you can’t help but make your thoughts real by telling the truth.
“Oh... Thank you. I don’t get this a lot.”
“But you should. Honestly, you’re the cutest model I’ve ever bumped into. Feel lucky, cause I see plenty of gorgeous girls every once in a while. You’re extremally beautiful.”
“Thank you.” you are amused by the laugh that comes from her. It was just too much of a cute sound. But before you could embarrass yourself in front of her again the door opens, revealing a groups of people waiting for you to follow them to the nearest bar.
You just wave goodbye and wish Jungwoo luck.
[…]
Later that night Jungwoo searched for you online. He wasn’t brave enough to send a request, though. He felt cheesy for being like that, just appreciating your face once again by a picture someone else took. But it was not all about looks. It was about you all. Something just felt warm inside him while watching a stupid video Jaehyun posted on your birthday.
Was it the smile? Was it the cozy voice? He didn’t know for sure, but it made him feel even worse for not being fearless.
He was a coward afterwards.
[…]
You couldn’t bare the pain in your neck anymore, even after trying to stretch or taking pain-killers. You decided to go home for the day, you wouldn’t be much productive editing the pictures with that annoying pinch keeping all your attention for itself.
“Excuse me!” the sweet voice reached your ears when you were just about to leave the building.
“Yes?” you frowned. That face was somehow familiar.
“Uh- well... I was here last weekend on the photoshoot...’’ You still couldn’t link it.
“Sorry, I don’t recall. Are you a staff member?”
“Not exactly. Well, I was... one of the models.” Oh. It wasn’t hard to say why you weren’t able to recognize her (him? they?).
They still were tall as hell, the baby face had pretty much the same features and naive expressions, but it all just felt so different. The person right in front of you now seemed like someone else.
“I think I remember now.” you said trying to conceal your surprise. “How can I help?”
There it was again. Ears turning red, just as the tip of the nose, confused face and shrunken shoulders. Just as adorable as you could remember.
“I actually... Hm...”
“The pictures aren’t ready yet, if that’s what you’re here for. It takes some time.”
“No!” they answered louder than you expected, getting you surprised. “I... actually came to.. Uh, talk to you.”
“Me?” you didn’t mean to sound as surprised as you actually did.
“I’m so sorry! I swear I’m not a weirdo. I just didn’t have the chance to talk to you that much that day, and I was wondering if... Well, if y-you...”
No. The answer was already set on your mind before you could even think about the painful pinch on your neck. But that was when you realized it wasn’t there anymore. You frown in confusion and run your fingers through the back of your head. Everything is just fine.
“Ok.” you said before thinking well, interrupting the other while getting lost on their own words. “What about grabbing some coffee?”
They were not a dog, but for a second you could swear you saw a wagging tail when they opened that bright smile right in front of your eyes.
[…]
So Kim Jungwoo was indeed a guy.
The whole ‘’dressing’’ as girl thing had a story behind it, before you could get angry at him. No that you had a real reason for that, but as Ten would say “getting mad at boys is you favorite sports”. But even though, he was way different from all the other boys you had ever met.
Adorable wasn’t the only word to describe him. He was... sweet (?) Like genuinely.  Not the kind of “am I cute?” sweet, the real sweetness. The one kids lose once they grow up. The one that makes us love animals because they’re just too pure for this world.  And you hated yourself for feeling so much at ease with a guy as you did with Jungwoo.
You knew his intentions. Growing up with two older brothers and being friends with Johnny made you a kind of expert when it comes to know that guys are into you. Yet, you couldn’t help but smile at each sweet expression he’d let off whenever you said something that caught him out of guard.
[…]
Keeping in touch with Jungwoo was just natural.
People tend to say they never really realize they fell in love, but you’d never forget that friday night, when he texted you a “I wanna see you soon.”.
What is this? You thought to yourself, holding onto your phone tightly, staring at the ceiling wondering since when were you anticipating seeing Jungwoo that much. What exactly was that cozy warmness inside your chest.
[…]
“I like you.” Jungwoo closed his eyes when the words came out, becoming real.
It had been a month since the first time you thought he was adorable. And now, right in front of that playground somewhere nearby your house, on that cold november noon, he was being adorable once again.
He didn’t dare to take your hands. He knew you well to know how suspicious you were with skinship, what got you smiling. You moved one step forward, getting closer to the taller cute boy, taking one of his hands on yours.
“I know.”
“Since when?” he sighs deeply. You wish you were brave enough to check up his expression. I bet his ears are red, you thought.
“Since day one.” you laugh when his lamentation moan reaches your ears, at the same time he decides to lay his head on your shoulder.
“That’s so unfair.” he sighs once again, that’s when you feel the urge to pet his head. At the first touch he gets surprised, since touching wasn’t really something between the two of you. “I’m sorry.”
“There’s nothing to be sorry for.” you smile, although you knew he couldn’t see it.
Gathering all his strength, he takes a step back to face you. “And... What’s your answer?”
You laugh. “You know I have a soft spot for you and there’s no way I’d say no when you’re looking at me like that.”.
And when he pouts at you with that ridiculously adorable face you can’t help but hugging him. “You were special since the first second. Thank you for that.”
He hugs you back and now you’re able to feel his heartbeat, which gets you a bit worried since it was way faster than people consider healthy.
“I never cared when people gave me compliments. But that day, when you said I was beautiful, I felt you were looking through me. It was not about being a guy, being a girl, not even about being attractive. It was about... me. I’m the one to thank you.”
You smile while petting his back. “You’re beautiful, Jungwoo.”
And he was.
Kim Jungwoo was the prettiest thing that had ever crossed your path.

Relationship: Kim Seokjin/Reader Warnings: Cheating Word count: 4206 Genre: Fluff, angst Summary: Your friends-with-benefit partner, Kim Seokjin, surprises you only to find out you haven't been completely honest with him lately.
----------
You had never been a friends with benefits type of person. You were much too monogamous and prudish to share just your body with someone. You had always wondered how anyone could keep that kind of arrangement up without catching feelings for the other person.
However, your mindset had changed on the friends with benefits situation when you met Kim Seokjin. You had first befriended his roommate and bandmate, Min Yoongi. Your personality matched well with Yoongi and you had become close friends quickly. It hadn’t been long into being Yoongi’s friend that you had been introduced to Jin.
There had been no denying that he was beautiful. You had immediately been hypnotized by his captivating eyes and his breathtaking smile. And the worst part was that he had an amazing personality to accompany his good looks. He was funnier than anyone you had ever met and he could find the fun in almost any situation. He had an almost shy side, too. He would blush up to his ears, sometimes. It was an endearing quality you had grown to love.
A few months after you had met Jin, Yoongi had invited you to his birthday party. Everyone had had way too much to drink and most of the party had been a drunken blur. All you knew was that you had wanted Jin more than you had wanted anything at that moment — and he had wanted you, too.
The sex had been great. More than great, honestly. Mindblowing. Jin hadn’t kicked you out afterward, either — showing his true gentlemanly colors. You had spent almost the entire day with him — playing video games and goofing off together.
You had genuinely thought that this could blossom into something more than a one-time thing. And, in a way, it did. While you had hoped for something more committed and romantic, Jin had something else in mind.
A month had passed and the two of you had slept together five more times before you had the talk.
“What’s going on with you?” Jin asked, raising his eyebrows. You had been fidgeting in your seat for the last twenty minutes. You hadn’t thought you were being obvious, but of course, Jin had noticed.
“Can I ask you something?” you said, nervously fiddling with your chopsticks. Jin seemed to sense the seriousness of the conversation and set down his own chopsticks to give you his full attention.
“Of course,” he said, giving you a nervous smile. “What’s up?”
“What are we?”
The moment you said it, you felt your entire face light up. You hated having these kinds of conversations. They always made you so uncomfortable. Jin’s face contorted into several emotions before settling on guilty.
“I like you, y/n,” Jin said, sighing deeply. “But I don’t want a relationship right now. I didn’t think you did, either. I’m traveling constantly. It would be stupid to start a relationship right now.”
You felt let down. You knew this was coming, but you still weren’t prepared for it. You had been right about the friends with benefits situation. You knew it was going to backfire. You had developed feelings for Jin. But, the feelings weren’t too strong, yet. You could probably stop now and try to push them away to keep your friendship intact.
“I’m sorry,” Jin said, looking really uncomfortable with your silence.
“It’s okay,” you reassured him, plastering on a fake smile. “I just wanted to clarify. We should probably—”
Before you could say the word ‘stop,’ Jin continued on.
“If you want to keep, you know, sleeping together, I wouldn’t object to that,” Jin said, the tips of his ears turning bright red. “I know I’m not around a lot and you can definitely sleep with other people. But, just when I’m around…” Jin trailed off, awkwardly.
“Yeah,” you said before your brain could catch up. That’s not what you should do, stupid. Don’t do that. “Let’s continue doing that.”
You were so fucked.
The two of you had been doing this for over a year, now. Jin would pop back to Korea for a few weeks and he would spend almost every free moment fucking you. And when you didn’t fuck, you spent time together. You played video games, binge-watched television shows, ate dinner together, took naps together.
And when he wasn’t there, he was texting you. He would send you funny selfies of himself on a music video set, videos of Jungkook clowning around, a photo of Namjoon sleeping in a funny position. It felt so much like a relationship that you sometimes forgot you weren’t dating.
