So far I am 25 hours into Crisis Core and learned many things

(Crisis Core spoilers and theories ahead)

- Genesis has a Bible (most likely related to LOVELESS and his theories) and I joined his fan club

- Sephiroth has a fan club with “images that your average Sephiroth fan could never ever dream of seeing” apparently which is a bit worrying but I am also a Sephiroth fan club member so

- Tseng knows Aerith somehow? Willing to bet this is either related to her having been in I think Shinra facilities for a while. Orrrr something love related(?)

- Cid is in space training :) (I love Cid.)

- Cissnei is a character, don’t know much about her but she’s there and I don’t THINK she’s in the original FFVII but if she is she’s hidden because I dragged Cloud around on SO MANY side quests. (Cissnei your chances of living do not look good in the future I’m not gonna lie)

- I believe Gongaga is still intact and hasn’t yet been destroyed by theeee Mako Reactor I think it was sooo that’s probably gonna be an important plot point if that happens

- At least two of the SOLDIERS are gay for Zack or at least find him attractive in some way (which if they are, good for them, good for them)

- The fact that once you’re in the science dept. you can’t leave because they deal with too much sensitive information, that’s a really nice detail and I really love it. I learned that a few days ago I think and I really appreciate that because it makes Hollander’s stuff make more sense I guess from what little I do know

- I lied about Sephiroth he’s not the comedy character it’s Genesis, my man just shows up, spouts poetry(It’s always LOVELESS) and then dips. “My friend, will you fly away now. To a world that abhors you and I 🤓” (I’m sorry Genny ily I’m in your fan club 😞)

- Apparently nobody likes Angeal because from what I saw there was one person in his fan club and it’s getting shut down because she’s too depressed to do anything about it (unless Zack intervenes, which can’t be possible anymore because I missed that chance, sorry Angie 😞)

- There’s a lot of definitely not relevant small details(lie) Like Zack’s whatever limit break that he uses when you haven’t gotten the character’s image in the DMW yet. It’s just cross slash, which is Cloud’s 2nd limit break in the original FFVII (I can’t say anything about the new one since I haven’t played it yet- but yeah) Another one being Aerith’s bow, since Zack buys it. (I’m sure there’s more I can’t think of right now but yeah)

- Zack is 6’1” and his hobby is squats apparently which makes sense but I figured he’d more of a casual baking kind of guy. (Though he’d also be the kind of guy to burn like Kraft Mac n cheese so I don’t know if I’d trust him in the kitchen ever-)

- Zack got doxed lol (and Yuffie got his address)

- Zack the puppy.

- Wutai spies are very bad at being spies

- Every child is a con artist (except for that one that one time)

- Zack, master treasure hunter (Me because I have spent most of my time doing just missions and side quests-)

really actually kind of enjoy how the big lore moments are sort of quiet on a singular stream (or a small group!) instead of the events solely being the lore; i think there would be this hesitation to develop anything solo if the server reinforced this idea that Big Lore could only happen during scheduled events and days. instead the more narrative-progressing moments (take the baghera hybrid experiments revelation or the philza birdnapping for recent example) are very low-key and almost unhyped up— there’s no expectation for that kind of lore necessarily at the time which makes it more rewarding to experience as a viewer. big fan of how they do the events as player bonding time rather than serious narrative progression because it allows all the players (especially the ones who don’t engage in the rp side that much) to participate and get to know each another more; it’s very neat it’s really smart it’s nicely executed

#eleanor.txt #qsmp #tag expansion time get ready for the nuance #do i think that the events could be executed better in terms of like. coding / design. yes on occasion #i’ve seen some frustration that some players don’t take the events seriously enough and that it’s frustrating as a viewer #which i understand and empathize with i think there’s definitely A solution somewhere but i’m not sure exactly what it is tbh #i try not to criticize what i cannot personally solve i think they’re doing their best with what they’ve got #i also do believe that like the Expectation for Big Lore almost always backfires #it’s something u cannot win i think . the expectation will always in some way let you down #(especially re: character involvement seriousness of the stream amount progressed narratively contribution to general plot etc etc #there’s so many variables when you expect ‘lore’ and what that means to people)#i think there’s always some disappointed group when Big Lore starts to be hyped up & teased #whereas i see a lot less general complaints when it’s an unexpected moment (other than people upset they missed it—#arguably unavoidable whether you advertise the stream as lore focused or not)#there’s still Lore during the events things still occur information is still exchanged #but it’s not structured on lore. lore isn’t the foundation for the event it just occurs by implication #anyway. very good job qsmp impressive stuff very enjoyable

#also i’m fucking exhausted it was a long ass day of robot #i broke down crying for no reason in the middle of my last tech interview for drama #because i was so fucking stressed abt hosting the robotics comp this weekend and waiting on college decisions #and also two of my friends were like in the hospital at the time #one bc they hadn’t eaten in like a week because of an ed and we’re doing really badly #and the other because they had to get stitches bc of sh #but i couldn’t really explain alllll of that to my drama teacher #anyway #i did hear back from one of the schools tho!!!!! and i got in!!!!!!#but they didn’t give me as much money as i would have needed to commit there #so like i probably won’t end up going even tho i really loved the school and it’s kinda my top choice #and also the accepted students days all conflict and i ended up signing up for one that would mean id miss the end of district champs #for robotics if we qualify #which my hopes are vaguely high this year #but now i’m gonna have to miss part of it if we do ://///#and the other more competitive one i’m waiting on hearing from some time this weekend i’ve been checking the portal like every twenty minute #it’s really bad #anyway i’m gonna go take a shower and then go to sleep before i drive myself to another breakdown #idk why the tags of this ask was my place to say all of this but it sure was

EVA!!!!!!!! HI !

