MORE 2MM!

Learning to sculpt toy soldiers and consider aspects like undercut on a 2mm scale. Returning to the broad period often generally lumped together as "Ancient History" with a War Elephant w/Howdah and a generic Mounted Soldier. The mounted soldier was sculpted with Numidian horsemen in mind, given the javelin and buckler. The howdah is currently separate from the elephant due to convenience when sculpting, but will likely be glue on before casting.

IF IT LOOKS ROUGH, PLEASE CONSIDER: that horseman is smaller than a rice grain. And I've been sculpting for only 4 days at this point, I'll get better, my horses can look like wolf rats for now ;3

The status on this.

It's my first (almost) finished diorama project, if you don't count the Warhammer cardboard scenery I made 25 years ago.

I have a figure I need to print out and add to it.

Learned so much. I think it's quite imperfect but still happy with how this hobby adventure is starting. I need to be careful, miniature modeling is an obsession and absolute time sink.

Next step, probably getting a 3d printer...

Made this little thing out of some trash and junk basically

I am very proud of it

Items used:

Peice of plastic left over from a press on nail set (pink thing beside it is also a peice of that for reference)

Clear gel nail polish

3 flecks of blue glitter

2 different metallic sharpies (silver and bronze)

Dry erase marker

Snippet of string from a clothing tag

#and also a fuckton of sanding with a nail file #shaping the half-dried gel polish with my finger and the pink plastic peice #having to very very carefully dab tiny beads of clear polish over the glitter bits to make them look like entire gems #<- i screwed up doing that several times btw and had to scrape it off with a peice of wire #a lot of coats of sharpie. then dry erase marker. then nail polish. then sharpie again. #very pain in the ass #also hand reveal i guess??? #patchy sculpts??? makes??? idk this isn't a drawing or a ramble so #miniature #patchy irl #<- i guess?