You didn’t know if he was seeing anyone else and you tried not to think about it, knowing it would hurt you if you found out there was someone else. But, he never spoke about anyone else. You, too, never spoke about any of your dates (there had been few) or sex (even less) to him either. After it had gone on for a few months, your monogamous heart attached itself to Jin. You had tried to push away the feelings that had formed, but you hadn’t been successful.
But instead of telling Jin about your feelings, you decided to go in the opposite direction. You began dating again. You were at the point now where you wanted a real relationship. You wanted to love someone and be loved back. Spend mornings together curled up together in bed, whispering sweet nothings into each other’s skin. You wanted a boyfriend who would show you off and introduce you to his family. You wanted to be in love... with someone who wasn’t Kim Seokjin.
You hadn’t told Jin. He was on the American leg of the tour right now and wasn’t supposed to be back in Korea for over two months. You two had always had an open “relationship” and you didn’t want to say anything or end that before you knew you had found someone you liked enough to see a possible future with.
Park Hyunwoo was his name. You had met him through your co-worker. He was kind and intelligent. Your similar sense of humor and shared interests had caused you to hit it off pretty easily.
By your fourth date, he had asked you to be his girlfriend. You didn’t want to acknowledge how you hesitated — your thoughts being overwhelmed by Jin. You didn’t want to think about how you wished you could have this with him. Instead, you pushed down the doubt and longing for Jin and said ‘yes’ to Hyunwoo.
And everything was fine. You still texted Jin. You hadn’t found it in your heart to tell him that you wanted to end your arrangement. You hadn’t even mentioned Hyunwoo to him. You had only been officially together for two weeks, now. You didn’t think it would hurt to wait a few weeks more. It’s not like you were sexting Jin anymore. You had found excuses to keep it mostly friendly. Jin was known to flirt and you had flirted back — but nothing too out of control.
You definitely should have mentioned Hyunwoo, though.
About two weeks after you and Hyunwoo had officially started your relationship, he had been staying the night. He had headed over after his shift at the hospital and fell asleep almost immediately. You weren’t even remotely tired, yet. You had always been a night owl. You were alone, in your living room, typing away on your computer, trying to finish up some work that you had been putting off for days.
You were sitting in complete silence, causing you to startle when you heard the clicking of a key unlocking your door. You set your laptop down quickly and made your way towards the door. Only two people had a key to your apartment: your best friend and — oh no.
Jin stood in your doorway, shrugging off his jacket, easily, and hanging it on the hanger by the door. You felt your heart drop. He looked so insanely good. He was wearing a baseball cap, dark-rimmed glasses, black jeans, and a gray hoodie. He looked like he had just woken up from a nap.
The tiredness left when he saw you, though. His face spread into a large grin and he took three big strides towards you. You felt his lips hit yours before you even comprehended what was happening. Kissing Jin after such a long time was always so exhilarating. You had missed these lips far more than you wanted to admit.
Your brain was screaming for you to push him away and immediately explain that your boyfriend was sleeping in the room next door, but, the feeling of his lips on yours was fogging up your mind. You had missed him, so much. Once he had begun playing with the end of your t-shirt and your kisses had gotten sloppier, you finally gained your senses.
You pulled away from him suddenly, causing Jin to frown down at you. But, he soon replaced it with one of his breathtaking smiles.
“Miss me?” Jin asked, leaning his head down to kiss your neck. You pulled away again, sidestepping yourself from the corner he had trapped you in.
“Jin.”
You hated the way you said his name. You knew it sounded breathless and smitten. Like you loved him.
“What are you doing here? I thought you were supposed to be in LA.”
Jin looked confused by your sudden need to put space between the two of you. Normally, when he showed up, you were all over him from the moment he walked in the door.
“They gave us a few days off,” Jin said, a small grin on his face. “Yoongi had to fly back to do some work here. I decided to join him. I guess I missed you.”
You felt your heart flutter a bit at that. You tried to push it down, but the genuine look in his eyes had your stomach doing somersaults
“We should talk,” you said, suddenly.
Jin tilted his head, confused. The serious tone of your voice must have invoked a bit of panic in him because he took a step closer to you, hoping to close the distance between the two of you.
“y/n?” Hyunwoo’s voice sounded behind you and you felt dread like you had never felt before. In the entire time you had known Jin, you had never seen him looked so shocked.
“Oh,” Jin said, looking between the two of you. He took in Hyunwoo’s disheveled appearance and the time of night and seemed to piece things together. “I didn’t realize you had someone over.”
“Is that Jin from BTS?” Hyunwoo said, his eyebrows raising.
You needed a drink. This was not happening. You knew you should have told Jin about Hyunwoo sooner. You knew this would backfire in your face. You felt like the worst person in the world at this moment.
“Hyunwoo, sorry we woke you,” you said, finally chancing a glance at your boyfriend. “Jin is an old friend. He just got back in town from LA. He just dropped by to say hi.”
“At midnight?” Hyunwoo asked, looking confused.
“The time change,” Jin said, halfheartedly, with a shrug. “Messes me up. I guess I didn’t think.”
Jin was looking at you now. His face was going through a mixture of emotions but you were far too overwhelmed to decipher any of them.
“Oh, alright,” Hyunwoo said, seeming to believe Jin’s horrible excuse.
He walked over to you and put his arm around you. He pulled you close to him, kissing the side of your head. Jin visibly flinched in front of you.
“Babe, you didn’t tell me you knew BTS. That’s insane.
“Yeah, it’s a long story,” you said, trying to brush it off.
“I should go,” Jin said, suddenly. “I interrupted your evening.”
You wanted to shout for him to stay, but how could you? You had lied to him and your boyfriend. If Jin wanted to leave, he should be able to leave. The thought broke your heart, though.
“No, you stay,” Hyunwoo said, looking in between the pair. “I’m actually leaving.”
“Leaving?” you said, looking confused. Hyunwoo had been planning on spending the night tonight, so you two could do something tomorrow morning.
“I just got paged,” he said, holding up his pager that notified him when he needed to go into the hospital. “There was a massive accident on the freeway. They need all the help they can get. But, have fun and try to get some sleep. I know you’re stressed about work, right now.”
Hyunwoo pulled you into him to peck your lips, once. He slipped on his jacket and shoes quickly and waved. “I’ll call you when I’m off. I’ll take you out for breakfast or lunch… depending on how long it takes.”
“Sounds good,” you said, your voice strained. You were going to be alone with Jin now and you weren’t sure if you were prepared for it.
After he said a final goodbye to Jin, Hyunwoo was out the door. The silence in the apartment was deafening. Jin was shifting back and forth on his feet and you were awkwardly tapping your fingers against your arm.
“I should have told you,” you said, finally. Jin looked up at you, his face blank of all emotion. He did this when he didn’t want you to see how he was actually feeling.
“It’s none of my business who you are seeing,” Jin said, his voice sounding strained. It seemed that he could mask his facial expressions, but not the sound of his voice. “This isn’t a relationship.”
“No,” you said, leaning against the couch. “It’s not. We agreed to that a long time ago.”
“So, this is over, then?” Jin said, gesturing between the two of you.
You felt a bit of panic at the idea of your and Jin’s arrangement coming to an end. You knew this was coming. You were going to have to tell him eventually. But, it had always felt like something far off. You were supposed to have a few more months to get used to the idea.
“Yeah,” you said, trying to keep the emotion out of your voice. “It has to be. Hyunwoo doesn’t know anything about this. I was going to talk to you about this when you got back from your tour. It felt strange to text you or call you about it.”
“Yeah,” Jin said. He hadn’t looked at your face for a while. His eyes were focused behind you, instead. “I understand.”
“I’m sorry, Jin,” you said, feeling overwhelmed by the emotions that were bubbling up. You didn’t want this to end, but it had to.
“For what?” Jin asked, his voice a bit sharper than he intended. “This was never anything. It was just sex.”
That hurt. Yes, this had started off as just sex. But, it had grown into a great friendship. The two of you had grown close to one another throughout the year of this arrangement. While sex had started out as the main priority, it had developed into something that brought both of you so much comfort. You sometimes felt like you knew Jin better than you knew anyone. You had seen him frustrated and vulnerable before. You had held him, stroked his hair, did everything in your power to make him smile. He had told you things he had never told anyone before. And you, in return, had done the same. He knew the ins and outs of your heart.
There had been far more intimacy than just sex in this relationship.
“We’ll still be friends,” you said, hopefully. “You can still text me when you’re on tour. Visit me when you’re in town.”
Jin seemed to pause for a moment, his eyes finally meeting yours. You saw something you hadn’t expected to see: pain. Real pain. This was affecting him much more than he was letting on.
“Jin,” you said, pushing off the couch and closing the gap between the two of you. You grabbed ahold of his hand and held it in yours. “I’m—”
Before you could react, his lips were on yours again. You were so caught off guard by it, that you nearly fell. Jin wrapped his arms around your waist, keeping you in place. The kiss wasn’t like your normal kisses. It wasn’t heated or needy. This kiss was passionate and soft at the same time. He moved one of his hands up to cup the side of your neck softly, stroking his thumb against your jawline. This kiss felt different. This kiss felt like… more.
When he pulled away from you, his eyes were boring into yours.
“You can’t do that anymore,” you said, feeling breathless.
