In every video of Palestinians in the wake of these bombings I see people rush to hold men as they are breaking down, comfort crying children, shield mothers’ eyes to protect them from things no mother should see…

The strength, kindness, and humanity of Palestinian people continues to resonate. It unconsciously wipes away everything Israel and the white supremacist eugenics movement try to propagandize. Witnessing this fight for love in the midst of fighting for survival, and how these things can and must coexist with one another, has made a serious impact on me, as I’m sure it has many people around the world. Even in the most unimaginable horror and pain, Palestinians keep tending to one another and taking care of one another.

These things are not a lesson; they are raw footage of an active and ongoing murder campaign and genocide. Still I can’t help but notice the tenderness, each and every time.

#it'll only be like ~2 minutes long #i have like 1/3 done gmv and all i would have to do is rebuild what i had on another video editing software than it was on so i can get the #clips be on beat. and then fill in the blanks. and then edit colors for each clip in the entire thing #which doesnt take long for edits bc its usually a lot of clips from one scene (= same adjustments) but this has tens of scenes in it #and then add effects and transitions etc. #im going to a con in january and i could apply for their amv competition if i finished this thing on the 10th #so. sunday. which means i would have the entirety of sunday to make it #plus a little bit of saturday morning and tomorrow evening #leevi talks

When I was a child, I had a reoccurring nightmare.

I was at the beach in the water. It was night but the sky was bright. Not from the moon but the flames that burnt on hills in front of us down to the shoreline. The water was filled with people trying to swim away from the heat but trying to stay afloat.

I think this nightmare was inspired by a TV show of children during Pompeii.

I'm grown now. And I keep seeing this nightmare. But it is no longer in my dreams. I see it on the coast of Australia in 2020. And this week in Maui. It still fills me with terror as it did as child.

In Pompeii they didn't know. They had no warning they could look to. I comforted myself. IF something that bad was to come again, we're be warned before the disaster.

So why didn't we listen.

Local paper mill is on fire...again (I swear it's an annual thing). Pretty bad this time I guess as they've enacted a Shelter in Place warning until 11:30am tomorrow due to the amount of asbestos in the air. I don't live in town, but the smoke is blowing in my direction, so still gotta be careful as far as going outside.

Go figure since all the law enforcement is busy with the fire, assholes are taking the opportunity to break into peoples houses. You'd think we were in Detroit, not some hick town way the fuck up north.
