Bumblebee (beeping): They were training me. Turning me into a weapon. For justice they said. They got their weapon, I got cheated out of my childhood.
Ultra Magnus: I know what that's like.
Bumblebee: You too, don't you?
Headcanon time.
Sometimes Bee gets very sad because he never had a time in his life where he wouldn't be afraid of death. He was born during the war and since then he didn't have what others did. Bee never saw Cybertron in all its glory and only sometimes heard some stories from Ratchet and Bulkhead about how great their home was. His life is in constant danger and he gets tired of it. Bee never got the chance to live peacefully. All of his life is a war.
Ultra Magnus has a bit different problem. He saw Cybertron, he was there. And he even was a high class, being a military bot. Yet he also never had the chance to live peacefully. From the moment he came out of the allspark he was assigned to the battalion, trained. Yes, everyone respected him, but for the cost of little to no weekends off, no time on yourself and constant battles. When the war came, caste system fell, yet it didn't help UM. Now he was fighting for the death and was responsable for thousands lifes. Half of his life is a war.
It's just, I feel like they both are child soldiers, who never had the idea of what it's like to live normally. So when Raf or Miko ask them about some childhood memories, Bee and UM would have the least pleasant answers.
But! Optimus prime and other Autobots really tried to give Bee something normal. Like, playing some Cybertronian games, reading some tales and ect. Bee really appreciated that.

That was a long ask so I'm making this into a separate post! I really love this idea so I hope I did it justice!
Miko being scared that she's not treating her S/O right
Reader here is gender neutral
Cw: mentions of manipulation, possessiveness
She's often awfully aware of her manipulation. Almost like everything is a game to her, especially human emotions she just loves toying with.
Knowing about it, there was one question that invaded her mind. She didn't know the answer but she didn't think she even wanted to know it.
Is your love any different? She's amused whenever she gets a strong reaction form you. She always tries to trick you into spending some extra time together... Well mostly its just excuses and you don't always use them but that's still something.
She always thought that having someone wrapped around her finger was fun... But the idea of you not wanting to spend time with her out of your free will was something that terrified her.
Because eventually opening your eyes and leaving her at that point would just be a matter of time.
She wanted to apologize. She wanted to promise she'll do better... But it'd only speed up the process of you realizing the mistreatment. On the other hand pretending like she's doing nothing wrong would be even worse.
So she tried to ask vaguely "Do I make you happy Y/N?" there was a tint of guilt in her voice, something you've never heard from her before.
"What's this about?" you decide to not go around the topic. It didn't make Miko falter though "Just wondering if I'm treating you right. I do often lie to get what I want after all" her honesty was something that surprised her more than it did you "Does that make me bad? Undeserving of you even?"
"If you're worrying about it, then you aren't a bad person. Bad people don't care about this kind of thing" you bluntly answer "Besides I see through your lies. We've been together for quite some time" adding that made Miko feel like she's the one getting teased for once.
She only chuckled "Of course you do" feeling like she feel for you once again. Perhaps she was wrong, maybe you were the one who had her wrapped around your finger all along?

What if TFP Autobot Starscream (who helped Miko), bonds with Arcee over their lost loved ones... ❤️ Star talks about losing Skywarp, Thundercracker + Skyfire... Arcee talks about losing Tailgate + Cliffjumper... Star is both horrified and filled with guilt, when he learns Cliff was Arcee’s BFF...💔 (Autobots don’t know that Star destroyed Cliffjumper...)
Wow… I think if Arcee ever finds out the truth it could be really dangerous for Starscream ^^; … I feel it's going to be between cute and super sad (TvT)… Thanks for your request sweety anon ^^! Besides, it's funny, but I wrote a somewhat similar scene in my story "The Polar Star" X), the difference is that Skyfire is alive, and Arcee already knows the cause of Cliff's death.
~~~
Arcee was in the medical bay with Ratchet, after a mission during which they came across Airachnid. The Autobots were lucky to have Starscream with them, as he was quite responsive, and saved the warrior from dying at the hands of the Triple-changer.
The motorcycle was not looking at Optimus, while the latter was quite disappointed with her behavior. Arcee put herself in great danger, and the mission could have gone horribly wrong. The doctor continued to repair the injuries of the motorcycle, and said:
“You should thank Starscream, it's thanks to him that you're still alive."
The Seeker watched all this from afar, and decided to move closer, not really looking for a thank you, but wanting to make one thing clear.
"I hope next time you don't have the same stupid idea like running right into your enemy!
- Mind what concerns you! the warrior got a little annoyed.
- It concerns us all! Because of you, we almost failed this mission!
- You really only think about the mission, huh?!
- Of course! What exactly do you think about when you go into battle?!
- …!
- The principle is to don't die, Arcee! So why are you going into it?!
- Stop arguing! Ratchet growled. Arcee you thank him and we move on!
- … Before that, I would like to know what got into her!
- Starscream, don't insist.
- No, I want to know if I should expect an event like this again or if it was exceptional!
- It's not the first time… admitted Bulkhead in the distance.
- Bulkhead! Arcee was indignant.
- I think he better know. It really surprised him you know.
- No wonder, since he follows orders like a little Turbofox!
-…?!! Pardon?!!! Starscream get angry.
- If Optimus ordered you not to move, you would! You're so afraid of not satisfying that you forget your own dignity!
- And you?! You think you're have dignity when you answering Airachnid's taunts?!
- …!
- You are predictable for her! She knows how to piss you off! I don't know what she did to you exactly, but it would be nice if it didn't make you forget your team!
- As if you knew what teamwork was!
- Well, apparently I know it better than you!"
The Autobots and the children watched their confrontation from afar, unsure how to intervene. The two robots continued their argument, and Arcee cried out:
"OK! You wanna know the fragging reason?!
- Well yeah! replied the jet.
- She murdered one of my friends in front of me! She deserves to die!
- So you're doing this for revenge?!
- I want to do Tailgate justice!
- Is it really worth losing your life?!
- What do you know anyway?! You never loved anyone but yourself! You can't understand ! You don't know what it's like to lose someone you love!"
Starscream's wings flew up in indignation, and he angrily replied:
"Shut up! You don't know me! Frag!!"
Everyone looked at the Seeker with surprise, while the latter had the wings high with rage, and the body tense. The jet looked away, a mixture of shame and anger crossing his face. He clenched his fists, and quickly turned his back on Arcee, rushing for the elevator to the roof of the base.
~
Starscream was on the edge of the roof, and really wanted one thing, and it was to sink into a hole, or else become invisible… He wanted to disappear, to flee… he didn't want to see the Autobots again… it was too much shame… What a stupid reaction! Why did Arcee's words hurt him so much?! What did he get out of getting upset like that?! It was useless... really useless...
The Seeker lifted his wings in spite of himself when he heard the elevator door open, but he didn't turn to see who it was. He really didn't want to see anyone, so he preferred to ignore them. Was it too hard to leave him alone for five seconds?!
"Hey, Starscream." said Arcee.
The jet clutched his wings behind his back, and scowled at the warrior's voice. He did not look at her, and replied curtly:
"Don't you have other people you want to be mean to?!
- The one who is currently mean is you!
- …”
The motorcycle sighed slightly, and scratched her head, before declaring:
“I came to apologize.
- Is it on your own initiative, or did you "stupidly" listen to an order from Optimus.
- Actually, it was from Ratchet."
Starscream finally decided to look at Arcee, who continued:
“But he's right, what I said wasn't nice. I can see that upset you.
- Not necessarily…
- So what are you doing there, sulking on the roof?
- Maybe I didn't like how you surrounded me so well!"
The warrior could hear the sarcasm in the Seeker's voice, and she stepped forward before sitting down next to him. The jet grunted a bit nastily and moved, which upset the bike.
"I don't have Rust! Arcee exclaimed.
- You're too close."
The warrior raised her optics, telling herself that Starscream really had a serious problem. She wasn't that close!
“I haven't heard a single excuse yet." finally said the Seeker.
The motorcycle sighed with a smile, and answered:
"No, it's true.
- What are you waiting for then?
- How impatient you are!
- It's my trademark!
- I wonder what your friends could think of it!
- …I never had any friends…
- …”
There was a silence, before Arcee spoke again.
"Liar."
The jet said nothing, and no longer looked at the warrior, returning his gaze to the desert horizon in front of them. The motorcycle did the same, and sighed softly, before declaring:
“I had a great friend at the time, his name was Tailgate.
- The one that Airachnid killed?
- … Yeah…
- How was he?
- Hm?
- Well, he was a good friend…?
- Very…"
Arcee said nothing more, talking about it seeming to be quite difficult for her. Starscream looked back at the warrior, he hesitated and flapped his wings, then said:
"You're right, I lied to you...
- About?
- My friends…
- Where are they now?"
The Seeker didn't answer, but his drooping wings spoke for him. The motorcycle made no remark, until she smiled:
“Tailgate loved to joke, even though he was really lame at jokes.
- Ha! Surely he would have gotten along well with Skywarp! Even if his thing was more pranks!
- Who is Skywarp?
- He was a member of my trine. He wasn't very smart, not to say completely stupid sometimes.
- Hey! That's not very nice for him!
- But what?! It's true! He always managed to put himself in the some scraps, you always wonder how!
- It's your it's your doppelgangere in this case! laughed Arcee.
- I won't allow you! the jet indignantly smiled.
- Birds of a feather flock together as they say!
- Oh no! The difference is that when he found himself in scrap he always managed to get out of it!"
It was then that Starscream quickly lost his smile, and he lowered his head, before adding weakly:
"Until he couldn't find a way to do it…
- It's a bit the same for Tailgate…” sympathized the warrior with sadness.
There was a bittersweet silence, and the motorcycle asked:
"And the other member of your trine, what's his name?
- His name was Thundercraker.
- How was he?
- … Big?
- But no ! In character!
- I said it! Big! He thought big! Always looking far into the future, as far as he could!"
The Seeker had the optics shining with love when he spoke of his trine, as if they were still alive, despite the fact that he spoke of them as the distant past. But that look was quickly dulling, as the realization of their disappearance always came back eventually… The jet sighed with sorrow, and shook his head, before saying:
"I'm bothering you with my stories...
- Not especially… "
The flyer gave Arcee a grateful look, before looking at the horizon again. The warrior swung her legs above the void, before saying:
"I'm sorry I said you didn't love anyone… I realize how wrong I was…
- … You weren't totally wrong…
- …?
- … Before I met TC and Warp, I was friends with another robot…
- Who was called?
- His name was Skyfire…
- …
- He died before the war, and I was so sad, that I had decided never to love anyone again… Until I met my Trine… but, again, it was a huge mistake…
- …I can understand how you feel…"
Saying those words Arcee turned to a rooftop burial, which the Seeker hadn't actually seen when he came up. The warrior smiled sadly, before losing it completely, then declaring:
"After Tailgate, I swore to myself that I would never have a partner again... I didn't want to lose anyone again..."
It wasn't long before the jet saw the horn on the grave, and his Spark froze in his chest, as he realized who it was!
"It's... the flyer stammered.
- Yes, it's Cliff…
- …
- He's the one who allowed me to reconnect after Tailgate… He helped me all along…! But... I ended up losing him too...
- You… you loved him…?
- He was my best friend… Maybe even more…
- …
- The Decepticons killed him…! Like they killed Tailgate!
- …This is war, Arcee…
- They treated him like a test subject…!
- …”
Starscream didn't know what to answer, as a multitude of devastating emotions lacerated his Spark. Finally, he found the words to say, that came out on their own:
"I'm sorry…
- Why are you apologizing?
- Well… uh…
- You're not a Decepticon anymore, Starscream.
- …
- It's not your fault.