Jin’s arms were still around you and you wanted to pull out of them, but you couldn’t bear to. One part of your brain was screaming to run away and kick him out, while the other part wanted to stay in his arms forever. You wanted to snuggle closer to him and bury your face in his chest, inhaling the familiar and comforting scent that was just… Jin.
“I know,” Jin said, softly. His eyes bore into yours, as though he was trying to convey a message to you. You couldn’t read it. You didn’t know how to make his pain go away.
“I’m sorry,” you said, again. This time, Jin’s eyes changed. He looked frustrated with you.
“Stop saying you’re sorry,” he said.
He pulled away from you, putting a bit of distance between the two of you. You could see his hands form into fists.
“Stop feeling sorry. I’m fine. We fucked. That’s all this was.”
“Jin,” you said, going to reach out to him.
“I’m going to go,” Jin said, ignoring you. You grabbed his hand to try and still him. Jin looked back at you. “Let go. Enjoy your breakfast with your boyfriend.”
You had never seen Jin this upset before. His eyes were flashing dangerously and his tone was deadly.
“Stop that,” you said, beginning to feel anger well up in you, too. “You don’t get to be angry with me.”
“I’m not angry.” Jin’s voice contradicted the words.
“Yes you are,” you said, glaring at him. “I know you, Seokjin. This isn’t fair. You’re the one who told me you didn’t want anything else with me. You’re the one who told me that we could see other people, too.”
“Fuck other people,” Jin corrected, turning around to face you, again. He looked crazy; like he was being pulled in a million different directions. “Not fall in love with other people.”
There it was. That word. Love. You felt yourself deflate.
“I don’t know what you want from me, Jin,” you said, sighing deeply. “You tell me you just want sex — no strings attached. I comply, even though I wanted more than that. And then you treated me like your girlfriend for over a year, but you still didn’t want to date me.”
Jin looked like he was going to interrupt, but you continued on before he could.
“You obviously aren’t interested in being my boyfriend. You would have said something by now. I couldn’t keep wanting you, Jin. I couldn’t keep chasing after you. I needed more than just sex. I needed someone to love me and care about me. I needed to find someone who could give me that. And now that I have, you’re here making me feel like absolute shit for finding someone that wants to do more than just fuck me.”
Jin looked at you, dumbfounded for a moment before he made his way towards you. He put his hands on your shoulders and looked into your eyes.
“y/n,” Jin said, more serious than you had ever heard him. “If you think that the only reason I like you is for your body, then you haven’t been paying attention. If you think I show up here every break I have and spend almost all of my time off with you because I just want a quick fuck, then you’re insane. I haven’t dated, fucked, or even looked at another girl for almost an entire year. You’re all I think about. If I didn’t want you, I wouldn’t have just spent 13 hours on a plane just to spend two days with you.”
“But—” you began, but he cut you off.
“I’m sorry I didn’t flat out say I had feelings for you,” Jin said, looking exhausted. “I just thought you picked up on them. I thought I was obvious. You’re the best part of my day. I’ve told you that, before. Many times. Don’t you listen? You need to listen more.”
You rolled your eyes, suddenly. Of course, he would scold you during a love confession. How very Jin-like.
“You need to be more upfront,” you quipped back. “It’s been over a year and you didn’t say anything about wanting to date me. Did you just think I was going to magically know?”
“It’s fine,” Jin said, shaking his head, a playful smile falling onto his lips. “You just don’t listen. Maybe I did ask you and you just didn’t hear me.”
“You’re so annoying,” you said, laughing suddenly. You shoved him away from you, but he pulled you back into his arms.
“So what now?” you asked, the moment turning a bit serious, again. “What does this all mean?”
“Are you really going to make me ask after all of that?” Jin said, raising his eyebrows at you.
“Jin, I swear to—” you began, but Jin cut you off.
“It means,” Jin paused and sighed deeply. “It means I love you. I want to be with you. Please dump that stupid doctor and be with me.”
“He’s actually a nurse,” you said, causing Jin to glare at you.
“I don’t care what he is,” Jin said, putting his hands on your cheeks. “I can’t believe I just told you that I loved you and you completely ignored it.”
“You genuinely want to be with me?” you asked. “Even though we barely see each other and you could literally have anyone you want? I’m talking models, Jin.”
“Stop,” Jin said, a small grin appearing on his face. “Just tell me you love me back.”
“You’re really needy, you know,” you said, teasing him. He began pushing you into the corner of the room. When you were up against the wall, he leaned in close to your lips, but he didn’t kiss them.
“Say it,” Jin said, his thumb rubbing over your cheekbone. His playful tone was replaced with a more serious one when he said, “please.”
“I love you,” you said, looking into his brown eyes. It was something you had barely admitted to yourself. You knew you loved him. You had for a long time. You just didn’t think you would ever be able to say it out loud.
Jin’s lips captured yours in a mesmerizing kiss. Jin always kissed with passion, but this time, it felt like he was pouring every ounce of feeling into it. When he finally pulled away, he pecked your lips one more time before he pulled back to look at you.
“So, does this mean I’m your girlfriend, then?” you asked, raising your eyebrows at him.
“I was thinking we could maybe just keep having sex,” Jin said but laughed when you slapped him hard on the shoulder.
“Yah!” he whined, loudly. “That hurt!”
“You’re not funny,” you glared playfully at him.
“You always laugh at my jokes,” Jin said, grinning. “You can’t deny I’m funny. I have proof.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” you said, rolling your eyes. Jin smiled softly at you and moved some hair behind your ear.
“Do you want to be my girlfriend?” Jin asked, a bit of nervousness in his voice. “I know how awful my schedule is and I know how much it sucks that no one can know about it.”
“We can do it,” you said, shrugging. “We’ve basically been doing it for a year, anyway. Even if there wasn’t a label on it.”
“Okay,” Jin said, a smile on his face. “Now that it’s official, can I officially fuck my girlfriend?”
“You’re ridiculous,” you said, rolling your eyes. But, there was a hint of a mischievous smile on your lips. You held out your arms and Jin picked you up and threw you over his shoulder. You yelped and laughed as Jin marched you over to your room. He gave you a night to remember and in the morning, you broke up with Hyunwoo.
Hyunwoo had been shocked but proved to be the gentlemen he had portrayed himself to be. He was kind and understanding. Luckily, feelings hadn’t formed too deeply yet on his side. He let you go, easily.
So, as you laid in bed the night before Jin left to go back to America, you savored his arms around you and the sound of his soft breathing. You felt sadness at the thought of seeing him go, again, but you knew he would come back. And this time, he would come back truly and fully yours.

CHAPTER 2 - Dying it Red
Getting past the embarrassment of your first day of classes, when everyone would stare at your stained clothes, the next couple of the weeks flew by fairly smooth. You made a few acquaintances in classes, which was enough for group projects and study dates, and found your way around campus with the help of your brothers and your brother’s friends. Your friends now, too. You had lunch with at least one of them every day and stopped by Jin’s cafe almost every morning for a free snack that your brother basically forced into you, using you as a guinea pig for the recipes he was trying. It was alarmingly easy to get into the new routine.
“Then you press this button and wait for the light to turn green.” Alice was helping you out with your laundry, teaching you how to work the machines at the basement of the student's dorms. “Just be careful to be here when the timer is done, otherwise someone might take your clothes out and who would want another person’s hands in their underwear?” She played around when the harsh sound of the washing machine began, letting you know it was doing it’s job.
“Babe?” A male voice called, descending the last steps of the stairs, and you both turned around to face Yoongi with another boy trailing behind.
“Hey Yoongs, we were just finishing here.” Alice smiled warmly at her boyfriend. “Long time no see, Jungkook.” She then turned to the messy haired boy all dressed in black, walking to him and wrapping her hands around his waist. She probably couldn’t reach all the way around his neck, as her hugs usually went, because of how tall the boy was. “This is y/n, the Kim’s baby sister.” She stepped away and signaled to you, and that’s when you realized that this handsome guy in front of you was also the asshole that ruined your otherwise perfect first day.
“We actually met before.” You smiled with your lips tight together, trying to hide your annoyance. “He bumped into me on my first day here.” At that Alice let her mouth hung open, joining the dots in her head but not adding to the conversation.
“Really? I don’t remember you.” The boy looked confused, clearly being genuine on his lack of memory of the accident. Well, how could he remember you when he didn’t even had the decency to turn around and apologize that day. “Nice to meet you, anyway.” He smiled at you but you turned around, pretending to be entertained by the rotation of the washing machine.
Yoongi, sensing the tense atmosphere, wrapped his arm around his girlfriend’s shoulder. “If we don’t leave now we might miss the beginning of the film.”
“Are you coming y/n?” Alice asked.
“Nah, I have to wait for this to be finished and then I might drop by Joonie’s place, but thanks anyway.” Jungkook was already at the stairs again when you finished answering, not bothering to say goodbye at all. Alice noticed it and gave you a sympathetic smile, leaving with Yoongi behind the youngest boy.
“What an idiot.” You let out a sigh and pulled out your phone to text your sibling’s group chat about meeting up later, you might as well enjoy your Friday night with them somehow.
“That's cheating!” Taehyung yelled. “You can’t all team up against me!”
“Sorry Tae, y/n never played before, we’re just helping her out.” Namjoon explained, just as Jin killed Taehyung for the third time in a row.
