The Journal Journey Part 80
Feel as though several of these rang true or were thought about and mentioned in the last few weeks on this journey. It makes sense and when we need to learn a lesson or hear some particular wisdom, repetition helps, and the Universe tends to provide. These come to us from back on May 12, 2017.
 Wayne Dyer:
“What are you willing to do, to go through, to live your mission.” – A form of this came into a conversation I was having this weekend discussing change. So many of us want to make changes in our lives across so many areas. However, many of us fail to get started because of what we may have to endure to create that change. Yes, change is very hard, inconvenient, and not idea. Often times we cripple ourselves or even talk ourselves out of an endeavor because of the fear of having to do something different, or – hard! Other times, we fool ourselves in believing we’ve mastered something or that maybe we have changed, and we stop showing up each day practicing, and working on being that change. We convince ourselves that we’ve already arrived! It doesn’t work that way – change is an ever-evolving process, and the hard work doesn’t end. Having a “mission” isn’t something that stops, from my perspective. Yes, you may achieve your mission in something, but doesn’t another one take its place? Do we ever stop seeking change? As we continue to move forward on our journeys, aren’t we required to constantly change and evolve as our circumstances, surroundings, and situations do the same?
“Say yes to those thoughts inside you and don’t let them be extinguished until fulfilled.” – Talked about this a little during last weeks podcast: Relentless Forward Progress with Mike Ubaldini: RFP Podcast Episode #262 – Ultra Dad Session #70: Unexpected Troubles on Apple Podcasts but from a different perspective. This episode was about how we can build up all these thoughts in our head and outcomes that we think may play out, only to realize that they never happen. We cause ourselves stress and anxiety about the “what-if’s” when those circumstances never show up or don’t present themselves as bad as we ever thought they would. It is good to have awareness of this and Mark Twain has a great quote on the topic: “I am an old man and have know a great many troubles but most never happened.” That said, I like this other perspective that my daughter’s friend said to her upon starting her freshman year at college, “say yes to everything.” Well, almost everything 😊! But there is a lot of truth to that statement, in most circumstances and it was something we discussed in detail. We have heard stories or maybe experienced them ourselves, and I think this is what Wayne Dyer is sharing, where we missed out on an experience, opportunity, or situation because we said “no.” I know there have been times in my life where I had chosen to say no and missed an experience. I don’t regret that knowing what I know now, and it has taught me to say yes, much more now than I used to. That has enabled us to learn, grow, and create more of the lives we want to live!
“We come from nowhere, to now here with nothing. We leave now (here) and go to nowhere with nothing.” – It is hard to write in “dramatic pause” but that is exactly what I am trying to create here to let this quote sink in a bit. I’ve come across this a few times in the last several years and I believe it is incredibly profound. It reminds me of
The Dash Poem
. Our lives are all about that dash, the moments between the day we were born and the day we leave. We come into it with nothing and leave with nothing but spend that dash time, trying to have everything. I’ve wasted a lot of time trying to obtain things and stuff rather than trying to become. Trying to get everything rather than being everything to those that are most important. Fortunately, I’ve been able to change that trajectory (see above about the hard part of change 😊)! I think the harder part of change is staying consistent with it, every day, and not getting distracted by the shiny new “everything” that is around the corner. It is easy to do these days and tough to stay focused on that mission! Honoring your commitments and staying true to what is most gratifying to you will create a level of comfort knowing that when the end of your dash comes, you are content leaving with nothing……. although I will bet you are leaving something in all you’ve impacted!

Breaking Toxic Soul Ties
Breaking Toxic Soul Ties
Oh, world of books. Time spent reading and writing. Getting lost in the words and stories of others. I’ve found myself digging deeper into toxicity once more. The sad truth that our world is, so filled with entitled people or people that wish to hurt us. Find every method to take control and hold power over us, whether a boss, or a person who has been given more power than they deserve. Lets dig…

My Bullet Journal Experience
So i’d like to tell this one. I’ve been starting my bullet journal since 2018. Day by day i made it, and i always try to write everything that happen in my life every single day. I began this just because i had been feel like to do this, and i also really like to be an organized person.
I started to write everything that i thankful every day, then i realize it’s quite important to do for you guys too, because it can change how you see your life. I mean by doing this i feel like i’m becoming a better person that full of gratitude everyday. By doing this, your life atmosphere’s can be more positive because everyday you learn how to focus about the good thing in your life, and you just write it down into your journal until the bad thing just being forgotten automatically by yourself.
So i think it is good to be share because a lot of people nowadays just focus on the negative vibes in their life then forget what to be thankful. Have you been thankful today?