- …”
The Seeker wanted to admit it, to say it was really his fault, to confess his crime… But, no matter how hard he tried, nothing came out… His selfish wish that they had a possible friendship was stronger than the truth… Arcee got up, and put a comforting hand on the shoulder of the jet, before saying:
“Again, I'm sorry for what I said. I'm waiting for you downstairs, the others are worried, you know?"
She ends up walking away, not even giving the flyer time to answer. Starscream eventually found himself alone on the roof, at least, not totally alone, as Cliffjumper's grave was still there, seeming to tower over him in its shadow.
The Seeker rose in his turn, and advanced hesitantly towards the tomb. He never quite got to look at it, even when he found himself face to face with it. The jet lowered his wings, not knowing himself what they were trying to express, as far too complex emotions raced through him. Starscream finally had the strength to speak, and asked in a voice broken with grief:
"Say…? do you really think i belong somewhere…?"
But, of course, to this question, he received no other answer than silence…
tfp au electric Boogaloo!
This is a sequel to this post I did back in 2022 because I have some new ideas and just cause i felt like it.
First and foremost miko gets herself a partner in crime fighting, a former mercenary by the name of lurk inspired by her work to take justice in his own hands leading to them crossing paths. Needless to say it took awhile for her to warm up to him but eventually a new friendship was born, miko likes having someone to watch her back after all.
Their duo soon turns into a trio when they find themselves saving a former decepticon medic from the djd. She's intense and more than a little mad but she and all three get on like a house fire so the pair are happy to accept a new member in their little family. Then they get another member, a former sniper. Then another, an anxious scientist. Then another, a brawler from the Pitts of kaon turned mechanic. Another, a petty thief. Until their little family isn't so little anymore and "the wanderer" is frequently filled with the sounds of life and chatter.
Speaking of miko's beloved ship over time the vessel has been Changed to reflect its captain, danm near every wall is covered in murals and paintings some reflecting mikos new home, others the one she left behind. Plant life and pollinators fill the lower deck and sometimes miko can almost imagine she's still on earth when she tending to them.
The crew knows of their leaders organic nature. Some were told, some learned of it by accident, others were just bored but all of them accepted her regardless. They like knowing where she comes from and where she goes during her "supply runs." (A girl needs soap ok. Plus while she's learned to cook she stills needs stuff to cook with and she refuses to go vegan so stocking up like she's going into hibernation it is. Luckily she knows where her parents like to keep their credit cards.) The team protects her secrets with the ferocity of junkyard dogs, lurk in particular will gladly stare down the unwavering if it meant protecting his captain.
Speaking of which miko has no idea how she's pulling off this whole leader thing but given how loyal her crew is she thinks she's doing pretty good. She mostly just trusts her instincts and pairs it with whatever she thinks optimus or ultra magnus would do which means she has somehow become the mom of the team, no she doesn't know how that happened either but she's not complaining.
Kaguya-sama 278 spoilers - Ishigami Yu and Iino Miko's final chapter
Tumblr media
tfw you didn't really want to be right
well folks, leak spoilers out for Ishigami and Miko's final chapter and it really was...A LOVE WAR OPEN ENDING.
I quote me and my big mouth:
"If we do get an open ending, it’ll be at least in the vein of a call back to Miyuki and Kaguya in the first chapter: a war of love and brains between Vice-president Ishigami and President Miko to make the other confess. Not gonna lie, this is the sort of ending manga usually have. Not ideal, but if it is the intended one…we’ll cry, but we’ll manage!"
Tumblr media
I never really tried writing meta post 246 because it felt like Aka was definitely still toying with what he wanted out of it and was keeping Ishigami's thoughts private, and clearly whatever it was, he choose to drop it and not develop it. He casually pretended the sutera and all his other flags can be dealt with later and pushed it aside with a hint for the future. Ishigami ain't even getting his haircut yet and still has his shield in place, just like Miko has become president but that did not fully solve her arc, thus hair still in pigtails.
Rather than mad I feel like a weight was lifted off my shoulders, because turns out I did have a good idea of who they are and like the Ishigami and Miko I saw, they were just shafted by the narrative. And no matter if Aka got cold feet, it doesn't negate he has written them with passion in the past.
So I don't regret my involvement with them at all! I met incredible people through this fandom and got reactions on my art beyond what I thought I was capable of, so I won't forget Ishi and Miko. I'll keep trying to do them justice because they are really neat and do deserve it. Maybe I can actually get skilled enough for a short comic or doujin someday.
AKA YOU GOTTA BE BRAVER MY DUDE. Better luck next time, but I sure won't touch another series of his until it's already over.
Hi! If you don't mind, could I request Ei/Sara/Yae with an s/o who likes petting their head?
Them with a reader that likes petting their heads
characters: Ei/Kujou Sara/Yae Miko x gn!reader(seperate)
warnings: english isn't my first language, so there might be some mistakes
genre: fluff
a/n: I see, requesting all three electro women from Inazuma aren't we? But I'm not here to judge, especially since I (also) love the three of them.
I hope I could do your request justice. If you don't like the way I wrote one of them, please say so and I'll try again as soon as possible.
Anyway, hope you enjoy!
Ei
Every time you pet her head you were feeling abnormally nervous. And who could blame you? That was the head of a literal god and ruler of Inazuma you were touching. But Ei didn’t understand your nervousness at all, she simply assumed that what you did was as normal to humans as hugging a friend or loved one.
“Are you feeling well? Your face is completely red”, Ei asked innocently as she worriedly inspected your face. Her choosing to mention your very obvious blush didn’t exactly help you get rid of it.
“I’m fine, it’s just a little bit embarrassing”, you answered, knowing full well that the only one that had any right to feel embarrassed was the one which head was getting petted.
“Embarrassing? Isn’t this something normal for you humans?”, she still didn’t seem to understand that the problem lied with you and who she was rather with your humanity.
“There still seems to be a lot I have to learn about humans, but what you do feels pleasant, so please continue”, she changed the subject before closing her eyes and leaning against you.
Kujou Sara
The first time you petted her head was without even realising. You two were sitting on your shared bed, talking about nothing in particular, when Sara slowly stopped talking. At first you thought she simply wanted to listen to you and started going on a longer rant only to stop in the middle of it when you finally realised that you were petting her head.
“I’m sorry, that was... weird”, you apologized after quickly taking your hand from Sara’s head. While you awkwardly waited for a reply, she remained silent, glancing to the side with a barely visible blush on her face.
“It’s fine. You may continue, if it helps you to relax”, she said with the voice, she usually used to talk while on campaign. That coupled with her tenseness made it obvious that you weren’t the only one feeling a little bit embarrassed.
Now it was your turn to remain silent. Questioning if it was really okay to continue, only to be brought back from your thoughts by Sara placing your hand on her head. You quickly caught on to her signal and petting her head in comfortable silence became a common occurrence between the two of you.
Yae Miko
You knew Miko for long enough to rightfully fear teasing you if she found out that you would love petting her head. Which she, when you finally decided to bite the bullet and told her while lying in bed, totally did. But once the dust has settled the two of you had found a nice way to relax in bed.
“With which animal are foxed more related, dogs or cats?”, Miko asked you a question completely out of the blue. You had nearly fallen asleep already, so even though the question itself wasn’t too difficult, it took your brain a couple of seconds to not answer wrong.
“If I recall correctly, dogs”, you answered hesitantly.
“Correct. You can consider yourself lucky that it’s like that, since otherwise I probably would attack you if you petted me on the wrong spot”, you had no idea where she was going to, but you could already tell that it probably would embarrass you.
“But just like humans best friend, foxes also like belly rubs”, before you could respond, she had already placed your hand on her belly, causing you blush instantly. And once she turned her head around and saw your red face, she couldn’t, or rather wouldn’t, hide her amusement.
Ngl I slandered Ei for a while now because of her waifufication but at the same time I was waiting for a redemption arc, and damn did they deliver.
That quest was just 👌
And the Ei and Miko banter at the end? Absolutely adorable 10/10 love the dynamic
Honestly, I get why people might’ve disliked her first quest - on the surface it seems very fan-service-y - but not going to lie, I adored it.
It’ll have to go under the cut because I go into spoilers about the quest/lore and rant so much I could talk about Ei and her brilliance for hours it’s not even funny, like can you tell she’s one of my favorite characters??
Tumblr media
I felt so bad for Ei throughout the quest, just taking her around and seeing her reaction - I mean, definitely they played up for the whole “naive waifu” narrative but it was also so sad to see, unlike the other two archons who - albeit having different amounts of involvement as archons - were able to interact and live in their respective nations, you can say what you want about Venti and Zhongli but they definitely knew and were up to date with things happening in Mondstatd and Liyue respectively.
Ei, on the other hand, had no idea - she adores Inazuma with her whole heart but decided to neglect it in hopes of making her people happy and to fulfill what she believed was their dream, seeing her experience Dango Milk and read silly novels and see how shocked she was at the progress she had once been so fearful of felt sad (if not just pitiful), it was such a stark contrast to Makoto and how involved she was with the daily lives of Inazuma’s residents (she’s implied to have been out and about in Inazuma and interacting with her people);Ei saw her worth restricted by her ability as a fighter, not a ruler. She was naive and stubborn and it took her 500 years of solitude, a failed decree, the death of her sister and closest friends to experience her own region, her own nature and the her deceased sister’s life’s work, for the first time and she was shocked and, most importantly, regretful for her actions. The end of her quest had me so excited to see what they’d do with her, the implications of a fight between her and Raiden and the clear regret she held for her actions were so interesting and it showed a clear difference between herself (the Ei who has experienced Inazuma) and Raiden.
The second quest kind of solidified these feelings for me about Ei and made an already tragic and well-written story so much more amazing to me, it honestly did her and Makoto so much justice… Her actions always stood out; her distaste for her gnosis yet her fear of the Heavenly Principals, the reasoning behind the creation of Raiden Shogun, those questions kept me hooked through her first and second archon quest and honestly I adore the direction they seem to be heading towards for her </3
And her relationship with Yae Miko is so precious, they care about each other so much - Yae’s lines about entrusting “her God” onto the traveler’s hands and her absolute shyness when Paimon and the traveler try brining it up >_< The way until this point, Yae has been the bridge between Ei and Inazuma and finally is able to spend time with Ei, even if she says she’s only doing her job as her familiar, it’s clear Yae and Ei care about each other deeply; I’m literally in love with them and their relationship.
Inazuma friendship headcanons with Diluc??? (from the diluc and ei ask)
I actually have head canons for Diluc and people from every nation. I did think about doing a Liyue relationship chart then a Inazuma one. But I don't have the time but anyway.
Tumblr media
Kazuha and Diluc
These two would be kind of along the vein of Diluc and Albedo. They don't really talk but get along wonderfully well. They don't need to say anything to understand each other.
The Kamisato Siblings and Diluc
Both would get along with Diluc. Ayato and Diluc would bond over being duty-bound. I can see them together at official parties, being the two that actually get long and making fun of really annoying officials at the parts. Now Ayaka and DIluc. Diluc would always want a little sister. And I think Ayaka would see the similarities between Diluc and Ayato. And really, I can see Diluc becoming an unofficial third sibling.
Thoma and Diluc
I'm on the childhood friendship train. And I think even that's part of what drew Thoma to Ayato was similarities to Diluc. But Thoma understands Diluc better than most anyone. And around Thoma, Diluc feels freer to express himself. And drop a lot of his masking habits. Thoma is a certified Diluc translator and can often tell what Diluc wants by how Diluc will pinch Thoma's sleeve.