Jin picked you up and you ended up at the boys' place. Jimin had a date and Hoseok was practicing late, so you and your brothers had the apartment all to yourselves. You ordered pizza and revived the old playstation 2 that was the center of so many fights between the three boys growing up. You were never a tomboy, in a house with so much testosterone, your mother made sure to keep you by her side, dressing you up in girly dresses and gifting you all the dolls you would ask. Don’t get it wrong, you could still beat Taehyung in a play fight any day, and had your fair share of scraped knees and quick trips to the hospital because you were playing a little bit too harsh trying to keep up with your older siblings, but videogames were never really your thing.
“She's fine! You don’t need to help her every time we play something new.” He whined, letting go of the controller to grab another slice of greasy muzzarela pizza. It was true, you were a fast learner and definitely didn’t need your brothers teaming up to help you out.
“But it’s funnier this way.” You stated, taking advantage and killing Taehyung once again when his guard was down because he was shoving the entire pizza into his mouth.
“Hey!” He complained with his mouth full. “That's it, I give up, you guys suck.”
“Don't be such a baby.” Jin shoved Taehyung’s shoulder with his own. “We'll play nice next round.”
“I’m not asking you to play nice, I’m asking you to play fair.” he pouted.
Namjoon patted Tae in the head. “It’s alright, we won’t count this one on the final score.”
“But I still won.” you gloated, finishing off Jin’s character on the game when they were all distracted and standing up to grab another soda from the kitchen.
“I trusted you!” The eldest shouted dramatically and you laughed to yourself, proud of your definitely-not-fair victory.
You brought back drinks for everyone as a way to say sorry, and you all settled, trying to choose another game to play next. Namjoon was distracted by his phone, texting someone non stop. Jin snatched the phone out of the other boy’s hand to read without permission, and both of them started wrestling on the ground for the device.
“Give it back!” Namjoon was on his side with his legs wrapped around Jin’s waist while Jin was laying on the ground, chest down with one of his arms pushing Namjoon’s face away and the other trying to keep the phone as far away as possible. You already knew what would happen next before Taehyung even made the first move to stand up, so you were prepared when the phone flew to your hands, being snatched by Tae from the pile of limbs tangled on the floor and thrown at you before he was pulled into the mess.
You scrolled through the texts in the open conversation and handed the phone back to Namjoon, who had given up and was on the floor, red faced and short of breath.
“It's just a party.” You informed the other two.
“Who’s? Where? When?” Taehyung eagerly wanted to know.
“Some guy named Jackson? I don’t know, it sounds like it’s at a fraternity.” You answered, not really interested and just wanting to go back to the game.
“It’s at Delta Sigma.” Namjoon clarified. “It’s next weekend and it sounds like it’s going to be big, it’s their beginning of the school year party and they’re introducing their new boys to the world, I guess?”
“Oh, we’re definitely going.” Jin stated. “I went to a lot of their parties when Mark was still living there and it’s always legendary. Also, they have the best booze."
Namjoon went through the details while Jin sent a text to the group chat with the rest of your friend group to let them know and soon after everyone -even Yoongi- was in. You chose the next game and the four of you went back to playing and bickering as if you were still teenagers in your home’s living room.
“Can I borrow this earring?” Alice asked you, popping her head into the bathroom where you were doing your make up. You nodded and she disappeared again.
The party began an hour ago, but Yoongi was finishing his shift at the radio and he was your lift there, so the two of you could take your sweet time getting ready to go. The week went by fast and, apart from having to see Jungkook more now that he was settled into his new apartment and finally began hanging out with the rest of the group, you couldn’t complain. He still had no idea why you were always so cold with him, but made no effort to find out either, assuming you were just a little bit closed off. He was also driving there with you, taking advantage of Yoongi’s promise of sobriety and the fact that they lived in the same building, and you had made up your mind that, by the end of the night, you would make him apologize to you for ruining your favorite shirt and the perfect planned first impressions you intended on making on your classmates.
Just as you were finishing applying your lipstick, Alice’s phone rang and she letted you know that Yoongi was waiting downstairs, so you grabbed your phone, handed your keys to your roomate, letting her responsible for it, and walked out the door.
The ride there was quiet, Jungkook ended up going earlier with the rest of the boys and only needed Yoongi as a ride back home later, so you didn’t have to sit through the uncomfortable silence that would've settled if he was on the back sit with you. When you got there you could tell people were already wasted. You spotted Hobi right away, he was chugging down god knows how much beer at once and being cheered on by a group of people around him. Yoongi left to find Namjoon and tell him about some new project and Alice made her way to where the alcohol was with you trailing behind her.
Jimin was there with a group of people, mostly girls and, of course, Jungkook. Alice said hi to them and you waved, not really wanting to introduce yourself to the strangers in the group and specially not very keen on getting another step closer to the boy who spilled his coffee on you and never apologized. Did I mention he never apologized? Because he never did. What an asshole. Jimin handed you a shot and you poured it down your throat without even asking what it was. You were not really a big party person, and the only way to get through it was getting shit faced drunk, and that’s what you were planning on doing.
You spent most of your time dancing with Jimin and Alice, or by the kitchen filling your cup. You bumped into your brothers but honestly, you were not really into the idea of seeing them make out with random people or embarrass you with their drunk dancing, so you kept your distance. You would bump into Jungkook every now and then as well, and Alice had to keep you from going up to him and making a scene. You just wanted him to apologize, really, but you were not sure you could let him know that without calling him a few names you thought suited him much better then ‘Jungkook’ before.
It was just a second that Alice turned around to look for her boyfriend and you were already gone from her sigh. You were a little bit tipsy, sure, but you could get a drink by yourself without your friend constantly by your side. On the way to the kitchen you even had a small conversation with a handsome stranger with light eyes and dreamy lips that you were sure would not have happened if you had Alice with you. You were looking for another beer, just to drown your nerves a little bit and go find that godlike creature again, when you spotted Jungkook. There was a girl standing by your side with a tall red cup filled with god knows what and you didn’t think twice before gabbing it and throwing it. Your aim must have been a little off though, because instead of hitting your target, the splash of alcohol landed on the person beside him, who just happened to be your brother.
“Y/n what the fuck?!” Taehyung turned around to find you frozen in place looking as guilty as ever. The group of people around them took a step back from the mess and Jungkook started laughing hysterically.
“Sorry Tae that wasn’t for you.” The words barely audible over the loud noise of people talking around you. You had no idea what had gotten into you and could feel your face getting warm. “I was aiming at Jungkook.”
At that the other boy stopped his laughter and looked offended at you. “What? Why?”
“Because you should learn some manners, asshole!” You couldn’t hold back you annoyance even though you knew you were overreacting, but the alcohol in your blood took control of your ability to filter your words and you would rather have people think you were red because of anger then because of shame. Taehyung started to laugh then, not really understanding what was happening, but amused seeing you argue with someone that wasn’t him for once.
“What have I ever done to you?” Jungkook was just as confused as your brother.
Before you could answer and give him a little bit of your mind, Alice and Namjoon walked in and found the absolute mess you had made. See, the drink you threw was a dark shade of red, and the kitchen had white tiles and white cabinets all around that were now all tainted a lovely shade of pink, as was your brother’s bleached hair and light clothes.
“Dude what happened?” Namjoon was the first to speak, but Tae just waved him off, finding the situation more funny then anything else. He could get back at you later anyway, and growing up with you gave him the ability to read you better then anyone else, so the act you were putting to sound tough didn’t mean a thing to him and he was enjoying seeing how far you would go to hide you embarrassment.
“Maybe I should take y/n home.” Alice stated, grabbing the empty cup from your hand and leaving it on the counter, as if disarming you of a powerful weapon. She then passed her arm through your waist and led you to the door. You could only follow along, unable to react when you fully realized what just happened.
Finding Yoongi was easy, he was on his way to the kitchen and met you halfway, not needing any explanation before following the both of you to his car. The drive home was silent, apart from some underground rap song playing from Yoongi’s sound system and Alice calling a friend of hers who was at the party to see if they could give Jungkook a ride home later. You laughed to yourself, remembering the boy's face when he realized the target was him, and that alone made it worth it. The fact that you stole his ride back was just a plus to the situation. He was a handsome boy, you couldn’t deny it, so wiping that bunny smile from his face gave you more pleasure than you were able to put into words. You would have stopped there, honestly, but deep down you knew that what took place at the party was just the beginning.
> A/N | It /really/ starts here, I guess. Have a nice day, wherever and whoever you are :)

We sat on the brightly colored carpet of Dr. Sihyuk’s office, while he himself sat on his office swivel chair, turning to talk to all of us in turn.
It was one of our group sessions, where we discussed how being around the people sitting in that room had affected us in between our sessions. It would’ve seemed pretentious and out of sorts but the small jokes the good doctor cracked and the various antics my friends belted out made it funnier and more bearable than a normal session usually was.
I was sitting between Taehyung and Namjoon as the doctor started with Yoongi.
He seemed aloof at first, his tone low and perpetually sassy even as he recounted an incident with Hoseok where he danced and compelled Yoongi to actually sing.
Hoseok was grinning, heart smile aimed cheekily at the older man as Dr. Sihyuk asked him if it made him feel a little more comfortable around music and if he was feeling a little less resentful towards the act.
Yoongi’s ears burned red as he scoffed under his breath.
“I don’t know,” he mumbled, avoiding our gazes as all of our smiles faltered. “But I’m getting there,” he said finally, looking up and fixing his eyes on the therapist.