I have so so many fandoms so here's a list of the ones I can think of right now. Not super active in all of them but, I do think about them a lot.

- Star Wars (currently rewatching all of the films and the clones wars in chronological order, Rogue One and Andor are my favourites though)

- DC (Batgirls, Teen Titans 2003, and Young Justice 1998 are my top comics but i’m slowly working my way through most of pre-crisis, also have watched Titans (netflix) and loved it (Brenton Thwaites did an amazing job of Dick Grayson))

- The Maze Runner (i could talk about the books and films for literal hours and never don’t think about them. my roman empire)

- Marvel (mainly mcu but also the ms marvel comics (Kamala is everything to me), also i watched the Hawkeye finale on xmas eve because its THE Christmas show to me)

- both Percy Jackson and Hero’s of Olympus of course (also Magnus Chase)

- Grishaverse (leigh bardugo is life)

- The Raven Cycle (everything about them i'm in love with and the writing is such an inspiration for me)

- Half Bad: the Bastard Son and the Devil Himself (all time favourite tv show, so mad it was cancelled)

- The Manifold Worlds by Foz Meadows (pretty sure the fandom consists of me and the author of the single fic on ao3)

- Outer Banks (it’s summer here so i’m thinking about them a lot, and also you were literally my motivation for finishing s3)

- the Hunger Games (ballad of songbirds and snakes is such a masterpiece and has transported me back to my hunger games self)

- the magnus archives (was really active last year but not so much anymore)

- a good girls guide to murder (I'm so excited for the show)

So I pretty consistently watched DW through Nine, Ten, and Eleven. I started watching Twelve, and then fell off like near the end of his first season. Then I watched a few episodes with Twelve and Bill, but again fell off. Then watched almost all of Thirteen’s first season except the last special, then jumped back in and watched her last two episodes in prep for these 60th specials.

And really, I’ve always wanted to go back through and watch the whole thing. Even back through Eleven’s since aside from a few episodes I pretty much only ran through his seasons once. But obviously motivation hasn’t been there for me to sit down and do it, and I kind of found all the little bits that I’ve learned through the years about the Gallifrey stuff a little daunting to try and get my head ready to wrap around.

Here’s the thing though. Fourteen’s emotional breakdown in this second special, talking about the Flux (which I have no idea what that’s about) and timeless child and idk even what else make me so want to go back and watch so badly, just so I can fully understand and appreciate these scenes and emotions.

And honestly I can’t think of a time I was watching a new regen’s season or special and thought that.

One of the aspects of the regens (especially when it’s a new show runner) that I’ve always been a little sad over is that there’s very little reference to the Doctor(s) they were before, and especially the companions and events they went through. I get that they want to distinguish these new chapters as their own, and that the Doctor is not the same Doctor as they were before. But it just feels like such an amputation and makes me so sad.

Like don’t get me wrong, I’m over the moon that David specifically is back to have this adventure with Donna. But it would just make me swoon to see another of the Doctor’s faces speak with the same love for their former companions. Another example of this is in Thirteen’s last episode with the classic companions, we just got a bite of Thirteen’s face with them before it switched to their personal Doctor’s faces (which again, I’m more excited as a fan watching knowing these are actors who are so excited to work together again and that we’re so lucky to still have these actors appearing, than as a follower of the story seeing the current Doctor with their old friends).

Anyway, that’s not my point here. My point is that the carry over of story and influence of previous Doctor(s) emotions/thoughts/feelings is something that I adore and it motivates me to go back and learn more and get the whole story. Because if RTD is giving us this for just the specials, I look forward to his approach for the next Doctor and season so much!

I used to experience the practical realities of life as a blur and a whirlwind, especially new experiences, that would take me to the highest heights and lowest lows on a wild rollercoaster. And so I was often either crying or practically glowing with delight and wonder. That’s changed as I’ve gotten older and to be honest I’ve missed the highs many times. Like just. Is this the price I pay for being more of an adult and understanding how things work—that I don’t get to be lifted up anymore? And there is some truth to it. The heady rush doesn’t happen nearly as often. I am not swept away on the wings of emotion. But I don’t miss the lows. The meltdowns that would happen, the pain stacked on pain stacked on pain that was the result of me simply not knowing how things worked, doing things wrong (innocently), and getting snapped at. like it’s all just evening out.

#I think what has surprised me is that I DO miss the highs #I’ve always dismissed the idea that you could miss some version of yourself that was less progressed #because it’s like why would you miss a version of you that knew less? That was stupider?#that just had less experience?#but I do!!! I miss many versions of my past self #and I miss the way things used to feel when they were good. even when it was only because I didn’t know something #but also I’m sure there are lots of wonderful feelings in the future that will have their own intense brightness to them #Wow making myself cry here #just going through my drafts posting stuff from ages ago thanks for bearing with me