Kokomi and Diluc
Neurodivergents united. They both love talking to each other about birds and fish. Diluc loves Kokomi's energy system and might maybe have taken some tips about avoiding burnout from her. And Kokomi loves Diluc's strategies as he never leaves room for error without writing whole-ass books. He has confidence in his plans, and Kokomi tries and brings up things that might happen. Diluc is just looking at her and smiles, pats her head, and is just, "That won't happen. And sometimes the best plans come when you are on your feet."
Gorou and Diluc
I think again, with Diluc and Kokomi getting along, Gorou would also get along with Diluc. And you know Diluc is also really good with animals. So you know, but I think Diluc would still see Gorou as a person who can make his own choice and deserves respect. Which is feeling a lot of people don't give Gorou and just see him as a puppy boy!
Itto and Diluc
Ditto baby. Honestly, this relationship would be so funny to me. Shipping or not. Itto would defiantly be the kind of guy who would take care of Diluc whether he likes it or not. And I know Diluc used to get into his own trouble, so being with Itto would remind him of this youth. And he defiantly feels a lot safe opening up to Itto.
Sara and Diluc
Diluc probably can control Itto's energetic nature. And Sara will always respect Diluc for that. Also, for his hardworking nature and strong sense of justice. I think they wouldn't really be friends, but they both have a lot of respect for each other. (With Aunty Ei, though. Sara is an accidentally big sis lolol)
Sayu and Diluc
For some reason, I see them being like this. And that's all I got
Yae Miko and Diluc
I can 100% see Yae Miko making another Miss Hina out of Diluc. Especially since Diluc already kind of has some feminine features. I could also see them having a deal where Diluc helps run a gossip column because of his info-gathering skills. And he uses it to push his own agendas, and Yae Miko knows and accepts it because he gives her good honest info, and Miss Dawn, the mysterious foreign lady with the hottest gossip and foreign news, is pretty popular. With Aunty Ei, Diluc probably saw her most like a fox, and it took him forever to realize Miko and the little fox are the same person.
Yoimiya and Diluc
Yoimiya loves talking, and Diluc loves listening to her. I can definitely see her becoming another little sister and helping her with her pyro vision. And sometimes Yoimiya will ask Diluc about his travels, and he's actually a pretty good storyteller and gives her great ideas for new fireworks. She's been trying to make a special one for him that's just like his phoenix but hasn't managed it yet.
Please write the second-to-last prompt!
*cough* I’ll put this one under a ‘read more’ because it’s a tad too long. And involves nakedness- and we all know how tumblr feels about that. M rated with no actual naughty business.
“it’s because i’m so attractive isn’t it?” “i say this. and i cannot stress this enough. i find you completely repulsive.”
---
Sesshoumaru arched a brow, torn between amusement, befuddlement, indignation, flattery and satisfaction.
It was a confusing mix.
Kagome stared up at him, cheeks stained crimson and hands planted on her hips. It was not the appropriate expression for one asking another for a favour.
Thin lips parted, before his mouth clicked shut. He blinked once, tipping his head to the side.
“You wish to…”
“Draw you,” she confirmed stiffly.
“Naked.”
“It’s called ‘Life Drawing’ and I need it for my college class. You’d...really be helping me out, okay?”
Sesshoumaru hummed, gaze sweeping over her critically. He’d never seen one of her pictures, and wondered if her skills could do him justice. “And you chose this one to be your subject?” he arched a brow, confidence radiating off him in waves. “It is because I am so attractive, is it not?”
Kagome made a noise, bursting into a laugh and waving this off. “I say this, and I cannot stress this enough; I find you completely repulsive.”
The teasing dance of her eyes told him she was joking. He huffed, finding the mere idea ludicious. None could find him repulsive.
“Look the reason I’m asking you is because it would be awkward with anyone else. I’m not dating anyone- and Inuyasha is out on account of him being my ex. Miroku is married. You’re the only available person who is kinda, sorta my friend. My last resort is asking a random villager if they’ll strip for me,” she sighed. “I’ve sat in on classes, I’ve tried using books for reference poses- but nothing works! My teacher always says they come off as stiff looking and the uh...the…”
Sesshoumaru watched her steadily turn redder, unblinking.
Kagome glanced around the empty hillside with paranoia, whispering the next part; “the penis…” she blushed, seeming to die inside, “always looks...uh...inaccurate, apparently.”
Mirth coloured his blank, guarded expression. He glanced at her waiting bag beside the tree. “Show me.”
“What?! No! No one will ever see those sketches! Ever! I’m gonna burn them!”
The Daiyoukai glanced away, arranging his features into something haughty and disinterested. “Then you will not sketch my body.”
Kagome gaped, groaning and burying her crimson face in her hands. “Urgh!”
To be fair to her skills; the men in her sketches held fairly accurate physiques. Nice bone structure; and a softness about their faces and dark shading that portrayed a moody tone, longing for something he couldn’t name. She’d even captured hands and feet remarkably well, something he knew most artists struggled with.
But then, inevitably, golden eyes strayed downward from their torsos.
“A-are they bad?” Kagome peered over his shoulder as Sesshoumaru sat, perusing her sketchbook.
He closed the book with a sharp noise of finality. “This is grave indeed.”
“I knew it,” she whined, wallowing in sadness.
Sesshoumaru’s nose twitched as he stood, passing the sketchbook back to her. “...You may capture my likeness.”
Her breath hitched, and relief immediately swamped her features. “I- thank you,” Kagome breathed, easing closer to him. “Thank you so much!”
“Hn,” inwardly preening and thinking that all beings should thank him for the generous sight of his naked form, Sesshoumaru set the date for their ‘meeting,’ inviting her to the Western Stronghold in two days' time.
---
They greeted each other easily enough on the actual day, Kagome being let into his private chambers with many a raised brow from his servants.
Sesshoumaru slid the door shut to conceal their ‘activity’ away from prying eyes, though he had no shame in his bare form. Merely, he sensed the miko’s nervousness and did not wish her concentration to be broken.
After stripping easily enough, shedding the finery of his clothes, Sesshoumaru stopped before her seated position at a respectable distance.
“Where do you want me?”
Kagome made a strangled noise, having looked up from her sketchbook. Blue eyes immediately locked onto the area between his thighs.
“Uh-! I um-” she stammered, attention flitting around the room like she were following a game of ping pong. “Standing is fine!” Kagome squeaked, turning scarlet as she motioned with her hand, “m-maybe just b-backup a little.”
Nodding primly, Sesshoumaru concealed his smirk, stepping away and waiting as her embarrassment slowly abated. Her bright gaze running over lithe, pale muscles couldn’t quite hide her curiosity; her hunger. Kagome pursed full lips and sketched a standing pose, before instructing him to instead sit down upon his bed of furs and busy himself with something. Sesshoumaru decided to read.
Keen, pointed ears caught every glide and sharp drag of lead on paper- every indrawn breath and hiss through clenched teeth.
After a little while, she sighed.
“You keep avoiding it,” Sesshoumaru hazarded a guess.
“I totally do,” Kagome groaned, staring miserably at the sketches, “right now you’re sexless. There’s a blank space where genitals are supposed to go.”
Golden eyes flitted up to her. “You are too tense. Come here.”
“W-what?”
“The bed is comfortable,” he clarified, tone becoming flat and business-like as he minded some silver hair back over one broad shoulder. “I refuse to be drawn inaccurately.”
Nodding, she swallowed and gathered her things, awkwardly padding over. A plume of repressed desire followed her like a cloud of smog. Clearly she was trying to remain professional and judging by the guilt mingling with it; felt ashamed by any natural reaction to his person.
Naked bodies were not inherently sexual things. They were just...bodies. But he felt no annoyance with Kagome for her attraction. Quite the contrary. She’d been acting like this for months with a cycle of repression. This ‘study’ had been a golden opportunity.
Kagome sat before him and took a long breath, forcing herself to look at his lap.
His cock twitched.
Making a thin noise, she blushed and directed her gaze firmly to the paper, scribbling away furiously.
Sesshoumaru’s fangs caressed his bottom lip in a sensual brush, sighing. A spike of his own arousal had more obvious effects on his person. He couldn’t conceal it like her- and Kagome’s intense attention only had him hardening quicker.
“Ah-” Kagome gaped, losing her voice. She cleared her throat, staring. Unbidden, she wet her lips, blue eyes flitting up to meet dark, golden hues steadily dyeing passionate red. “We- we can stop...until it goes back to normal?” she suggested thinly.
“Did you not require extensive research on this particular part of me, miko?” he purred silkily. “Perhaps sketching it in various states would be to your advantage.”
“I-I guess that’s true,” Kagome swallowed, shyly glancing at it and then meeting his gaze again. “Maybe…”
“Maybe?”
“I could…”
Sesshoumaru leaned closer, the cool air feeling too keen on his heated skin. Her breathy voice made goosebumps rise over pale flesh. “Yes?” he asked in a hushed tone.
Kagome looked at him again, silently seeking consent. Barely imagining it was possible he could reciprocate. But she did not know; had not come to learn the patience that wild, predatory beasts possessed. He’d bided his time so long his waiting looked like indifference on the outside.
Taking a short, quick drawn breath, Kagome bridged the distance between them. She learned the full scope of Sesshoumaru’s anatomy intimately well that night- and continued her studies for many nights after.
---
The feedback Kagome gained back from her life drawing was ‘good use of shading and muscle definition, an impressive level of detail. Improvement on discussed anatomy - but a tad too unrealistic in size.’
Bud I’m sorry to swing into your inbox uninvited like this but my soul is having an OOTS renaissance thanks to your content in the tag and did you say Leverage AU
haha holy SHIT this got Long. but yes. i’ve been. Thinking. (also literally Never feel like you have to apologize for sending me messages. i was Hoping someone would ask me about this. now i have an Excuse to share EVERYTHING ive written abt it :3)
Obviously, Roy is the leader/brains of the outfit. He grew up having some Strong Opinions abt what’s Legal versus what’s Right due to tragic backstory involving the death of his little brother which was definitely SOMEONE’S fault for negligence but since there technically wasn’t any illegal behavior, there were no consequences for it. Also he’s still angry at his dad bc he thinks his dad is also partly culpable (and also also just a dick). He’s the Moral Backbone of the team (alongside Durkon, more on that later) in basically the same way Nate was in og Leverage. He’s actually not the best at figuring out what people want (that’s Haley and, shockingly, occasionally Elan), but once he has that info, he is the absolute best at figuring out the ideal plan of attack to use in any given case.
Haley is still a thief. I mean she maps to Parker almost PERFECTLY. Her dad was a thief & a conman, her mom wasn’t but knew about it and mostly accepted it, but she died tragically in a mugging gone wrong or smth, which made Ian crank the paranoia WAY up and taught Haley to do the same in the name of “safety”. Let’s keep the “Ian is in Trouble and Haley needs money, Fast” which is why she signs on to the first job in the first place. She’s less acrobatic than Parker, tending towards finding (or making) weak spots in security, but she can still make a tumble check when she needs to.
Elan is the grifter who is somehow an Idiot but also not???? It baffles everyone. When he’s playing a part for a con, he’s FLAWLESS, but then the rest of the time he’s just. No Thoughts Head Empty. He probably gets lured in initially because he’s decided to try his hand at being part of a full team, rather than the two-man cons he’s been running that invariably end w his partner conning him as well and stealing half of his take. Also he likes the idea of being Crime Friends. He’s that tweet where it’s like, Roy: “after the heist is over, we split up and never communicate again” / Elan: [about to unveil his Crime Buddies Forever Friendship Quilt Puppets]: “never?”