Hoseok let out a small relieved breath as Sihyuk nodded, checking something on his clipboard.
“You will get there, Yoongi. We all want first class tickets when you make it back big and glorious in the industry, after all.” He soothed.
I saw Yoongi look back down but a shadow of a wistful smile crossed his face, only to vanish when I blinked as the attention went to the next person.
Hoseok’s talk was more about how he was feeling physically better ever since he had started to get the handle of his body better. The effects of the drugs had made him sluggish, slow, and unable to cope with beats that helped him move.
The slow rehabilitation of his own senses was giving him his control back, the mind over his body the first thing he was aiming for.
He raised his hands as if to show a move to us but then smile, looking up at us. “I’ll just give you all a proper show when we get out of here.” he said, his sunshine personality breaking out despite talking about his darker times.
Taehyung and Jimin were still much better, able to pull smiles from our faces as Tae grumbled about the food fight he’d lost the other day to me and Jimin teaming up. I focused on Jimin again, trying to pick out emotions between his features as he murmured about hoping that he’d be able to join us outside and not succumb to his demons again.
His voice was melodious, eyes soft while his willowy face which was still ashy from pills did nothing to hide the fact that he was in pain. My chest ached for him, wanting nothing more but to give him a tight hug so I could put his broken pieces together.
Namjoon reached out, patting his back before Sihyuk turned his attention to him.
“Namjoon, what would you like to share?” he asked.
“Oh,” he started, looking around us all before giving our therapist a helpless glance. “My parents are coming to visit today.” He mumbled.
The air was suddenly tense.
There were things that were forbidden to mention in our circle.
Yoongi’s music, Hoseok’s vulnerability for substance abuse, Namjoon’s parents, Tae’s step dad, Jimin’s reason for being here and for me…Jungkook, they were topics which we handled with great care. It was a mark of how close we’d gotten and the extent of our healing that we were in one room talking about things that had rendered us so weak.
Namjoon’s parents being here was almost always a cause for concern.
I had only seen them once, in a picture album Namjoon had shown us. It was less of a family album than more of a show of opulence. His parents were classy, polished people with strict standards and no mind for incompetence or weak mindedness.
That’s what they hadn’t wanted in a son and that’s what they had gotten in Namjoon.
His affinity towards the arts had made his business leaning parents disgusted and that in turn made Namjoon determined to escape, no matter how many he times he was recognized and dumped back to his parents for their money.
Sending him here had been the ultimate way to cut him off from music but the influence Yoongi and Namjoon had on each other definitely proved that they had failed.
If they saw that their son wasn’t willing to bend to their will, it wouldn’t end well for him.
Sihyuk fixed Namjoon with his beady eyes, trying to get a read on him and if he was comfortable enough to face his parents. Even I reached out a hand to him, feeling his take it, twining our fingers.
It was a familiar action, one that gave us both a feeling of peace of being able to provide someone close to us a sense of security.
He squeezed my fingers once before letting it go and shot me a smile before looking at the doctor, who was eyeing him curiously.
“I’ll meet them.”
Tumblr media
“I’ll meet them.”
I looked up from my book to see Jungkook standing in the doorway, looking bedraggled and uncertain. I frowned, putting the book down and scooting to the edge of his spacious couch. It was the norm for me to spend almost all my time in Jungkook’s own apartment rather than at my own place. it helped us both because we could have our own privacy and he had someone to look out for him when he got lost in his own world, be it for gaming or his music.
For the last week, he’d been working on a particular album that he said would give him a break if he managed to have it heard at one of the music houses in the city. He’d been at it nonstop and perpetually stressed. It didn’t help that the directors had asked him to meet up with them for a preliminary listening. No, he wanted to impress in the usual Jeon Jungkook style. He refused to hand over anything other than a complete album.
It had gotten so bad that I’d had to move in until further notice just to take care of him, taking his main bedroom while he stayed cooped up in the camp bed he had in his office.
“You’re doing me the favor, so it’s obvious you need to take the bed. I’ll just be in my office.” He’d said but I’d checked in on him too many times to know he wasn’t actually using the bed. He’d propped it against the wall and was snoring his head off at his desk, one arm slung over his head and the other hanging off the arm of his chair.
“Kookie,” I’d whined, startling him awake as he spat out a jumbled sentence of cognition. I’d wrapped an arm around his waist, hoisting his half asleep and exhausted frame up and tugging him to his warm and comfortable bed, dumping him into the fleecy mattress.
He’d bounced on it unceremoniously, all his bulk weighed down as I’d tucked him in before getting in behind him myself, fishing out a throw blanket to wrap around myself.
Of course, in the morning, I’d found myself sharing the same blanket as him, tree trunk arms wrapped around me with his head tucked in my back as he drooled.
I’d told him to handle in the album that day, watching his face fall immediately at the idea.
“I have it, Y/N. it’s almost done.” He whispered as he sat guiltily in his bed, a tray of coffee and sandwiches in his lap as I glared severely.
“You’re running yourself down, Jungkook. You’re not sleeping, you’re not eating and if I have to lug your big butt to bed again I swear to god.” I began and he rolled his eyes. “I do not have a big butt.” He mumbled under his bed, making me smack his arm.
“Just…you’re exhausted, Kook. Give them the damn tracks. You don’t have to work yourself to the bone.” I whispered. He’d chewed on the sandwiches, quietly; no indication if he’d even heard me.
Now though, Jungkook stood nervously in front of me, hands curving around each other as he bit his full bottom lip and eyed me.
“That’s great, Kook. Did they give you a time?” I asked.
“Tomorrow noon, I have to give them the tracks and they’ll listen to them and tell me how I did.” He said.
“Fantastic, I’ll drive you.” I said.
“No, no, you don’t have to do that. I’ve worn you out too, you should just sleep and I’ll bring take out back on my way.” He said.
“Don’t be dumb. Of course I’m coming with you. You’ll likely drink too much coffee and run up your car or something.” I said, smiling and holding my hands out to him to take.
He smiled back before his eyes glittered.
“Do you want to hear them?” he asked, a trickle of excitement seeping in his tone.
“Lead the way, maestro.”
“So, Y/N, I saw you carrying your diary around…are you finding it easier to talk about…things?” he asked.
“Um, yeah…I think I am. I mean, I still remember him, of him…” I stopped, swallowing and Jungkook’s dark floppy hair, bunny smile and twitching nose filled my vision.
“There are so many things that remind me of him,” I whispered. I smiled and looked at my small knit group. “They make it easier.” I said.
I caught Namjoon glance down into his hands with a soft smile tugging on his lips as Taehyung flopped dramatically in my lap.
“We’re here for you, Y/N. we’re your own new best friend.” He sighed before mimicking passing out.
Even Yoongi gave me a supportive smile as he smacked Taehyung’s feet.
Tumblr media
Dr. Sihyuk soon excused Namjoon to go his meeting with his parents while Taehyung and Yoongi left to go sit in the common room, their sessions over for the day. Hoseok was called for a private substance abuse therapist and with a bland smile; he left too, leaving Jimin and me to sit awkwardly in front of Dr. Sihyuk.
“Do you have anything scheduled for today?” he asked.
Both of us shook our heads.
“Good, I wanted to talk to the two of you alone for a while. Jimin if you would wait in the office for a minute?” he said and Jimin dutifully stood up, passing through the room like a shadow. “So, Y/N is there anything that you want to discuss first?” he asked, prodding gently.
I glanced at the way Jimin had gone once before looking down.
“Um, I don’t know what you mean. I mean, I’m feeling better.” I mumbled. He leant forward.
“I see, would you say that this has something to do with your group? I know that people in your situation tend to…shift feelings of depending onto others when a particular source of comfort is…hmm, absent.” He settled for the term with a bite of his lip.
I shrugged.
“I guess I do see…Jungkook – in them. That’s why I got so close to them so fast, you know. I feel like there is a part of him in all of them. Yoongi’s protectiveness, Hoseok’s jokes, Jimin’s quietness, Taehyung’s playfulness and Namjoon’s care…these are all things that Jungkook had. They might not be him exactly but I do like them for the people they are.” I insisted.
Dr. Sihyuk smiled.
“Well at least you admit it…it will be easier for you once you leave here. I am hoping that when you do, so will the other boys but if they don’t…” he sighed and suddenly it seemed as if he’d aged.
“They don’t deserve to be cooped up here,” he mumbled before clearing his throat.
“I have been working with them for a while now and I am happy that they can leave whenever they want to but the problem of finding people you can depend on is exactly that – you start being dependent on that person.”
I nodded slowly, catching his drift and he nodded, straightening up.
“I think that will be all. Please send Jimin in,” he said and I got up hurriedly, rushing out to find Jimin already standing up, a small smile playing on his face.
“That bad, huh?” he asked.
“No, it was ok. Go on, I’ll wait here for you.” I said.
“You don’t have to -,”
“Go Jiminie.” I shoved him inside and closed the door before leaning next to the door to wait.
I closed my eyes and leant my head back against the wall to think back on what Dr. Sihyuk had told me about depending on others for your own happiness. Was that what was wrong with me? I had been too dependent on Jungkook but when he was gone…I had no one to make me feel happy? I scoffed in bitterness.