Perspective. It was a long drive and pretty warm and sunny. I paid a small price for my fair skin, which blistered the next several days from the sun.I remained pretty red shouldered for several weeks after. The red sandy dust was fine and everywhere, including a white convertible that drove in front of us for part of the journey through the iconic area. The place conjures up images of many a Western film and John Wayne. But one thing that struck me about the whole place was the perspective, not just visually of things being in the distance or close, or what forms things might resemble depending upon the angle you viewed them. There was elephant rock, for example. The perspective I thought of was how the older native culture view and named the area in contrast to how the more recent western European arrivals viewed and named it. To most Americans it is known a Monument Valley. To the native tribe that lives there it is "The space between the rocks." It this particular instance, the perspective was virtually the exact opposite. I like to look at things from different perspectives and that is one reason I enjoy learning about the culture wherever I travel. It can has a profound influence on how people view their surroundings and how they explain them. #exploremore #travelphotography #travelblogger #traveling #traveladventure #monumentvalley #travelersnotebook #journaljourney #travelblog #traveldiary #travelgram #travels #tour #tourist #travelling #roadtrip #usaroadtrip #thetraveltag #travelculture #worldtravel #worldtraveler #explore #discover (at Monument Valley) https://www.instagram.com/p/BtXN6o-Fjqj/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1exxc97xkrp5d

April 24, 2012 - Saturday
It’s like when I smoke the veil just falls away. It’s like it all makes sense. It’s like I am seeing clearly - free of delusions.
What I want to know is why I can’t achieve this in a normal state? Why when I am high can I easily achieve this mindset?
Maybe I am expecting too much, projecting my own illusions onto life. And I am so busy projecting that I can’t hear what is readily receivable to me.
Letting go is one of the most challenging things for me. But when I really think about it, shouldn’t be hard at all. It should be the easiest. Just let go. Drop the expectations. Drop the opinions and ideas. Just allow things to be as they are. Stop pushing, rejecting. I am only creating my own suffering.
When am I going to realize that the universe knows what it is doing. I should really just allow it to carry on naturally.
My opinions and worries all derive from my mortal position - from my single angle view-point. All I am is one person who’s looking at one side of an infinitely-sided reality.
There’s no way to know what else is going on elsewhere. I just need to trust. To know that whatever will be, will be regardless of how I feel about it. So just let it be and make the best of it.
It is all going to be alright.

Start the Journey

As a travel enthusiast, I believe that every journey is an opportunity to grow and evolve as a person. It's not just about ticking off bucket list items, but about immersing oneself in the local culture, understanding the history and heritage of a place, and connecting with the people who call it home.

The Journal Journey Part 79
Let’s take a ride, shall we? As I typed that I did laugh out loud a bit, considering we will be going on a journey ourselves later this week as we hit the road to drop off our eldest, Isabella, at the University of Iowa. She is about to take her first step on this new journey, and I am exceptionally excited to see where it takes her. Yes, there is some anxiety of course, and we will miss her something awful, but this is what we set out to do many years ago, with both girls; train them to leave the house and become great adults. Our youngest, Alaina, she is two years away from that. Bella starts in a couple of days!
That said, lets see what happened back on May 10, 2017, in the journal. All quotes are credited as appropriate, if not, I forgot to write the author down – forgive me 😊!
Unknown: “There are no limits, just plateaus and we must move past them.” – This experience is maybe a daily, definitely a weekly occurrence in my journey. Or it is a perception because do we truly see those “baby steps” in progress each day. I’ve had a couple conversations with folks lately about this related topic and I think I shared the feelings I’ve had recently around “doing the right thing.” Having more awareness on faith, that we are where we are supposed to be at this particular time. And we are doing all we can, with respect to our journey/mission, to keep us moving forward. As we’ve discussed many times in the past, this stuff isn’t going to be easy – we are supposed to be challenged and hitting plateaus, in my opinion, are part of the process. It can offer the chance to reflect or self-evaluate where we are on this road? Maybe our momentum has stopped or shifted, are we staying consistent? What may have changed? What may need to change? The universe, world, our support structure, will give us feedback and I believe we give ourselves feedback too. I know sometimes I may not pay attention to that feedback or realize it is coming. That just causes me to sit on that plateau a little longer. Maybe that is necessary too – we are becoming more ready for that next climb. Plateaus, and even steps back are part of the game – just as long as we don’t sit there, and we keep moving forward.
Wayne Dyer – “Replace the letters in scared and live a life that is sacred.” – Pretty powerful! A life that is sacred! My wife Robin and I were having this conversation about Isabella leaving for college today and we were discussing both girls, and the ride they’ve been on the last few years. How much they have grown in four years and the human beings they are becoming. We’ve worked hard to offer an environment that fosters this growth and challenges them (all of us) to be better versions of ourselves. As pointed above, we want to train them to leave this house and become great adults. There is a certain level of guidance we can provide, but at some point, it is up to them to create the life they want to live. We’ve seen much of this with both, more so with Isabella, just because she is two years further in her journey. But Alaina is coming into her own and stepping out of that comfort zone in areas of her life that we didn’t imagine. I think when we forge our own path and begin the work to create the lives we want to live, not settle for the lives we have, that is living a sacred life. Yes, being grateful for what we have, who we are, and who we’ve become is important, but so is not settling for what you know and believe you could create.
Close out with these simple nuggets to get you thinking.
Henry Miller, “Don’t look for miracles. You are the miracle.”
Nisargadatta Maharaj – “Produce to distribute. Feed before you eat. Give before you receive. Think of others before you think of yourself.”