Vaarsuvius is the hacker/gadget person. They have a Vaguely Snobby Yet Unidentifiable accent, dyed(?) purple hair (nobody has ever seen their roots) and nobody knows who they “really” are or where they came from, but they’re good at what they do so everyone just accepts the mystery. They probably got suckered into the team by their initial employer (who I’ll get to Eventually, lol) framing it as a challenge to their intellect, like, “oh, I see, you’re not smart enough to make this team work for you...” to which they were like Fucking Watch Me and also melted his computer. Anyways. They are joined (digitally) by their Intrepid Friend And Co-Conspirator (his words, not theirs), a fellow hacker known only as Blackwing, or, on certain forums, Blackwing_Bird. (In the first season, V only occasionally references him when saying they’re “calling in extra help” or smth for a particularly complex hack job. He starts showing up a little more in s2 and eventually by the start of s4 is a regular & established presence, but only appears as actions in a computer interface or output.) Elan is convinced he’s an AI, Belkar doesn’t think he actually exists, Haley pretends she doesn’t think he exists, and Durkon and Roy try not to think about it too hard, as long as B and V still get the job done.
Belkar is the hitter. He is on the team bc their initial employer got him out of jail for it. He doesn’t have a tragic backstory, he just likes doing violent crimes. As the series progresses, he grows some empathy & stuff, but really only for people who actually deserve it. Assholes still get decked. It’s all very touching. (Also he has dwarfism caused by achondroplasia. It doesn’t actually bother him and is useful in fights bc his opponents frequently have no fucking clue how to approach him, but he likes Pretending to take offense at stupid things just to see how far he can go with it.)
Aaaand last but not least, Durkon is the least involved member of the team. He’s actually a career criminal and Roy’s mentor, and wasn’t a member of the initial team that [redacted, I’ll tell you later, PROMISE] put together for a couple of reasons, the main one being that he’s Officially retired in order to spend more time with his family, which consists of his mom, his friend (not girlfriend) Hilgya, baby Kudzu, and a truly stunning number of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Roy frequently calls or visits him for advice and he Occasionally shows up to help out on local jobs, but generally he avoids doing crime if he can (as part of a deal with Hilgya, who is also a career criminal; basically, they’ve both cut back on the crime in order to provide a more stable home environment for Kudzu. But sometimes, you gotta do a little crime, and in those cases, Sigdi enjoys spending time w her grandson.)
NOW. THE BIG REVEAL YOU’VE BEEN WAITING FOR. Who got the team together in the first place?!
The answer: Lord Shojo (or whatever Normal Person Name you want to assign him). Now this is where it gets tricky: he had them do a thing that they thought was good, THEN they thought it was BAD, but then when they confronted him he revealed that it Appearing to be bad was actually a test of character and would they consider working as basically internal investigators for him? But then he had a heart attack, so, rip. But THEN it turned out that he’d left them a bunch of money anyway and they were all feeling kind of Inspired so they formed the Order of the Stick, LLC (which, no, i am not coming up with a new name, actually, because I just don’t care. someone else can come up w a justification for that name, tho, i’m sure it’s possible). Also Miko was there and was unhappy abt their actions, and also their general existence.
Moving on. Villains!
Redcloak is the Sterling replacement, because that DEEPLY amuses me.
Xykon is a season-long main villain, probably one that Redcloak finds himself working for but then “teams up with” (read: blackmails) the Order to bring him down bc even Redcloak finds Xykon distasteful. That’s season 3, let’s say.
Tarquin is another season villain, say season 2. Nale probably shows up pretty early in s1, actually, as another recurring antagonist like Sterling but uh. Less good at it. Anyways the s2 final 3 eps deal with them (accidentally) discovering that Tarquin runs some Evil Empire Company, then trying to outplay him and take him down. Idk if Nale still dies in this version tbh.
Tsukiko is a one-off s1 villain who returns briefly in s4 alongside Miko, who has gone well and truly off the rails.
Season 1 finale has to do w Roy finally getting Vengeance for his little brother.
The vampire squad is the s4 finale villain who do smth terrible to Durkon and then get the Mother Of All Revenge served up to them by the Order.
I envision the show as being 5 seasons (like og Leverage) but I’m not going to sketch out s5 because I think it should be based off whatever happens in the current story arc, possibly involving some legacy of the OotSquiggle.
Other stuff!
The Order of the Squiggle is a legendary criminal team from the 60s who stole a BUNCH of famous shit & then proceeded to legendarily implode. This has no bearing on the plot Ive sketched out, I just think it’s fun.
The Sapphire Guard members should probably be reworked as FBI. I don’t care about most of them but I do think that Lien and O-Chul could be like, FBI agents who Choose to look the other way while the Order does their very-much-not-legal-but-still-fair Justice Crime, and maybe even help them out on occasion.
So, the Final season-by-season outline, based on everything I’ve written so far:
s1 e1: getting the team together, doing a con for Shojo, then at the end he dies and the gang is like “dang what now?" and intend to split up except then they Don’t.
mid-s1: Nale shows up and tries to trick the Order, but then gets beat like a drum.
late s1: Tsukiko is an underling of the Villain Of The Week, winds up in police custody. But She’ll Be Back.
s1 finale: Roy’s Vengeance: The Vengeaning. also we meet Redcloak as an antagonist.
s2 e1: the truth abt Haley’s father comes out
early s2: The Two Live Crews Job but it’s the Order vs the Linear Guild and the Linear Guild ARE all bad guys.
mid-s2: Redcloak returns. ugh.
late s2: the sapphire guard FBI makes its first appearance, hello O-Chul and Lien.
s2 pre-finale: once again they’re in conflict w Nale over smth, he spends the whole episodes making Cryptic Remarks, they basically beat him (like a drum!) but then the stinger at the end is that Tarquin reveals himself and Elan is like “Dad?!”, roll credits.
s2 finale, part 1: Elan is hanging out w Tarquin bc he’s DEEP in Denial, the Rest of the team tries to take Tarquin down, but it doesn’t work.
s2 finale, part 2: Elan finally gets a clue and they manage to beat Tarquin. still haven’t decided if Nale dies or not, but I’m leaning towards yes. also they rescue Haley’s dad.
s3 e1: fuck dude idk.
early s3: Redcloak shows up, AGAIN, everyone groans. he has blackmail on them, he wants them to take Xykon down.
mid s3: The Rashomon Job but it’s about stealing the Talisman of Dorukan and it turns out that Nale was there too (“oh!” Elan says. “I was wondering why I looked so weird in all those mirrors! But it wasn’t my reflection, it was Nale’s!” “Sweetie, that wasn’t Nale’s reflection,” says Haley. “Huh,” says Elan, “so the mirrors were broken?”, cue eye rolling from everyone else.), and the Successful thief was Hilgya, who’d nabbed it from the owner before it even went on display.
s3 finale: they beat Xykon, actually factually, because he deserves to get his ass Thoroughly kicked, even if only in AU form. Lien and O-Chul are there, so are some other less helpful FBI people. There’s a bit where O-Chul Exact Wordses his way out of telling his superiors about the Order’s less legal activities without technically lying. King shit.
s4 e1: doesn’t really matter. maybe smth to do w some legacy of Tarquin’s company to set up the drama w Malack & Durkon later.
early s4: Durkon gets SENT TO PRISON. Malack approaches the Order abt this because sure they have Different Ethics but they’re still Friends. (Roy is surprised and a little hurt that he’s never heard of Malack, but he ignores that in favor of Let’s Get Whatever Fuckers Did This To Our Friend.)
immediately after that: Miko and Tsukiko return as a Team, preventing the Order from working on the Durkon situation
mid s4: Redcloak makes another unexpected & unwelcome appearance but he’s maybe a little less of a dick? the Order collaborates with Malack & his Crime Buddies (hello, Vector Legion) to pull one over on him tho, because “less of a dick” does not mean “a pleasant or decent person”, and also he was mean abt Durkon being in jail, so he totally deserved it. he still gets whatever he wanted tho, just takes a blow to his pride. also prevents the Order from helping Durkon. they’re having a LOT of setbacks wonder why that could be, not to make sure the season fills its whole length or anything, no sirree
s4 finale: something something taking down the organization, headed by Hel (yes that’s her real name), which framed Durkon for their Big Crime. Durkon goes free and Extra Firmly retires, For Good, He Swears, but says he “met someone new” who might be an asset.
s5 e1: minrah joins the team! and the episode is set in like, somewhere really snowy. that’s all i got.
the rest of s5: don’t know, don’t care, it’s open-ended until the comic finishes up.
Hello there! I'm back! Happy New Year!
I'm deeply sorry I wasn't around to finish this story for Inuvember but life came up (and it sucked) and I wasn't in the right headspace to write this story in a way that made it justice. And good thing I didn't force myself to post this because when I looked back at what I had written... oh boy. It was awful. I had to rewrite everything and I changed the direction this chapter was taking.
Last, but not least, this chapter is barely edited, so please bear with me!
I truly hope that you like this since I'm really happy with how it turned out. Everything has been angst and pain so far, let's start the healing, shall we?
You can read it here or in AO3 or in FF.net
I Want to Be With You
Inuyasha didn’t know how it happened. One moment he was looking at Kagome and the next he was holding her in his arms. She was hugging him in a tight embrace as she cried her heart out.
“I missed you, Kagome,” he whispered into his hair, as he hugged her tighter.
“I missed you, too, Inuyasha,” Kagome replied, her words barely audible but he could still understand them. Inuyasha felt Kagome shift and when he looked down he was greeted with a pair of brown eyes, looking right back at him. “What happened? How are you here?” she asked as she looked at the Well House. “Does the well work again?”
And there it was: hope. Hope for a life that was not possible, hope for a future that was ripped from both of them. Inuyasha felt a pang in his chest as he realized he would have to tell Kagome the truth. “No, Kagome,” he said as he hugged her once again, afraid to say it out loud, as it could shatter her. “The well never reopened,” he confessed. “I just managed to survive,” he took a deep breath and continued, “I just managed to survive five hundred years…”
He could feel Kagome tensing in his arms. He knew the question was coming, it was a matter of seconds. Kagome moved one step away from him, just enough for him to see her tear-stained face.
“You survived five hundred years? You’ve been here this whole time?” she inquired with her round eyes. Inuyasha wouldn’t admit how wrong it felt to not have her body against his, how much he had missed that.
“Why now, Inuyasha? Why didn’t you come back sooner?” He could sense Kagome’s pain in her words. Even though he knew she would ask that, he also knew he would never have the right answer to that question.
“I… I came here the same day the well closed, Kagome, I swear I did. But when I saw you… You were a teenage girl, and I looked like this… I looked like a twenty-five-year-old man. It didn’t feel right,” Inuyasha said and looked away, bracing himself from whatever Kagome could throw at him.
Kagome stood there for a few seconds, contemplating what he had just said. He saw her looking at him, studying him. He saw how her big round eyes, filled with tears looked at him and tried to understand him. Tried to understand everything that was happening. She saw her closing her eyes and taking a deep breath.
“Kagome, I know it’s wasn’t fair-”
“It’s okay Inuyasha. It doesn’t matter, I’m happy you are here,” Kagome cut him in and hugged him once again. “If you waited five hundred years to meet me again, I can wait five years just to see you again,” she simply stated.
Inuyasha hugged her once again, relieved that he was able to get that confession out of his chest. He was relieved that this conversation happened after five years of picturing it on his mind. He was relieved Kagome understood. That was his Kagome, she always saw the good in others; she always tried to understand.
They stood like that for a few seconds, enjoying the sensation of being in each other’s arms.
“Inuyasha, I-” Kagome was about to say something, but someone calling her name cut her in.
“Kagome! Are you okay?” she heard her mother shout near the Goshinboku.
“I believe they are looking for you, birthday girl,” he whispered in her ear. “Happy birthday, Kagome.”
Kagome laughed as she cleaned the tears from her face. “Thank you,” she whispered back and looked at him with her big brown eyes.