Jungkook was my best friend. Of course, he made me happy. Losing had caused half of my heart to wither away and turn to dust. I was still not accepting of the fact that I was never going to see him smile again, except for maybe pictures, I would never hear him sing for me, play for me, give me piggybacks, go for ice cream, dance, nothing…it was all gone.
I didn’t realize that Jimin was already done with his session until I heard the door open and he slipped out, his normally chalky expression if possible even softer and sadder before he blinked big dark eyes – so reminiscent of Jungkook at me.
“You’re crying,” he whispered.
I brushed my hand over my eyes, surprised to see that indeed, small trickles of wetness had leaked out the corners of my eyes, travelling down to my cheeks. I smiled reassuringly at the boy.
“It’s nothing, I was just thinking of some things.” I said.
He stood there, undecided before nodding, head ducking down to hide his own eyes and I frowned when I saw his hands quivering as if he wanted to scratch at something. He turned and began to walk off and I hurried after him.
“Jimin…” I reached forward to grasp at his hand and he jolted, coming to a pause as if he’d just realized I was with him. “Are you ok?” I asked.
Before he could stutter out a response, a door flung open and a woman strutted out, her head held high and fingers clutching at her purse in a way that screamed that she didn’t belong here.
We paused as the woman sniffed, her aquiline nose twitching as if she smelt something disgusting and turned to the man who had followed her out, clearly her husband as he was wearing a matching suit to her dress, his own more somber expression cast down.
“I don’t know what to do with you, I really don’t.” she said, loud voice echoing down to where Jimin and I stood as I saw horrified, Namjoon exiting the room as well. He was wearing his glasses again but they looked too big on his pinched face as he slumped in on his own body, trying to appear as small as he could in front of the stare of his parents.
“We did everything for you. Birthed you, fed you, warmed you and gave you everything you could ever need, or ask for and what do we get in return? You’re always running from us? Or the fact that You picking that damn tinkling on that piano and computer thing than work…? What are you going to gain in life Namjoon? We thought sending you here was going to straighten you out but if it’s not then just…just stay here!” the woman snapped at her son, heels clacking as she backed away, scorn on her face from her only son as her husband tried to shush her, already having spotted us gazing at them wide eyed.
Even Namjoon caught us standing there, eyes landing on his father to see if he’d defend his son but when nothing came from the man he sniffled. Immediately his mother scoffed. “Oh please, stop with your crocodile tears Namjoon, you’re a grown man for god’s sake.” She spat before turning away from both men, walking away before she looked up and saw us.
Her eyes trailed over us, disdainful before she rolled her eyes at our less than pearly appearances, shoving between us. I saw Namjoon’s father shake his head at something Namjoon mumbled and then he followed his wife, not even looking at us.
There was silence for a while.
“Hyung,” Jimin called but by the time I looked around, Namjoon was already gone.
Tumblr media
The sky soon darkened with the onset of dusk, small twinkles of stars lighting the broad deep blue expanse, visible through the minimum amount of light pollution.
Hoseok, who’d returned from his session looking less than bubbly walked along side me as we took a late walk around the garden, following a path of lantern like light posts along the walkway. His neck was tilted down; face pensive as I told him about what Jimin and I had witnessed in the afternoon.
“You should’ve seen his face, Hobi. He looked like he was crying.” I muttered.
“Namjoon always cries when it comes to his parents…and I don’t blame him. If they were my family I’d cry too…or run away from home.” He said, eyes fixed on his shoes.
“How can parents be so cruel to their own son?”
“I guess it’s about the control. Some people are like that. They like having control over their surroundings; be it people or just things. They start viewing people as things too. Especially if they’re their own kids…they see it as some sort of morbid ownership.”
“It’s sickening.”
“That’s one word for it.” Hoseok said.
He stopped under one light before sighing, a hand coming up to rub against his haggard face. “It’s getting late. You should get inside.” He said.
I nodded, starting to walk back when I looked around at him. “What about you?” I asked.
He started, looking at me guiltily. “I’ll be right there. I just need…I’ll take one more round. Now go or else Yoongi will come looking for you.” he said, a wry smile splitting his face and I chuckled, imagining Yoongi’s small face, reddening with outrage as he snarled about having been the one to get scolded if his group members went out of line.
“See you inside?” I asked finally.
He nodded before shoving his hands back in his pockets, walking off again as I retreated my steps.
Just as Hoseok had said, Yoongi was the only one up in the common room, his feet tapping out a beat as he waited for us to come back.
“Well, one of you is back.” he said, eyes rolling and I smiled. “Yeah, sorry, did the others go to bed already?” I asked. He nodded, stretching his arms over his head.
“I had to kick Taehyung out because he ‘wanted to wait for Hobi Hyung’” he imitated the younger boy. “Where is he?” he asked.
“Taking one more round…I think he needs to clear his head.” I mused. There was a pause as Yoongi lowered his hooded eyes.
“I can understand. Anyway, the head matron told me to tell you to get cleaned up and go to bed as soon as you came in. you better go before she comes to check on you like your grandmother.” He said.
I nodded, a yawn escaping me which had Yoongi smirking but I didn’t give him the satisfaction of retaliating before I was exiting the room, going to retrieve my toiletries and going to the communal sink room to get ready for bed.
As I inspected my bare face in the mirror, brush rotating mechanically in my mouth I thought about the events of the day. Namjoon’s crumpled face, Jimin’s feverish hands, Hoseok’s exhausted form…they all swirled in my brain.
I’m hoping they can live their lives better.
I recalled wishing that for them once to Dr. Sihyuk and sighed, switching off the lights to go to bed.
It wasn’t until I was back in my own bed till I realized I’d left my toiletries on the sink counter. I groaned, face burying into the pillow as I contemplated going for them. If I didn’t, I might get a scolding or have them stolen and I didn’t have any new ones.
I huffed in annoyance at myself, putting on slippers and slipping out of my room, glancing around to see if any of the patrollers were around. The coast being clear, I quickly began to tip toe towards the washroom.
The sterile, white tiles froze the under of my feet as I tried to sneak into the bathroom. The lights were on still, the sounds of a few dripping taps echoing around me as I looked at the sink I’d used to see if my small bag of bathroom supplies was still there.
Thankfully, the clear baggie was still on the counter where I’d left it, my toothbrush visible through the gap between the zippers.
Moving quickly to it, I grasped the sling handle around it, slipping it over my wrist as I swung it towards me in relief. Now I wouldn’t be scolded or have to go ask the head nurse for a new set of toilet things.
The haze of worry over my belongings gone, I stopped, focus shifting on to other things…like why the light was on and why I could hear a steady stream of water from one of the inside bathing areas.
I hesitated, my bare toes curling in apprehension as I contemplated if I should be inching forward to investigate why someone had kept a tap running. It was too late for someone to take a bath or clean.
Slow trickles of fear teased at the edge of my mind as I reached the partition. Taking a deep breath, I took a quick peak around the corner.
The look was too quick to see anything properly but I saw the small tiled bathtub in one of the section overflowing, a steady flow of water gushing out of the copper tap on it head. Sighing, I walked in and then stopped, eyes widening in horror and shock when I caught what I’d missed earlier.
Feet hung from the edge of the tub, a body completely submerged in the depths of the waters as the water continued to hit the surface, distorting the view of the face but I already knew who it was.
“Jimin!” I screamed, panic erupting from my throat as I lunged forward, slipping on the water a little as I hurriedly shut off the water, my shaky fingers spinning the tight tap the other way as the jet of water slowed the stopped, letting me see my friend.
Jimin’s eyes were closed, head resting against the floor of the bath tub as his hands lay peacefully on his stomach as if he hadn’t even tried to fight for breath. His mouth was parted a little, small bubbles coming out from them as the remaining air in his lungs escaped him. “No, no, no,” I muttered feverishly, dunking my arms in to try and pull out the boy.
It wasn’t easy. Jimin’s body weighed down; with the way I could find no traction in raising him up to break him away from the water’s surface.
“Help! Please! Someone help us!” I screamed over my shoulder as loudly as I could, praying someone – anyone – could hear me.
Returning my attention to Jimin I gave a mighty tug to his head, finally managing to tug his head over the water level, enough to get his mouth and nose out so he could breathe.
If he can even breathe
I snapped out of the terrifying thought as I entered the tub myself, the freezing water chilling me to my bones as I leant him against me trying to hold him up while I tried to settle his feet into the tub so I could pull him up.
“Jimin, Jimin, come on, please, breathe,” I shouted, wrapping my body around his frozen one, rubbing at his wrist to get blood circulation going.
“Oh my god, please help!” I screamed one more time before I heard the slapping of bare feet running across the tiles.
Tumblr media
The next moment, Namjoon was crashing around the corner, glasses askew on the edge of his nose; eyes puffy and mouth wide open as he stared at the scene before him.
“Y/N, what the fuck!” He yelled, the expletive falling out of his lips when he saw the younger boy cradled against me.
“Help, Namjoon, help!” I said, desperately and Namjoon rushed forward, his own arms dunking deep into the water. His stronger arms grasped Jimin’s legs and he swiftly lifted him out of the tub, laying him out against the side, hands coming back to pull me out as we crashed next to the passed out boy.
“Is…he…?” Namjoon stuttered.
I bent my head to clutch Jimin’s face close to mine. “I don’t know…I don’t know, get someone! We need an ambulance!” I shook the boy even as Namjoon stood there, shivering and gaping.
