Ronin Katana Model 28

The Ronin Katana Model #28 Katana has a traditionally clay-tempered blade with a genuine hamon which is forged from 1045 high carbon steel; the final polish of the blade both brings out the wave-edged beauty of the natural hamon and hones the blade to a sharp cutting edge. The tsuba, fuchi and kashira are quality cast metal components full of antique finished detail and the tsuka grip is crafted from wood. The grip has panels of genuine rayskin and is completed with a knotted tsuka ito grip wrap of cotton. The sword is matched with a wooden saya scabbard which is completed with a glossy lacquer finish and a knotted sageo cord. Included is a cloth sword bag for storage or transport.

This type of sword is considered a quality entry-level cutter by Ronin Katana. Ronin advises that they are safe to use against single soaked tatami mats, as well as water bottles and similar targets. Ronin discourages their use against hard targets, as well as thick, hard plastic jugs

Isopuppy Sewn Pattern Update: At long last, I've found time to get back to working on this! AKA I didn't feel like writing this weekend so LET'S GO SEWING YAY.

Current status: I have the final pattern worked out (plus or minus some seam allowance adjustments) and I've moved from junk fabric to final fabric. Hoping to get a good way into cutting/construction tomorrow. Unless I feel like writing. Who knows! Not me!

#WOW this astrology fabric is WAY stretchier under a needle than anticipated #We'll just wiiiden out that seam allowance #Body fabric is so nice to touch it's a faux fur with almost a minky texture very nice very pet-the-fabric #Hardest part of getting back into this was figuring out which of the three leg patterns was the one I'd decided on #Surprise it was a secret fourth option: none of the above!#Fortunately doing the crochet pattern left me with a 3D pupper Right There to model off of #So that got sorted quickly once I realized all the existing pieces sucked #You know what also sucks?#CUTTING 28 LEG PIECES ugh if that's not incentive to write instead I don't know what is #Also I keep forgetting to take process photos must do that #(I am absolutely going to forget that)#The amazing isopuppy #Salvage

My "new" sewing machine I got myself for the holidays!

Well, I say new. She's a 116 year old hand-cranked Singer model 28, dated to the 4th of September 1907 with the grapevine designs and the "Victorian" decals if I did my research right. She pre-dates the independent governance of my country by three weeks, and can't be said to be built like a tank because she was built before tanks were invented. But whatever she's built like, she sews like a fucking champ despite being 116. Four layers of fabric on a stitch length of about a millimetre? Give her a challenge already, she takes that like it's nothing.

All she needed when she arrived was some cleaning up and a bit of tension adjustment to her presser foot!

I shall name her Bernadette, for yes I am a gullible simple bitch who got into antique sewing machines via Bernadette Banner. So in honour blame, she shall be Bernadette. And now, since I was hand-stitching before and not very well, the clothes I make shan't fall to pieces upon the mere glance of a washing machine!