“You should go, your mother is looking for you and she sounds worried,” Inuyasha said, squeezing her shoulder and starting to push her away from their embrace, letting her go.
“You are insane if you believe I’m leaving your side!” Kagome fought back just to hug him again. “I’m not going anywhere, I don’t care, Inuyasha. I lost you once, I’m not losing you again.”
Inuyasha could feel the panic in Kagome’s voice and he felt a hole in his chest where he was sure his heart was a few seconds ago. He sighed.
“Kagome, I’m not going anywhere,” he reassured her as he took her face between his hands.  “I will be waiting for you here. Go talk to your mother, change your clothes, and once you are done I will be here and I will take you to your house, deal?”
Inuyasha could see how the wheels were turning in Kagome’s head. She was so afraid to even blink as if he would be gone in any second. She was delusional if she thought that there was any way he could leave her, especially now that he knew Kagome wanted him in her life.
He was about to say something else, to make her feel safe and let her know that he wasn’t going anywhere, but something cut his train of thought: he felt Kagome’s soft lips on his own.
After all those years of dreaming that exact moment, he needed to admit that he didn’t do any justice to Kagome’s lips: they were soft and sweet in a way he wasn’t able to put into words. At first, it was a shy kiss, one that resembled that first kiss they shared inside the Shikon Jewel all those years ago. But, when Kagome parted her lips to deepen the kiss, Inuyasha lost it.
He put his right hand on the back of her neck and she wrapped her arms around him. He kissed her like there was no tomorrow. He knew that feeling very well, until a minute ago he didn’t know if they weren’t going to have a tomorrow at all. He kissed her the way he wished to have done it all those years ago. He wondered if Kagome was thinking of the last kiss they shared and how they didn’t know it was a goodbye. Did she feel the same way?  Inuyasha could feel Kagome’s body pressed against his, trying to be as close to him as possible and he welcomed her, elated to know that she felt the same way. This time, it was different. This time wasn’t a goodbye, this time felt like a beginning.
After kissing for what could have been some time between forever and five seconds, Inuyasha broke the kiss and looked at her. “You need to go, your mother is really worried about you, she thinks something bad happened to you since you were supposed to be done by now,” he told her while trying to recover his breath after their kiss. “I’ll be waiting for you at the bottom of the stairs of the shrine, I will be right next to my motorcycle,” he reassured her.
“Your motorcycle?” Kagome asked as she raised her brow.
“A lot can happen in five hundred years,” he joked and smiled. “Now go, I’ll explain to you later,” he finished and kissed her goodbye. It wasn’t a kiss like before, this was a soft kiss that held the promise of tomorrow.
 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
One minute Kagome was kissing Inuyasha and the next one he was gone. She could feel her heart beating against her ribcage and had to put her hand on her chest as if that would help to slow it down a little. Had she just kissed Inuyasha? An Inuyasha that not only waited five hundred years for her but also drove a motorcycle?
“There you are, Kagome, I was looking for you!” she heard her mother say from behind. “Are you okay? Did something happen?” her mother inquired.
Kagome didn’t know what to say. Should she tell her the truth? What was the truth anyway? Did she just hallucinate the whole encounter? She decided that until she was sure, she would keep Inuyasha’s presence a secret. She didn’t want to worry her mother, the same mother that saw how she crumbled to pieces at the idea of losing him once.
“No, Momma, I’m okay,” she lied. “I was just overwhelmed with memories, but I’m fine,” she continued.
Her mother hugged her and sighed. “I know things are still hard for you, but I’m proud of you Kagome, I truly admire how strong you are,” her mother whispered to her.
Kagome hugged her mother back and her stomach plummeted because of how guilty she felt. She knew she should tell her mother about Inuyasha but the truth was she wasn’t even sure that he was real or if the kiss actually happened. “Thank you, Momma,” was everything she could say.
“Don’t you have a party to go to?” her mother teased with a smile. “You need to go and change, you are not going to a bar and drink alcohol dressed as a Miko, young woman!” she continued as she nudged her side with an elbow.
The walk to the house was silent, her mother had an arm around her and she was lost in her thoughts. What was she going to do? Was she going to go to a bar with her friends? Should she cancel the party with her friends and stay with Inuyasha? Suddenly, thinking about Inuyasha waiting for her at the bottom of the stairs of the Shrine made her feel things. She was actually having feelings that she thought she would never have again: she could feel the butterflies in her stomach, and her heart was speeding up the same way it used to do all those years ago, anytime she would get close to him.
Was that actually Inuyasha? Her Inuyasha? Could it be possible? Could it be real? What if she had finally lost it? Not able to live without him, maybe her mind made him up and she just kissed a random stranger, maybe that was it; maybe she had finally lost it. Kagome sighed, had she really lost it?
Kagome realized that she didn’t care. She felt more alive than she had felt for the past four years. She felt more alive than ever and she embraced all those contradictory thoughts she was having. Maybe it was a trick, but she didn’t care. She was ready to feel, to wake up, to live again. She was done feeling numb.
She got to her room and changed out of her Miko clothes faster than she thought it was possible, she carefully laid the clothes on her old bed and grabbed her purse. She grabbed her cellphone and sent a few text messages to her friends, telling them that she didn’t feel good and that she needed to reschedule her birthday celebration. A small smile started to form in the corner of her mouth, remembering all the lies her grandfather had to tell when she was a teenager. Old habits die hard. She received a few text messages from her worried friends, urging her to rest and recover. She felt a little guilty at the idea of having her friends worrying over her, but she knew this was something that she had to do. Putting her cellphone away, she headed downstairs. After saying goodbye to her mother and her brother she left the house in a hurry, saying that she didn’t feel good and that she was going to go to her house and rest.
Yeah, sure. Rest… Kagome laughed at how stupid she felt at that moment. Was it okay to lie to her family, too? She never hid Inuyasha from them, but this time it felt different. What if it was a trick? What if it was a mistake? She needed to find that out by herself.
She walked down the stairs almost running, her heart beating so loud she was starting to hear a beep. The first thing she saw was a motorcycle parked next to the entrance to the Shrine and that alone made her lose her step and almost fall down the rest of the stairs. Kagome thought she was going to break her ankle but something caught her and prevented her from falling. The minute she felt those hands on her, holding her and protecting her from even the dumbest of harm; her hopes rose up. Inuyasha was real, he was right there. She kept telling herself, reassuring herself that it wasn’t her mind playing tricks on her.
“Are you really going to get killed after I finally got the courage to face you?” he teased her, fake exasperation in his voice.
Kagome tried to fight the tears that were building in the corner of her eyes but she couldn’t. She was so happy to have him again, to see him again. She did the only thing she could do: she hugged him and she cried. She cried for all those years that she thought that she would never see him again, she cried those tears of happiness she thought she would never spill because the idea of being reunited with him seemed impossible.
Kagome knew Inuyasha didn’t like crying, but somehow he understood that she needed to cry, she needed to let all the pain she had been holding for the past four years go away. She needed to let go of all of that in order to be able to enjoy the fact that he was right there, next to her.
“It’s okay, Kagome, you are okay, I’m here,” Inuyasha said while hugging her back and patting the back of her head, soothing her.
“I’m sorry, it’s just that even though this was the thing I wanted most in the world, I never thought I would actually get it,” Kagome replied between sobs. She knew it sounded corny, she knew she sounded stupid, but she didn’t care. She was just happy and overwhelmed in a good way. Being next to him, she felt whole again. She felt like she was able to breathe again.
“Where should I take you? I heard you are going to a bar with some friends,” Inuyasha said, looking down at her.
Kagome fumbled in his arms and broke the hug to look at him, “Are you kidding me? I’m not getting away from you, Inuyasha, I just got you back, I’m not going to a bar, I want to be with you!” She could feel her fierceness coming back to her, the only fierceness he was able to wake up in her.
“Kagome…” he said with a stern look on his face.
“No, Inuyasha, we are not discussing this. You decided to show up now, well, I’m deciding to be with you now, not with my friends. I already talked to them and canceled, so there is no backing out now,” she crossed her arms in front of her.
“This is not how things are supposed to be, you are not supposed to leave your life aside just to be with me, Kagome. This is not the same as five hundred years ago,” he confessed, frustration building up inside of him.
“I know, Inuyasha, lying to my friends it’s not something I’m proud of, but I need this. I have questions, I need answers. Do you truly believe I would be able to be with my friends knowing that you are here? What I want to do most in the world is talk to you, Inuyasha. I want to be with you, I want to know everything, I-”. Kagome would have kept talking if it weren’t for Inuyasha's lips on top of hers.
His lips felt like fire, they were hungry and desperate. Every little thing Inuyasha did showed her there was still a place in her body for new sensations. Kagome didn’t take long before putting her arms around his neck, deepening the kiss. Was it possible for her to be so attracted to him? Was it possible for her body to react so much at the mere touch of his lips, of his hands? When Inuyasha played with her lower lip, a soft moan escaped from her mouth. She knew she should be ashamed of such a public display of affection, and she was surprised to realize Inuyasha didn’t care either.
But what did the people know about them? She honestly didn’t care, they had been through so much together. They deserved this.
Kagome broke the kiss and tried to steady herself, while Inuyasha hugged her, putting his arms around her waist.
“You have no idea how much I missed the fierceness within you, Kagome,” was all Inuyasha said while he grabbed her and put his head in the crook of her neck. She trembled at the tickle of his breath on her skin. This was new, this whole thing was new to them but still felt somehow familiar, like coming back to your home after a long journey.
“I didn’t know I still had it in me,” she shyly admitted.
Inuyasha let go of her and looked her in the eyes. “Do you want to go to my place so we can talk about, well, everything?” he asked her.
Kagome was still trying to process the fact that somehow, Inuyasha managed to survive five hundred years just to be with her. He has been through a lot, has lived enough lifetimes to write hundreds of books and he now was a functioning adult, with his own house and all.
“Your place?” was everything Kagome could say.
“What? Did you expect me to still be living on a tree?” the hanyou in front of her jokingly asked.
Kagome rolled her eyes and realized how dumb her question was and wanted to smack her head with something.
“It’s actually a little far from here. I needed to keep my distance,” Inuyasha confessed, shrugging it off.
“Sure, let’s go,” she said. Somehow she was waiting for him to kneel in front of her, so she could climb on his back like they used to. Suddenly, Inuyasha grabbed the extra helmet on his bike and tossed it over to her. She looked at it for a few seconds, trying to understand what it meant. Of course she knew what it was, it’s just that it seemed so off when she tried to place it next to Inuyasha. She was sure Inuyasha thought that during those five years apart she had suffered a seizure or something. Great, make him regret waiting five hundred years for you, Kagome.
“Is running too old-fashioned for you now?”  she teasingly asked, while putting the helmet on.
Inuyasha laughed at Kagome’s joke. It was a sound that made Kagome’s legs feel weak like they could give out in any second.
“We can go running whenever you want, Kagome. But I won’t leave my bike here and hop on a tree when everyone’s watching. Come on, get on, wench,” he said and smiled at her.
She carefully sat down on the backseat and put her arms around Inuyasha. She could feel the heat of his body irradiating through his clothes and it struck her like lightning. She felt more at home than she had ever felt in what it felt like forever. She missed his warmth, she missed his smell, she missed him so much that she needed to take a deep breath to recover and avoid crying once again. Oh boy, she was definitely going to cry a lot that day.
“Are you okay?” Inuyasha asked, at her sudden change in behavior.
“I am now,” was the only thing Kagome could say.
Inuyasha nodded and started his bike.
 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
He never thought everything was going to escalate that quickly. He thought he was going to be in Kagome’s life as a friend but the minute he walked into her life it was like a magnet had been turned on. He never expected her to kiss him the minute he showed up, but she did. His body called to her, he needed to have her close and it seemed that her body wanted him close, too.