“Go!” I yelled and he startled to life, falling back before he too was shouting out for help as he ran out.
I clung to Jimin as I shook, hot tears springing to my eyes.
“No, please, not you, not you too!” I whispered against Jimin’s cold cheek as I cried against him.
“Y/N, they’re calling an ambulance, Dr. Sihyuk and the head nurse are coming. Yoongi told no one to come in…hey, are you alright?”
I felt hands grip my shoulders before I was being yanked to the side but I stayed put, unable to unwrap myself from around Jimin. “Hey, let him go, we need to get him on his back.” I heard from far away as another, much more stronger arm finally managed to pull me away.
I heard a raspy voice muttering comforting words in my ears as Taehyung tucked me against his chest, uncaring of the way I was soaking him too but I heard nothing, a white noise filling my ears, ringing through my head as my eyes blurred.
I was suddenly back in my hospital bed, Dr. Jin’s painfully familiar dark head and white coat brushing against me as he told me that my best friend had died in the car crash that I’d caused.
It had been my fault then…
Was this my fault too? I’d seen Jimin today; saw the now disturbingly obvious cues. The feverish shaking of his hands, the way he wanted to scratch at himself…the wide, lost eyes that didn’t seem to see anything.
my vision tunneled, breathing stuttered as sounds started coming from far, far away.
“Hyung, hyung! I think she’s having a panic attack! She’s shaking!” I heard someone shout before I was slumping to the cold floor, loud pants frothing from my mouth.

Pairing: Yoongi X Reader
Summary: After a lot of convincing, you spend the night at the dorm with all the boys and let’s just say their Agust D is a little different from your Yoongles.
Parts: One
Genre: Fluff, kinda crack
Warnings: Tiny innuendo is used; barely there, you’ll need a magnifying glass to see it
Notes: I had too much fun writing this // sorry for making the maknae line seem like brats // kinda old
All in all, it was Hoseok who was to take full credit for the relationship that had blossomed between you and Yoongi. You had been friends with him from the moment he moved into your neighbourhood at the tender age of 7. You had been inseparable from the word go, growing up rather close. So when he joined BTS, you were the first to know, the first to congratulate and the first to shed a few tears of shear pride. He admitted that the day he debuted was the softest he'd seen you. But now that had changed.
Equally, Hoseok and Yoongi hit it off the bat and you begun spending time with both of them, comfortable with Hoseok's sense of home and the new and unexplored grounds that were Min Yoongi. That ended quite quickly, however, and in no time flat, you knew everything about each other.
It took a while, but you eventually started dating without any of the members finding out, save Hoseok, who was told as soon as it happened. Which worked well for sometime, until your visits at the dorm began to stretch and one day, when the members had planned a movie and full night out - leaving you and Yoongi with your own movie and full night IN -, you had fell asleep together on the couch, in a position too affectionate to call it anything other than couple-like.
The penny dropped when the door was unlocked. A very drunk Tae had made no effort being quiet, stumbling in first, quickly followed by the maknae and Jimin, egging him on equally, if not louder, than the drunk male only to be hushed by Seokjin who was scowling heavily at their hyped up behaviour at such late hours. Namjoon was also drunk but was being guided inside the dorm by Hobi while giving him a very detailed description of his theory as to what was the meaning of life.
Being closed off in the living room meant neither of you had heard the ruckus, so neither of you had reacted quickly enough to the attack and all 6 members walked in on your prematurely ended date night.
Taehyung had actually screamed at the sight, making you jump and wake Yoongi up in the process. You were almost certain you had seen Jungkook and Jimin hold their breath when Yoongi was awaken but dropped their jaws when he only blinked in response.
Namjoon started uncontrollably laughing at the tense atmosphere and Hoseok left the room, done with babysitting for the night - and with all the members.
Yoongi didn't get teased about it- no one would dare try it. That being said, no one would try you either, except maybe Hoseok but that was because he had grown accustomed to your empty threats and laughed them off.
So that was bound to be it, right? Everyone assumed - or knew - that when you two were on your own, affection was a must. Although, it was pretty prominent in public, too. You were with the band quite often. Movie nights were a weekly event and celebration dinners were a certified invitation. The casual arm-around-shoulder or the holding of hands and maybe even a stray or peck when there was less attention on you.
Today was a celebration dinner, provided by Seokjin and in the dorm that was to be followed by "a sleepover" that was arranged by the maknaes. You were gonna let them down easy and make up some excuse as to why you couldn't attend. But, across the room, you saw a certain male raising an eyebrow. To anyone outside looking in, it would look he was questioning if the group would be receiving your presence, but you could see his eyes pleading with yours. Clearly, he was having similar thoughts, except he had to attend. You caved rather quickly, almost as soon as his irises began begging with yours.
In preparation for this, Seokjin had demanded that everyone assisted him in the tedious task that was shopping. You wondered what was going through his head when he dragged all eight of you the convenience store closest to the dorm. He claimed he needed "help".
He had lead the way and handed out orders surprisingly well, but it wasn't enough. Having them all in one public place was loud; it wasn't long before everyone in the store had stolen a glance at the oversized group that consisted of a determined Seokjin, a stressed out Namjoon along, 3 child-like adults that were receiving rather dangerous glares from Hoseok and then Yoongi, who had his arm snaked around your waist, bringing up the rear.
Your mind had been wandering when your eyes caught on a brightly coloured animal in the corner. Furrowing your eyebrows, you tugged at Yoongi's sleeve to cease his movements and to pull him along with you to get a closer look.
It was a bright orange tiger onesie with striking black stripes, a tail and complete with a hoodie that sported the same stripes and little ears. It was so soft you would have mistaken it for a cloud and it was undeniably adorable. You reached out to grab it and held it in your arms before looking up at Yoongi, half expecting a cringe and half expecting laughter. There wasn't laughter, but there was, however a cute smile that melted you from the inside.
"Babe, I'm getting it," you stated and began checking the price tag. "Hey, hey!" He protested, waving his hands around. You turned to face him with an eyebrow raised. "You forgetting anything?" Confusion painted your face as you stared at him blankly. "Me. I want one too" he mimicked your tone and started digging around.
You peeked over his shoulder but he actively blocked everything from your sight. "Ah-ha!" He grinned and pulled out the onesie with a flourish. It was dark green but still extremely vivid. It had soft red bumps decorating the back and the hood also sported the scarlet bumps, making it very clear that it was-
"A dinosaur. What do you think, Jagi?"
"I think we're getting these;  like right now,"you yanked him towards the cashier, retrieving a bag so that the others wouldn't see what they had bought.
Just as you were about to finish the payment, a strained "Yoongi-hyung!" rang through the store, and it sounded an awful lot like Jimin. He groaned under his breath but followed the source nonetheless. Turning a corner, there he was, desperately trying to stop the bubblegum machine that wouldn't stop vomiting the colourful dots of candy that trickled to the floor and behind product shelves. ------------------------- "I- I barely touched it!" He had defended when they were all reaching the dorm once again. Namjoon rolled his eyes but didn't comment whereas Seokjin started ranting about it for the third time today. So the shopping trip had been a flop; but you and Yoongi were still pretty content with the outcome.
All in all, Seokjin still had the groceries he intended to obtain to satisfy the needs of the group and began working on it right away. The others where in the living room, debating over what film to watch and what games to play. You could see that get ridiculously heated ridiculously soon.
They soon disbanded and changed into lazy, comfortable clothes, leaving the living room one by one, coming back with no make up and mostly baggy outfits.
You two had been sitting on the couch, pulled close with your legs over his thighs, back leaning against the armrest. He nudged you and jerked his head in the direction of his room to change. You nodded and moved to get up, both of you slipping out, unfortunately noticed. You heard giggling from the living room and rolled your eyes.
You both rapidly changed. You turned to face him, huge smile upon your features. He laughed at the sight. "You make a pretty cute tiger" he said, cupping your cheeks and pecking your lips. You smiled but slapped his hands away. "Well, I wanna see how cute of a dinosaur you make so go get changed".
He did make a cute dinosaur. He made a freaking adorable dinosaur, big and green and cuddly. He saw your look and purposely waddled over to you. In response, you pulled the hood over his messy white-blonde hair and wrapped your arms around his neck unable to control yourself. He looked too loveable. He yanked your hood on as well, way past your eyes. "Asshole" you mumbled and he flashed you a grin. "But I'm a cute asshole."
You lightly punched his arm and moved to leave the room, but he laced his hand with yours so you walked out together.
The boys were sitting in a circle with a table full of food in the middle but the attention was dragged to the two of you rather soon.
"That was quick," giggled Tae and since his back was facing you, he didn't see. He slowly turned around and opened his mouth.
"I swear to God if you scream, Kim Taehyung" groaned Hoseok next to him.
He closed his mouth and swallowed his yell. "Looking great" he choked out.
"Well, here we see Yoongi-hyung's gone soft" said Jungkook smugly in the background receiving a killer glare from said hyung.
By now, you were part of the circle, but that in no way meant the tormenting was over. Jimin burst out laughing next, again, gaining himself a look as sharp as a dagger in return. "I'm sorry, I can't take your threats seriously anymore-" he barely strung together a sentence with all the laughing he was producing and wiped a tear away from the corner of his eye.
You rolled your eyes because you knew as soon as you stepped outside the dorm, they would all be in for a hell of a storm. He let your hand go for a second before resting it on your waist and pulling you closer the way he always did.