When he was waiting next to his bike, he thought that the kiss was because the emotions were too high, and being reunited felt exhilarating. But then, the minute he saw her again he couldn’t keep his hands away from her. What surprised him was that Kagome didn’t mind the intimacy at all, he paid very close attention to her reactions to his movements. He knew he had to be careful because he didn’t want to overstep any boundaries, but their bodies remembered each other and were begging for them to be close.
Kagome had asked to quickly stop by her house, so she could pick up a few things she said she needed. He was patiently waiting while Kagome was at her apartment, not daring to go with her. He needed a few minutes to be alone with his thoughts.
When they were arguing about Kagome going to the bar with her friends, he suddenly felt alive again. With the years his temper had tone down a few notches, but suddenly Kagome’s presence ignited a fire within him. It was right then when he knew, they were reunited and they belonged to each other. It was perfectly clear to him that they were not the same teenagers who fell in love all those years ago, but their souls remembered each other and they were meant to be together.
After all those years she suddenly was in his life again, challenging him and turning his life upside down. He wanted to do everything for her, to give her everything. She was the only reason he stayed alive all those years. She saved him in every possible way, always being that light in his heart that made him want to survive, to make it out alive.
Suddenly, he felt his right pocket vibrate. He tucked his hand in it and grabbed his cellphone. He had received a text message from Shippo.
How is it going? Did you meet her? I swear to God, Inuyasha, if you didn’t go there I will kill you.
Inuyasha sighed at the text message. He understood how Shippo felt, when it came to Kagome he had waited long and patiently enough, but he still needed to set some boundaries.
She asked to stop by her apartment for a few minutes. Then we are going to my place to talk and sort some things out. Let you know how that went tomorrow.
Sent.
He then pressed the red button on his cellphone for a few seconds until the screen on his phone went dark. Boundaries… set.
“So now you even have a cell phone? You will have to give me your number,” he heard Kagome playfully say behind him and he turned around. She had changed clothes, wearing a pair of jeans and a blouse. Those clothes seemed comfier than the ones she was previously wearing. She also had a backpack with her.
“Going on a trip? I thought you said you wanted to talk,” he asked, pretended to be offended by the change of plans.
“Don’t be an idiot, I know I’m staying the night at your place and I needed to grab some things,” Kagome replied, unaware of what she might have been implying.
Inuyasha couldn’t help but feel something inside of him steer, his heartbeat accelerating.
He could see how Kagome realized what she had just said and her face turned completely red.
“I also needed to feed Buyo, I haven’t been here all day,” she added, trying to change the subject.
“Buyo? Is that cat still alive?” he asked.
“Of course she is! She’s only 7 years old! And I hope she lives another 7 or 10 years more,” she happily replied.
“One can only hope…” Inuyasha jokingly added, rolling his eyes.
“You are mad at her because she scratched you all those years ago,” she teased him. She was such a tease, it was going to be the death of me.
Inuyasha turned around and ignored her. Oh, how much he had missed their bantering.
“Shall we go?” he said, handing her the helmet once again. Kagome grabbed it and looked at it with disappointment in her eyes.
Inuyasha started the bike and made a mental note to go running with her in the morning.
 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Overwhelmed. Kagome was overwhelmed, to say the least. She was sure she was dreaming and she was afraid to wake up. She was afraid of what she might do if she woke up and everything that was happening might turn out to be a dream.
She looked at the elevator doors as she waited for them to finally open once they reached Inuyasha’s floor. Inuyasha lived in a fancy building and his doorman loved him. Those were the only things she could wrap her mind around. She was grabbing the straps of her backpack with such a force that her knuckles were turning white.
When she was alone in her apartment, Kagome had a few minutes to gather her thoughts. She grabbed Buyo and hugged her tightly and tried to assimilate everything that had happened in the last few hours.
She was sure that Inuyasha and her would probably spend the whole night talking so she decided to grab her toothbrush and blushed. Should she change clothes? Should she change her underwear?
What are you thinking?
She sighed once more while quickly changing clothes. She decided to go for it and change her underwear. Even though she kept reassuring herself she was just being stupid and nothing would happen; she had been unable to deny there was something else there. Of course, they had been shy teenagers when they last saw each other, but they were adults now. Inuyasha had lived for centuries, so she was sure he wasn’t a virgin, right? And she… well, she wasn’t a virgin either. It’s not like she was well-versed but she had a few sexual encounters. She had tried to move on with her life.
But now they were there, at the front door of Inuyasha’s apartment, and the anxiety was too high.
What if she asked the wrong questions? What if they found out they have changed too much? What if they are not compatible as adults? What if Inuyasha worshipped her too much and forgot about all her imperfections? What if this older -wiser- version of Inuyasha is not someone she could fall for? What if she is the one that worshipped him? Could they still remain friends?
She could feel Inuyasha’s eyes on her.
“I need a drink,” was all she could say. The color was leaving her face, she didn’t need a mirror to know that.
Inuyasha obliged and she was sure he had used his hanyou speed because in a matter of seconds a glass with sake was on her hands. She grabbed it and drank it, not really paying attention to how good it tasted. She had had cheap sake and she could tell that was not it. But her mind was processing a thousand things and she wouldn't dare to pay attention to anything else. She tried to calm down and gather her thoughts. What if she didn’t ask the right questions? Her Inuyasha would understand, wouldn’t he? She just needed to start asking just one question and then building her way up. She could do that, right?
She decided to start with a question that was bugging her and won’t leave her alone, an easy one. “Can I ask you something, Inuyasha?” Kagome asked.
“Shoot,” he replied with a smirk. They were sitting on the kitchen island of his house. Even though the building seemed to be fancy, his apartment was quite simple.
She felt stupid asking this, but she had so many questions that this one seemed the only one she could handle right now, “Where are your ears?”
Inuyasha laughed at her concern but replied nonetheless. “They are right here, you just can’t see them,” he said while pointing at the top of his head. He gulped down the drink and grabbed the ring on his finger. He waited a few seconds and then removed it.
Suddenly Kagome was surrounded by his youki. She finally, finally, felt like she had found that missing piece: she had missed his youki so much. That presence that used to surround her all the time when they were traveling in the Feudal Era.
The man sitting next to her was her Inuyasha and there was no doubt about it. She felt all the anxiety leave her body. She knew it might be difficult but everything would be okay, they were finally reunited and they were going to be okay.
She could hear a loud beep in her ears as she covered her mouth. She thought she had shed enough tears for the day but her body was once again proving her wrong. Seeing his ears, his golden eyes, his silver mane… it was too much to handle. She felt lightheaded and attempted to grab the table to avoid falling from her booth, but Inuyasha was there in an instant. Holding her and taking care like he always did.
“Are you okay?” he softly asked.
“Yes, It’s just… Seeing you with your ears and the hair... It’s too much,” she replied. And the eyes, those same eyes that were on every dream and she was never able to forget. They were there, staring at her with the same intensity she remembered. She blinked rapidly, trying to make her tears go away, “I’m sorry, I know I keep crying, it’s just that I can’t believe this is happening,” she said while she looked away.
“Kagome, stop apologizing for crying,” he said, giving her some solace.
Inuyasha was so close to her that she could feel the little puffs of breath on her face. She was surprised by her actions but she didn’t care. Inuyasha was finally there and she wasn’t going to let shyness get in the way of doing what she wanted most. She tossed caution to the wind and kissed him again. Everything that was happening was a rollercoaster but she decided she might as well enjoy the ride.
The minute their lips touched, Kagome could swear she heard a groan coming from Inuyasha’s throat as he pulled her closer to him. She clung to him as if her life depended on him, feeling him, tasting him. He was strong and his body felt chiseled by the Gods. He was so strong that he was able to sit her on the table with no effort at all, as he put himself between her legs and hugged her closer, deepening the kiss.
She knew she had a thousand questions left to ask, but she didn’t care. She was being kissed by Inuyasha and that’s all that mattered. She would ask those questions the next day, right now she would enjoy the fact that she was finally reunited with him.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Oh well, THAT happened. This was supposed to be kinda the last chapter for this story but I kept having so many ideas and I ended up really enjoying writing these two and their relationship so... I think we have two chapters + epilogue left? Since I didn't finish it for Inuvember, I see no harm in writing a little bit more than originally planned.
I would love to have this story finished by the end of January, if not, mid-February, so I truly hope you start getting frequent updates from now on :)
Thank you so much for reading this story, leaving feedback, and sharing it. It truly means the world to me!! <3!
(headcanon)- The End Game Theory
It's been a long time since I've done one of these, but I was chatting about Shinou and I end up going down memory lane and adding more and more stuff to my explanations and... I can't recall if I've ever put this all together before, but here are some ideas that have been brewing in my head.
I take this info from: 1) The novel canon (mostly Gaiden 4 , which needs to be read and analyzed more, and also Gaiden 2) 2) The manga canon (knowing that GEG, the script writer, has always been privy to the end plot) 3) Drama cd 43, written by GEG (the editor and writer for the first manga) and TT-sensei (TT- Takabayashi Tomo, the author of the novels)
1) Soushu
-From the maruma encyclopedia, MA hon-
"soushu : When they tried to swallow the entire world, a group of brave people lead by Shinou and Daikenja defeated them, and their dangerous existence was sealed into four boxes. (Novel 1)"
Notice how they're called 'existence' without clarifying exactly what they are. In the novels they were referred to as ‘consciousness that stagnated’.
-----------------------
2) The Boxes
- From the manga chapter 114-
Who was the soushu inside Wolfram's box? Shinou's older brother.
Now... is this the brother from Gaiden 4, chapter 3?
I just want to remind everyone that it was GEG who was writing the script for the manga, and she's probably known the end game for a long time.
-----------------------
3) Shinou's Older brother
-From Gaiden 4, chapter 3 -
(Shinou's older brother) “There’s no need to be so formal with me, my mother is simply a female officer as well, so she’s in about the same position as you.”
(Shinou or his mom) “Even so, you are the oldest prince, Your Highness.”
(Shinou's older brother) “I was just born earlier than my other brothers.” (...)
(later, Shinou talking to Murata)
“On the battlefield, he wouldn’t let himself fall to the point where he had to be protected, after all he is quite capable in his own right. But he was killed by his own hand. After he was accused of planning a rebellion, the king ordered him to take his own life. However…”
That man grasps his hands and puts them behind his head, closing his eyes as he leans backward. Although he’s just a soul, his actions and mannerisms are still very lifelike.
“There are also rumors that the head belonged to someone who died suddenly in a bar three days prior, and that the prince had already successfully left the country under the guidance of a dancer.”
“The dancer you mean is…”
“Well, who could it be? The truth is I didn’t witness it with my own eyes either, after all I had already left before the woman who gave birth to me returned to the country.”
And he continues with an expression of pity,
“If the brilliant oldest son had inherited the throne, that country wouldn’t have fallen so early on. At the very least, it would have held on to fight against me.”
“Even if the opponent is a man as good as a father to you, you still wouldn’t hesitate to fight—seems like you really are a battle-hungry man.”
-----------------------
4) Shinzoku and Mazoku
I've already gone into a deep dive about the connection of shinzoku and mazoku before here, in the Soushu Connection .
In short, it's novel and manga canon and that houryoku and maryoku are two sides of the same coin, it's the same energy.
And let's not forget that the boxes themselves release houryoku (the energy used by the shinzoku), which is why the mines in Svelera where the box was found had so many houseki, and why the houseki disappeared once the box was removed.
-----------------------
5) Cherie and the blood
A deep dive on Cherie and how she's been doing Shinou's bidding since forever.