When everyone started eating and speaking amongst themselves, you felt his breath tickle you ear. "Don't listen to them, we look great. And scary. Tigers and dinosaurs are scary" he said, putting on a certain tone of voice that made his statement a whole lot funnier. You chucked lightly and rested your head against his shoulder.
You had to admit- these onesie were as comfy as they looked. It was also comfortable lying on your boyfriend, but that was beside the point.
Namjoon hummed in order to get attention from Seokjin. "This is really good," he said, jabbing a dumpling with his chopstick. "Usually I don't eat them because they're too soft" he commented casually.
"Not as soft as Yoongi and (Y/N)~" sang Taehyung from next to you. That was a mistake because you pushed him roughly with your leg and he toppled over with a shriek, spilling his soup all down his top. "Fuck off" was your blunt response to his unnecessary comment.
Everyone on the table tried and failed to suppress their laughter, especially after Tae rose from his sodden spot on the floor to change his clothes, grumbling and probably cursing you out. Inwardly, of course.
You didn't even look up from your noodles, acting as if you had no idea what the big deal was.
Finally, Hobi spoke up. "I get that you're all very shocked and whatnot, but I've known her since I was 7 years old and I've never seen her so soft." He stated, smile erupting from his face.
"Okay but matching onesies. I was not expecting that one. Like at all." Exclaimed the maknae from the corner of the room again.
"But they're cute" admitted Jimin. Now Tae was back and clearly he had learned very little from his lesson. "That. That right there is the issue. Min Yoongi doesn't do 'cute'"
"Do you have a damn death wish?" Roared Yoongi from next to you. ------------------------- Not a moment too soon, dinner was over and everyone was huddled in front of the TV watching a cheesy comedy with jokes so bad they were actually funny. You were back in the same position, back against the armrest and legs draped over Yoongi's thighs, your hand holding his on your lap. On the other side of the sofa was a very tired, almost asleep Namjoon with swollen eye bags and droopy lids. On the other sofa was Seokjin and Taehyung, leaned against each other comfortably, more invested in their conversation that in the movie. Lastly, leaning against the largest sofa, was Jimin, Hoseok and Jungkook- in that order, both younger males leaning on Hoseok's shoulders but wide awake whereas he was already asleep.
The atmosphere was very relaxed. The clean, light living room was now dark, TV screen illuminating the room with a soft blue glow. Your eyes didn't begin to feel heavy until Yoongi used his trick - hair playing.
Twirling strands of your short hair between his long fingers drained you of any energy obtained during the day. You fell asleep first, closely followed by Yoongi as his hand stilled against your head.
Seokjin nudged Taehyung in the direction of the sleeping couple, looking like the cuddliest beings on earth. "We joke about it, but they're perfect for each other" and Taehyung nodded with a light eye roll. He knew it was true.
Namjoon laughed quietly at the sight before sleep hit him as hard as it had hit you two. Jungkook looked at your sleeping figures and sighed. "I shipped them from day one, you know" which resulted in Jimin reaching across his sleeping hyung and slapping Jungkook's arm. "Shut up. I'm just jealous I didn't get a onesie"
"Hey, guys, onesie sleepover next time"

prompt: You accidentally challenge your boyfriend to a Halloween-themed pun-off
Tumblr media
What do you think of when you hear the word Halloween?
Most people would probably say some variation of the same thing: costumes, pumpkins, candy, or alcohol. They were the main staples of the fright-filled holiday after all, so those answers were only to be expected. It was a wild time of busy preparations as people decided what they wanted to dress up as for the unique day of the year where they could be almost anything. Orange and black decorations lined the streets while local businesses set up jack-o-lanterns in their window displays. Special Halloween-edition candy filled the shelves of almost every single store. And well, what better occasion to drink than on a night when you were pretending to be someone else? However, with that being said, that was simply what most people thought of. It wasn’t everyone, and that was due to the fact that people like your boyfriend existed.
What did Kim Seokjin think of when he heard the word Halloween? —Puns. He thought of it as a glorious opportunity for ample amounts of puns.
Which was probably why he was currently slipping into one of those black body suits with a skeleton printed on top of it as his costume for tonight’s festivities. In the mirror you could practically see the jokes already resting on his tongue, his lips curved into a satisfied smile as he pulled the zipper up his side. You could only watch in amusement as you finished applying a line of red party paint down the corner of your mouth to simulate the fake-blood of your vampire costume. You were both pretty simple when it came to dressing up. Whatever was the cheapest really. But those also tended to be the costumes that were the most pun-friendly, so Jin certainly didn’t mind.
Once you were finally done with your vampire make-up, you walked over to flop down onto your shared bed while Jin rummaged through a few drawers. The two of you were going to a party that one of your friends from across town was throwing. It wasn’t that late yet, so there was still some time to hang around before calling an Uber.
“Ready for the boos?” You asked, a cheeky smile lining your lips as he turned around and began walking towards the bed, cologne in hand.
He gasped, dramatically. “Boo-jokes, baby? Really? How can you be dating the king of puns and still make boo jokes for Halloween?” He feigned concern as he joined you on the bed, stretching out to show the full design of his skeleton costume.
“I was just teasing. I have way better jokes than that. Plus, did you say king? Pft, please,” You laughed, but Jin simply raised a curious brow at the playful jab.
“Questioning my title, huh?” He asked, shifting closer to you on the bed. “Okay, Miss Vamp, let’s see what you got.”
You scoffed, “You’re not seriously challenging me to a pun-off right now?”
“We got time. Come on, you’ll get to hear all of my jokes before everyone else at the party.”
“Oh wow, lucky me,” You replied, sarcastically. Jin simply narrowed his eyes in response, and you couldn’t help but chuckle. “Hey, hey, you know I’m just kidding. But seriously don’t complain when I beat you.”
“Oh, we got a cocky one here, huh?” He smirked.
“Gotta be to deal with your ass,” You said, smirking right back.
“Wow, I love you too,” He whispered with a wide smile that reached his eyes as well.
“Okay, enough chit-chat,” You said after a few moments. “Where’re the puns?”
“Ladies first,” He motioned. “Give me your best shot.”
That was the point when you suddenly remembered that you weren’t at all well-versed in puns in the same way that you were with talking shit. Your mind drawing a complete blank as Jin continued to stare back at you waiting for a response.
“Uhm…”
“Uhm? Oh wow, is that hesitance I hear coming from those beautiful ruby red lips?” He looked smug, propped up on one elbow, waiting for your answer.
You huffed out in annoyance. Okay, you knew one joke. Even if it was a lame joke, at least you had tried.
“What do you get when you cross a vampire and a snowman?” You were already smiling at the ridiculousness of it.
“What?” He asked, genuinely curious.
You bit your lip, laughter catching onto the word as it left your mouth. “Frostbite.”
“Oh my god,” He said, laughing as he face-palmed. “Out of every vampire joke, you chose that one.”
“What’s wrong with it!? I think it’s pretty funny,” You replied, still with traces of giggling lacing your voice.
“It was… It was something alright. Wanna hear a real vampire pun?”
You rolled your eyes, because you already knew it was going to be funnier than yours, and it would without a doubt make you laugh. “Fine.”
“Okay,” He started, clapping his hands together in excitement. “Why couldn’t Dracula’s wife get to sleep?”
“Why?”
“Because of his coffin. Boom — zing!”
“Jesus Christ,” You muttered in your fit of laughter, and you weren’t even laughing because you thought the joke was that funny, it was because Jin himself thought the joke was that funny.
“So who’s the king of puns?” He asked after a couple of seconds, holding his hand mockingly up to his ear.
Your eye twitched, but you didn’t mind participating in his ego boost every once in a while, so you let him have it without much resistance. “Kim Seokjin. Happy?”
“Beyond, and like I would totally make a skeleton joke right now, but I don’t think you’d find it very humerus.”
You mouth dropped, because again it was just ridiculous. But you knew that was just one of the many reasons that you loved him.
“I’m leaving,” You said as you pretended to start getting off the bed, but Jin quickly grabbed hold of your arm keeping you in front of him.
“Sorry, babe, you can’t skele-run from my skele-puns.”
You finally just let yourself crack up completely because it was sort of borderline impossible not to do so when you were dating someone like Jin. “Okay, I get it you’re a skeleton. We good with the puns, now?” You said, wiping a bit of a tear from the corner of your eye.
“But you don’t even know my favorite fruit yet?”
“Don’t—”
“Bone-ana — hah!”
You shook your head in disbelief, and Jin simply smiled back at you, clearly happy with the reaction and laughs that he had gotten from you. “You’re crazy,” You whispered before suddenly leaning forward and pressing your lips against his for a brief moment. You felt his hand come up to cup the side of your jaw before you both pulled away. When you did you smiled fondly at the way some of your lipstick had smeared against his mouth. It was silent, just for a short second, with the two of you grinning at one another with adoration casting itself around your bones. It was a nice moment, a perfectly lovely moment—
“Wow, getting kissed by a vampire is really a pain in the neck.”
You scoffed, and Jin sputtered violently in delight at his joke.
“Okay, I’m actually leaving,” You said as you jumped off of the bed, half-jogging your way to the living room.
However, you couldn’t help but let that smile that only he seemingly knew how to get to, grow even more as echoes of “No, you can’t leave me. You’re my ghoulfriend,” bounced down the hallway after you.