But more importantly, in drama cd 43- Secret (written by TT sensei) it is heavily implied that Cherie is Shinou's closest descendant (and I'm pretty sure it's also implied in Gaiden 4 chapter 7.1)
---------------------------
6) Yuuri
Remember the Wincott theory, where I gathered that maybe Miko was a Wincott and that's how Yuuri got the Wincott blood? But what about Shouma? What if... what if the black haired mazoku on earth are all descendants from Daikenja? Making them all related to Shinou as well?
I can't forget that part where it says that Shinou chose a very specific family for Yuuri.
 - From Gaiden 2- Chapter 1 -  (Shouma) "So why did you bring it to far-away Boston and not your own country? Not only that, why did you choose my family from the tons of mazoku all over the world?"
(Bob)"There seems to be some reasons. However, I haven't been told them and I don't intend to ask." Bob, who looked like an actor, narrowed his eyes meaningfully. "This is an important soul that will eventually become a king. They're sending it abroad - and to another world where the society and culture is different. That requires significant resolve and, conversely, a significant reason. Under those circumstances, the other side gave us their faith and entrusted it to us. Shouldn't we try to meet their expectations?"
(...)
(Shouma)"Why my family? There are beautiful couples everywhere out there in the world who are more wealthy and skilled."
(Bob)"Oh? I heard from your grandaunt that your wife is a wonderful woman."
(...)
(Bob) "Come now, I chose you so you have to trust me a little. I'll tell you, but what they want is black hair, black eyes, passion, guts, and a sense of justice. That and average intelligence. There were a few more unique conditions, but after taking them all into account, I'm entrusting it to you, Shibuya, as a Japanese person.
-----------------------
7) Summary
[] Shinzoku and mazoku are opposite sides of the same thing. (Girl is a Witch)
[]  In Japanese mythology, shinzoku are the god people and mazoku are those who oppose them. (Japanese definitions of mazoku/shinzoku)
[] The boxes release houryoku (Svelera). (novel 3)
[] The soushus (creators/gods) in the boxes are Shinou's relatives. (manga chapter 114)
[] Shinou's trying to get all the keys (that Murata put in others'blood) to be related to him, through Cherie. (drama 43, Secret  and Gaiden 4, chapter 7.1)
The End game: Shinou wants the boxes, because they have his powerful trapped relatives in them and wants to use their power to conquer the world. Somehow he wants his descendants to be able to control his ancestors powers in the boxes, and ultimately getting that power for himself.
extra1 -  Shinou's brother (or father?) may have originated the shinzoku, which would explain why Alazon could use the fire box (which happened to be the one that had the brother’s soul in the manga).
extra 2-  Yuuri might also be "in the family". I mean he's the main character, if this whole story is about Shinou's family and powers, shouldn't he be "in it", too?
Here is what the kids call my highly disorganized, half-baked list of stuff that could have been done with Jack to make him a better character.
@yeetmetothehell I am sorry if you are disappointed by my ideas.
“Optimus was more like...Jack.” OK…so show us that.
In my opinion...Jack seems like he was intended to be written to be almost a parallel to Orion’s journey to becoming Optimus Prime, at least how he is used in the plot. Jack is described as “smart and responsible”, which can also be read as “hardworking and responsible” and really this can be achieved in narratively using a few points, IMO:
Long hours in his room/the library studying outside of work and school.
Filling out the background of the garage more with sketches/print outs of motorcycle blueprints (to keep the idea that Jack really wants a motorcycle and show hints of extreme dedication, but they’re kept in the garage rather than his room to metaphorically show that distance he’s put between himself and what he wants)
“Man of the House”/”Grew up too fast” (This will be discussed more later but TL;DR “I’ll handle the electric bill this month, Mom”)
Somewhat fragile work/school/life balance that Jack somehow perfectly maintained before meeting the team
Orion was very physically passive. Jack seems to be intended to be written as passive but it comes off as an apathetic reluctance that Orion doesn’t possess (Orion may not believe in violence but he clearly wasn’t unwilling to communicate his thoughts; it’s how he got the title of Prime in the first place.) However, Orion had to learn to become more outspoken over time probably, so we can keep him as being aloof/reluctant at the start of the series.
“Man of the House”/”Grew up too Fast”
It’s no secret Jack came from a nonconventional home; June is very explicitly portrayed as a single mother with a dad nowhere in the picture. However the situation surrounding Mr. Darby is unknown. The way June talks about it makes me personally feel like Jack’s dad either ran out or divorced June and doesn’t bother with his kid. Dysfunction in the family really just goddamn changes you TBH. (can confirm bc hi, I come from a dysfunctional home) Sometimes you just grow up super fast. Jack probably spent his childhood missing his mom as she worked shifts at the hospital and seeing how lonely and hurt she was. He maybe went out and got a job the first day he could and helps with smaller bills (“I’ll handle the electric bill this month.”), or maybe other expenses like groceries and his own phone bill. June probably makes enough to comfortably support her and her son, especially given her job and the cost of living in rural ass desert Nevada. But Jack still does this anyways--it’s how he copes with his issues after what happened with his dad. Doubling down and trying to be what he thinks is the bigger man because his dad couldn’t be fucked.
This would make the disruption him letting the bots into his life creates more staggering; June doesn’t expect her son to pay bills, but the sudden change in behavior (skipping out on work) would be a cause for concern because sudden shifts like that are Usually Signs that Something is Very Wrong. Especially because Jack is usually responsible and open with his mom; he would have told her if he was gonna cut hours at work, theoretically.
Jack feels like he has to constantly put his own wants aside to contribute to his household. Even if June doesn’t force this expectation upon him, it’s a feeling that he will have, especially if he watched his dad just abandon him and June. Maybe he has resentment towards his dad for this and that is causing some anger he’s keeping tightly under wraps? And maybe the bots give him an excuse to do something he actually wants to do for once or some excitement in his life and that’s why he goes along with it? Lots of options, people!
Clothing Choices: The Hoodie™
You are going to have to deal with me being a whore for costuming choices and what they can mean. The show has a problem with the humans wearing the same shit every time they’re on screen and I’d love to rant about all of them (yeah yeah I get it saving money) but I’m focusing on Jack right now. Give Jack a hoodie 2020. A grey one or some other dull and drab color. And make him actually always wear the hood (except like in scenes where he is working bc workplace dress codes obviously) As time progresses, the drab hoodie is changed to a more vibrant color, but he still always has the hood over his head. And then, at a pivotal moment, the boy takes the hood off. (You could even throw in Miko cracking a joke about Jack actually having hair if you really wanted TBH.) Why this? The narrative is that Jack is constantly holding himself under wraps because of his self-imposed responsibilities. As he starts to become more into his own, he decides to express himself more with brighter colors, but still has some reservations. When he takes the hoodie off, that’s when he’s fully realized himself in this process and thus completes the parallel.
Actually make him interact with Optimus in a meaningful manner.
Arcee can still be his guardian in the field and I think working on strengthening their relationship is vital. But also, if you’re gonna make Jack the confidante holding the key to Vector Sigma, there actually has to be...meaningful interaction. Optimus asking Jack what he’s so engrossed in reading and Jack explaining the book he’s got with passion before shutting himself up and saying “it’s kinda dumb though” or something. And Optimus just responds “I don’t think it’s dumb, tell me more.” Coaxing him towards more self-discovery and expression. Optimus maybe sees more of his old self in Jack and starts attempting to be a quasi-paternal figure without really thinking about it because he is, after all, Dadimus. Jack maybe lashes out about how he doesn’t need Optimus to be his dad and that makes the space between them tense for a while. Eventually Jack comes to apologize and maybe there’s an important Talk.. Just a few ideas I will expand on later. I feel like forgiveness and lack thereof is a good theme--I know I was held back for a long time because of how convoluted the concept of forgiveness is with family.
The Character Arc
 So, what would Jack’s character development throughout the events of season 1 be? My basic idea for a Jack arc that mirrors Orion’s self-realization and coming into Prime-hood without being a carbon copy is essentially:
Jack is portrayed as a responsible, hardworking, studious teenager who constantly turns down chances for fun and excitement to handle his responsibilities. Has clear dreams for after high school and for his own personal life; but he’s constantly contemplating and changing his mind about whether he will or not because he’s extremely dedicated to helping his mom and all that. However, he still gets super curious about Arcee and gets swept up by her in the Vehicon chase, and he still has whispers of courage and protects Raf during the altercation. He first tries to ditch Team Prime because he’s concerned about his responsibilities, but eventually returns because he’s drawn to the opportunity to finally go buck wild for once in his life (even if he spends his time being hesitant about everything.) His hesitancy and dedication to severe self-imposed responsibility is a result of his inability to move on from what his dad did to him and his mom; he’s under the impression that he 1) Has to forgive someone to move on, and thus 2) He cannot move on because his dad isn’t there to bother to say sorry and take on his position as Dad. In essence, he becomes less the character telling Miko to stop and more the character being pushed by Miko to be more adventurous. In lulls in action, Optimus starts to take interest in him when he notices his constant hesitance to express himself and is just being dragged along rather than going willingly. Has a conversation with him about a book Jack’s reading, which Jack attempts to shut down because it’s “dumb and childish,” but Optimus urges him to continue. The idea that June knows about Arcee as a bike and Jack explaining that he bought a motorcycle as a fixer-upper for dirt cheap can stay. (He probably still is saving up for his motorcycle.)
The longest portion, after Optimus starts interacting with Jack on a level of bonding and gently coaxing him to be himself— Jack becomes more outspoken and he’s shown as curious, analytical, quick witted, and has a deep sense of justice. Being young and craving a childhood lost to his trauma and self-imposed obligations to help his mom with running the household, he suddenly starts spending more time at the base pursuing hobbies and going on missions rather than studying and work, which concerns June. She tries to press Jack, and is met with what can be described as typical teenage headbutting that gets progressively worse. She grounds Jack after the fight, MECH takes her, the rescue happens. (That makes sense to stay in this narrative IMO.) Around this time, Optimus has effectively started becoming Jack’s own Alpha Trion—teaching him things that he’s picked up that he may feel apply to Jack. Jack interprets one of these lessons as Optimus trying to be “dad” and he’s not having it. Makes it VERY clear that he does not need a dad (“didn’t need one before and sure as fuck don’t need one now”) and definitely snaps at Optimus, which then pushes his progress in the arc closer to the end. He eventually comes back to apologize, and Optimus forgives him. He and Optimus have a heart-to-heart about one of the hardest lessons Optimus has had to learn—how to let go of the past without forgiving those who have hurt you and refuse to make amends, so that you may determine your own future. It’s very clear he’s talking about Megatron, even though he never says his name. Jack takes this lesson to heart.
His final bit of development before the hood removal thing probably happens during the events of “Rock Bottom” and reinforces that hard lesson, right when he’s faced with the option to off Megatron. Maybe there’s some taunting about how Optimus preaches softness and forgiveness too much when Jack refuses to kill him. Jack gets angry, and he’s about to fucking do it. But then he stops, takes a breath, and says “Optimus doesn’t preach forgiveness, he preaches moving on from those who refuse to move on themselves. He will never forgive you, but he’s learned to live on despite what you’ve done.” Soon after this, when Megatron comes to the base, Jack takes off his hood, stares Megatron right in the face, and says “This is not forgiveness, Megatron. Don’t you forget that.” Later, when Optimus gives him the key, he tells him something along the lines of “you have grown since we’ve met, Jack, and even though there is still a long way for you to go...” he hands Jack the key. “...Remember that even I am a work in progress.”
Anyways this is again, half-baked. And needs lots of polishing. But it’s something.
It’s Transformers Prime Time ep1
Is this a bandwagon to hop on? Cause I am hopping on it and am gonna liveblog my rewatch of tfp. Cause why not. *cracks knuckles* Let’s do this!
Tumblr media
anyway we stan how pretty this fuckign show is
-wanders under a cut to save space-
I still can’t believe they for Dwayne The Rock Johnson to voice Cilffjumper even though he only lives for what? All of two episodes?
I do like the establishment that
Arcee and Cliffjumper are good friendos
Humans aren’t taken that seriously by them (pin it, we’re coming back)
That they haven’t seen Decepticons in a long ass while (also a pin)
Tumblr media
Cool guys don’t look at explosions
Tumblr media
IT’S THE BAE
Tumblr media Tumblr media
WHO IMMEDIATELY STABS A MAN BOT TO DEATH WITH HIS WHOLE ASS HAND.
Y’KNOW
FOR THE KIDS :D
I have a hunch that I am eventually going to feel like the peeps at Roosterteeth during the very first 24 hours ExtraLife stream they did. Where with the increasing bonkers things they had to do for stretch goals and lack of sleep led to the point where FOR THE KIDS became less a cute call for donations and more a plea for strength. Every horrible moment in the show is just gonna be FOR THE KIDS.
ALSO ALSO I find it very interesting that Starscream and the Decepticons call Megatron “Lord” and “master” like... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmaybe it’s just my USA centric human sensibilities. But that doens’t seem to mesh with your uuhhh. Main goals.
But what do I know.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
HONESTLY THOUGH SO PRETTY. THE REFLECTIONS AND SUCH ON ARCEE. THE LANDSCAPES. I love, we stan, etc etc my screenshots to not do this any justice
The humans still look weird.
Also someone tell me why Jack would even think to put the bags of food on the window counter? Like... that is fast food window 101, customer doesn't get anywhere near their food until they have paid. It sits on a counter inside, away from the window.
Anyway Jack has.... a terribly boring design
Tumblr media
Like..... meh
Okay but how awkward must it be for a cybertronian to be treated as an inanimate object? Honestly?? That must be fucking awkward af
Awww Arcee called Bumblebee family :3
Tumblr media
Also Raf is adorable and I love him
I am already getting so many ideas for my own fic I should probably write while I watch
Tumblr media
And now we meet Miko, my least favorite of the humans. If she would have had like....actual character development over the course of the series. Well then she probably would have been my fave. As such I stand by the opinion that her and Raf both have the best design of the kids. If I had to guess they wanted to make Jack the everyman character, so they gave him a boring design. But like... character design is important, especially for main characters. Miko and Raf have designs that convey aspects of who they are. Jack doesn’t. Raf, upon seeing the autobot base: cooooooool
me: it looks like the poor man’s batcave
Also I know it’s a kid’s show it’s going to be kids who get to hang out with the autobots, but also
WHY CHILDREN GET DRAGGED INTO ROBOT WAR?
Why do children get dragged into any war hahaha eeehhhhh
Tumblr media Tumblr media
WAR SCENES, FEATURING THE DEAD THE DYING AND PEEPS WHO HAVE BEEN IMPALED. Y’KNOW. FOR THE KIDS.
Tumblr media
Starscream: do we actually have to fetch megsy?
Soundwave: *nods*
Starscream: uGH fINe
Seriously though, for someone so duplicitous he really did not out up much of a fight in bringing Megatron back.
Tumblr media
Wall eyed motherfucker
Today in History
On January 26, 1984, Michael Jackson's hair caught on fire while filming a Pepsi commercial.
UPI:
JAN. 28, 1984
Michael Jackson hospitalized after fireworks mishap on set of Pepsi commercial
ByJEFF HASEN
LOS ANGELES -- Superstar Michael Jackson, hospitalized with burns from fireworks that ignited his hair during filming of a commercial, was quietly discharged from a hospital Saturday against his doctor's recommendation.
Dr. Steve Hoefflin said he believed it was best for Jackson to stay at Brotman Memorial Hospital, but reluctantly agreed to his release at 12:30 p.m. PST (3:30 p.m. EST). Hours earlier, he had told reporters Jackson would be hospitalized 'for several days.'
'We recommended that Michael stay, but we determined this could be done as well out of the hospital as in the hospital,' Hoefflin said. 'Despite our recommendation, he felt he did want to be treated as an outpatient.
'He was quite happy. He felt better after a good night's sleep. He's in excellent health and was showing very rapid signs of recovery. He's very pleased it was not more of a severe burn.'
Hoefflin said he did not know where Jackson planned to go.
Jackson, 25, was dancing down a stairway at the Shrine Auditorium Friday night in a scene for a multi-million dollar Pepsi commercial when a special effects smoke bomb apparently misfired and set his pomade-slicked hair ablaze.
Nurse Pat Lavalas, the burn unit supervisor, said Jackson was in good spirits Saturday morning and he received many telephone calls, including get-well wishes from singers Teddy Pendergrass and Stephanie Mills.
'He left in good spirits and his condition is good,' she said. 'He didn't speak about the accident to us. He watched 'American Bandstand' this morning and people were getting his autograph.
He sang a Stephanie Mills song in the bathroom. He stayed in bed and opened telegrams, and he got a big kick out of one from a fan that said, 'I know you're hot, but this is ridiculous,'' the nurse said.
Just hours before Jackson's secretive departure, Hoefflin told reporters the singer was in satisfactory condition with second-degree burns and a small third-degree burn on the back of his head.
'He's in moderate pain, he's much more tired than we anticipated. He needs sleep at this time,' Hoefflin told reporters at a hospital news conference.
He said Jackson may require reconstructive surgery.
Jackson, the country's top singer, won seven American Music Awards earlier this month and picked up a record 12 Grammy nominations. Hoefflin said Jackson will be able to attend the Feb. 28 Grammy presentations at the Shrine 'if he feels up to it.'
A spokesman for Jackson said the singer requested that a tape of the accident be made public as soon as the film can be processed.
'Michael wants to make certain that his fans know exactly what happened,' Larry Larson told reporters at the hospital.
Asked if Jackson was contemplating a lawsuit, he said, 'There's no indication at this point.'
Hospital officials said the medical center had been inundated with thousands of phone calls since Jackson arrived and a spokesman pleaded with the public to stop calling, saying emergency calls could not get through.
The singer's 'Thriller' album topped the music charts last year, placing an unprecedented six singles -- including 'Billie Jean' and 'Beat It' -- in the top 10 and spawning several popular videos.
The accident Friday night occurred before a horrified audience of about 3,000 people who won tickets to the taping from a local radio station.
One witness told United Press International that Jackson removed his jacket without breaking stride and tried to put out the fire.
'There was supposed to be an explosion for his big entrance,' Daryoush Maze, 25, an extra in the cast, said. 'As he went off, an explosion went off and there was blue smoke all around his head and neck. There were no flames, just blue smoke from the stuff he had in his hair.
'It seemed like it was part of the show. He was doing it very professionally, still dancing. He's a good trouper.'
About a block from Jackson's boyhood home, nearly 1,000 people clad in their Sunday best jammed into a small, stuffy basketball gym to hear the candidate speak.
After a church choir sang a few hymns, Jackson's mother, wearing a deep blue dress and a 'Jackson in '84' button, triumphantly introduced her son to the throng.
Jackson took the stage and led the audience in his familiar 'I am somebody' chant.
'Our mission is justice at home and peace abroad,' he told the townspeople. 'I've watched the growth of this city and this state and I see the need for more growth.
'We have the need this day to have a spirit of redemption and reconciliation -- to rise above historic divisions that have stunted our growth. This is a period for us to beat our swords into plowshares.'
Jackson spoke of Greenville as once being the textile capital of the world, and noted the slump in the industry today that has put thousands out of work.
He called for an end to the 'dislocation of the textile industry.'
'This generation must realize when a plant closes, it closes without notice. Men cannot feed their families; mothers cannot nourish their children. That kind of reckless economic conduct must challenge us to open a new economic order.'
Jackson also visited a small bar that sponsors a softball team Jackson played on during the 1960s.
The presidential hopeful was the team's starting first baseman.
'He's a long-ball hitter,' said Charles Chiles, a patron of the establishment who remembers Jackson's days on the softball field.
Jackson also climbed onto the fender of a brown Cadillac parked near the bar during the afternoon and urged about 200 onlookers to register to vote.
'You can help me and you can help yourself,' he said. 'If we register to vote our children will not have to grow up as we did. They can get jobs. They can develop and grow.
'We can not only hang around on the corner, we can own the corner.'
Moonwalk book page 235-238:
Later one of the doctors told me that it was a miracle I was alive. One of the firemen had mentioned that in most cases your clothes catch on fire in which case the whole face can be disfigured or you can die. That’s it. I third-degree burns On the back of my head that’s Almost went through to my skull, so we had a lot of the problems with it, But I was very lucky.
What we now know is that the incident created a lot of publicity for the commercial. They sold more Pepsi than ever before. And they came back to me later and offered me the biggest commercial endorsement Fee in history. It was so unprecedented But it went into The Guinness Book of World Records. Pepsi and I worked together on another Commercial called” The Kid”, And I gave them problems by limiting the shots of me because I felt the shots they were asking for didn’t work well. Later, when the commercial was a success, he told me I had been right.
I still remember how scared those Pepsi excuses looked the night of the fire. They thought that my getting burned would leave a bad taste in the mouth every kid in America who drank Pepsi. They knew I could have sued him and I could have. But I was real nice about it. Real nice. They gave me $1,500,000 Which I immediately donated to the Michael Jackson Burn Center. I wanted to do something because I was so moved By the other burn patient I met while I was in the hospital.
“ I have a plan to spend most of 1984 working on some movie ideas we had, But those plans got sidetracked. First, in January, I Was burned On the set of a Pepsi commercial I was shooting with my brothers.
The reason for the fire stupidity, pure and simple. We were shooting tonight and I Wassupposed To come down a staircase yes magnesium flash bombs Going off on either side of me and just behind me. It seemed so simple. I wanted to walk down the stairs and these bombs Would blow up. We did several takes that were wonderfully timed. The lighting effects from the bombs were great. Only later did I find out that these bombs Were only two feet away from either side of my head, which was a total Disregard of the safety regulations. I was supposed to stand in the middle of a magnesium explosion, two feet on either side.
Then Bob Giraldi, the director, Came to me and said, “ Michael, you are going down too early. We want To see you up there, up on the stairs. When the lights come on, we want to reveal that you’re there, so wait”
So I waited, the bombs went off on either side of my head, and the sparks set My hair on fire. I was dancing down the ramp and turning around, spinning not knowing I was on fire. Suddenly I filled my hands reflexively going to my head In an attempt to smother the flames. Are you feeling down and just tried to shake the Flames out. Jermaine Turned around and saw me on the ground, Just after the explosions had gone off, and he thought I was shot be someone In the crowd — ‏because we were shooting In front of a big audience. That what I looked like to him.
Miko Brando , Who works for me, was the first person to reach me. After that, it was clhaos. It was crazy. No for me could probably capture The drama of what went on That night. The crowd was screaming. Someone shouted, “ Get some ice! “ There were fantic running sounds. People were yelling,” Oh no!”. The emergency truck came up And before they Put me in Isow the Pepsi excutives huddled together in a corner, looking terrified. I remember the medical people putting me on a cot And the guys from Pepsi were so scared They couldn’t
even bring themselves to check on me.
Meanwhile, I was kind of detached, despite the terrible pain, I was watching all the drama unfold. Later they told me, I was in shock, but I remember enjoying the ride to the hospital because I never thought I’d ride in an ambulance with the sirens wailing. It was one of those things I had always wanted to do when I was growing up. We got there, They told me there news crews Outside, so I asked for my glove. There’s a famous shot one waving from the stretcher with my glove on. hooting tonight and I Wassupposed To come down a staircase yes magnesium flash bombs Going off on either side of me and just behind me.
